Video Transcript for Furrion 50 foot Marine LED Power Cord Extension Review

Adam: What's going on everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Furrion Marine LED power cord extension. This one is 50 foot long, but there's also one that is going to be 25 foot long. They are going to have a little 30 amp on one side, 30 amp male, and a 30 amp female. Has a nice little cover cap for it. And both of the sides are going to have a nice grippy piece to it.

So it's going to be really easy to kind of twist it into place. So if your hands are sweaty like mine, because it's hot out, you don't have to worry about slipping. It's going to make it easier on you. And on both of them, we're going to have a little LED indicator letting us know that it is powered, which is always nice. So the situation we're in right now, we're not at an RV park.

Well, let's just say we are. And the 50 amp plugin is not working and/or isn't there or someone's using it. Regardless, we can't use the 50 amp plugs. So what I'm actually going to have to do is grab a converter here. So pretty much it's going to convert from 50 amps on my RV to the 30 amps, which then I can connect my cord to it. So let's just do this first.

Converters are always extremely useful in these kinds of situations, just because you never know what's going to be at that RV park that you are going to. So just being prepared is always going to be a plus. So one thing I noticed right off the bat, this thing is extremely moldable. This is going to be pretty easy to kind of mess with. I really like it because it's not going to kink up or anything like that.

So in regards to living with it, it's going to be nice and easy. So let's go ahead and plug this on in, just like this. We're going to put that in there and twist this tight. And we're going to have a little threaded portion here just to keep all that moisture out and just make sure the connection's going to stay nice and solid. It has little grips here too, so it's nice and easy to do. Now we can go ahead and take the rest of it. I really do like this cord though. Of all the ones we've been messing with today, this one's the most malleable, I would say. There is a lot of it. I really don't need the 50 footer, but as you know, we're hooking up to a 30 amp power supply when we're usually used to hooking up to a 50. So maybe having a 50 foot cord is going to make it a little bit easier to get to wherever you need to go. But I guess one downside for it being extremely malleable is it does get kind of tangled up. So be mindful of that. But I always just go with a little bit longer than I usually need. And it's going to have the same exact plug on this side. But we're going to be using the generator today. But what we need to do first is I'm just going to start it and let it get up to peak power. And then I'm going to plug in because I just don't want to short any of the components on the inside of the RV from power. So let's fire it up. All the LEDs are on the power cord, which means that we should have power here. So let's check with these LEDs and see if they work. All right, we got power. But what I'm going to do is turn on the AC. It is steamy in here. So yes, we're not using the full 50 amps, but 30 amps are still going to be good to be able to power our AC unit, which is nice, but also our refrigerator as well. So it's going to be able to keep all of our food nice and cold, even though we're not getting the full 50 amps.Cool. So everything works great. Now we're going to coil this guy back up. It was a little tangled earlier, so just be kind of prepared for that. But like I said before, it's an extremely malleable cord. It's really easy to kind of mess with. Yes, there's a lot here. So that kind of makes it a little difficult, but that's with anything really, but it is nice and easy to be able to get everything all coiled up and take this off real quick. I really do like these fittings. They haven't been used a whole lot. We just got them from our inventory, but they slide on there really, really nicely. And the cool thing about it is with the female port over here, we can cover up this cap. So hopefully we keep all that moisture and stuff out. So it's going to thread on just as nicely as it did with me today. So all in all, whether you just need the 50 foot one or the 25 foot one, it's definitely a good cord and it's going to get what you need done. Well, everyone that just about does it for a look at the Furrion LED power cord extension. And I'm Adam with etrailer.

I am sorely disappointed in the quality thickness of this cord. At 50', I would expect it to be much heavier than my existing 30' cord! It's maybe 25% of the weight and much thinner. I am very concerned that the wires can handle the electricity. 6 904159
