Today, we're going to be taking a look at part number AUT-CHVR-G. This is the Au-Tomotive Gold Chevrolet Bow Tie trailer hitch cover for 2-inch hitches. It's going to feature the officially licence Chevrolet Bow Tie logo right here on the face plate. The unit's going to slide into your 2-inch by 2-inch hitch to help keep out dirt and prevent rust and corrosion. That's also going to add that nice clean finish look to your hitch. The 3-D logo is filled with durable red acrylic so you don't have to worry about chipping or fading.
It's going to have the gold finish that goes around the logo and the face plate. That's a ABS plastic but it's still strong and durable. That's going to sit on a stainless steel, polished stainless steel base. It's going to give a mirror-like shine and it's also going to resist rust and corrosion. This is a one-piece riveted construction so you don't have worry about any assembly. It's going to come fully assembled, ready to install out of the box.
The shank is made from stainless steel construction as well. This portion right here is going to slide into your 2-inch by 2-inch hitch. You're going to push it in until you get one of the three pinholes to line up with the pinholes in your hitch. They offer three of them, that way, you can make sure you get the most clearance that you need for your particular application. Once you have the holes lined up, you simply install a hitch pin and clip or a hitch pin and lock to get it fully secured to your hitch.
Hitch pin and clips and hitch pin and locks are sold separately. You can find those in our website if you don't already have one. The product is made right here in the USA. If we take a measurement of the shank length measuring from the back of the face plate to the end of the shank, that's going to give a measurement of about 3 1/2 inches. From the back of the face plate to the center of the first pin hole, we're looking at 1 11/16 of an inch. To the center, the middle pinhole, we're looking at about 2 1/8 of an inch.
To the center of that rear pinhole, we're looking at about 2 11/16 of an inch. Here at the face plate, this is going to give us a diameter of about 4 inches. The product is going to be covered with a lifetime warranty. That's going to do it for today's look at part number AUT-CHVR-G.

The cover really dresses up the back hitch and makes a huge improvement on aesthetics.
One year later, and surviving winter driving with salt and sand, the cover still looks brand new.

One wonders why all covers made for 1 1/4" with and adapter for 2" so there would be no need for 2 sizes. I attached it to my E Trailer hitch on my Corvette. Yes a tow hitch on a Corvette for bike rack.
This is the second time I have purchased a trailer hitch from this company. I only had to replace this product because I was rear ended a few weeks ago by another driver. The tow bar took all the damage and while it had to be replaced, it protected the back of my jeep from further impact.

For a fairly expensive item, the paint and chrome finish is about half gone. I am not pleased with this product.
