Video Transcript for Furrion Marine Power Cord Adapter Review

What's going on, everybody. Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Furrion Marine power cord adapter. So this one comes in a nice carrying case, which I love it, but it's going to be a really, really short little converter. Pretty much, it's going to take 50 amps, which is the hookup that we have on our RV. And it's going to convert that 50 amp to the 30 amp plug here.

So a couple of situations that we might be in a bind.Let's say we go to a RV park, and the 50 amp plug is not working and, or it's just not there. This way, if we have a 30 amp cord like this, we can go ahead and plug this into our RV. And this is going to allow us to still get power. Yes, we're not getting all 50 amps, but this is just going to allow us to at least get something so we can get that AC running inside. So pretty much, we just need to make sure we have this connection here.

We're going to have three little prongs. One's going to be flat. The other two are not, and we're going to have the fourth little prong here, and that's going to line up with this section here. This is the fourth of all the different connections, but this is just going to be our second ground. So let's put that in there. I really like it because it's got a good grip on it.

It's really high quality. And then we have more little grips here to be able to thread this on, just to kind of keep all that water and stuff out of that connection. So we don't have to worry about it coming undone. The nice thing about it is, too, we do have an LED indicator here, which is nice. So let us know it's nice and powered up.

So now we'll go to the other end here. Kind of pretty much have the same exact deal. We're going to go ahead and grab a power cord and connect these up. We're going to have the same nice grips on this side. And we are going to have another LED indicator light, which I like those just because it'll let you know if it's powered up.So we're going to put that in there, twist it on. And luckily, we have threaded portion here to, again, just lock out all that moisture and just make sure that we have a clean connection over time. So now I'm going to go ahead and go over to our generator. We're not at a RV park right now, but we're going to be using a generator for today's video. So pretty much I'm going to fire that up, let it kind of warm up a little bit, make sure we're getting proper voltage out of it. And then I'll plug this in. We're going to see if the cord works, and we're going to take a look at these LEDs too.Now let's go ahead and start this up. As you can see, LEDs are lighting up on both ends. So we are having power now. I know it's a little bit harder to see, but it's on. So, let's go and make sure everything's powered up properly inside our RVFirst, let's just make sure if we have power. Not as good. And we do got to remember, we are going to be using only 30 amps instead of 50 amps, but that's still going to be enough for me to power my AC and my refrigerator. So that's really all I'm really concerned about right now. I want to be cool, and I want to make sure my food's good for the weekend. So let's see if it powers up. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Much better. Much better. So this is going to be great for pretty much two different AC units, maybe a couple other little appliances and stuff like that, but just look at all the specs of all the appliances. And if you are going down to 30 amps while you're used to 50 amps, just check everything and make sure you can power everything normally. All right. So everything worked good. It's definitely a smaller converter, which is going to be really, really easy to kind of store it. So, as far as how you're going to live with it, it's going to be fairly simple to be able to find a spot in the RV to kind of store it, not going to take up a whole lot of space. So all in all, it works really well. It gets a good connection pretty easily, and it just gets the job done. It's extremely sturdy and durable. So, over time, I can see this thing literally lasting for years and years and years. I like how it has a cap on the end there just because the bag is going to keep out a decent amount of moisture. There's not going to be any water that's going to be able to penetrate this material, but the zipper would, that's if we had it submerged or literally if we have a leak in our storage compartment. If it's dripping right on the zipper, it might get a little wet, but even if it does, this side's safe. I don't really think we're going to have that issue because it's so small. We'll be able to get whatever we need in there. And to be honest, there's a lot of room in there. If you really had another converter or something like that, I think we can fit a lot more stuff in here. I always like when stuff comes with carrying bags and stuff, so you really don't have to figure out a specific spot to put it. You know your converter is going to be in here, which is awesome. You never know what you're going to roll up to whenever you're going to random RV parks. That's why having some converters is definitely something you need to take into consideration. Other than that, that's pretty much it for our look at the Furrion Marine power cord adapter, and I'm Adam with etrailer.
