Today on our 2000 Ford F-350, we'll be taking a look at and installing the Westin Premiere oval tube steps, part number 22-6020. And here's what our Westin running boards are going to look like, once they're installed. They're going to measure 6 inches wide by 75 inches long, coming with a polished stainless steel construction and oval design, with the protective covers in the front so no debris gets down in the slots. It's also going to have that nice sure grip step that's going to be nice and wide to ensure that you get the best step up into your vehicle, as well as a rear one for your extended cab vehicles. Now let's go ahead and see how sturdy they are. Open up your door and step on in. First thing we'll need to do is get underneath the bottom side of the vehicle and locate our mounting points.
We're going to have one mounting point here and one towards the front, located here. Go ahead and slide in our nut clip through the slot and around the sheet metal, until the holes line up. If you need to you can use a pair of needle nose pliers as well to wedge it in and straighten it out. We'll do that up at the front as well. Now we're going to take our bracket and put it up into place.
You want the bigger plate on the back side like so, where it'll line up with the holes. We'll take our bolt, lock washer and and lock washer and put in into place, so it'll look like this. Thread it in. Now we'll go ahead and put our bracket up into place, over the top of that clip nut like we did before. We'll take and thread in the hardware, just like so, lining up the holes on the bottom, or you can place your other bolts. All right, for these bottom ones, it's going to be a little bit different.
You're going to have your bolt, a flat washer that are come in from the outside. Then you're going to have your flat washer, lock washer and nut on the back side. Line up your holes. Since you see you have a little bit of room to move them around. Line them up.
Place your bolt in. Place your flat washer on, your lock washer, and then your nut on the back side. We'll thread it on by hand but we'll leave them a little loose. That way, when we get our running boards on we can shift and move everything around. You'll repeat the same process for the other three. All right, now here you see our brackets from the outside. We're going to go ahead and take the extension bracket and put it in place. Set that over the top with the rubber facing out and up, just like so. Then we'll take our running board, bring it up over the top. Take our clamps, which are going to look like so, and we're going to feed them up into the rail. All right, from the outside edge, feed it in and rotate it around, bringing the bolts out through the top, just like so, to where it has the ability to slide. Rotate it around and fit it into the extension bracket. Now you can see we will need to adjust it just a little bit to get it in place. Once it drops through we'll place our flat washer and nut on the bottom side to hold it in place while we do the other side. Now there's going to be four flat washers and lock nuts for each one of these. All right let's go over to the front and do the same thing. We'll go ahead and put our other flat washers and lock nuts on the back one. All right, now that we have all those in place and you can see everything is still going to be a little bit loose and have the ability to move around. Since you do have some room to slide back and forth, if you want it more forward or more back, we're going to pick an even point on both sides of the vehicle. We're going to line it up with the back side of the cab. Now we're ready to go ahead and torque our bolts down. You want to torque the ones on the back side first on the mounting bracket. Go ahead and torque those to manufacturer specifications. Now we're ready to go ahead and torque down our small nuts and bolts here. Remember that you want to try and torque them down evenly as possible when you tighten them. And that will do it for our reveal and installation of the Westin Premiere 6 inch oval tube steps, part number 22-6020 on our 2000 Ford F-350.

Straight-style, extra-wide step bars give your vehicle a rugged look. Polished stainless steel, oval tubes have molded plastic endcaps to keep out moisture. Oversize, 5" wide step pads provide sure footing. Custom mounting kit sold separately. Our "new" Dodge 2500 4x4 is a bit taller than our previous 1500... So we decided to install a set of tube steps to make life a bit easier. The 6" oval tube polished stainless steel from Westin was selected both for their great looks, and for their life time warrantee. Installation was relatively easy, an hour for the first side and 15 minutes for the other side! My biggest worry was getting the four factory cab mount bolts out, but had no problem. They look great on the truck, and my wife is now able to easily get in and out without a step stool!
I ordered The 6” Westin side steps for our service truck and within 12hrs they were being shipped. I was impressed how I was informed of each step of process and delivery. The steps are very sturdy and look great. I would definitely recommend the steps as well as etrailer.com.
These running boards were easy to install once I had figured out the orientation of the brackets to the boards. I put them in to help my wife get in and out of the truck.
Boards look great and function well. Very happy with them. I replaced some rotted out boards that came with my truck. My particular vehicle is older so install was not as smooth as there is some corrosion, but that isn’t fault of the boards. I also found directions to be quite limited and it took me way longer than I expected to install. I figured it all eventually though and I still happy with my purchase. etrailer.com is a great company to work with. I recommend etrailer.com to everyone I can.
Super easy to install and have held up well
Great product! Fits and looks superb!
