Quick delivery. Purchased for small receiver sizing. “Basket” is lighter than my Harbor Freight aluminum platform, hardware for this unit preferable. Added flat washers under all nuts, think they should have been provided for the off round holes on the cross braces. Hauled an exercise bike which weighed well under the 300 pound weight but was not balanced and noticed after unloading balance is important to the use of the basket. Hitch on vehicle was etrailer buy, believe it is also a Curt manufacture. If I had see this unit prior to purchase would have bought it. Project it to be reasonable value for the price. 586268

Easy to assemble. Reversed the bolts so the threads and nuts don't stick into a carrier bag. 221569

Considering the price, the product quality was above average from what I've seen. It will serve me well to carry a commercial pop up canopy that won't fit in the car. The instruction were easy to read and follow. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a third item from etrailer. Thanks 433781

I purchased this product to use in the 1 1/4" trailer hitch on my 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The item was easy to assemble, is of high quality, and is exactly as described. Being able to adjust the carrier in and out on the bar allows the carrier to be placed with just enough clearance of the vehicle to provide stability and thus avoiding the leverage effect when used with heavier loads. I ordered this item under time constraints, and etrailer worked with me to make sure the item arrived as quickly as possible, and followed up and kept me updated on the order progress along the way. I just recommended etrailer to a friend of mine and I found out that he was already a satisfied etrailer customer. 107376

First of all etrailer service was speedy and delivery ahead of schedule. Absolutely would buy from them again. Packaging was flawless. Now to the product itself. As a disclaimer I have not used it with cargo on it yet. Assembly was easy and all pieces, nuts and bolts are included, with and adapter for 2" hitches. I decided on this product because the design with an sloped hitch connector allows for more ground clearance than other models. Now when I tried it on the 1 1/4 hitch, it wobbles, it fits somewhat loosely. Curt should made some sort of rubber washer/wedge to avoid this and not just require more strapping. For this I just giving this rack 3 stars. 529027

Perfect. Took some finessing to tighten down the bolts but I did it on my own. I used it to move about 250lbs worth of belongings in containers from NY to FL (Little over 1,300 Miles). 555433

This is exactly what we needed to hold our cooler on camping trips. Is easy to install (note: can only use the threaded screw with the UHaul installed hitch we got) and easy to remove. Not too big to store (we get it in our 1-car garage, along with the car) in the winter. Like many folks, we were concerned about getting the rear hatch open on our Prius V and with the cooler mounted as far back as possible, we can! Would definitely buy again! 392396

Comments

Its continued to be a great add-on for our Prius V, allowing us to get the cooler out of the trunk to leave room for the dog.

This cargo carrier worked great. Used it to move a rototiller, 2 hour trip. No damage or deformation to the carrier despite the tiller being near the top of the weight limit. The hitch bolt held the carrier firmly in place. It doesn't come with the lights, I installed light kit Item # 52014. Just had to drill four small holes (I knew this light kit wasn't specifically designed for this carrier, just wanted something cheap). Works great on a Town Car, lots of ground clearance. I'm very happy with this product. 570243

I am so glad I ordered my cargo carrier from E-trailer.The package arrived on time and was exactly what I was looking for in a cargo carrier.I liked the easy to follow instructions as it only took 40 minutes to put together. This is my first order from E-trailer and I would not hesitate to order something again. The good service and quality products have given me peace of mind for my next order. Thanks E-trailer!! 317153

Product came with clear directions to assemble. Seems to be of good quality. Was hoping it would be made in the USA (did not check) like the Curt hitch I bought, but it was not. Not the end of the world. Only reason I am taking it down a notch is the mesh metal in the center bends a bit, not much but with ~155 lbs. on it I can get it to bend. But I will never have more than ~250 on it so it will work. Good for the price. 516758

Began shopping for a cargo carrier with 3 things in mind (a 2 inch shank, folding and have rails). I got none of the above with this carrier, however after doing my homework and using some common sense what I thought I wanted and what I needed were pretty far apart. I got this carrier primarily for a 2012 Honda Pilot 2WD. After reading many reviews here is why I decided on this model. 1. At 48 inch width, it fits nicely between the tail lights and doesn't obscure visibility of them. 2. The 3.75 inch shank rise puts the platform about level with the rear bumper and well above the tailpipes where heat seems to be an issue for many reviewers, especially if using a cargo bag which I am. 3. The shank rise also increases ground clearance which is not as important on the Pilot but is on our 2000Toyota Sienna and 2002 Winnie RV. The platform also rides about bumper level on these rather than riding below it as would a straight shank carrier. I didn't measure the height but these are med to light duty vehicles so passenger and cargo weight is a BIG factor in ground clearance. 4. The 300 lb cargo capacity is more than enough for our vehicles as none of them have tongue wt cap. >250 lb. I'm not sure about pushing the 300 lb. carrier capacity but it does take an evenly distributed 200 lbs. pretty well. 5. Despite the threaded hitch pin, I wasn't thrilled with the 1.25 in. shank as I have a bike rack with the same hitch connection but after viewing the cargo carrier review video I realized I had been putting the nylon insert between the shank and the receiver which left a bit of movement in the connection (not to mention squashing the insert). I flipped it around, now with the shank against the hitch (metal to metal) this is really solid. Thanks etrailer!! A couple of the features I thought I wanted, foldability, didn't seem to get favorable reviews on the models in my price range and rails (with the cargo bag is not really necessary) I believe are available for this carrier, if not would be very easy handyman project. Overall, very happy with the product so far. Its well built and the cargo bag fits perfect. I will be adding some reflector tape for sure, maybe lights if necessary. The best way to get what you want is to know what you need. Glad I did the research! 268025

As always from E Trailer very quick 2 day delivery to Minnesota, packaged well so no damage. It took very little time to put the Curt cargo carrier together, it is now installed on the rear 3 point of my John Deere 1025R and will use it mostly to haul firewood cutting tools, chainsaws, wedges, safety gear, chains, ropes and whatever else I need. I can now tie everything down and won't have to haul everything in the loader bucket. 231550

Comments

This works great, I have cut it down to only 48 wide so it would not catch on brush , I can still carry 2 chainsaws and gas and oil

I just returned home from a beach trip with my new cargo carrier. Overall it performed as needed. Having installed this on my 2006 Toyota Corolla I am happy I purchased a carrier with a rise in the shaft (raises the platform approximately 3" above the hitch insert). The carrier lightly scraped the ground a couple of times when pulling out of steeper parking lots onto the main road. Assembly took about 45 minutes doing this alone. Make sure you follow the directions and don't tighten the bolts the entire way, but make sure you tighten them enough that the square part of the bolt head will not fall out of the square hole or you run the risk of not being able to properly seat the bolts as you begin tightening all of the other bolts. I was slightly disappointed by the hitch pin. This does not use a standard slip through hitch pin and a standard pin will not fit. It instead has a threaded pin (included) that you need a 19mm socket (or box wrench) to tighten. I was hoping to use my Master Lock locking hitch pin, but was unable to because it was too large to fit through the threaded part of the carrier. There is a hole at the end of the threaded hit pin for a cotter pin so you may be able to put a small luggage zipper type lock in there for added security. The other disadvantage to the need for a socket is you need to take one with you on your trip if you plan to remove the cargo carrier, which I did for daily driving during the week around town. So again, overall it performed as needed and I would recommend this to a friend, but would make sure I pointed out the hitch pin setup as I don't think most people would expect this. 145659

Comments

Its threaded so you dont have to watch your cargo bounce side to side and it makes for a quiter ride because the rack is on with the hitch. You can get a threaded hitch pin with lock too.

The carrier has worked very well and I use it regularly. I recently purchased a new vehicle with a 2 receiver so it was nice to be able to just use the included adapter and not have to buy a new carrier. I mentioned the hitch pin as a downside, but after use it really is not. I purchased a cheap luggage lock to minimize the chance of theft. I also picked up a really cheap 19mm wrench to keep in the car so taking the hitch pin in and out is no problem. I would definitely recommend this product. It has held up very well despite my frequent, rough use.

This cargo carrier is sturdy and works well on a Mazdaspeed 3. The rise and slight angle make it so clearance is not an issue. The carrier is very easy to put together. I did install the 8 bolts through the connecting plates in reverse of the instructions so cargo would not be scratched or torn. It adds so much cargo space for our growing family. The only drawbacks are a lack of license plate frame and reflectors which are easily added with very little cost. I used a Cruiser license mount plate with zip ties and Reese DOT approved reflectors. I don't plan to use the carrier at night but there are many license plate lights that can be added as well. I also purchased the Rola carrier bag for hauling luggage and other indoor items. 409245

I used the Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier to extend the luggage capacity of my 2010 Toyota Matrix. I had the hitch put on at Uhaul which would have been great but it rubbed against the exhaust pipe. They were great and offered to pay $30 toward a Midas Muffler service ticket to bend the exhaust slightly. The Carrier was fairly simple to assemble but required a 17 and 19 mm socket to assemble quickly. The carrier rode smoothly for over 400 miles and I was pleased I had no issues with it. The Matrix had no problems with the added weight. 158299

Etrailer provided excellent service and was great at recommending this cargo carrier. This cargo carrier was perfect for my 2011 Toyota Corolla with a 1 1/4 hitch. This cargo carrier not only fits without an adapter (much safer and can carry the load better), but it also is elevated over the hitch by another 4-5 inches to give greater clearance and it moves the cargo carrier away from the exhaust pipe. I worried about the heat from the exhaust pipe previously. This was easy to assemble and install (about 30 minutes). About 6 main parts + some bolts. Easy to install. I'm going to use this for a cross country road trip. 394897

We used this luggage rack for a 2 week road trip in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. It worked great! Carried all our luggage and gear, didn’t obstruct the tail lights and was super easy to put on and take off. I was completely pleased with the rack and would recommend it. 642299

I wanted to let you know that both the hitch and carrier arrived and I have already installed them both. They are awesome! Shipping was fast and the box arrived in great condition. Well made product. We are going to use it on our Ford Fusion Hybrid for our trip to Florida. Just need a little more space for mother in laws walker and some beach chairs We wont need it coming back north so I can take it apart and stack it in the trunk for the return trip. I am going to add reflectors and maybe flags to this carrier just to make it more visible to other drivers. It is low to the ground. Yes the support arm is installed correctly, sweeping up. 598167

We got this for a week-long camping trip with 4 people, and it worked great for us. I had all of our gear in 2 large rubbermaid bins strapped to the platform. It was stable and secure and no problems with clearance under it (we were on fairly flat paved and gravel roads). The only mod i did was to add reflective tape to the back edge for additional visibility. It's a perfect width for our Honda Fit, no problems maneuvering or parking. 539448

Great product for the money. Easy to put together. I will be using mostly with a 1-1/4" receiver and I bought specifically because of the receiver hitch pin (19mm wrench required) that screws into the tongue to make the assembly rigid when fastened to the hitch mount. It works great and secures to the vehicle nicely. It should work great for picking up extra passengers at the airport. It will be mounted to a Subaru Outback (2017) with factory supplied receiver. 484614

Pretty easy to put together. The cage is only welded to the frame in a few spots, which I think is strong enough, but it allows the unwelded contact points to rattle like crazy. I ended up using a dab of silicone calk to keep the rest from being annoying. I am using this rack to carry around my 65lb Paramotor and it works great. The "pin" hole is threaded all the way through which does make it a little annoying to screw in and out the pin bolt to install/remove the rack. But, the bolt does do its job keeping the cage from moving at all insite the hitch point. I am really satisfied with my purchase. 461066

I needed the rack as soon as I got it, but 'lo and behold', the assembly packet was missing two of the main parts.... The "connecting plates". The company was very nice and put the parts in the mail at no cost to me. So here I sit with a product I can't use for a few more days. I'll have a better idea of the product once I get to use it. The product seems a little light weight. More like a camping grill. 427299

The hitches made for your Bolt EV are shown on the linked page. • Class I Trailer Hitch for 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid
  • For your 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid (that is not the plug-in version) you can use either of the 1-1/4-inch Class I hitches shown on the linked page, either Draw-Tite # 24965 or Curt # C11402. These offer identical weight capacities and a similar installation process, which is shown for you in the linked video. With one of these hitches installed you can use a Class I compatible accessory such as a 2-bike hitch bike carrier like # B01311 or a cargo carrier like # C18110. The owner's manual...

  • Options For Securing Items In Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier
  • Although nothing is completely theft-proof when placed in an open cargo carrier like part # C18110, you can take some measures to make it a lot tougher for thieves. If the cargo can be placed in one container or bag like the Rola Expandable Cargo Bag, part # 59102, that can deter would-be thieves from taking anything because it is tougher to get to. Another option is to use some locking straps like part # RRRTD35L. These are 1-inch wide and 11-1/2 ft long and comes with locks and...

  • 1-1/4" to 2" Hitch Adapter for 2009 Hyundai Sonata
  • The only 1-1/4" to 2" hitch adapter that is available to use with the Class I Curt # C11325 trailer hitch on your 2009 Hyundai Sonata is the Brophy # HTAD. Please keep in mind this will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50 percent, so the combined capacity of your wheelchair carrier and wheelchair would not be able to exceed 100 lbs. If you want to keep the 200 lb capacity of your hitch you need a new cargo carrier that is Class I compatible such as the Curt # C18110...

  • Hitch Cargo Carrier, Lighting Kit, Cargo Net and Wiring for 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • We can help you get your 2017 Subaru Outback ready for some cargo hauling using its factory-installed 1-1/4-inch hitch. The cargo carrier you referenced, the Pro Series # 63153, only fits a larger 2-inch size hitch but we have similar carriers you can use in your 1-1/4-inch OEM hitch, such as their model # 63155. Do note though that those factory Subaru hitches do not have the same weight carrying capacity as the 2-inch aftermarket hitches we offer that can bolt right up to the car's...

  • Trailer Hitch, Bike Rack, and Cargo Carrier Recommendations for a 2015 Subaru Impreza Sedan
  • For your 2015 Subaru Impreza sedan you can use Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24960 or the discontinued 24888. Both have the same 200 pound tongue weight capacity which is what you would want to look at when using the hitch for a bike rack or cargo carrier. Since these are both Class I trailer hitches the accessories you use will need to be rated for use on a Class I hitch. I recommend going with the lightest bike rack and cargo carrier that will fit to maximize the amount of weight you can...

  • Recommended Cargo Carrier with Class II Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2015 Chevrolet Trax
  • First of all good choice on the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36554. It's what I would have recommended if that had been your question. With the Draw-Tite installed on a 2015 Chevrolet Trax there is about 7 inches from the hitch pin hole to the edge of the vehicle's fascia. This is why of the three you mention I would pick the Curt # C18110. It has 3-3/4 inches of rise which you mentioned you like and there is 6-3/4 inches from the hitch pin hole to the beginning of the rise...

  • Bike & Cargo Carrier Recommendations for 2016 Pleasureway Plateau FL Based on M-B Sprinter
  • We do offer 2-bike racks that tilt away or swing away from the vehicle to allow for better access to the rear cargo area. The thing is these racks are not rated for use on RVs like your M-B Sprinter-based Pleasureway. The reason bike racks must be rated specifically for use on an RV is the extra stresses found at the rear of such vehicles. The extra stress comes from the longer distance between the rear axle and bike rack; this longer distance translates into more vertical and lateral...

  • We do have a solution for your elevated cargo carrier needs, even with the Class I, 1-1/4" receivers that are compatible with your 2015 Kia Forte; the Draw-Tite # 24903 and Curt # C11368 (please note that the Curt hitch requires the use of Curt Support Straps # 18050 with a cargo carrier in order not to void the warranty. I've attached a link to an instruction video showing how to use these straps for you). The cargo carrier that I recommend you take a look at is Curt Cargo Carrier #...

  • How to Carry a Mobility Scooter on a 2017 Kia Forte Sedan
  • According to my research, you can carry a scooter on the rear of your 2017 Kia Forte. However, the weight of the scooter, carrier, trailer hitch, cargo, and passengers cannot exceed 849 lbs. If you need further information on this then you will want to take a look at page 5-91 of your owner's manual. If you do not already have a trailer hitch I recommend using the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24903 (22 lbs) because you do not need to remove any underbody panels...

  • Recommended Cargo Rack for Transporting 2 Electric Bikes with 2004 Honda Civic
  • The Curt Cargo Carrier # C18110 referenced in your question has platform dimensions of 47-11/16 inches long and 19-1/2 inches wide. If you are able to secure both of your electric bikes within these dimensions, then the next thing we will need to look at is the required weight capacity. The trailer hitches we have available that are designed to fit your 2004 Honda Civic are Class I hitches with a tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds. This means that even though the Curt Cargo Carrier...

  • Recommended Hitch and Hitch Bike and Cargo Carriers for 2018 Mini Countryman
  • There is a solution for safely transporting two bikes on your Mini Countryman without risk to the bikes or to the car and this consists of installing a hitch and using a hitch-type bike rack. I'll explain why. There are trunk-mount bike racks that are confirmed to fit the 2018 Mini Countryman, and these appear on the page I linked for you. However, they are limited to a 2-bike capacity due to weight concerns. Among them is the Yakima FullBack 2 carrier # Y02634 that you referenced in...

  • We do carry cargo carriers that you can use in the 1-1/4 inch receiver on the back of the Winnebago. All of the folding options fit a 2 inch hitch receiver. I recommend the Curt cargo carrier part # C18110 for the back of your Winnebago. If the hitch on the motorhome is recessed the shank on the Curt carrier is 11-1/8 inches long so it gives you the clearance you need to pin it into the hitch without touching the back bumper of the motorhome. The cargo carrier can handle up to 300 lbs...

  • For your 2015 Lincoln MKZ, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24897. Unlike the Curt model that is also confirmed to fit your vehicle, the installation of this hitch will allow you to trim and reinstall the underbody panel/fascia for accommodation with the hitch receiver and crosstube. On the Curt model, this panel is completely removed and cannot be reinstalled. This Class I hitch will use existing holes in your Lincoln's frame for a no-drill installation....

But these are available in two receiver sizes, both 1-1/4-inch like # 24914 from Draw-Tite and # C11377 from Curt, and also 2-inch like the EcoHitch # 306-X7305 that you referenced in your question. • Cargo Transport Options for 2018 Nissan Altima with Moon Roof
  • If maximum cargo weight capacity is the goal then the way to go is to install a hitch # 24796 and to use a hitch-mount cargo carrier like one of those shown on the linked page, such as # C18110. The Class I hitch above has a 200-lb tongue weight rating, tongue weight being downward force on the hitch. So in actual pounds, this means that once you deduct the carrier's own 30-lb weight from that hitch capacity you still end up with a 170-pound maximum cargo weight. This is far more than your...

  • Capacity of Hitches Made for 2003 Subaru Baja

There would be no value to put a hitch with a higher capacity on a vehicle that cannot offer the same weight/towing capacity. In the case of your 2003 Subaru Baja the vehicle's own weight capacities are such that only light-duty Class I hitches are made for it. Please refer to the linked article on hitch classes.
