Lets Go Aero Trailer Hitch Lock - 63232

  • Fits 2 Inch Hitch
  • Universal Anti-Rattle Lock
  • Keyed Unique
  • Lets Go Aero
  • 3-1/2 Inch Span
  • Spring-Loaded Pin

This anti-rattle hitch pin dramatically reduces any movement or vibration of your ball mount in your hitch. Included lock ensures security for your hitch accessory. Designed for use on hollow-shank ball mounts and accessories. 5/8" Pin diameter.

Features:

  • Trailer hitch receiver lock is used in place of standard pin and clip to prevent theft of ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory
    • Secure your bike rack, cargo carrier, hitch cover, and more to your trailer hitch
  • Anti-rattle pin reduces play and vibration in the hitch connection
    • Place block with spring inside shank of ball mount or hitch accessory
    • Slide ball mount or accessory into hitch receiver
    • Insert pin through hitch pin hole and anti-rattle block with spring
    • Twist pin with wrench (sold separately) so ball mount or accessory is pulled tight against side of hitch receiver wall
  • 90 Degree, barrel-style lock comes with 2 round, rubber-coated keys
    • Weather-resistant rubber dust cap keeps cylinder free of debris
  • Zinc finish is corrosion resistant
  • Sturdy steel construction

Specs:

  • Application: 2" x 2" trailer hitch receivers
    • Ball mount or hitch accessory must have a hollow shank
  • Pin diameter: 5/8"
  • Inside pin length (span): 3-1/2"
  • Overall length: 5-1/2"
  • 30-Day warranty

Notes:

  • This lock is not rated for use for flat towing.
  • This lock will not work with some factory 2" trailer hitches that have an outside width wider than 3-1/2". If a longer pin length is needed, see hitch lock SHP2040-XL
  • This device can only be used with hollow-shank ball mounts and hitch accessories.

The Silent Hitch Pin from Let's Go Aero takes the rattle and play out of the connection between your trailer hitch and your ball mount or hitch accessory. The unique design features a sturdy steel block with an attached spring that sits inside the shank of your hitch-mounted accessory.

Silent Hitch Pin DiagramSilent Hitch Pin Close Up

Place the block inside your ball mount or hitch accessory, and line up the hole in the block with the pin hole in your ball mount. Slide your ball mount into your hitch and insert the hitch pin. To activate the anti-rattle device, just twist the pin with a wrench (sold separately) to tighten it down. Doing this will pull the accessory up against the wall of your hitch receiver, thus keeping the accessory from moving around inside your hitch. No more annoying clanking or vibrating.

The 90 degree, barrel-style lock goes on the end of the anti-rattle pin to provide security for your hitch-mounted accessories. Two round, rubber-coated keys are included with the lock. A sturdy rubber dust cap comes attached to the barrel lock so that you can easily cover the lock cylinder, thus ensuring that no dirt or grime will get in to damage the lock.

There wasn’t enough room on my Curt hitch to use this quite pin to secure my RoadMaster spare tire carrier. I used the bolt pin that came with the carrier and will install a separate lock on it. However this silent pin will do nicely on the cargo carrier I will install on the RoadMaster spare tire carrier hitch.

We sold that RV in February to get a one with more storage however for more than 10,000 miles of bumping down the road the Curt hitch performed flawlessly.

Hitch lock arrived a day early; Score 1 for etrailer.com! Looked exactly as pictured online; Score 1 more for etrailer.com! Installed quickly and easily as instructions indicated; etrailer.com scores again! It works as advertised, snugging up the trailer ball so there is absolutely no rattle there! And the rubber covered lock and keys make it about as close to theft proof as you can get, so etrailer.com gets a 4th star! The lock itself, of course, is not exactly rattle free, and I don't know how it could be and still be accessible to remove. Plus there is still going to be some noise from the safety chains of the trailer, but that has nothing to do with the anti-rattle lock, so I'm going the whole 5 stars! Well made, and as secure and quiet as can be done! Love it!

These locking pins keep my hitch components secure, and also take up the slack between them during trailering. This makes for a much more solid quiet ride.

I purchased this for use on my 2017 VW Alltrack with an Ecohitch 2 in receiver. I have a Thule T2 Classic bike rack with a 1-1/4 inch shank and didn't want to purchase the replacement shank. I instead purchased # HT02 to allow the receiver to accept the smaller 1-1/4 and # 63232 to stabilize the rack and stop the rattle. The combination is perfect. # 63232 acts as both an anti-rattle device, as well as a hitch lock. Installation took 5 minutes and was super straightforward. Because the pin is threaded, be sure to use a torque wrench to not accidentally over-torque the pin and strip the threads or just tighten until the rattle stops.

A year in and the the Lets Go Aero Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock still does its job. The only issue that Ive run into is that I am unable to remove it from my hitch. The tubular metal sleeve that fits around the lock pin seems to have rusted itself locked. I havent been able to remove it and cannot remove my hitch rack as a result.
Ryan F - 09/23/2018

If your hitch is open at the back using some WD-40 and spraying down the hitch lock and anti-rattle device as best as you can, and let it sit and try again to remove the pin. You may need to use a hammer and persuade the pin, but try not to damage the bolt head portion. If the hammer does not work you might try using an impact wrench and a socket, or a socket and a cheater bar to try to get the treads to spin free. Worst case scenario you may need to use a cut off wheel and cut down the hitch pin and then using a drill bit drill out either side to see and try to remove the stinger. Just make sure that you do not use a drill bit larger than a 5/8 inch (diameter of your hitch pin) or any kind of torch that would damage your hitch.

Ordered two anti rattle hitch receiver locks for a duel receiver set up on our RV to pull our kayak trailer and carry our bike rack at the same time. etrailer was great to deal with, no hassle online transaction and prompt delivery to Canada. The locks work well and all slop and rattle is gone from our setup. Highly recommended.

This item works extremely well - there is no movement at all when it's installed. I would not hesitate to buy it again. I also have the "Roadmaster Quiet Hitch", but it does not work very well. It secures the rear of the hitch in the receiver, but I feel that the front of the hitch still moves up and down inside the receiver. The design of the Anti-rattle with the threaded pin is much better.

A bit on the pricey side, but does what it advertises. Happy with the product after using on a few camping trips. I have this cargo carrier: http://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Cargo-Carrier/Pro-Series/63153.html. We load it down with hundreds of pounds of camping equipment and use the hitch lock to secure it from moving. We also camp in the backcountry using poor access roads at times and the lock keeps the heavy loads from shifting on uneven terrain. I would recommend this product to anyone that is using either a bike rack or cargo carrier and is trying to reduce movement of the accessory.

This item was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. We assembled the carrier into our hitch, headed out on the highway and this worked as described. We are very pleased with the performance and stability.

Never used it due to 2020 covid-19. I bought this item to replace the exact same item I bought from you 3/4 years ago. I had the old Receiver Lock attached in the receiver holding my folding Hitch Carrier for about 4 months continuously, during the spring and summer of 2019. When I went to remove the Receiver Lock' to remove the Folding Hitch Carrier, the Receiver Lock pin was frozen to the square nut. After two weeks of spraying it with Liquid Wrench, I gave up and put as much leverage as I could with a breaker bar, the hex head on the Receiver Lock pin broke off, leaving every thing still attached. After removing the spare tire from the rear underside of my Suburban, I was able to gain access to the in board open end of the Suburban's trailer hitch. There was just enough room to get a metal blade, attached to a Makita Cordless Reciprocating Saw, to cut the pin out. I had the Receiver Lock 6/7 times before and never had any trouble. Though those 6/7 times, the longest continuous use was 2 weeks max. I plan to use anti-seize compound next time.

- 63232
by:

I give this 4 stars because I believe it will absolutely do its job. Unfortunately this item is not compatible with the Curt 2 inch hitch 4 bike rack as this rack comes with a threaded bolt instead of a pin. I also purchased lock washers to help with stabilization during road trips.

- 63232
by:

Product looks very well made. I only gave 4 stars due to hitch still having up/down movement when torqued down. It solved my problem of finding a anti-rattle 2" receiver hitch lock for my vehicles trailer hitch. It has mounting braces that prevent usage of the standard straight locks that attach on the end of the screw pin.

by:

Installed the nut and finger treaded the bolt into the assembly and nut. Once finger tight used the wench to tighten it all up. Upon removal I was unable to loosen the bolt with the wench. Working the bolt with a socket wrench I was able to get the bolt out but treads on both the bolt and the nut are damaged. I'm amazed that this big bolt and nut could be stripped so easily.

Now I have a spare tire with me for my Trek motor home that it never had before. Thanks to the Road Master hitch mounted spare tire carrier I can do much more. At 70 plus I can install and remove the tire and wheel from the carrier. I will soon be flat towing my Jeep Wrangler with the hitch receiver built into this carrier. It’s well built and heavy duty enough to attach 2 E-bikes on a tilting double bike rack. When I start towing the Jeep the bike rack and E-Bikes will go on the rear of the Jeep. Take all my toys with me. Thanks etrailer and Road Master for the quality product.

I ordered for all the right reasons. Quality, ease of ordering, etrailer presence on social media, free shipping, expedient receipt of products. In “my” haste, one of the features of my B&W trailer hitch does not work on my vehicle. My Chevy Suburban has a rear valance that wii not allow me to rotate the ball hitch underneath the vehicle. I’m very impressed with the Areo silent hitch pin.

Great product. It was very easy and simple to install. Stopped the rattling that was so annoying! I will recommend this to everyone who has the same problem that I had with my hitch being loose! If you want the rattling stopped... this is the product. Delivery was very prompt and had no issues!

I bought this to keep a cargo rack from rattling when installed in the receiver on the back of my travel trailer. I've towed it all more than 5,000 miles since then without rattles or vibrations that I'm aware of. The rack carries my generator, a 5-gallon gas can, and a 5-gallon diesel can. I check it every morning while traveling and it hasn't loosened up a bit.

I have used this type device before and actually this is a replacement for that device. I actually lost the lock on the road on the previous one. Do not know why. I have not used this one because we never travelled after I purchased it. We will be using it in about 3 weeks.
