Today we're going to be taking a look at the Chevrolet Bowtie trailer hitch receiver cover. Hitch covers are going to add a clean finished look to you hitch and they're going to help keep dirt and grime out of the receiver tube of your hitch. This particular one is designed to fit into a 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitch receiver. This is a plastic tube cover with an acrylic face. It's going to feature the Chevrolet Bowtie logo right here, that's in silver and it's going to be on a black background. The image has a protective layer over it, so it's going to be kept safe from scratches, chipping and color fading. This is an officially licensed product. It's got the official license sticker right there.
It does come with a plastic hitch clip. This is included to secure the unit inside of your hitch. Squeeze it together, place it in there, and it's going to come out through the pinholes right here. Once you push this into your hitch it'll go in. Once the pinholes line up, it will engage and it will hold it into position. Now that plastic clip can be replaced with a standard hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock.
Those items are sold separately. If you're in need, you can find there here at etrailer.com. The pinhole diameter on the hitch cover will accept a standard 5/8 inch diameter pin. A few measurements I want to go over with you real quick. Here at the front face, at the face plate we're looking at a measurement of about 5 inches by 3-3/4. The distance that we have from the back of the face plate to the center of the hitch pinhole, that's going to give us a measurement of about 3-5/16ths of an inch. It's a very simple installation.
All you have to do is slide this into the receiver tube of your hitch, push it in until that clip engages the pinholes in the hitch. It's going to be secured in there. Again, you can replace that with a standard hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock, if you desire to add a little bit more security to the hitch cover. That's going to do it for today's look at the Chevrolet Bowtie trailer hitch receiver cover for two inch hitches.
