Hey everyone, it's Evangeline, and today, we're taking a look at our Goal Zero Venture Jump Starter and Charger right here at etrailer. So the Goal Zero Venture is a great thing to keep around inside your vehicle in case of emergency. Not only does it have a lithium-ion battery that can charge your phone up to three times, it can also jump start your car, truck, vehicle, motorcycle up to 10 times. At around the size of your daily journal, it's easy to store in random places like your basement right here, just cover it up, and then it's ready to go when you're ready to go. The size of the case is 10 inches long by a little over seven inches wide, so I'd like to say 7 1/4 inches, and then for width, it's going to be 2 1/2 inches. You have an easy to use carrying handle here if you need to carry it around, and then you've got a zipper enclosure, so you just open up that zipper, and then you have access to all the goodies.
Quick overview of the things included, you have the two detachable clamps to attach to your battery, you have a USB-C and two USB-A charger, and then you have your jump starter and power bank. What is not included is the wall outlet block, so if you have one of those, I recommend just storing that inside of the extra pocket of your case, that way, it's ready to go. Let's start with the power bank, and this is a hefty, but also, sturdy power bank. You can see that it has these grips on the side as well as the rubber sleeve, and then underneath, you have your ports. So to maintain its waterproofness, those ports are covered by a rubber block, this seals out that moisture, but it also give you some indications for what goes where.
You have the jumper cable port, you have the input charging port, and then you have two five volt ports to charge your other devices, this pops out to give you access. This will arrive partially charged, but you can also press on the power button, which will turn on the indicator lights to show you how much charge there is, and if you hold that power button, the flashlight will turn on. Now, that flashlight is not very strong, but it can be helpful if you're fumbling around in the middle of the night, you don't really have any other light source, you need just enough to take a look at where your battery is and where your other things are. So with that rubber sleeve and that rubber block for the ports, this is rated at IP67 for weatherproofness, which means it can handle dust, sand, dirt, it can even be submersed in water to up to one meter deep for up to 30 minutes. If your vehicle needs to be jump started, remember that these can only be used with 12 volt led-acid batteries, so most of your vehicles, your cars, your trucks will have those kinds of batteries.
And the first thing you're gonna do is connect the clamps to your battery on your vehicle. So follow it as usual where you go positive to positive, and then negative to negative. And then you're gonna have that port on your battery that connects to those special jumpers. You can see how the light is red, but when we connect it to the battery, it should change. And now it's green, showing that it's ready to jump.
So wait a few seconds before attempting to start your car, this will time out after 30 seconds, and you can see it's turned red. So when that does that, disconnect everything, if you have not yet been able to start your car, disconnect the clamps, and then reconnect again. 30 seconds is not a lot of time to start your car, especially here, we have it in the Prius where the battery's in the back. Once you plug in your Venture jumper, you're gonna have to run over to the driver's seat, try to start your car, and get it started before 30 second is over, and if it's not, you're gonna have to redo everything, so make sure once you plug this in, you go. There's a lot of safety features involved in this too. Notice how the plug is shaped differently, that is to prevent you from moving it to the wrong side just like how you have to line up your positive with your positive and your negative and your negative, this helps with that. There's also other features like with this indicator light, it can tell you if you have your positive and your negative incorrectly placed. Also, it tells you if there's a short that's been detected or if you don't have enough charge. So that's how you charge your car. Again, you can use this to charge all types of other devices too. So like for your phone, this has 10,000 milliamps, which means depending on your battery size, I can charge my phone about three times with this, for your stronger smartphones, maybe less, for your other items that have a smaller battery, you can charge them even more. If it's super cold or super hot outside, that can decrease a battery's life, but the operating temperature for this is from -13 degrees Fahrenheit all the way up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. So again, this is designed to use for emergency purposes, so keep it stored inside your vehicle. But with things being stored in your vehicle, how often should you check it It's nice that it has an easy indicator light, but I personally recommend checking it once every two to three months, just checking that battery level, maybe charging it up, so that way, in case of emergency, you have this. And that was a look right here at our Goal Zero Venture Portable Jumper and Charger here at etrailer. My name is Evangeline, and I hope you enjoyed the journey..
