Specs:
The NOCO GB500 Boost Max jump starter provides commercial grade performance in a compact and portable design. Rated at 6,250 amps of starting power, it can easily jump start gas or diesel engines up to Class 8+/CE. This means it's great for trucks, semis, buses, construction equipment, and commercial vehicles with high-displacement engines. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 400 jump starts per charge. A built-in LED work light and charging ports for 12V and USB devices make it a great addition to any job site or maintenance center.
The GB500 removes the frustration of having to find or wait for someone to give you a jump. Just attach the clamps to the vehicle's battery terminals, turn the unit on, and start your engine. It's that simple.
The GB500 was designed to provide a simple, user-friendly experience. Back-lit LED indicators let you verify that the unit is operating correctly, and they allow it to be easily operated at night. These indicators signal the unit's charge status and alert you to potential performance issues or errors. This allows you to identify if the unit is too hot or cold for operation or detect a reversed polarity connection to a battery.
The touch-button interface allows you to turn the unit on or off or activate the LED work light at the push of a button. The manual override feature can be selected to jump start a deeply discharged battery, below 2-volts. It is important to remember that when this mode is activated, the unit's safety features will be disabled.
An integrated digital voltmeter makes it easy to tell the current charge of your battery, up to 30-volts. This helps determine if the battery is fully discharged so you can accurately troubleshoot why a vehicle won't start. If the voltmeter displays 12.7-12.8V for 12V applications, or 25.4-25.6V for 24V applications, you know the battery's good. It also helps you tell if a battery's condition is below 2-volts and would require the manual override feature to be activated.
A heavy-duty dial on the front of the unit lets you select between 12V and 24V lead-acid battery systems. The tactile design ensures that you feel the switch lock into the selected mode. There is also a LED indicator for quick visual confirmation of the current setting. Tin-plated copper conductors allow the unit to quickly adjust the maximum current to match the selected battery type.
The Boost Max battery clamps included with the GB500 are built to handle the toughest conditions. Unlike typical, plastic battery clamps, the Boost Max clamps are constructed entirely of metal, ensuring maximum conductivity. The clamps are covered with an over-molded plastic housing, which makes them easy to operate even with work gloves on. And the durable 2/0 AWG silicone cables remain flexible in cold weather so you won't struggle while positioning the clamps.
High-tension springs in the clamps let them tightly grip top and side post battery terminals, and prevent them from slipping during use. Multiple rows of teeth provide multiple points of contact between the clamps and the terminals, ensuring a strong connection.
The cables connect to the GB500 using cam-lock connectors that let you quickly attach or disconnect the battery clamps. To attach the cables, line up the raised section of the plugs to fit the cam-lock connector ports. Once connected, twist the cable to lock the cables in. This will prevent them from coming loose or accidentally disconnected during use.
From jumping a dead battery to changing a flat tire, the GB500 has you covered. The unit has integrated LEDs, with 3 brightness settings, which can be used as a work light in low-light conditions. It can also function as an emergency beacon. Just choose a flash pattern, SOS, blink, or strobe, and then set the unit behind your vehicle to increase visibility and safety.
The GB500 also doubles as a portable power source. The included 12V plug lets you quickly connect to accessories and enjoy 12V power on the go. For road-side emergencies, you can easily attach a tire inflator to help get you back on the road. Or bring it camping and attach a fan, coffee maker, cooler, hair dryer, or power inverter for added comfort.
The unit also has 2 USB ports, which make it easy to charge 2 smartphones, tablets, cameras, wireless headphones, or other devices simultaneously. This is great when you're in an area where power may not be readily available, like a campsite.
The table above provides a quick reference for how many times you can recharge your USB devices before the unit itself needs to be recharged.
The GB500's lithium-ion battery can be recharged from 0 to 100-percent in as little as 6 to 8 hours, from a 12V AC or DC power source. Rapid charging technology allows the unit to convert energy up to 30,000 times faster than a traditional lead-acid jump starter. You can easily charge the GB500 while on the go with the included 12V cable that plugs into a vehicle's aux port, or cigarette lighter socket. If your around the house or shop, the included 56-watt AC adapter allows you to plug the unit into any available wall outlet.
The GB500 comes with rubber covers that seal the connection points to protect the unit from dirt, dust, and water. With the ports closed the unit has an IP65 rating, which means it can withstand multi-directional, low-pressure water jets and is completely sealed against solid particles like dust or sand.
The housing is made from tough lexan resin that protects the internal electronics against impacts. The unit can handle being dropped, kicked over, and just about anything else the work day brings with it.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at these NOCO Boost Max Jump Starter. This is going to allow you to revive your dead 12 volt or 24 volt batteries. This is going to be a great option to have on hand for your lead acid battery systems whether it's a gas or diesel, RV, truck, semi or bus, this can pretty much jump anything including your construction equipment. So really nice to have on hand to make sure that you're never going to have to worry about a dead battery. On the inside, it's got a powerful 266 watt hour lithium ion battery.
So it's going to provide up to 400 jump-starts off a single charge. Once you get it all charged up, it will hold that charge for over a year with minimal power loss. So just charge it up, get it stored away in your storage compartment or under your seat, whatever the case may be, so that you always have this option to get your car jumped, if your battery does die. And you can see, we've got very simple operation here, very bright, visible buttons and whatnot. The first, most obvious, is our dial, between our 12 volt and our 24 volt settings.
So depending on your situation, get that set to what you need. Up at the top here, we do have our power button. Gonna turn that on, you can see right now, it's not very charged up. So it's going to tell us what our current charge level is. We do also have a digital voltmeter down here.
That's going to display the voltage of the battery that we are connected to. So we can tell if the battery is discharged, how discharged it is, that sort of thing. It will read voltage between 3 volts up to 30 volts. We also have a manual override button down there. That's going to allow us to jump a battery with a charge below 2 volts.
So if you do not see any voltage, once you get hooked up there, that does mean that it's under that 3 volts. So either you have something running in the car that's drawing power and you need to shut it off or you can use that override to get it just charged up. Jumped to that below, if it's below that 2 volt setting. On the other side here, if I turn this back on, you'll see a quick color flash. So we've got a blue and a red button or LED light here. Those are our temperature monitors. So our blue is cold, our red is hot. So if that is a solid color whether it's blue or red, it means that the temperature is approaching the limits of the unit. If it's flashing, it means that it's gone beyond what is operational for the unit. So this does have an operating temperature range of negative 22 degrees Fahrenheit, all the way up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. So you'll probably never, never have to deal with that. But if you do see those lights come on that's what it's indicating, helping you know what's happening with your unit. On the front here, we do have our 12 volt plugs. So this is going to a 12 volt IN, is going to allow us to charge our unit. So we've got this adapter here that allows us to plug right in and then we've got the opening there. They do include several different kinds of plug-ins. The one that's probably gonna work for most of us is this simple AC US adapter. So we just plug that right into the wall and get this charged up. It will charge up in about 8 hours from your AC or DC, 12 volt source. They also include, believe these are European, maybe some other sort of options here. So depending on where you're using this, you'll have a couple of different options there but most likely for the viewers of this video, it'll be the US version. So they do include that. You can also hook this up, alternatively with the 12 volt plug here. So you can just plug that into any of your 12 volt female ports that will also charge it up. Well, we can reverse this, employ this into the 12 volt OUT and have a 12 volt port for our tire inflator or power inverter, that sort of thing. So we got a lot of options just in that set up there. Our next little flap is going to give us access to our 2 USB ports. Those are 2.1 amp USB ports. So it's going to allow us to charge up our smartphones or headphones, our tablets, portable speakers, that sort of thing. Anything that gets plugged into a USB should work there, do a good job of getting that charged up, so we can make phone calls in an emergency situation, that sort of thing. I'm going to turn this to the side. You'll be able to see our 2 LED work lights. These are going to be a very bright light, up to 2,200 lumens. I want to turn this on. It is going to be very bright for you. So you can see the brightest setting there and we can turn it to a lower setting or the lowest continuous setting. Then it goes to the SOS setting and I'll have to go back through the cycle there to get to the next one. That's just your continuous strobe. And then your alternating strobe. If you click through them fast enough, you won't have to start over each time but I wanted to demonstrate a little bit there. So you can see, whether you're needing to get someone's attention. If you're broken down on the side of the road or if you are needing to have a steady work light, so that you can make sure that you're getting everything connected, you're going to have several options there. Then below that is going to be our connection points for our battery clamps. So we open this up and you can see, we do have these cam lock connectors. So at the top of our connector, there's going to be that little knob there. So that'll go in at the top and twist. That's going to lock it in place. So we don't have to worry about pulling these loose. As we're moving around, trying to get everything hooked up, it'll be nice and locked in. These clamps are a heavy duty, spark proof and reverse polarity resistant clamp. So it's going to be very easy to get these connected to our battery. Get everything hooked up. Now these do have about 2 foot spans. So not a whole lot of room, probably won't be able to set our unit on the ground and reach up to our battery but it should be able to lift it up into the battery compartment and use these 2 foot span clamps here. This is going to be a nice, compact, lightweight design because that lithium ion battery. This only weighs about 19 and a quarter of a pound. So very lightweight, easy to maneuver. As far as our dimensions go, it's right about 12 and a quarter of an inch wide by 8 and 3/16 of an inch deep and only about 6 and 3/8 of an inch tall. This can be stored in your cargo area or toolbox but they also include this nice storage bag. That's very easy to put everything in here, take it along with you, it zips up. So you have storage compartments for your cables, your connectors, and then you're also going to have access on the side here for your light and your ports, for your cables, and then snap button opening there. It's going to give you access to all your control knobs and that sort of thing at the front. Nice and padded. So it's going to provide a little bit of protection for you, and again just provide storage for all these additional cords and everything that you're going to have, you want to keep on hand. So nice little option to keep it all stored away, but overall, a really nice jump starter for you. Have on hand to ensure that you're never going to have to worry about a dead battery. And like I said, this will work for just about anything, farm equipment, ATVs, whatever you have. This is going to be a great option to keep on hand. So that's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

I have not had to use it very much, but when I have it has started my battery and other's that I have helped also. Lightweight and easy to use. Handy USB connection to charge, but I have had mine in the pickup for 6 months and it was still charged and still jumped a dead battery. I do not think you should leave it that long without charging, but I guess it shows how well this device works!

I have used my NOCO to start my truck and my Ford Tractor. The tractor was out in the brush and very difficult to get to with jumper cables. The NOCO paid for itself with the tractor because I didn't need to have a service call. You hope you don't need it often but when you do, it is a life saver. For a hundred bucks one should be standard equipment in every new car.

We have excellent experience with the Noco Battery Jumper. With Covid our cars and lawn tractor have long periods where they are left idol. The Noco jumped them all back to life without any difficulty.

Have been an etrailer customer for years. As usual, my order arrived in a very timely manner. I have carried a lead acid battery type of emergency jump battery in my car for years. I purchased one for my adult daughter but, she does not carry it in her car because of it's size (she always has things in the trunk) not to mention she never remembers to charge it. I had one of the lead acid types corrode and leak acid inside the unit and ruin it. This time I purchased two of the Noco 1000A GB40 units, one for me and one for my daughter. Because of it's much smaller size, lithium battery, power output and ability to hold a charge for longer periods. maybe she will keep it in her car.

These hold a charge for months. Have used to charge devices like phones, speakers and flashlights and start my truck when “someone” left the interior light on for a week!

I've owned this unit for a full year now and used it several times. Like all of these things you have to read the actual directions, which I failed to do the first time. The unit and the boost function work great. I've jumped super dead cars, and larger trucks with it with no issues at all. The unit feels like a quality build and has a nice case. Another superb product from etrailer.

Watched my friend jump start his outboard motor with this NOCO charger. Also had ports to charge cell phone for weeks. With this hurricanes plowing through, invaluable...if power goes out.

Have had this for over a year. Takes up very little space in my car. My battery died while out of town this summer, used it to jump start my car, drove straight to an auto supply store, got a new battery - no muss, no fuss. I have AAA but this was so much easier than waiting for them to show up.

Excellent product; it's already saved my butt from being stuck -- at a gas station, no less! Instructions were clear and concise; accessories were extremely helpful and easy to use. More drivers should have one, maybe more.
