Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Recon Side Sportsbar cargo bags from XG Cargo. So they have kind of a couple of different orientations of these side bags for your Jeep. These are going to be the Recon side bags, but they also have the Magellan and the Gama. Really the only difference between the bags is that they're going to be positioned at a little different spots. So this particular bag is going to be kind of up in the corner of that sportsbar. So this would be facing towards the front of your Jeep.
So it kind of fits into that right angle made by the sportsbar. So this would kind of be there in place of your window for that back seat in your Jeep. You can orient this so that the bag, so that this portion is facing out or in, it doesn't really matter which way you want to do it. It kind of depends on how you want to use it.Both sides will have the stitching here, these attachment points for any kind of (molly) or any other military-style attachments. So this is a system that utilizes those kinds of straps that go through, and then you can build on different attachments for all kinds of stuff.
A lot of brands use them now. So there's a lot of different things you could attach and build on here. And there's also going to be the same thing on the back. It just doesn't have the high-contrast stitching like it does on the front with that orange stitching. It's just going to be black on black here. There's also a back zipper pocket as well.
So you can sit stash the little stuff back there. The front has kind of a similar thing,, pocket, but it has a little mesh bag inside or mesh pocket inside. And there's a bit more space. This one in the back is a bit flatter because there's a reinforcement panel in the back of this to give it some structure and stability. So both of these bags are going to be exactly the same. You get two.
So one for either side. Inside the main compartments, open this up. And we'll have a few different dividers. So this would be a really good place to stash any kind of tools or smaller gear that you want to keep separated. Kind of hard for you guys to see inside, especially since it's all very black on black on black, but there's little pockets, some little narrower, some little wider, so you can stash all that stuff inside. And then there's a bigger pocket towards the back for your bigger flatter items. It's also a little cable. So if you want to attach any kind of ropes or maybe keys and have them hanging off of this hook, you can do that there. So it should be a pretty nice way to keep everything organized. The bottom of this inside compartment does kind of match up to the pocket on the front. So there's a floor to this inner pocket, kind of hear that in there. So this pocket is separate from this one that has its own little structure and reinforcement. So if you want to keep stuff separated or you have something a little bit heavier in this top pocket, you don't have to worry about it coming down and crushing whatever you have in here. Reinforcement along this side and this top side, as well as a handle up top. So if you want to take this with you, you can.So for instance, if you rock climb, you can have all of your gear in here, all your ropes and everything else, and then detach it from your Jeep, take it with you. Makes it pretty easy. These straps have some padding to go around the sportsbar and protect it from any kind of scratches and abrasions. And also something that's kind of nice that it has this quick disconnect. So it's just like a little metal clasp. So just doesn't require too much pressure to open that up, but it holds together really nicely. So just to show that again. Open it up, close it up. It makes it pretty fast. And that's going to be the same for all three attachment points on the bag.As far as specs, the numbers with this. Again, you get the both storage bags. They measure about 19 inches tall by about 17 inches wide. And then about three and a half or three and three quarter inches thick. The cubic space in here, we'll get a 0.75 cubic feet of space per bag. So about three quarters of a cubic foot per bag here. They do have a three-year limited warranty. These will fit the 2007 through the current Jeep Wrangler. So that's going to be the Jeep JK and the JL. Pretty simple to get installed. I think these are nice looking bags. Again, there are the two other styles, the Gama and the Magellan that are pretty similar to this. They just mount in slightly different spots. So if you want to check those out, you can find those right here at etrailer.com. Again, I'm Elena here, and thanks for watching..
