Today, we'll be reviewing Part No. BWPMHD14002. This is the B&W pintle hook mounting plate for 2" hitches. The hitch mount adapter plate is going to provide a good mounting point for your pintle hook, which is going to be sold separately. It's going to offer three different positions with the 8-hole adjustment. You're going to have position one, position two, position three.
It's going to let you customize the height of the pintle. It's made from a really nice, sturdy, steel construction with a high-gloss, black, powder coat finish on it that's really going to stand up well against rust and corrosion. This portion here is going to be the portion that slides into the receiver tube of your hitch. You're going to slide it in there until you get your pinhole to line up with one another. Then you're going to install a 5/8" pin and clip, or hitch pin and lock. Those are going to be sold separately.
You can refer to our website right here, etrader.com, to view some of your options. This is designed for a 2"x 2" trailer hitch receiver. It's going to feature a nice, solid shank all the way through, except where your hitch pin is located. It's going to offer a weight capacity of 16,000 lbs. We'll take a few measurements real quick. I want to take a measurement of the mounting plate.
This is going to give us a measurement of 5" x 7". Those mounting holes are going to be separated by 1-3/4". If we measure the distance this way, that's going to give us a measurement of 3-3/8". The overall length, measuring from the very back of the shank to the front of the face of the mounting plate, it's going to give us a measurement of about 9". The shank length, measuring from the back of the shank to the back of the mounting plate, it's going to give us a measurement of about 8-1/2". Then the distance we have from the center of the hitch pin to the back of the mounting plate, that's going to give us a measurement of 6-1/8".
The distance that we have from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the shank is going to give us a measurement of about 2-1/2". When you're using this in the rise position, you want to make sure you have enough clearance from the rear-most part of your vehicle to the upright portion here, so I'm going to take a measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the base or the weld. This measurement will increase because of the slant, the higher up the rear of your vehicle sits. So, if I measure from the bottom of that base to the center of the hitch pin hole, it's going to give us a measurement of about 3-5/8". It's a really simple installation. Again, you are going to need the hitch pin and clip, or a hitch pin and lock, to secure it inside your hitch. All you've got to do is take the mount and slide it into the receiver tube, push it in until your pinholes line up with one another, and then you can insert your hitch pin and clip, or hitch pin and lock. I do have a pintle hook here, just to give you an idea of what it would look like on there. Once you have everything mounted on, you're going to have three different options to choose from, and the pintle hook holes are going to line up. These are a kind of standard pattern, so the spacing's going to be perfect to mount your pintle hook right on to the front of the face of the plate. That's going to do it for our review of Part No. BWPMHD14002. This is the B&W pintle hook mounting plate for 2" hitches. .
