All right. We're going to do a quick review of part number C22271 from Curt. This is a receiver tube cover. It is crafted from all rubber material. This is designed to fit inch and a quarter receiver hitches. It's a friction fit.
If you notice these ridges all the way around will grab on the inside of the hitch to keep it in place. This way it won't vibrate out and it will have a snug fit. Inch and a quarter receiver hitches only. Basically, just go ahead and line it up. Maybe push in a corner and push it into place.
This will fit all inch and a quarter receiver hitches. Then, you can see me flexing it, so it does have quite a bit of a grip to it. One other note from one of our review is, you may want to take this off, when you go through the car wash, because it may be able to be pulled out by a brush, or maybe by a water jet. Okay. That will cover it for our Curt Receiver Tube Cover. Part number C22271. .

Excellent product for covering a trailer hitch. makes a lot more sense than the plastic ones. Nice secure snug fit. 121591
This is a great cover and should I ever need another one Ill certainly order from you again.
I ordered the Curt 1-1/4" rubber tube cover for a Curt hitch that I installed on my 2004 Volvo XC70. I had previously ordered the hitch from etrailer.com and was extremely pleased with their service. Same for the Curt rubber tube cover. Great price and super fast shipping. Great communication after the sale so I knew exactly when my order shipped and when it would arrive. I actually ordered two Curt rubber tube covers. The Curt hitch is open at both ends so I used a cover for both openings to keep dirt and debris from collecting inside the receiver tube. Tight fit so no worries that they will fall out. Excellent product from an excellent supplier. 521828
I think this simple inexpensive hitch cover makes a nice finishing touch when not towing anything. The price and shipping charges were very reasonable. 570605
Original 1 1/4" 'Subaru' hitch cover was missing after I had work done at the local Subaru dealership. Ordered this Curt rubber tube cover as replacement, price was reasonable and looks as good as original. However it doesn't fit quite a snug. Could see how it might be forced out in an automatic car wash. 234269
My Curt hitch cover is in tact and serving its purpose after a year of drivinghauling/off and on the hitch. Havent lost it yet.
Just what it seems to be, fits tight, I doubt it will come off in normal use. 87394
Still great, watch it when going through those super-duty carwashes, though!
I put the 118673 wiring kit and a Curt Hitch receiver on a 2019 Honda HRV All Wheel drive and How can one not love it when you get done and it all works like it is supposed to. The Curt hitch almost hides at the back of the vehicle. My wife didn't notice it until I told her it was already installed. Keeping in mind, the times suggested are for a “PRO” who has a hoist to put the vehicle on and it will take the DIYer a bit longer. The only “real problem” that I had was that with the torque wrench I have, (one brought over on the Mayflower) I was unable to get enough swing to use it on the nut up above the muffler so after tightening the driver side nut, I then used a box-end and using the feel needed to tighten it a bit more, I used that feel to tighten the passenger side above the muffler. Even at 75 years of age and with vertigo, I still have the ability to turn an hour job into a 5 hour job and now my wife understands why I did not want her to sell my ramps, jack-stands and other things she thought an old man shouldn't need. Chidding aside, the videos accessed from etrailer were very good and very helpful. First, because I am “cheap” I was not going to pay over $400 to have a hitch installed, almost $500 for one that was not visible when not in use when the rear differential on the AWD HRV was visible from behind anyhow. I was also not going to pay to use a hoist so I just borrowed a set of ramps using them first under the rear wheels and then under the front to complete the installation of the power lead from the vehicle battery to the trailer lite converter box. A couple suggestions; the first, is do not take the fish wires off of the bolts before you have the hitch up in place. I thought that the hitch was light enough that I could put it up there, hold it in place and start the nuts but as luck would have it, one of the bolts ended up inside the frame. Not wanting it in there to rattle around I had to find a magnet small enough to fit through the hole used to fish the bolt into place and using a stiff enough piece of wire to be able to move the magnet effectively I manage to recover the bolt. Then I had to “RE-form” the fish wire to use it again to fish the bolt into place again. The second suggestion is that I used a lot more Zip-ty's than were supplied because we live in snow country and I did not want snow and ice hanging from the power lead and bringing it down lower and possibly getting damaged during our winters and I also put the power lead inside a flexible vinyl tubing which took a bit of creative pursuation to get 20 feet of wire into a 3/8 in flexible vinyl tubing but I think the extra protection the lead will have is worth the effort. And finally, if you remove a cargo area light from the cargo area side panel to get extra room behind the side panel, one has to make sure you have put it back into its place of mounting or you will have to take the rear door threshold and side panel loose again to get your cargo area light back into its proper place. 715278
Second time using etrailer... both times worked great. Purchased hitch, wiring kit, ball hitch. And dust cover for my 2019 chevy cruze.. opened box and could not find the dust cover. Sent a email And one was shipped the same day. Great service.. correct parts THE FIRST TIME. Keep it up etrailer! 683997
Fits perfectly on Curt trailer hitches. 674343
Nice cover. Does its job. 670163
Seems fine, however I’ve never once used it and don’t plan to. It’s just a useless accessory that seems appealing when first shopping but one you forget about the moment you use the hitch receiver for the first time. 660649
Delivered what I needed at a fair price and Very quickly. Always a terrific supplier. Responsive! 651830
Easy plug and play installtion. Looks nice on my 2013 Prius with the drawtite hitch. Since the hitch sticks out an inch or so, the lip on this cover can catch on auto car wash rollers and get dislodged. Other reviewers mentioned this in their post as well. The rubber hitch cover will help ease injury if people accidentally hit the protruded hitch. 588118
Awesome pricing and very good quality. Also the shipping was spot on. Thank you so much for a great buying experience. 576705
This dresses up the hitch and draws less attention to the hitch when it is in place. 573354
Good plug, but it would be nice if the part that inserts into the hitch was longer. I don't know how long it will stay in there, but a little more material in the recess would help ensure its ability to not fly out with car washes, etc. 572325
Cover fit hitch loosely to start and fell of with turbulace of highway. Very disappointed. 568357
Inexpensive, and does the job — it really improved the way that the back of my car looks, as well as keeping th mud out f the receiver. 518398
Fits snugly in trailer hitch, looks better now that the hole is covered. 517376
Easy way to keep the receiver clean. Fits perfect! 512556
high quality, fits perfectly 477606
Item improves unfinished appearance of receiver. Works Great! 470634
Great price and makes it look complete. ..... 464526
good 415220
Too loose in Curt receiver. Fell out and lost. Do not recommend. 412985
What can I say it's a rubber plug 411636
I not only purchased an additional cover to my hitch after I put the original on the top of my car and drove away, but with the awesome customer care I got when calling, I purchased my trailer/bicycle hitch and bike rack through etrailer! So, I was at the Western Maryland Rail Trail on this beautiful Sunday when a Mercedes pulled up next to my Audi A5 who had a disappointed trunk bicycle rack. I told them how awesome etrailer was to work with and fit the perfect hitch, rack and cover for my specific car! I'm so thrilled with your service and to share this with others! Karen 403559
Thanks for your business and for the recommendations. As always, let us know if there is anything we can help you with.
--Simple purchase. Installed in seconds. Really finished my hitch install! 399229
Not a good fit - too loose - lost it in my first run through the carwash. 398190
This one actually stays in as it should. Great product. 383543
Looks great! 370889
Stays in place. Looks great. 362728
Fits okay, but not quite as tight as my Draw-tite cover did. I prefer a bit more secure fit. 360556
Customer service is GREAT!!, I haven't installed the hitch yet, but it fits as designed 358257
I like the tube cover because it keeps the hitch from getting dirty. Great product. 356940
This thing does such a great job of covering up your trail hitch hole! Get it! 353754
item is good, not happy with shipping charges, and a suggestion, at the time of trailer hitch order i wish there was a notification to accessories to add to the order so i didn't had to pay shipping charge for the cap. 348839
Fits well 343078
Arrived in 2 days. Everything is exactly what I needed. 337920
just what i wanted, thank you etrailer 327373
Great product, simple, thick rubber & fits snug. What more do you want? 326041
I lost two at the car wash. I couldn't find another product which would solve that problem. So I am using a small bungee to secure this one. 326001
The little cover/plug works good. Looks good, too. Only 'down side' is that it cost as much to ship as the cover itself. Don't loose it! 321887
Good product and a great price. Lasted really well in our SW Ontario weather. 319895
Good Quality Has stayed on for a year Expect it to stay on for another 10 years or more 313222
Basic rubber plug that fits to the edges of the hitch opening. I do wish it extended far enough to use a locking hitch pin like the metal option 5351. But it is inexpensive to replace should it be lost. 305319
Many of the reviews say it fits snugly. Some say it doesn't. In my case it didn't. I ordered on a Friday, received on Monday, lost on Tuesday. This was installed on a Curt receiver, but apparently did not fit tightly enough. It looked good for the few hours it was on there. 303491
Good fit and durable. A good value but it is just soft rubber. 297942
It works great and stays flexible over the year.
The Curt Rubber Tube Cover was great. Evidently, someone else liked it too and thought it would work well on their vehicle, because it was stolen several months after I installed it in my hitch. It was great while I had it. 288171
Exactly what I needed. Outside diameter is a little larger than hole so it's easy to pull right out! 286493
