Specs:
The 1-piece steel Westin HDX Xtreme nerf bars make it easy to enter and exit your vehicle from both the driver's and passenger's sides. The custom-fit, chiseled-style bars run the length of your vehicle's cab and mount close to the frame for a streamlined look.
These step bars have a unique geometric shape with angled edges and corners that set them apart from round or oval bars. Oversize steps drop down from each bar, decreasing the step-up distance between the ground and your cab. The step areas are textured to provide a good grip, and the grooves in each step help channel water away.
The solid, durable steel construction and black powder coat finish ensure that these bars will weather the elements, including rust and UV rays.
The mounting kit is included for an easy, no-drill installation. Simply bolt the nerf bars onto existing holes in your vehicle's rocker panels.

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the line of Westin HDX Xtreme Nerf Bars. These nerf bars are going to give you a much more aggressive look as you can see, than a traditional nerf bar. Traditional nerf bars will either have a round tube or an oval shape tube, whereas these will have lots of hard edges that give it a nice aggressive look on your truck. Regardless of what truck you're putting these on, I think they're gonna look really good, especially if your truck, like the one we have here, has a lot of black plastic on it, it blends in perfect with it. Now, when it comes to step size on these running boards, after all that is gonna be the most important feature about a set of nerf bars, is that this step, I have a size 13 boot, and these steps are absolutely massive.
There's more than enough space to be able to put your foot on these. The most comparable set of running boards to this set is going to be the Westin HDX, these are the HDX Xtremes. The HDX is going to have a much smaller foot plate. I wouldn't even say it's a plate, as more of just a bar style that you put your foot on. The grip on those is not gonna be near the grip that you're gonna get on these because the Westin HDX will have a steel plate that has punch outs and those punch outs are designed to give you grip.
Well, it's metal, and when metal gets wet or gets full of water or ice, whatever, they become slick. With these, with being this plastic material, it's like a rubberized plastic material. They have these nibs and all these channels to help redirect water, snow, ice, what have you, to give you that superior grip. If you've got mud on your boots, they're gonna be tough enough to stand up to wiping your boots off and getting into your truck, because going through a car wash is a lot easier to clean these off than it is to clean out the whole interior of your truck. Another thing I like about these is that they're big enough to where you can stand on 'em comfortably with two feet.
If you're loading up a car, whatever you're putting these on, you can stand here and comfortably load up your car, wipe your roof down. If you're one that likes to detail your truck, this is gonna give you a lot of time and a comfortable place to stand to be able to load stuff up or get it cleaned off. There's gonna be multiple different sizes available for this set of steps that'll fit many different vehicles. We have single steps, we have double steps, we even have a triple step, which is designed so that you can use it to get up into your bed. Now, obviously on the GM truck that we're working with here it has a integrated bed step, but if your truck does not, which many models do not, you can get the longer version which will have a third step, give you that extra height you need to reach into the back of your truck, or especially into a toolbox.
Toolboxes can sit anywhere between six and eight inches off the top of your truck, so even if you can reach into your truck bed, you may not be able to reach the bottom of your toolbox. So you just have to use our fit guide on our website to be able to find out which step is gonna fit your vehicle. These are gonna have a sturdy steel construction with a matte black powder coat finish. The paint is gonna be a tough finish, but if you ever get it scratched up or banged up, if you'd like to take your truck off road, these are gonna be much easier to fix than a set of chrome running boards or even gloss black. Gloss black is very difficult to blend the paint together. But when it comes to matte black, if you get a a scratch on this section up here, just tape it off, scuff it up with some sandpaper or some steel wool and hit it with some black matte spray paint and it'll blend right in and it'll look like brand new. All in all, if you're looking for a set of running boards that look really good that'll add to the look to your truck rather than take away, these are gonna be a great set. There are many other sets out there that might look better, but they're not gonna be a great step to have to use every single day. These steps, I guarantee you are gonna be great to use every single day, they'll clean off great, and they're gonna last you for a long time. Well, guys, hopefully this video helped you decide whether or not the Westin HDX Xtreme Nerf Bars are right for you and your truck.

Easy installation
Highly Recommend!
Very nice bars and instillation was fairly simple. I do have a suggestion for making install even easier. I installed the brackets into the bars first, then using an ATV jack lifted the bars into position and secured them to the vehicle. Trying to access the bolt holes inside the bars with the brackets installed on the vehicle first is a royal PIA. This way you have room to install the brackets first onto the bars and then mount them. The ATV jack is the way to go.
The quality of the Westin HDX Xtreme Nerf Bars was better than expected. The fit and finish was exceptional. With that said, the direction were a bit challenging. The written directions and illustrations were hard to follow. It took me about an hour to install the first side and 5 to 10 minutes to install the other. It could take someone that is not as mechanically inclined a bit longer. I would highly recommend these running boards. They are solid, well made and complete the look of my 2023 Jeep Wrangler.
These bars are pretty awesome! For reference, I have a 2024 Silverado 2500HD LT Crew Cab. They were on the truck in an evening with very little fanfare.
One thing I would suggest if this is a solo installation and you don't have a lift; Step 1 - remove the appropriate dust covers prior to starting the installation. Step 2 - Get all your bolts loaded up with the washers. Step 3 - loosely install the mounting brackets to the bars first (this is especially helpful with the bolts that are inside the bars - outer part of vehicle). Step 4 - then set the bars on the ground (protecting them from being scratched), then slide yourself under the truck and slide the bar on top of your body. Step 5 - Lift up the bar and install the top bolt only to get the bar hanging on your truck. Once you do that, you can then go back and loosely install the rest of the bolts. Step 6 - go back and torque everything up (15-18ft/lbs) following the instructions.
Everything went together great. My truck is only two-weeks old and this was my second upgrade to the truck. Everything went flawlessly.
I am still happy with them and then some. There is no visible rust after driving all winter on salt sprayed roads. I would not hesitate buying another set for any of my vehicles.
Perfect fit on my ‘17 Nissan Titan SV. Easy to install, bolts and brackets lined up spot on. Good sturdy set of running boards/steps and they look great as well. Glad I went with this style from Westin. The pads are made of a bit more of a ridgid materiel than I expected but wouldnt change my mind if I decide to outfit another truck with steps. Thanks!
We love them, they fit the vehicle perfectly. Ordering with etrailer was easy and they showed up with no issue ad ahead of schedule.
Look great! Easy to install.
Easy to install , looks great, fast del ivery.
Although the nerf bars look good on the truck, they were not exactly like the nerf bars in the product description. The nerf bars that I received have a plastic tread / step (which doesn't appear to be replaceable) and the step is not open in the rear of the step. It is enclosed in the back of the step and may build up mud, dirt and rocks. Hunting season has started and I'll know in a month or so if they'll work.
Very nice fit. Very well built. Bought them for my dad. He loves them.
they have held up great.
Fit great, makes it so much easier to get in and out of the truck. Shipping was fast too.
Easy to install! Look great!!
fit great
it works
