Video Transcript for Furrion Marine Power Cord Extension Review

Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with the etrailer. today we're going to be taking a look at the Furrion Marine Power Cord Adapter. This one is going to have a twist lock three prong on one side. It is a 30 amp cord. It's about 12' long, but the problem here is not length, but we have a 50 amp plug on our RV here. What we're going to have to use as an adaptor, but we'll get into that.As you can see here, it does come in a nice carrying case, which I really, really like.

All 12' of the cord are going to fit in there really nice. I really like this just because a lot of them don't come with carrying cases. This one does. Let's just go ahead and plug it in. Pretty much, like I said, 30 amps, 12' long.

We're going to have to be pretty close to wherever we are at. Usually 25 is usually what I like to use. But, today this is all we really have to work with, which is totally fine. Sometimes some unexpected things happen and it's always smart to be prepared with adapters. What we're going to do is connect these two. Luckily we can go ahead.

This is going to be pretty much exactly what it would be like if we we're connecting it straight to a 30 amp on our RV. We'll come in and then on the cord itself, we are going to have a threaded portion. That's just going to help keep all that water and stuff out and keep it clean connection. Act as if this is the RV, that's how it will hook up. But we're using this guy today.

Now this is just going to allow us to convert it over, plug it in and thread it on.All right, we had to move our generator a little bit closer. We're not at an RV park. We don't have the normal hookups. We are going to be using a generator for today's video. Before we plug in, we do want to let the generator start up, start making peak power. Then when we connect everything up, we're not going to be shorting to any appliances on the inside of our RV. Go ahead and do that. But you'll notice whenever I do plug this in, after it's nice and powered up, you're going to see a little LED indicator there, which is awesome. And also this side of the cable, along with the other side are going to have a nice little grip. You really don't have to worry about slipping or anything like that. My hands are a little sweaty. It's kind of hot out here, so that's going to help with that. Let's fire this up and and get going. First things first, we want to make sure we have power and we're good there. Now it is extremely stuffy in here. We only have about 30 amps to mess with, but that is plenty to be able to keep my refrigerator cool and of course, power my AC.Let's see if everything's going well. Oh, much, much, much, much better. Everything's working properly and we have enough to power everything I really needed in the RV. Well, everything worked great. Now let's just see how you're really going to live with it. We do have a weatherproof bag, so the water is not really going to soak into it, but we just need to make sure that we're not going to get any water up top here. We do have a little kind of Ziploc bag type seal on the top. Not really the greatest, but it is going to keep a lot of that water out. And the material is not going to let any water through. If we keep it in a storage area, down in our RV, if it gets a little wet or something down there, it's really not going to do anything unless there's actually water dripping down through here. That's just going to help all this resist against rust and corrosion over time. And it has a pretty flexible cord, not that long. I think I'll be able to get it in here pretty simply. With the grips, it's pretty easy to get everything undone. I kind of like that and it's really not giving me a whole lot of trouble. I think it's going to fit in here quite nicely actually. I might have to kind of maneuver it a little bit, but like I said, it's a little flexible so it might work.I'm going to see. This is a pretty big bag. I'm going to see if we can fit this adapter that we we're using in there too. If you have another adapter or something like that, you might be able to use the weatherproof bag to kind of protect this from anything. The nice thing about this thing, it has a little cap on it to kind of help that, but the bag's going to do that too.Yeah, the bag's plenty big to be able to even seal up everything, even if you do have an adapter. That's always a plus. You can use it for more stuff. Protecting your electrical components is something I like to do quite often just because it literally makes traveling so much nicer having all of the power in our RV. Nice thing about the cord in the bag, it doesn't take up a whole lot of space at all. It fits in the storage compartment quite nicely, but that's pretty much it for a look at the Furrion Marine Power Cord Extension. And I'm Adam with the etrailer.

Good quality product at a decent price. 652058

Quality cord. My only concern is the gray colored ring collar that twists on is a thinner and flimsier than the thicker black collar on my 25' cord. I'm not confident that it will hold up to long term sun or cold weather? 642087
