Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Southern Methodist Mustangs 2 inch hitch cover from AMG. The hitch cover is going to allow you to show your school pride, it's going to add a clean, finished look to your hitch and it's going to help keep dirt and grime out of the receiver tube of your hitch. The hitch cover is made from a steel construction. It's going to feature a really nice black powder coat finish which is going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. Here at the front, we're going to have the crystal embedded chrome plated emblem. It's got a nice rustproof and fadeproof design. The product is American made. Here on the back side, it's got a foam gasket that goes around the piece that slides into the receiver tube of your hitch.
That gasket's going to help to reduce rattle in-between the hitch and the hitch cover. This is an officially licensed product. It does require a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock to get it secured and installed in the hitch. Those items are sold separately, but if you're in need of one you can find them right here at etrailer.com. The pinholes on the hitch cover will accept a standard 5/8 inch diameter pin. Go over some measurements real quick.
Starting with the overall width of the hitch cover face, it's going to give us a measurement of around 5 inches. Overall height is going to measure around 3 1/2 inches. The distance that we have from the back of the foam pad to the center of the hitch pinhole, it's going to be pretty close to 2 1/2 inches. It is designed for a 2 inch by 2 inch hitch. It's a very simple installation. Just slide it into the receiver tube of your hitch, line up your pinholes and secure it with a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock. That's going to do it for today's look at the Southern Methodist Mustangs 2 inch hitch cover from AMG..
