What is a Coaxial Speaker?
A coaxial speaker consists of a large main speaker (woofer) that reproduces bass sounds, and a separate small speaker (tweeter) that mounts above the woofer and reproduces high frequency sounds. Unlike dual-cone speakers that only use one driver to push sound through two attached cones (woofer and tweeter), a coaxial speaker has separate drivers for the woofer and tweeter along with a built-in crossover to control the frequencies sent to each speaker. This reduces distortion and allows for crisper, more articulate sound over dual-cone speakers.
How to Properly Measure for Cut-Out Dimension
There are two main dimensions you need to know when choosing a replacement speaker or adding a new speaker or speakers to your audio setup:
The cut-out diameter is the width of the circle needed to ensure the speaker mounts flush to the wall or ceiling.
The mounting depth is the depth needed behind the mounting surface for the speaker's frame and magnet structure to fit.

Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the Jensen 75 Watt Recessed Mount Marine Speakers in the gray color, for a quantity of two speakers. Now these are outdoor speakers. They'll project sound from your TV or radio onto your boat, RV or camper. These are a coaxial design, which features a titanium dome tweeter, and a polypropylene woofer cone. Now the dome tweeter will increase your high frequency sound distribution, and the woofer cone produces those nice space sounds and internal dampening. You can see they have a durable grade plastic frame and grill construction.
Makes it UV resistant and waterproof. They do meet the all salt spray exposure standard compliance and the UV exposure standard compliant. Now, these are a simple installation. You can see the four mounting holes right here. You just put your screws through there to attach them. Now the mounting hardware to install these is not included.A few specs on this.
Going to measure the overall dimension from one end to the other. It's going to be right at 7-1/8 in diameter. The depth of the speaker, from the back to the very front, is 3-1/4 inches. Now these are designed to fit into a cutout. The cutout opening dimension, it needs to be 5-1/4 inches in diameter by 2-3/8 inches deep.
The woofer diameter itself is 6-1/2 inches. The mounting holes, we mentioned to install these, the distance between the mounting holes horizontally, center to center and vertically, is the same 4-1/2 inches. Maximum wattage is 75 Watts; 35 watt RMS. Impedance is four ohms. Sensitivities, 88 decibels.
And the frequency response is 65 Hz to 20 kHz. The magnet weight on each speaker is 11 ounces, and it is for a quantity of two speakers. But that should do it for the review on the Jensen 75 Watt Recessed Mount Marine Speakers, in the gray color, for a quantity of two..
