Video Transcript for JR Products Hitch Pin and Clip Review

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the JR Products Hitch Pin and Clip. This is for your two and a half inch, like what we have here, and three inch hitches. So here we have our standard five eighths pin for two inch hitches. Compare that to our JR Products hitch pin, and you can see some differences, mainly the span. So for your two and a half inch hitch receivers, you're gonna want a longer span. This one has four and three quarter inches of usable length.

This can also be used for your three inch hitch receivers because of its length. Now, notice with the clip here, it goes into the hole just to help keep the everything in place. Everything is made of steel, but they also have this chrome plated finish for looks, but also to help resist corrosion. Very easy to install, as long as your accessory is lined up in the hitch pin hole, you can pop this through. This also will work with your two inch hitch receivers.

Just be mindful of the extra space that is needed around the hitch pin so that you can use it. Now, the diameter of this pin is five eighths of an inch, which is pretty standard for your class three and above hitch receivers. And you saw that right here. This was a look at the JR Products Hitch Pin and Clip for your two and a half inch and three inch hitch receivers at etrailer.com.

Worked as expected

by:

This pin is exactly what I needed. The clip is heavy duty too. The right tool for the job!

by:

Description said it was 5/8" in diameter but it's just over 2" in diameter length said 4-3/4" span and it was almost 6".

Thank you for your review. This hitch pin is for 2.5 and 3 inch hitch receivers. To measure the diameter, take a ruler to the end of the pin instead of around like your photo suggests. Also, we measure the useable length of the hitch pin so not the bent part that does not go into the hitch receiver. Please watch this video for more info:

Great selection. Found just what I needed. Shipping was quick

by:

I wanted a longer hitch pin to make it easier to install and remove (the clip on the hitch pin I had was right up against the receiver - hard to install or remove). This was perfect.

by:

For the larger hitches this pin is perfect. Because of all the thefts, I prefer to take my entire hitch off and remove all doubt. This pin is perfect for the occasional towing job. If I was going for something more permanent I would probably want a locking pin.

by:

Nice hitch. Innovative. Being able to easily pivot the ball hitch out of the way when unused is very nice. A 3" hitch isn't cheap. I'm happy I spent my money on this one.
And above all, made in America with American steel!

  • Recommended Hitch Pin to Use with 2-1/2 Receiver and Ball Mount on 2016 Dodge Ram Pickup
For a hitch pin to use with the 3 inch outer diameter (2-1/2 inch receiver opening) hitch on your 2016 Dodge Ram Pickup, I recommend the Hitch Pin and Clip for 2-1/2" and 3" Hitches - 5/8" Diameter x 4-3/4" Span # 37201065. This Pin and Clip is designed to fit 2-1/2 inch or 3-inch trailer hitches and has a diameter of 5/8 inches, making it compatible with the 5/8 inch hole on your ball mount as well.

  • Hitch Extender for 2-1/2 Hitch on 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty
It seems like you have a 2-1/2" hitch on your 2016 Ford F-350 and for that you can use Extension # RP45292, which you can secure to your hitch with Pin and Clip # 37201065, though be aware it may not work with some OEM Class V hitches that have rounded edges. This extension can be used at 34" which will give you a towing capacity of 4,500 lbs or 6,000 lbs if you are using a weight distribution system. Keep in mind this extension will reduce the receiver to 2" so if your current ball mount...

  • Stainless Hitch Locking Pin for 2-1/2 inch Receiver with Keyed Alike Trailer Coupler Lock
Yes we do have a stainless hitch locking pin for 2-1/2 inch receiver with keyed alike trailer coupler lock. You will want part # e98881. This part has an inside width of 3-1/16 inches. I have included a link to a video review of this lock for you. When ordering the parts you will just need to choose the keyed alike option that is located just under the price on the product page of that item.

  • Recommended 2-1/2 to 2 Reducer Sleeve for 2019 Ford F-250
The hitch reducer sleeve I strongly recommend for the 2-1/2" hitch on your 2019 Ford F-250 is the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve # BWRHXA2182 because it has two sets of pin holes to allow for a more custom fit on your Ford hitch. If your F-250 has a Ford factory hitch or Draw-Tite hitch, insert the reducer sleeve so the pinched ends face the sides; if you have a Curt aftermarket hitch, insert the sleeve so that the ends are positioned on the top and bottom of your receiver. That sleeve...

  • What Tool Can be Used for Cutting Down Titan Hitch Box Extension
A cut-off wheel would be great for cutting down the Titan Hitch Box Extension # RP45018. Most people without access to those type of tools use something basic like a hacksaw for cutting the extension so your set up is going to be a much less strenuous process. As far as brackets that attach to an OEM hitch, that is not something that we offer, and there is going to be a bit of back and forth play with the extension, but it will be firmly in the hitch so long as you use the proper pin and...

  • Does Longer Hitch Pin Need to Be Used for etrailer Magnetic Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve
Since the etrailer Magnetic Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve # e28JR fits into a 2-1/2" receiver you need to make sure the pin you're using is able to reach all the way through. Some pins made for 2" receivers can still fit the larger 2-1/2" receivers, but as a general rule of thumb you'll likely need a larger pin. If you don't already have one I recommend picking up the Hitch Pin and Clip # 37201065 which is just a standard pin but it will work with this reducer sleeve perfectly.

  • Will Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount # AMSCV-6 Fit Factory 2-1/2 Inch Hitch on 2019 Ford F-250
The Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount # AMSCV-6 referenced in your question will work perfectly with the 2-1/2 inch factory receiver on your 2019 Ford F-250. This sturdy steel ball mount will slide right into the 2-1/2 inch receiver without the need for an additional adapter and its polyurethane interior acts as a shock absorber to reduce bounce and vibration. It is made right here in the USA and features an 18,000 pound towing weight capacity. You will just need to add a standard pin and clip...

  • What Size are the Mounting Holes on Draw-Tite Pintle Hook Combo # C48200
I walked out to our warehouse and measured the mounting holes of the Curt Pintle Hook Combo # C48200. The holes measured 9/16 inch in diameter, and the kit includes the necessary 9/16 inch bolts. If you have the Titan Forged Pintle Hook Mounting Plate # RP45294, it will match up to attach to the Curt Pintle Hook Combo # C48200. You will also need to use a 5/8 inch diameter pin like the Titan Trailer Hitch Pin and Clip, part # 37201065.

  • Class V Trailer Hitch that Will Fit a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 with a Factory Installed Trailer Hitch
You will not be able to remove the factory hitch on your 2007 Dodge Ram because it is welded and integrated into the bumper cross member which it welded to the truck frame. You would need to use a hitch that fits around the factory hitch. For a Class V hitch, you can use Curt # C15809. This hitch will also give you a 2-1/2 inch receiver and a capacity of 2,700 pounds tongue weight and 20,000 pounds gross trailer weight. Since you have a 3/4-Ton truck I assume that you have a 2-1/2" square receiver using a 5/8" hitch pin. We don't have a stainless steel option, but you could use the etrailer # e65TR which has a 4-1/2" span and it has a durable black finish or the JR Products # 37201065 which has a 4-3/4" span and is chrome plated.

The Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Ball Mount for 2-1/2 Inch Hitches, part # AMSCV-2, will fit your 2011 Ford Super Duty if it has a 2-1/2 inch receiver. It has a towing weight capacity of 18,000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 2,000 lbs. This ball mount has a 2 inch drop and a 3/4 inch rise. To determine the drop or rise you will need for towing you will need to measure the hitch height on your truck. With the vehicle parked on level ground, measure to the top of the 2-1/2 inch receiver...

  • Can Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount Fit 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Receiver
There is not a multipurpose ball mount that fits a 2-1/2 inch receiver, but that said, you can use a reducer sleeve for your 2-1/2 inch hitch and it won't reduce the tongue weight when using the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers # D210. Tongue weight capacity is reduced with hitch extenders, but not with sleeves, so you won't lose any capacity with the # D210 and the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" # C45405. • How to Use Bike Rack in 3 inch Trailer Hitch of 2017 Ford F-350
What you need is the Buyer's Products part # 337RTA302 which fits your 3 inch hitch and gives you a 2 inch hitch for the bike rack to fit. This slides into your 3 inch hitch and then gives you a 2 inch hitch that sticks out a bit from the 3 inch hitch opening. This allows the bike hitch pin to work normally since essentially the rack is attaching to a 2 inch hitch like it is designed for. You'll need a pin for the adapter in the 3 inch hitch; use # 37201065 for a pin or # 63259 for a lock.

  • Why Wont etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit Fit Ford Factory 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Receiver
The reason the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kits for 2-1/2" Hitches - 3-1/2" Rise or 5" Drop # EBMK25518 (as well as 1-1/2" Rise or 3" Drop # EBMK25318) will not fit the factory 2-1/2" hitch receiver on your 2018 Ford F-350 is that those receivers have edges which are a bit rounder than standard hitch receivers and this ball mount has square edges. I recommend checking out the Titan Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Receivers # 45123 which has a 5" drop and from the accompanying photo you can see how the...

I may have a solution for you, but the # AUT-F352-RB is designed to fit on 2" receivers; you may be able to make it work, but it's just going to rattle around back there. The only hitch cover we currently have available for 2-1/2" hitches is the # C22277, which would fit on the 2-1/2" receiver you've got. • Weight Capacity of Curt Class V 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Receiver, Part # C15810
You are correct that the product description for the Curt Class V 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Receiver, Part # C15810, shows the same tongue weight and gross towing weight ratings with and without weight distribution. This is because unlike lower capacity hitches, say a Class III, this Class V hitch is already rated at or near the vehicle structural limits. Strictly speaking, adding a weight distribution setup would give this hitch receiver higher capacity, but it would serve no purpose. Unless...
