Vision X XIL-PX1840 Dimensions

Defeat the darkness with the Xmitter Prime Xtreme light bar. This extremely bright, 90-watt LED light bar uses precision optics to shoot out a wide 40-degree beam that floods a large area with bright white light. In addition to delivering maximum usable light and stellar efficiency, this light bar also gives you the same rugged, off-road look you've come to expect from similar, industry-standard halogen and HID off-road lights. So you won't have to sacrifice the look that you want to get the visibility that you need.

Wide 40-Degree Flood Beam

The beam pattern of this light is great for seeing out in front of you as well as off to both sides, making it an excellent multi-purpose driving light bar. It is ideal for low-speed, off-road driving applications and industrial applications where being able to see what's ahead of you is important but being able to see in your periphery is vital.

Superior Light Output

Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LED is capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diode is capable of producing. This light bar has a 9,504 raw lumen capacity and produces 6,660 effective lumens for ultra-bright light.

Lux - or the amount of light per square meter - is a measurement of a light's intensity. One lux is the minimum amount of light that is needed for an average person to read a newspaper.

Vision X XIL-PX1840 Beam Pattern

The above lux chart shows just how far and wide the Xmitter Prime Xtreme's beam extends. This light bar produces a light so bright and efficient that the beam measures 1 lux at 558' (170 meters). At that distance, the beam also measures 151' (46 meters) wide. To compare, a typical motorcycle headlight low beam measures 1 lux at 88' (27 meters), and a high beam measures 1 lux at 153' (47 meters).

Maximum Efficiency, Minimum Heat

This LED light bar delivers maximum efficiency at all times and always activates immediately, giving you steady, powerful, and reliable light every time you hit the switch. You'll see the difference the first time you fire it up. Unlike HID lights, this light doesn't need to warm up to achieve its full brightness. And unlike halogen lights, the Xmitter Prime Xtreme doesn't require that you change out bulbs due to blown filaments.

Premium LEDs

Vision X LED

Not all LEDs are created equal. Vision X uses only top-grade LEDs to ensure that their lights deliver maximum efficiency. Lower-grade LEDs, which make up a large portion of the market, produce more heat at the same wattage and have a much shorter life span.

Prime Drive

Although LED lights typically produce far less heat than halogen or HID lights, heat is still the biggest enemy of an LED. Vision X controls and combats heat with Prime Drive technology. This technology combines electronic thermal management (ETM) with pulse-width modulation (PWM) for superior heat resistance. The result is ultra-bright lights with the highest output, the least amount of wasted light and energy, and the longest life span.

Vision X Light Bar Prime Drive

Many LEDs on the market are only driven to 60 percent of their potential to avoid overheating, electrical spikes, and premature failure. But ETM allows the LEDs in Vision X lights to be driven to 90 percent of their potential. The ETM system monitors each LED's heat level to keep the light operating at a safe temperature, which maximizes its efficiency and life span. If the ETM system senses that the LED is getting too hot, it engages the PWM, which flashes the light at a rate of 100,000 times per second - faster than the human eye can detect. This gives the LED time to cool between cycles while still maintaining its overall brightness. It also allows the LED to be dimmed when used with a Vision X dimmer (sold separately).

Vision X Light Bar Heat Sink

This Vision X light bar is also built with an advanced heat sink to help dissipate heat. The heat sink has a channeled design that allows for convection-style cooling. The channels create a non-mechanical fan - outside air is sucked into the heat sink at one end and flows out of the other end, taking hot air produced by the light with it.

Rugged, Weatherproof Design

Vision X lights are incredibly durable, yet still lightweight. And they are thoroughly tested and protected against voltage spikes; damage from water, shock, or particulates; and interference with radio reception and vehicle wiring.

The Xmitter Prime Xtreme has a rustproof, black powder coated aluminum housing and a tough, impact-resistant polycarbonate lens with a scratch-resistant coating for maximum strength and durability.

The 304 stainless steel mounting hardware resists vibration to keep the light firmly in place, and it won't rust or corrode.

And the included wiring harness has an on/off switch and a triple-sealed, industry-standard Deutsch connector.

Video Transcript for Vision X Off Road Lights - Light Bar - XIL-PX1840 Review

Today we're going to review part number XIL-PX1840. This is the Vision-X Xmitter 90-watt LED Prime Xtreme Light Bar with a Flood beam pattern. Now, this part number comes with everything shown here on the table, the light bar, the wiring harness with the toggle switch, two mounting brackets, and the allen wrench. This is an LED light bar. Produces a bright flood beam. It's a wide 40-degree flood beam, which is ideal for low-speed off-road driving and also industrial applications. This does give superior light output from the two rows of nine five-watt LEDs.

Gives you a total output of 90 watts. Now, this light can be dimmed to 50% using the Vision-X dimmers. We sell two different ones. They are listed on this product page as a related product. One is a push-button control, the other's a dial control, and basically your dimmer'd be connected. Right on this plug-in there's a yellow wire, and it says Mark Dimmer, just so you know where it hooks up to. Now, this'll give maximum efficiency with minimal heat.

I use premium LEDs with a 50,000-hour lifespan, and they're driven to 90% of their light-emitting potential. It uses electronic thermal management, ETM technology, and also pulse-width modulation, which allows for highest potential light output at all times. The very back of the light bar you can see there's fins. There are channeled fins on this, which will let the heat quickly dissipate. The air flows through those fins and helps dissipate the heat. It's a durable weather-resistant construction.

Has a nice rugged black powder coat aluminum housing, which is lightweight and rustproof. The mounting brackets you use have these high-tensile stainless steel bolts. They have a rubber section right in the mounting bracket here that also help withstand vibration. Now, on the light bar itself the lens is an impact-resistant polycarbonate lens. Has a scratch-resistant coating. It's a very easy installation with all these included components.

You can mount this light on your roof, Robar, bumper, grill guard, bulbar, anywhere you like. Gives you a nice rugged look. The feet themselves are universal mounting feet. Basically they would go . If you turn the light over, you'll see the two slots with the hole in the middle. Basically you take that bolt, drop it through the hole, and then slide it over, and then you'll tighten it down when you get it installed. Same way on this one, and then what you'll be able to do is if you'll notice on this I move this mounting bracket. You can see there's a cylinder that this is in, so this mounting bracket, you could actually turn this light about 50 degrees of adjustment, and actually if you get it to a point where you want it to stay in that one position and not move, use this allen wrench, and on the very end there's Allen bolts that you can put this in and then tighten it down to keep it in that position if you'd like. We also sell separately on our website billet clamp mounts, and those are designed to clamp around a round tube, anywheres from one-inch to two-inch tubing, and again, they're listed on this product page as a related product. They're sold separately. I also want to mention the wiring harness that's included. Just take the brackets off, flip this back over. Now, this wiring harness right here has the toggle switch for the on and off, has about ten feet of cord with it, so you can mount it wherever you'd like. All of the wire on this harness is a 14-gauge wire. Comes with the relays, inline fuse holders, everything you need to pretty much hook up your light. One other thing, they do offer this on this end. It plugs into your light bar itself. It uses an industry-standard triple seal Deutsch connector, and if I can zoom in here maybe we can get a good idea. Show you an up-close what this Deutsch connector looks like. If you look right here you'll see that orange ring around it. That's actually triple seal. There's three rubber seals on that, and right here where you plug it in . Show you. Here's your plug-in on your light right here, so basically when you go to plug this wiring harness in you just line this top part up with that, and when you go to push it in it's a very snug fit. You can feel the seal sealing, and when you push it in you can hear it lock into place, and then that locks and you can't remove it, and those seals form a nice weatherproof seal that keeps any elements from getting to that connection. It's a very nice connection. Then to remove it, push down and pop it off like that. Now, a few specs on this light. Zoom back out here. A few specs on this light itself, is 18 diodes, total of 90 watts, five watts per LED. The power draw on this is 4.17 amps. The input voltage is 9 volts to 32 volts DC. Comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Now, on the lights themselves the effective lumen output is 6,211 lumens. The raw lumen output is 8,874 lumens. The beam when this is turned on is 558 feet long by 151 feet wide, and it is a wide 40-degree flood beam. A few dimensions on this. The width of this light is 11 inches. The height is about 3 3/4 inches tall, and the depth is about 3 5/16 deep. Now what I want to do is I also plug this into our 12-volt power supply to give you an idea how bright this is. Got our 12-volt connector here. We'll plug it in. Now what I'm going to do is go ahead and turn off the overhead lights. With the overhead lights off we'll go ahead and turn on the 12-volt power, and you can see how bright those LEDs are. There's about 18 LEDs at 5 watts each. You can see it gives off a very nice flood beam design. Go ahead and turn off the power, go ahead and turn on the overhead lights, but that should do it for the review on part number XIL-PX1840, the Vision-X Xmitter 90-watt LED Prime Xtreme Light Bar with the flood beam pattern. .
