Hi, welcome back etrailer friends I'm Steven. Today we're looking at this Carr custom step side step. It's a black powder coat aluminum and it is a 17 inch step. Now this particular step's gonna fit a whole lot of years of the Dodge Ram, all kinds of cab styles, all year makes and models. That way you make sure it's a fit for your particular vehicle.

Now getting into this, this is a stylish step that is gonna let you get in and outta your vehicle with ease. Obviously, it's gonna help you get step up if you got a lifted truck or you just need to get some extra help inside the cab. It's a nice, large flat step. The surface has a non-slip, diamond tread. I don't know what you would call it, like I'm calling it diamond tread, but it's got some raised tread here.

It's gonna give you a nice secure fit on your foot when you're stepping in and outta the vehicle. It is what's considered a multi mount system, so it'll provide a simple and precise fit for your vehicle. There is some minor drilling required. The instructions that are included, I read through 'em. It's pretty easy to install.

Again, a couple holes you gotta drill out, but nothing major. You're gonna get all the material included here. The hardware rather. You got a couple of these plastic wedges that are in here and you got spacer blocks, nuts, bolts. I went ahead and put these two silver brackets up here on just kind of loosely, just kind of so you can get an idea of where they go.

As far as the step itself, it's a very nice, rugged, heavy duty aluminum. It's got that nice XP3 extreme black powder coat finish they call it. It does look like a really nice finish. A lot of times you open some stuff and it's got little burrs and chips, but this guy looks pretty dang clean all the way around. There's the backside of it and there's a closeup of those brackets I was telling you about. Again, they're on there loosely, so just keep that in mind here. Now this step is a 20 inch wide step, and that's 20 inches from side to side on the outside, and the part here that you can see is flat. That side to side is 17 inches, so you'll have 17 inches of step space and five inches wide. So I'm kind of getting an idea there with my hand how big that step is, and it's got what's considered a six inch drop. So if it was installed, you got a six inch drop from there to the step, rated of 500 pounds. Very nice beefy step. You're gonna get one step with this, so you will need two. If you need two of 'em for your vehicle. It does have a nice limited lifetime warranty. Very impressive made here in the USA.
