Custom-fit, steel pet barrier for your vehicle keeps your pet safely restrained in the backseat. Contoured, floor-to-ceiling and side-to-side barricade enables pets to roam without distracting you as you drive. Simple, no-drill installation.
Features:
The Bestop pet barrier is great for keeping both small and large pets safely in the rear of your Jeep so that you can drive without distraction. With the barrier's floor-to-ceiling and side-to-side coverage, small pets are not at risk of exiting the rear cargo area. The strength of the steel construction and the secure attachment to your vehicle mean that large pets are not able to move the barrier out of place.
Perfect, Full-Coverage Fit
The Bestop pet barrier is custom designed to fit the unique shape and construction of your vehicle, giving you peace of mind that your pets are properly secured. Spaces around the front seats are barricaded from floor to ceiling and side to side, ensuring safety for passengers and pets.
Unlike other pet barriers, which sit straight up and down, the Bestop pet barrier has a contoured shape. The hinged center of this barrier allows it to angle so that it fits snuggly against the back of your Jeep's front seats and around the center console.
The barrier's custom fit means that there's still plenty of room in your backseat for your pet to be comfortable and roam freely, as well as for the rear seats and some extra storage space. It looks great in your vehicle because it's specially made for Jeep and has a sleek Black Satin powder coat finish that complements your interior. Plus, Bestop's pet barrier is designed for a rattle-free fit with a Jeep soft top.
Strong, Durable Construction
Looking for a pet barrier that is stronger than straps or fabric netting? The Bestop pet barrier delivers the strength and durability you're looking for with its high-quality steel construction and powder coat finish. Unlike strap or net barriers, you will not have to worry about the Bestop pet barrier coming loose, ripping, or stretching.
Precise, Simple Installation
Bestop's pet barrier offers a hassle-free installation that doesn't require drilling. Precise attachment points on the pet barrier and the included mounting brackets match up to factory attachment points on your vehicle. Mounting hardware and an installation guide are included. To remove the pet barrier, simply detach it from the mounting brackets. The mounting brackets can stay put in your Jeep until you're ready to reinstall the pet barrier.
Before installation, the rear seats must be folded down. If you have a soft top, you must remove the quarter windows, release the top, and expose the sport bar to complete installation of the pet barrier.

Anybody who has got a dog knows that a dog barrier is very useful. Keeps them from jumping in the front seat and eating your French fries, keeps the dog safe, and what most of us do is go with some sort of generic, one-size-fits-all design like this. It may work all right but they work using friction which has two big problems for the Jeep world. The first problem is that as soon as you go off-road, your truck flexes a little bit, and that thing falls down and smacks your dog in the head. The second big problem with the Wrangler, you can't push that up against the soft top. Bestop needed to come up with a different solution and we've got Rick here to explain exactly how that's going to work. This is the Pet Barrier for Bestop.Rick: That's right.
This one's designed to fit the Four Door JK Unlimited. They come easy to assemble in just a couple of pieces, custom designed to fit behind the seats. They mount with a couple of hard mounted brackets to make sure it's secure and doesn't fall down.Go to the website or the catalog and make sure you get the exact one to fit your Jeep because these are so custom fit, they're the opposite of universal.Rick: That's right. How hard to put in We don't need this. Is there any reason why we need this dog barrierRick: After securing all the brackets, it's nice and strong. Originally designed to European safety standards to prevent any intrusion into the passenger area. This would actually work well on the trail for just keeping your luggage in the back.Rick: Keeps everything secure and off the back of your head. This is, I mean ...Rick: It's solid. That's nice.
Let's see if we can get the dog in there. Watch your toes. Rick, thanks very much for explaining this to us. Let's put the top back on this Jeep so I can actually keep this dog inside.Rick: You've got it. .

Custom-fit, steel pet barrier for your vehicle keeps your pet safely restrained in the backseat. Contoured, floor-to-ceiling and side-to-side barricade enables pets to roam without distracting you as you drive. Simple, no-drill installation. This is a very sturdy and well built product, but it does have one serious issue that needs to be addressed by Bestop. I want to preface that the next bit of information is not posted to scare anybody off from buying the product but is just a heads-up that it may be necessary to purchase an additional bolt at the hardware store. This does NOT apply to soft-tops as they provide bolts/nuts for them. I have a 2 door 2013 Wrangler with a hard-top.
There is a special torx bolt that screws the hard-top down to the body (see my picture for the screw) and this screw has a built-in washer that is not removable. Bestop's guide says to remove the bolt, mount the left or right arm bracket and then put the same bolt back through it to secure the arm. I tried everything to remove this washer including blunt force trauma, so it is definitely not designed to be removed. The problem with this is that the arm-brackets that connect to that spot has an extra lip on it and the torx-bolt is not long enough with the washer on it to get a thread. If you notice the Bestop photos of the product it does not show there being a washer underneath the bolt which might be due to minor differences in Wranglers each year.
I went to a Lowe's to pick up a new bolt which was a M8-1.25 x 30 (see image). This worked out perfectly in that spot to catch enough thread to crank the swing arm down. The rest of the installation was a piece of cake.
The product itself works great for midsize or large animals, but it might be an issue for smaller animals like small dogs and cats because there is enough gap at the top for them to crawl around the gate. I doubt this will be an issue because I can just plug up those holes with something to keep my animal from escaping.
Thanks for the great looking barrier.
