Steel Adarac

Heigh ho, it's off to work you'll go with this elevated truck bed rack. Get 500 lbs of raised cargo-hauling capacity to go with your truck bed storage. Use the rack for work and haul ladders, lumber, pipe, and rebar. Or take a break from the mines and use your Adarac for play, strapping on kayaks, canoes, skis, snowboards, or hunting equipment.

Tonneau Compatibility

Adarac is compatible with Access tonneaus and other inside-the-rail truck bed covers, so it gives you added hauling capability without sacrificing your covered truck bed storage.

Streamlined Look

The Adarac truck bed rack is tailored specifically for your vehicle. The streamlined, tapered rack sits neatly behind your cab, and the top rails extend above your roof to allow you a clear rear view. The black powder coat finish helps to protect the rails and uprights, and the rustproof aluminum crossbars won't chip or fade. This rack will look great even after years of use.

Rails and Crossbars

2 Slotted utility rails run lengthwise along your truck bed rails, giving you lots of tie-down options for securing a load inside your truck bed. Safely lash down your elevated cargo using the overhead crossbars with integrated mounting channels. The built-in channels are located on the underside of each crossbar and allow you to secure your accessories. Tie-down slots at the top of each vertical upright bar provide additional tie-down points.

This truck bed rack is fully adjustable along the length of your truck's cargo area. You can adjust the uprights according to the size of the load: unbolt the upright bars to spread them apart for long loads or to move them closer together for shorter cargo.

The Adarac easily bolts on to the top of your vehicle's bed rails using stake pocket inserts - no drilling or welding is necessary. And you can remove the rack whenever you need to. So even if you don't want to whistle while you work, the Adarac custom truck bed rack makes transporting your equipment quicker and easier.

Video Transcript for Adarac Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack Installation - 2008 Ford F-150

Speaker 1: Today on our 2008 Ford F150 we're going to be installing the Adarac Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack, part number A90630. This ladder rack's going to be custom fit for your truck. Now you can take objects that you'd store in your bed, put them up top freeing up bed space, and also be able to carry longer items than your bed would normally allow. This will be great for those onsite jobs such as construction or carpentry, for your ladders, lumber, and other items. It's also great after a hard week's work for your recreational activities. You'll have a little over 5 feet of load capacity. From the bed rail to the top of the bar it's going to be about 26 inches.

There's adjustable mounting locations, so you can adjust your load bars closer or further away. To change the location, you just loosen your bolts here, take those out, move your foot pack to a new location, reinsert your bolts, and tighten them down. This way, you can have them further apart for your longer ladder racks and loads, or you could position them closer for your smaller loads and allow your truck bed to have the full access without contacting the bar when putting in a tall load. These slotted holes also function as tie down points, so that way you've got a spot to tie down at any point in your load. The contoured uprights are going to be aerodynamic to help reduce wind noise and drag, and it's going to look great with your truck, too. This rail's going to stick up a little bit above your cab.

In our case here, it's sticking up about 3-1/2 inches from the top of the cab to the bottom of the rail, and from the top of the cab to the top of the rail, it's going to be about 4-3/4 inches. This way, if you have any loads that slide forward, you know it's not going to contact the roof of your vehicle. These are going to be compatible with both access and inside the bed rail roll up tonneau covers. This is going to be an easy no drill installation. It's going to go right down into your stake pockets and secure it solid to the top of your truck bed rails. Your uprights have a black powder coat finish that's going to make it look great and be rust and corrosion resistant.

It'll work with universal roof rack accessories as long as the dimensions for your load bars match your accessory. Now, when comparing this rack to an aluminum rack, it definitely has a sturdier feel. There's no wobble in it whatsoever. It is a bit heavier when installing it, but it's worth it if you need that extra stability. Out here, we have all the tools we're going to need to do this install. We're going to need a deep well 9/16 socket, a ratchet to drive that socket, and a flat bladed screwdriver.

Now I'll show you how to get it installed. To begin, we're going to need to make our stake pocket plates. Take one of the clamp plates and some string that comes in the kit, thread it through the holes. Now take an alignment plate and thread it on the string. Then take one more alignment plate and thread it on the string. Now take your line, make it even, and tie a knot in the end. This will be used to hold our stake pocket plate when we go to install it. Now do that three more times so you have a total of four.Next, we're going to install the rail plates onto the legs, so grab your rail plate. It has two threaded nuts in it. Thread in these shorter 9/16 head bolts. Now repeat that on the remaining three legs, so all four have their sliders ready. That'll complete our preassembly, so now we can start putting it on the vehicle.Remove the covers from all the stake pockets. You can use a flat bladed screwdriver to pry it over and pop it up. Do this for all four. We're going to put our driver's side rail on now. To denote which one's the driver's side, the warning label will be present on the driver's side rail. We're going to set our rail up there. Now we'll take our stake pocket assemblies we made, run the string up through the bottom of the rail, and we're going to drop the stake pocket down into the stake pocket hole. Pull it up tight until it comes into place. Now that you've got your stake pocket clamp pulled up, take the long bolt and washer, thread it into the stake pocket clamp. Do the same thing in the front. Now that you've got the front one put in, you'll repeat the same steps on the other side.Next, we need to measure our rails to make sure that they're all parallel and aligned properly. Measure from the back of the rail to the back of your truck bed rails, and make sure that they're even on both sides. Now you want to measure the front and back side of your rails, and make sure that they're even. After you've got everything lined up, check your tailgate clearance to make sure that'll open and close properly without contacting the rail. If it does, you may need to adjust it forward. If you adjust it forward, you can go as far as the edge of your truck bed in the front. You don't want to over-extend the cab.Now we can go back and tighten down our ladder rack's side rail bolts. You're going to use a 9/16 socket. Once you get them snug, you can go ahead and take the string out, and then you can continue tightening it down. Now, you want to make sure you tighten it until your alignment spacers have no play or rattle in them. It comes with additional spacers if you need to add or remove any for this to operate properly. On our application right here, we only need two spacers. Now you're going to want to repeat this process for the remaining three. Now we're going to put our ladder rack rails up. Now, these can be assembled on the ground. You can take both your legs and your cross beam, put them together, though it will take two people to get that up into place, holding it, starting your bolts. It can also be done with one person by installing your legs on the rails first, and then putting your beam up. We'll show you how to do that now.The orientation of the rail does matter left to right, front and back. You want your curved edge facing towards the outside in either the rear or the front. Since we're installing this in the rear, we want it facing towards our rear. Line it up with your holes of your choice, slide your carriage bolts through, and start your lock nuts on the other side. Now repeat this on the other side. Now go back and snug your bolts up a little bit. We don't want to go all the way tight, because we still want to be able to adjust our rail. We just want to get out a lot of that slide to make it easier to put our cross beam on.Now we're going to slide our cross beam on, push your slots up, slide your beam down, and go to your other side, lift it up on its beam and slide your rail over. Now you want to measure your overhang and adjust the distance on both sides. Make any adjustments as necessary until it's even. Now tighten your bolts down. This is going to also use a 9/16 socket. Then you can go back and snug up all your remaining hardware. To wrap it all up, we just need to insert our end caps. We've got four, so there's one for each end of your cross beam. That completes our installation of the Adarac Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack on our 2008 Ford F150.

I installed the rack this morning with no issues. Simple process that took about an hour only because I am picky about everything being square, even and perfectly placed. I was surprised that the unit was as heavy duty as it is. I was expecting something much lighter in gauge of steel. It sits very sturdily on the truck with zero movement. Even my wife thinks it looks rather stylish (neither of us wanted the work rack look). Thanks for the great service and follow up after the sale to let me know it had shipped, you received notification of delivery, and how I liked the product and install. I've learned through experiences that this is the kind of service one can expect from 522883

Used it heavily the last year. Held up my rooftop tent during my entire month long roadtrip. Easily held over a thousand pounds of weight. Comes off quick if you need to use the whole bed of your truck. 610757

Well packaged by shipper and no damage occurred to the racks during shipping. Easy to install and solid product. I had to slightly modify to fit my roll back by grinding about a 1/4" off the box side of the rails. If not for the need to use a grinder on these install would've taken about 15 minutes. No big deal either way. Looks good and these racks will do what I need them to..... Haul Ladders. Next I will be installing the rack em racks on my enclosed trailer. 416840

Super easy to install, very sturdy! I found that it worked great for my canoe! I especially love the adjustability of the rack, and all the tie down holes in the base rack for bungies. I wrapped some pipe wrap up top, and used some C-clamps to customize... or you can pay big time for the yuppie version. This is better than the 1 x 2 / 4 x 4" lumber redneck version, and a lot cheaper than the brand name rig. I highly recommend! 542223

Best ladder rack I have ever purchased, hands down. Better than the TracRac, and only half the price. Quality is by far better than any other. Easy set up and take down. Wish I would have bought this one years ago!! 339096

Chose this rack because it is compatible with the Access Lorado Tonneau Cover. The rack is very well made and simple to install and remove, which I do often due to fifth wheel towing. I use this rack often for ladders and canoes, as well as long length construction materials. Etrailer is lightning fast with shipping, customer service is great and their prices, including free shipping, cannot be beat. Very satisfied with Etrailer and the Adarac! 291957
