These 6" wide, brite anodized aluminum running boards sit close to your vehicle's frame for a streamlined look. The 1-piece, non-slip step pad on each board is made of soft, durable rubber, providing better grip than a molded step surface.

Hi there, truck and SUV owners. Today, we're going to be taking a look at Westin's line of Sure-Grip running boards. We're currently showing off the bright anodized aluminum, but they're also available in a brushed aluminum and a black aluminum. These running boards are going to be ideal for those that want to enhance the look of their truck or SUV or make it easier to get in and out of their vehicle, as well as easier to reach things located on the roof. So if you've got a roof rack or raised rails up here, these are definitely ideal if you're having difficulty getting things loaded on them. And I like that they run cab length. So it's going to be great for the front rear passengers.
And if you've got a truck bed, you can even use it to help you get up in there to get some of those items out of the back. Here you can see up close the textured surface that runs across our running board. And it's an extra wide running board, giving you six inches of width coming out all the way down the side of your cab. You can also see that there's channels here in our surface, and that allows moisture to go down in them. So when you step on them, you can be on the grip pad here, and it's like a rubberized material with a texture on top. It is soft, so it does make it a little bit easier to get in and out of the vehicle, especially if you're like me and you hate wearing shoes wherever you go.And with our textured surface here, we've got some moisture.
So even on those rainy days, when we go to step in, we've got plenty of grip. And you can hear my shoe squeaking on the surface because we've got so much grip, it just doesn't want to let go. So now we don't have to worry on those wet days, or even when it gets into the colder months when we started to accumulate some slipperiness down there, because that water is going to go down inside those grooves, and we don't have to worry about it being on the surface. The moldings at the end give it a nice look as it contours to the vehicle. And the textured surface and our moldings are going to be UV resistant, so you don't have to worry about them fading or cracking down the line.Another thing that I really like about these running boards is how it is a solid surface.
There's a lot that have crosshatches like that in them. And that's nice for if you get dirty a lot, you do a lot of mudding, you can rinse those off. But the solid one here is nice if you're looking to keep your vehicle nice and clean and you're not going to be getting it all muddy. When you're driving on those roads and you're flinging up a lot of dirt and mud, having a solid board all the way across the bottom here is going to help minimize how much dirt gets kicked up on your rocker panels. And we want to keep all that dirt off of here, because if you have dirt and mud compacted up on your rocker panels here, they can hold in moisture, which can lead to premature corrosion and rust.
There's also a weather strip that runs down the entire length of our running board, keeping it sealed up tight against the rocker panel, so we can minimize how much of that gets thrown up by our tires. You want to use our fit guide to help you when choosing the correct running boards for your vehicle. They are custom fit for your vehicle, and using the fit guide's going to ensure you get the correct brackets. The kits come with all the hardware you'll need to get it installed. And in most cases, there's no drilling, but there may be some on some minor situations. We're showing it off on our Ram here today, but it's available for most trucks and SUVs. And if getting in and out of your vehicle at night's one of your biggest concerns because you can't see for good footing, a light kit's available from Westin, which also looks pretty darn cool at night. But it's also going to help you ensure that you have secure footing when you're getting in and out of the vehicle because you can see what you're doing.Another thing I like about these running boards is how solid they feel. I've installed a lot of running boards here at etrailer, and that's one of my biggest concerns on some of the tube steps and stuff. When you step on them, you can feel them flex. And if you we're to bob up and down, they just don't feel very secure. But this one here feels really nice. As you're going up and down, we can see the truck start to sway, and you really don't feel it in the brackets of the running board. Compared to tube steps, I like the look of these a lot better. There are models that we have that are similar in size, because this is quite a bit wider than most of your tube steps, so you get better footing. But the other ones that are wide that have the crosshatching are great if you're looking for that aggressive look. But if you're looking for a more luxury type of look, I think this just blends in better with the chrome and molding on a lot of your trucks and SUVs.And that completes our look at Westin's line of Sure Grip running boards.
