Today we're going to be taking a look at part number AUT-NAVY-C, this is the U.S. Navy Trailer Hitch Cover from Automotive Gold Hitch Covers. The unit's designed to slide into your 2" x 2" trailer hitch receiver to help you keep out dirt and prevent rust. It's also going to add that nice finished look to your hitch. Here at the front it's going to have a really nice image, which is the official seal of the United States Navy. The full color decal is going to be outlined in a nice gold finish ABS plastic. Then the image itself is going to have a nice vinyl coating to it.
It's going to protect the decal from water, chemicals, and UV rays. You don't have to worry about fading, and you don't have to worry about chipping. We're going to have the polished stainless steel base, that's where that image is going to sit on, so it's going to give that nice mirror-like image. It has a really nice shine to it. The base and the sleeve are going to be made from stainless steel, so it's going to be highly resistant towards rust and corrosion. We're going to have the one piece riveted construction, so you don't have to worry about any type of assembly.
It's ready to be installed right out of the box. The only thing that you're going to need to provide separately is going to be your hitch pin and clip, or a hitch pin and lock. This will receive your standard 5/8" pin. If you don't already have one you can check out some options here on our website. Again, it is designed for 2" x 2" trailer hitch receivers. A few measurements I want to go over with you real quick.
The first one being the shank length, measuring from the back of the faceplate to the end of the shank we're looking at about 3 1/2". Then you can see that we're going to have three different pin holes right here. That way you can use whatever one's going to work best for your particular application. From the back of the faceplate to the center of that first pinhole that's going to give us a measurement of about 1 11/16 of an inch. To the center of the middle pin hole is going to be about 2 3/16 of an inch.
Then the center of the rear pin hole is going to be about 2 11/16 of an inch. The faceplate is going to give us a diameter of about 4". This product is made in the U.S.A., and it's going to feature a lifetime warranty. That's going to do it for today's look at part number AUT-NAVY-C.

One wonders why all covers made for 1 1/4" with and adapter for 2" so there would be no need for 2 sizes. I attached it to my E Trailer hitch on my Corvette. Yes a tow hitch on a Corvette for bike rack.
Had to wait a few weeks as my Ford Hitch cover was back ordered, but well worth the wait! etrailer was great to keep me updated through email while I waited. Love the product it looks great on my new Ford F150. I will definitely order again from them .

This is the second time I have purchased a trailer hitch from this company. I only had to replace this product because I was rear ended a few weeks ago by another driver. The tow bar took all the damage and while it had to be replaced, it protected the back of my jeep from further impact.

I had a cheap rubber cover but it either blew off in the wash or got stolen. With a locking pin this one should stay put. Makes a nice little enhancement to my vehicle and shows pride in having served our country. Glad it arrived in time for display this "Veterans Day".

It fell apart! The pin stayed in the received but the decorative part fell off.
