Video Transcript for WeatherTech Easy-Install No-Drill Mud Flaps Installation - 2017 Ford F-150

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford F150, we're going to be taking a look and showing you how to install the Weathertech easy install no drill mudflaps for the front and rear, part number WT110050-120050. It's also available for the front only, using part number WT110050 and for the rear only using part number WT120050.So here's what our Weathertech mudflaps look like once we have the installed. Now these are not only going to protect our vehicle, but also our trailer for any kind of road debris and anything flying up that may cause damage to the bottom side of our truck or and cargo that's on our trailer. Now it's going to come with the rear and the front as well. So we're going to have a whole set.Installation's going to be rather easy and we're not going to have to drill anything at all. It's going to use a factory mounting points along with a quick turn knob, that we're going to be able to attach directly to the fender.

It's going to come with a tool to tighten up and secure the quick turn knob. And the fasteners are going to be stainless steel, so we're not going to have to worry about any kind of rust or corrosion. Now these are custom designed. So they're going to follow the contours of our truck perfectly. And the material they're made out of is a thermal plastic resin. So it's going to have a extra long life span on them.

So if you're looking for some mudflaps to wither replace or upgrade the ones that you have on your truck. These are going to be a great option, that we're not going to have to drill into our truck. And they're also going to protect our truck from any kind of road debris. So now that we've gone over some of the features and seeing what they look like, let's go ahead and show you how to get them installed. So we're going to start on our driver's side front here. The first thing you're going to want to do is, you're going to want to turn the wheel all the way to the left.

So we have a little bit more working room right here. At the very bottom of the fender liner, we're going to have two fasteners that we're going to have to remove. So you're going to want to grab a 5.5 millimeter socket and we can pull those two out. You're going to want to hold onto the hardware as well. Now if we come down and just right behind that, we're going to have a plastic push pin fastener that's holding it in as well. So you're going to want to grab a flathead screwdriver or a trim panel tool or whatever you can get in there.

You're going to want to go underneath and try to pry it out and pop it out. So we can go ahead and pull our chip guard off here. Now there is another plastic clip holding it in place. So again just take a trim panel tool or a screwdriver, you're just going to pop that out of there. And the chip guard is not going to get reinstalled. Now behind that plastic guard, we're going to have two bolts. We're going to want to remove that front bolt right here, towards the front of our tire. But again we're going to hold onto that hardware. Be using a 10 millimeter socket to pull it out. So we're going to grab our mudflap now. Now at the very top here, we're going to notice that it has a little cam mechanism. You're going to want to look and it'll have a little lock symbol and an unlock symbol and a little silver tab. You want to make sure that, that silver tab is in the unlocked position. If it's not, you can reach over to the other side and just rotate it until the black piece is on top and the silver piece is all the way against that edge.So we can take our mudflap and we're going to line it up with the holes that in our fender and below. Then we can take the included hex key and we're going to slowly tighten that bolt. Now it will rotate into the locked position, that's okay. And we're just going to tighten that bolt while we're pressing against the mudflap up against the fender liner here. So it has a nice snug fit. It should stop on that locked position and you're going to snug it up until it's nice and snug. You don't want to go crazy tightening on it, you just want it nice and snug. Then we can take our factory fasteners and loosely put them back in place. Then grab that five and a half millimeter socket and tighten them up. Then we can put the other bolt towards the back of our truck back in place. Get it loosely started. Then grab that 10 millimeter socket and tighten it up.Now on the back side, again on the left hand driver side. We're going to have two plastic push pin fasteners holding this piece on the bottom as well as one on the under side, that's holding it in place. So again just take a trim panel tool and we're going to pop those plastic push pins out. And if you're having trouble getting them out or they break, that's okay. We can just go ahead and pop that out or cut the back side of it because these aren't going to be getting reinstalled. Just take a pair of cutters, cut it off. Then we can pull the excess out the back. Now again we're going to take our mudflap and make sure it's in the unlocked position. We're going to line up our holes with the factory holes. We just pulled those push pins out. Then we're going to tighten up that bolt using the included tool. And when you're tightening, you just want to make sure you keep pressure against the fender. And again you don't want to go crazy tightening you just want to get it nice and snug. Now to secure the mudflap and the other three locations. They're going to provide us with some screws. And we're going to take a flathead washer, go on the outside of that. We're going to go through the mudflap and then secure it on the back side with a nut. So if you come behind the fender here, you'll be able to get your hand in and get the nut in place and snug it up from the back side. And then we'll get that final one on the bottom in place as well. Now to snug up my hardware, I'm going to take a 7/16 wrench to hold the nut on the back side and a Phillips head screwdriver so I can tighten down those bolts. And we'll repeat that for all of our hardware. So with our drivers' side in place, we're going to go ahead and repeat that same process for the passenger side. And that'll finish up your look at the Weathertech easy install no drill mudflaps for the front and rear, part number WT110050-120050 on our 2017 Ford F150.

The etrailer portion of the purchase was excellent. Weather Tech was lacking. Hence the 4 stars. The mud flaps fit perfectly, however they lacked the ability to count the number of screws, washers and clips, needed. Instructions for other than just the front mud flaps would have also been helpful. I am very handy and was able to figure out how the rear flaps went on as well as having the necessary screws to finish the project. Emily H. was very helpful in the ordering process. The order ship time was very good 256124

Once you get them on, they are great. They look great. Problem is on the install. On a 2017 F250, the fronts don’t go on very easy. Be prepared for a fight. The screws that you take off the front of the truck that you are supposed to reuse is somewhat short. The outside screws are fine. The inside screws only bite the nut clip if you are able to push the clip forward somehow and really push the screw in. The width of the molding on the mud flap takes up any excess the screw had. Weathertech should send screws that are about 1/16” longer for the front. I finally got the front installed after 2 hours fighting with those 2 screws. The outside screws went in a little easier. The rear was very easy and took about 5 minutes to install. 476080

Look great on 2017 F250. Install is super easy. I was worried they wouldn't hang down low enough, but they appear long enough to keep debris off the body of the truck. Definitely not low enough to keep debris off a trailer if that's what you need them for. 496881

High quality mud flaps that are very easy to install and are very sturdy. In all, it took me approximately 1/2 hour to do all four flaps. Living in a snow belt, these have helped tremendously with reducing the amount of wet and dirty snow sludge that would cake my running boards and rear dually fenders. 240482

Was a little more time consuming being I have 20" tires and wheels. Not much clearance between the rear tires and the screws you need to remove in order to mount the mud flaps. I found it helpful to use a 1/4" box wrench with the supplied torx bit to remove the screws and that worked great. The front mud flaps went on with no effort as you are able to turn the tires out of your way. Weather tech mud flaps fit perfectly to the contour of the fenders even with the added corner guard that came from the factory. 435476

Look beautiful, fit is perfect, good size to hold the debris back. Installation is pretty simple, however I had to use a small rubber mallet to seat the pushpins included, no way I'm pushing them in by hand, too tight. Not a big deal, very secure fit overall. I would recommend these flaps 100%. Some pics included. 436756

Review from a similar WeatherTech No-Drill Digital Fit in Mud Flaps

I don't often order through the mail as I have been stuck with inferior products in the past. However, I took a chance on e-trailer and purchased a 4 set of mud flaps for my new 2016 RAM. I liked the idea that no drilling was required. I received the flaps in seven days from date order. They came wrapped good and encased in plastic. No dings or scratches. The flaps were of good construction and fit my RAM perfectly. The install took only 20 minutes by removing two existing screws, holding a flap against the wheel well and reinserting the screws. The only tool I used was a ratchet with a 5/8" head. My only negative comment is that the photograph of the WT110026-120026 shows a twist bolt to secure the inside bottom of the flaps but they were not on my product. However, my flaps fit secure and probably do not need the twist bolt. I also ordered a US Army trailer hitch cover but it is backordered and promised in mid Sep. I will do business again with etrailer. I am now looking for a small RAM logo to put on the two back flaps. 285536

Bought 2 sets of these, one for a 2013 Ford F150 and one for a 2014 F150. The price was the best that I found and the flaps went on really easy. It took me only 15 minutes to put the second set on. They looked liked a factory accessory on the trucks. The free shipping on orders over $99 was a plus. The delivery was quick, actually got them a day earlier than I expected. I have already looked at some other things that I intend to buy from etrailer after my hunting trip is over. Etrailer kept me in the loop by letting me know when the items were shipped and when they would be delivered. Great job and service from etrailer! 157023

As expected from WeatherTech, excellent quality, perfect fit, and pretty easy to install, maybe an hour for all 4 on our Ford Transit. A couple of suggestions: tell us in the installation instructions what size wrench we'll need (7/16") and save some guesswork. Installing the front mud flaps, instructions say to place nut in box-end wrench and slide down into small opening behind mud flap. You don't want that nut to fall out while you are trying to line it up with the screw, so secure it in the box-end wrench with a bit of sticky stuff for holding pictures on walls. Then, don't tighten the screw in all the way - there won't be room to get the wrench out. Get the screw started, pull the box-end off and use the open end to hold the nut while you tighten. 410560

I'd like to give this product a 5, but the top bolt on the front set is a little odd how you have to use a nut behind the metal instead of using the factory bolt and metal nut on the inner fender well. Both sets, front and back, are no drill and mount very easily. I have a 2015 that had the little rock guards that had to be removed, the factory plastic rivets are a pain, but there are included plastic washers to allow you to put the rivet back in. These should help to keep the road grit off my truck and hopefully prevent some rock chips on the rockers. 234551

Yes, the mud guards were delivered about 4:00PM today. At 6:00 I was done with the installation, cleaning up and putting tools away. The fronts installed just like the instructions with all the holes lining up perfectly with the inner fender holes and stock fasteners. The flares on my truck are not OEM but aftermarket "OEM Style" so I was apprehensive about the fit. But the flaps fit perfectly. With the rears I had to get a little creative. My truck is a stepside which doesn't come with flares as factory equipment. I guess the Flare manufacturer paid attention when he engineered them because the flaps fit the profile exactly. I used the mounting slots on the flaps to attach them to the wheel well. They look great on there too! 214794

Review from a similar WeatherTech No-Drill Digital Fit in Mud Flaps

I ordered Weather Tech mud flaps for my GMC Sierra 1500. The front flaps were easy to install by using existing fasteners installed on the truck by GMC. The rear flaps were slightly more challenging requiring the placement of clamps (integral to the flaps) on the rear fender. The entire installation of all flaps required about 45 minutes. they look great and they will protect my fenders from being damaged by road debris. 353555

Comments

The photos show road debris on the front and rear fenders that was deposited prior to installing the mud flaps. The debris was left in place when the flaps were installed. My idea was to show how the flaps would prevent road debris deposits in the future.

Review from a similar WeatherTech No-Drill Digital Fit in Mud Flaps

Good quality, packed well, but not exactly screwless in my case. As it turned out I did have to drill an extra hole both front and back. In the case of the front, the flaps actually had 3 screw holes, but my 2016 Ram 1500 crew cab didn't have a hole in the well well shield for the inner-most screw hole in the flap. So I drilled a hole in the plastic truck wheel well shield and used one of the bolts that came with the kit. In the back, the truck had 3 screws holding the wheel well shield to the fender, but the flap only had 2 screw holes. If I hadn't drilled a hole in the flap for that 3rd screw, the flap wouldn't have fit the contour correctly. None of that was a big deal. However, I was expecting the flaps to do a better job covering the tire. They leave 3-4" of tire exposed on the outside. I guess it's a matter of whether you're looking for appearance or function. They do look nice, but for me, I would have looked for a wider flap. 447960

  • Splash Guards That fit 2017 Ford F-150
  • The WeatherTech Mud Flaps # WT110050-120050 will require you to either use a trim clip remover to take out the factory plastic rivets; if you take a look at the part of the instructions I've attached it shows you the necessary step you'll need to take. If you only wanted the rear flaps that would be # WT120050 while the front is # WT110050. I've also attached a link to a video review of these guards for you to take a look at.
