Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Bestop TrailMax II Fold & Tumble Black Denim Vinyl Rear Bench Seat. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 1997 to 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ models, and on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, this part here is a replacement for your factory rear bench seat that's on your Jeep Wrangler. This model here is a Fold & Tumble rear bench seat that'll not only provide seating for your passengers, but it also has the capability of being stowed away to increase storage space. Basically, when you stowed this, the back seat here will fold forward, and then you can raise the whole seat up, which opening a larger cargo storage area without the hassle of removing the whole entire bench seat.
So what I wanted to show you is right over here on the side, there's a handle here, so if you just push that handle, you can see that the back will fold down just like that, and then if I spin that around and we zoom in on the very bottom, you'll see this hook seat latch right here, you'll just move this and unhook it, and then the whole thing will fold up flat, and then you'll open up a whole bunch more space. The seat bottoms, once you fold these up, the seat bottoms are coated with a nice weatherproof carpet to give you a nice smooth look when they're stowed, and the seat can be unfolded in seconds. Zoom back out, and then to open this up, all you have to do is just pull this, oops, and it'll latch right in place over here, and then keep the back up. If you noticed right here, the seat does feature the dual headrest for comfort, so basically, you can adjust by pushing on the button, and you can adjust your headrest up or down, can even take them off if you don't need them, and you just put them back in there just like that. And then on the very back of the seat itself, it does have a nice zippered pocket right here that you can just unzip it, and then right in that pocket, you can keep small items in there.
Zip it close. The TrailMax II seat coverings, they are constructed from a premium vinyl fabric that'll maintain its shape in any temperature. The foam in the seat, it uses a waterproof closed-cell foam, which provides nice comfort, maintains the seat shape, and the fabric is designed to resist damage from the elements, mildew, and UV rays, and regular wear and tear such as abrasions. The color on this is a black denim color that is a factory match to the black denim color on the Jeeps. The seat frame is electrostatically painted, helps resist corrosion, and they hand weld it for added strength to ensure that your seat maintains the shape.
Now, to install this, it is a bolt on-installation, comes with the two floor mounting brackets, comes with the striker plate here, and these parts will install using the existing hardware that's on your Jeep right now. Basically, these floor mounting brackets, they'll just slide onto the side here, one on each side, and they'll replace the existing floor brackets, and again, as I mentioned, you use the existing hardware from the factory ones. And then the striker plate, that's gonna install back here, and this is what this will hook to, right here, and the striker plate basically installs underneath the seatbelt mounting bracket, and as we mentioned, uses the existing hardware to bolt it down. But again, as you can see, if we just push that handle, you can rotate the seat down, leave it flat like that, and if you release the latch here, you can fold it all the way up for the extra storage. And when you're done, you can just lift this all the way up until it locks into place and you're ready to go.
