I like the design of their bags and haven't gotten a new one for a couple of years. So I decided to give them another try. As usual the zippers are disappointing. The pulls promptly broke off with almost no pressure applied to them. It is astounding that after so many years of bad zippers on great bags Thule still is pinching pennies on their zipper budget. The zippers are consistently undersized, break easily and have terrible pulls. Aside from the zipper it is a good bag. I was looking for something that was mid sized, long weekend type of bag. This size works well. And the crush proof pocket is nice. Also like the dark blue color, will be easy to spot on the luggage carousel at the airport.

First off, I have just received the Thule Crossover roller, so no time to give a report other than service for eTrailer, and first out of the box. Customer service was EXCEPTIONAL. I also ordered a extra package that was not in stock, eTrailer called me to let me know, and instead of waiting for the package to ship both together, they agreed to ship them separate. Not many places will work with you on that. Now, on to the bag. Like I had stated, first sight only, the main reason I wanted the Thule roller was for the tough looking set-up for the wheels. Im a truck driver and park in gravel lots sometimes. They look good in the video, better in person. I believe I will enjoy this bag for years to come. Their video's are VERY helpful.

I have been traveling for business for over 29 years and have seen it all suitcase wise. Years and years ago I landed on the TUMI brand of luggage for quality and functionality. However, a month ago a fellow traveler had pointed out the “Thule” suitcase and since my current case has seen better days I decided to take look. Up until then I honestly thought Thule was just high end bicycle racks and luggage roof top carriers. In those arena’s Thule always had put more effort into their design & structure than the rest of their competition, I respect and appreciate that and truth be told it does reflect that in there pricing. But you all know you get what you pay for.
I work in an extremely technical/mechanical industry and product research is paramount before making any technical decisions. That standard rolls over into my personal life and I like to think I am better off for it as I do not make any uninformed purchases.
After a substantial amount of time researching and speaking with Thule directly on multiple occasions “four times to be exact” they have proven that there suitcase line adheres to the same high manufacturing & design standards as the rest of their well-known products. The Thule TCRU122BLK 45L suitcase is absolutely fantastic and puts my beloved Tumi’s to shame. It is an expandable 45L model and can be used as a carry on. There is a suit carrier that comes with it but can be removed. It has a 25 YR warranty. I could go on and on with technical, materials and product info and bore the lot of you, but in an effort to keep you from falling asleep on your WWW devices, I’ll keep this short.
Make sure to get this exact one the 45L model versus the similar “but substantially smaller” 38L model. While the 38L is nice the extra available space makes all the difference in the world.
There are a lot of places out in the world that say they are selling the TCRU122 and say it is a 38L if you find a place like that pass them by as they don’t have the correct info and don’t know what they are talking about. This is where etrailer.com came into the picture for me. I have been a customer for years and years and purchased many things form them both directly and indirectly and they have always been extremely knowledgeable and efficient. Padded laptop compartment provides good protection for the laptop. Haven't had a problem going through airport security, just unzip the laptop compartment, lay it flat, and put it through the X-ray. Good amount of storage space for a messenger bag, but is not awkwardly big. I really like this bag.

This bag was awesome! It slid right into the overhead bins on the airplane without having to smash or shimmy it even though it was packed full. This bag is big enough for several days worth of clothes. It also has several zippered compartments for easy organizing. This bag has a sturdy feel and the wheels roll smoothly. I recommend this bag!
