Husky Front Mud Flap Installation - 2012 Ford F-150

Video Transcript for Husky Front Mud Flap Installation - 2012 Ford F-150

Today on our 2012 Ford F150 were gonna install the Husky custom molded mud flaps, part number HL56591. We've gone ahead and raise the vehicle and removed the front tire to make it easier for the installation. You have the option leaving the tire on and just turning the wheel towards outside giving you access to the inner wheel well. Your first step will be to clean the wheel well thoroughly. You need to make sure all the dirt and debris is cleaned and in outside edge around the wheel well. Next were gonna go ahead and test fit the mud flap.

Once we have the position we take a non-permanent marking tool and widely trace the outline of the mold flap. This will give us the contour and shape so that we are able to go ahead and adhere the protective film to the paint to protect it from the mud flap. Before we can adhere the protective film, well need to apply the application solution. Then we go ahead and remove the clear protective film from the backing and apply it directly to the vehicle. Then you can take a squeegee or a sponge and push out any moisture under the protective film.

Well go ahead and let it dry and set up before we install the mud guard. Now that the protective film is set up, we go ahead and test fit our mud flap in to position. Now we'll go ahead and mark the central hole. The reason well do this is because were going to drill a 1/8 inch hole through the plastic into the metal, underneath the plastic to secure the mud flap. Now with my hole marked Im gonna go and take my 1/8 inch drill bid and drill it out.

Now the hole created we go ahead and install the mud flap using the screw fastener provided with our install kit.As you tighten it down you want to double check your placement to make sure that the seam lines up well with the contours of the fender well. Now the mud flap secured in position to the center or B attachment point, were gonna go out drill the top and bottom attachment points, which will be labeled A and C on your instructions. With all three fasteners secured we can go ahead and reinstall the wheel and repeat the same process on the passengers side. And that will complete our install of the husky custom molded mud flaps, part number. HL56591 on our 2012 Ford F150..
