Today we're going to be taking a look at part number AMG102399. This is the US Army 1st Cavalry Shield Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover for 2 inch hitches. The unit is designed to slide into your hitch. It's going to not only allow you to represent what you're passionate about but it's also going to do a good job of keeping out dirt. It could also prevent rust and corrosion to the hitch. It's going to add a nice clean finished look to your hitch. We're going to have the chrome plated metal emblem, very stylish and durable. Everything on the unit is metal construction.
The actual hitch cover, the hitch tabs right here, nice solid one-piece construction. It's got some welds here at the back of the shank that holds the plate on there, the front plate. It's metal construction. It's going to be covered in a black powder coat finish to resist rust and corrosion as well as fading. Nice sleek black color. When installing this, this portion right here is going to slide into your hitch. You're going to push it in until you get your pinholes to line up with one another.
Then you'll need to insert a hitch pin and clip or a hitch pin and lock. Those items are sold separately but if you needed one you can find those right here on our website. Again, this is designed for 2 inch by 2 inch trailer hitch receivers. The face dimensions is going to give us an overall length of pretty close to 5 inches. It's going to give us an overall height of about 3 1/2 inches. The measurement we have from the back of that face plate to the center of our hitch pin hole, that's going to give us a measurement of about 2 and 5/8 of an inch. Again it does come with a foam gasket.
This is going to help reduce rattling and in some cases it will completely prevent it. Just depends on your particular hitch. I'm going to go ahead and show you how to install it. I'm going to go ahead and place the foam gasket on the back. Then we can slide it into our hitch. Line up our pin holes and insert a hitch pin and clip.
The one I'm using for demonstration today can be found on our website with part number PC3. That's going to be your standard 5/8 inch pin and it's going to come with a safety clip. That's going to do it for today's look at part number AMG102399.

The hitch cover is very well made; powder coated metal for the backing plate, precision drilled hole for the locking pin to ensure a snug fit; and, of course, the heraldry of the 1'st Cav. Div'n, Airmobile. I'm quite pleased with the cover.

I ordered this 1st Cavalry shield trailer hitch receiver cover recently and received it today. I am very pleased with the looks and quality it appears to be. I served with the 1st Cavalry while in Vietnam in 68-69 and I am proud of my service with them. Just a good way to display my pride.

Perfect addition to the his & hers vehicle. Very nice solid construction with just the right amount of bling, classy USMC logo. Especially like the rounded edges, thinking they will lessen the bruising during unexpected close encounters

Before I took it out of the box, I could tell that this was a high quality product. The colors are bright and the fit is perfect. The foam seal to keep water out of the hitch was an unexpected nice touch. It looks great on my truck.
Be advised, it does not come with any kind of retaining device, you will need a hitch pin to keep it in place. I purchased a locking pin because something as nice as this would probably get stolen.
A great hitch cover that complements the truck and military license plates on the truck. it reflects the pride we all have for our military service.
When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looks, then I put it on my truck and it popped. I love it and I am very happy with my purchase.
Did a lot of research on this product and it came through with flying colors. I ordered this product and one other from another site. This cover was superior in thickness size and chrome. Also the pin opening is large enough for standard 4" pins. If you are considering this product I suggest you don't wait. As for the company, great service. I was contacted shortly after the purchase, tracked the item and was contact about satisfaction after delivery. Outstanding. Will not return item but with their attention to detail I am sure if there were anything of issue the company would be on top of it. Thank you I will be ordering from you again.
I took about a month shopping before I purchased. The one thing I didn't want was a cheap plastic hitch cover representing my team.
