Video Transcript for Review of Duracell Jumper Cables and Starters - Jumper Box - DU57FR

Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the Duracell Emergency Power Jumper Box. This gives you a lot of things in one unit, it gives you a battery jumper. So if you happen to be somewhere, your battery dies, you can use this guy to jump that battery. It gets you back to rolling without having to have another vehicle come and rescue you. It also gives you an air compressor.

So if your tires are flat, maybe you need to air up some accessories of those big floaties, they take forever to blow up on your own. You can blow them up with this guy, fill your bike tires, all kinds of stuff, anything that you'd want to fill with that compressor hose. And it also has a light. And you can also charge your accessories off of it. So a lot of things in one really handy to have as just an emergency supply, mostly for that battery jumping capability and the tire inflation. But again, just gives you all those options.

So something good to keep in your car, if you're an RV or maybe you're on the road a lot in your work truck or something like that, or really just having it in your garage or around is always a good idea to have. So let's take a closer look, talk about some of those features, I'll show you how it all works and to make sure that this is the right choice for you. So we've got our box here. It's pretty portable. It doesn't weigh too much, about 10 pounds.

So should be pretty easy to use for just about anybody. We'll have our two clamps on either side to hook up to our battery. So it does have a dedicated spot for those to live. Something I like, so you don't have just wires clanking around everywhere.Pretty easy to recognize; which, red is the positive, black is negative. It does have that embossed on there as well, the little plus and minus signs.

So to charge your battery, you just connect those to the appropriate terminals on that battery. And then they'll turn it on. That little dial there. And once you give it a minute for that battery to charge a little while you can turn on your ignition should be good to go, and then you can disconnect your plugs. Turn it off first and then disconnect the clamps there. So pretty straightforward as far as that goes, does have a light on the one side. So if you need a little bit of illumination, you can turn that on. It's nothing super duper bright, but it's just always nice to have a light, especially if you're trying to jump that vehicle in the dark.So just to give you an idea of how bright that is. It's not quite bright enough for my camera to really like to focus on it, but just to give you that idea there. The way to turn that on, is by pressing and holding on this button here, on the one side. If you just press it, it'll turn on the USB port, which is right here. And it'll also give you a readout for how much power is left in the battery. And right now it looks like we're about at 75%, so about a quarter down. If you press that again, it'll turn that off and also get rid of the lights there. The other light right here would be, if you have those clamps reverse. It does have a reverse detection. So it'll alert you to that by that little red light and let you know that you need to switch those clamps around. And we'll also have a 12 Volt DC connection here. So this is like your cigarette lighter in your vehicle. You can plug stuff into that, charge it from there. Again, you can charge anything from that USB port as well. So your phone or a speaker or something along those lines. As far as charging the unit itself, it does come with a cord which lives in here. And that's also where the hose for your tire and flare lives. So I'm going to pull that out and I'm also going to turn on that tire inflator or the compressor. Now it's really loud just to let you know, it's not quiet at all. That's just the nature of compressors they are loud. So just want to give you that warning, maybe turn down the volume a little bit on your video so you can not get deafened by the sound. And when I hit this button over here, it's going to be this one to turn on that compressor. So we also have a gauge so you can see how much pressure you've got built-up.So I was trying to put my finger over that compressor to create a little bit of pressure buildup, just so you can see that dial move. But that's going to be really handy for inflating your tires to make sure that you get to the right PSI. This can go all the way up to 160 pounds per square inch. Definitely should be enough to inflate any kind of tires. Most of your vehicles on the road, just your normal tires, your cars, SUV's, trucks and stuff like that, will be between about 25 and 35 pounds per square inch. Typically, at least that's pretty typical of what I've had on any vehicles that I've ever had to inflate. Usually my tires are about 33 pounds per square inch. So 160, that's more for like RV tires. They start to get to really dense or a lot of air pressure in there. So it should still be able to inflate those, which is also really nice. Now, as I mentioned, the cord to charge, this does live inside here. It's just going to be an AC cord or that typical wall plugin. And that you will plug in right here. So there's a couple of prongs. You just pop that cord on there and plug it into the wall and charge this guy up. It does have some safety features, so you don't have to worry about overcharging, if you leave it plugged in, it'll cut off the power. So you're not going to damage it by leaving it plugged in. So plug in and forget about it system. They do recommend that you charge it after each use, or once every three months, just to keep the battery inside here, healthy and working properly. That's pretty much all there is to it for our look. If you want to see all the detailed specs of what kind of power output this has, you can find all of that at our website here at etrailer.com. It does work with AGM and sealed or nonspillable batteries. So inaudible 00:06:26 that kind of lead-acid type battery, does not work with lithium. Just to keep that in mind. And it can also work for 4, 6 and 8 cylinder vehicles. As far as size. We'll give you a few measurements just real quickly. It's about 13 inches by about 10 inches, a little bit less than 10 inches. And then, it looks like it's about 5 inches wide.Just some rough specs there. So should be pretty easy to stow this away, especially if you're putting this on an RV or a boat or anything like that. Should stow away into a compartment, a little bit big for an SUV or a car, but if you've got to work, truck should stow away, pretty easily. Find a place in your garage for it, no problem. And again, weighs about 10 pounds, so it's not too hard to move around. But I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right solution for you. We do have some other options available here at etrailer.com, but our goal is always to get you the right part the first time. So again, I hope this video helped. I'm Ellen here at etrailer. Thanks for watching.

I used this straight from the box to add air to my pickup air bags. Previously I had a different brand jump starter tire inflator but it died. This Duracell has much more jumping ability and the inflator is a lot quicker. Overall I’m liking it much better than the other brand. It’s also lighter and slightly smaller and will take up less space in the RV storage box. I highly recommend this product.
