Video Transcript for Feature Review Blaylock EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock for Lunette Ring Couplers

Jeff Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Blaylock aluminum EZ lock trailer coupler lock for lunette ring couplers. Now, this coupler lock is help prevent theft of a trailer that has a lunette ring coupler that'll accept the pintle hook. It's a nice aircraft-grade, lightweight aluminum construction. It's very strong.

Resists wear and corrosion. Basically, it's the two heavy-duty cast aluminum disk that'll fit inside the lunette ring coupler. And this 3/4 inch diameter steel pin slides through the center of the lock just like that. And then, this stainless steel Master Lock padlock that has this hardened steel shackle will secure that pin in place. What's nice is on this Master Lock padlock, it uses a shielded shackle which protects the shackle from any cutting or prying.

And this shackle is a hardened steel shackle for cut resistance. The lock they use on this is a four-pin lock cylinder which is pick-resistant. And it does come with two keys. Also, what's nice about this, when you do put the key in there and unlock it, the key will not come out. It retains the key.

That way, it ensures the padlock is not left unlocked. So, what we're gonna do now is I happen to pull a lunette ring coupler. Now, this will fit either a 2 1/2 inch or three inch lunette ring coupler, meaning the diameter of the eye right here on the lunette ring. So, this one happens to be a 2 1/2 inch I think. Let me just get the ruler.

Nope, this one's a three inch, so this is a three inch opening right here. So, the way this would work is this lunette ring will be on your trailer and then this hooks to your pintle hook. So, what you wanna do is go ahead and put one of these aluminum disk on the bottom. Put one on the top. And then, what you'll do is take your steel pin and slip it all the way through there till it comes through just like that. And then, take your Master Lock padlock, and you see the hole right in there. Line it up, the shackle with the whole. Turn your lock until it goes all the way through. Once it goes all the way through, remove the key, and now it's locked into place. So, right now, you can see that this is in your lunette ring. It won't let this hook on to any pintle hook. So, basically, if you have an unattended trailer with a lunette ring and this installed in there, there's no way anybody's gonna hook up to it and take it. This part is made in the USA. Few specs again, it will fit most lunette ring couplers that have the, either the 2 1/2 inch or three inch eye. Total weight on the lock itself is only about three pounds. And again, just to remove it, go ahead and put your key in there. Twist that shackle and that removes the lock, remove the top part, remove the lunette ring, and then, there's your lock just like that. Now, we do also sell these parts separately.
