What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the Duracell jump starter and compressor. Now this runs at 900 peak amps, and this is gonna be good for jumping any kinda vehicle you got. It works on 4-cylinders, 6-cylinders, 8-cylinders, gas engines, diesel engines. It's gonna be great for if your vehicle doesn't start or for whatever reason you got a low battery, left it sit too long, this is gonna be the easier the solution, to hook this up to your battery, get it started, than getting the jump cables out and hooking up to something else. Let's check it out.

First thing we're gonna look at is the cables. It is the most important part. It's probably why you're looking at this. How do they hold up You got a decent amount of reach. The good thing about this is it's small, it's easy, it sits up here right here in the engine bay, and the only space you could really have room to put it, and it's really stable.

So you can put it right next to your battery. You don't need that much of cable length, but you got plenty here. Then the clamps themselves, they have a lot of good resistance in 'em, have a good snap, which is good. They are kinda small, but they open up pretty wide, so I don't think they're gonna be any problem, especially if you have a side-mounted battery, where you have to get on to those really little attachment points there on the side. It'll still click on there and hold 'em nice and tight 'cause it's got that tension built in.

Also them being color-coded helps you out. That way you know exactly which one is which with the logos on there, too. So you see the negative for the ground and then the positive for the positive side. Let's go ahead and hook it up and see how it does. You can see how wide it got, got around that whole terminal there at the top.

Same with that one, gonna hold on it pretty well. Can see I'll move the cable back and forth a little bit. It's not gonna pop off there on ya, stays on there nice and tight. And with everything hooked up, what you need to do next is turn this knob to the on position down here. Just do that, but this battery isn't dead, so we don't need to jump it. I'm not gonna do that with this. It also protects against having the cables crossed, so I'm gonna hook 'em up wrong, and you'll see a light and it'll beep. So it tells us before we even flip this switch that we got the cables crossed, we need to flip it around. That way you don't damage the unit or your battery. Another thing you may have noticed when I was unraveling 'em is that they store nice and neat on the box on the side. I really like that part because I have jumper cables in my car, and those get all tangled up, and I just put 'em in whatever compartment they'll fit in, so they always come out a tangled mess. This way, if I had this in my vehicle, it'd be nice and neat, I wouldn't have to worry about it. Now let's check out the compressor. It's all back here in this compartment, also with your plug to charge the whole thing fits in there. You have a couple different attachments for the different objects. This would be for a soccer ball or basketball, and these are for inflatable things, so you can use your compressor for not only just your tire but air in whatever you need. First off, I like that this screws on. It's not one of the lever-action ones. I have a bad compressor in my vehicle, and that lever just usually lets more air out than it's worth or comes undone as you go. This screws on there, I can pull on it, it's not gonna pop off on me, which is nice, because I don't wanna stand here the whole time or sit here and watch this gauge. I can go away and come back and check on it. With that screwed on, it shows that we are at 55 psi. So it really doesn't need any more air, but if you wanted to do it, you could hit the button here, and that's gonna start it. As far as it operating, it does say that it can run for 10 minutes, but then you should shut it down and let it cool off. So 10 minutes is a pretty long time when you're airing up a tire. You can go up to 100 psi also, so it's perfect for most vehicle tires. Just keep an eye on that 10-minute mark. You wanna let it cool down. Go on 10 minutes, off 10 minutes. It's not gonna be very fast, but it's better than nothing. I'd rather have this in my vehicle just in case I need a little bit more air to get to the gas station, to get where you need to go, and then continue airing up there if it's super flat. But if you just needed a little bit more, this is gonna be great. Taking a closer look at the front of our jump box here, you can see the air compressor button clearly labeled over here. You can hit this to see where the battery level is. You can see we got a full charge here. If you hold it, it's gonna turn on the light for emergencies on the back side. It doesn't look like it's super bright, but it is really helpful when we turn out the lights in here. You can see how much it actually helps. It's gonna help you see in those emergencies that are at night time, just to see that there's the battery, you can see it better and hook up the clamps to it. It's nice to have. Then we come back around the front and you tap that and hold that button to turn off those lights. You can see the USB port. That way you can charge any electronics you have on with ya for the same emergency reasons. Maybe your phone's really low, you can't call for help if you need to, you can plug this in and get that charge going. Over here is the 12-volt port. You can plug that in for any of those accessories that you have that might need a 12-volt. And on the back is where the compartment is that holds the air hose, also the power cord and any accessories for the air hose. This is nice that it keeps 'em all nice and neat inside. That way all that stuff's with you whenever you need it. Down here at the bottom, you'll see this tab you can pull out. That's where the power cord plugs in. It's real easy fit, plugs in like that, and then you can plug into your wall. Now it's plugged in, it'll light up and show you where it's at charging-wise. Speaking of charging it, you wanna make sure you check it every three months, because the battery can go down on its own, much like your vehicle if you don't fire it up and it sits for too long, that battery's gonna die. So recommend checking it every three months, just hit the button, see where it's at. It's gonna take about 12 hours to charge it if it's completely dead. So it's one of those things where probably just take it out of the vehicle when you get home for the night, plug it in, should be good to go the next day. You can just throw it in there, and just remember to check it every three months, because it's not gonna be any use to ya if it's completely dead. Another thing about it is it's got 12 amp hours, so that's gonna be plenty. You're not gonna lose all the battery in one jump, if you we're to just jump a vehicle, it would still have some battery left. If you just use the compressor for a little while, it's not gonna kill the battery, either. It's got plenty in there to do multiple tasks. Overall, I really like it. I think it's gonna be a useful to have. I've been in those situations where I needed something like this, and all I had was jumper cables, and that's a pain. I don't like calling somebody else, asking them for help, or going over to a stranger, asking them if they can jump my car. It'd be much easier if I had this. I could just throw this on there, connect it, and go. And plus, with the air compressor on the inside and the gauge, that's just two less tools you have to have in the back of your vehicle. You have this back there instead of having a gauge for the tire check, a compressor by itself, then something that jumps your car. This is all one, it's gonna help you out in most emergencies you're gonna come across. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out, and I hope this helped..

While we don't carry the Duralast Jumper Box 700 that you have what you are describing sounds like a low battery situation or one that won't hold a charge if it's been on the charger and still showing that code. Most likely it has an internal issue if it won't hold a charge and best option would be a new jumper box like with the part # DU37FR.
