This Curt bike rack makes it easy to carry 2 bikes on the back of your vehicle. The platform-style rack is easier to load than a hanging rack because you don't have to lift your bikes nearly as high to get them into place. Ratcheting hooks and wheel hoops accommodate 2 bikes of most shapes and sizes. The entire rack tilts down for easy access to your cargo area, even while the bikes are loaded. And you can choose between 2 different ways to fold the rack up for storage on your vehicle when it's not in use.

Ratcheting Frame Hooks

Each center mast has 2 ratcheting hooks that move up and down independently of one another. This allows you to carry up to 2 bikes of different heights or with different frame styles. The hooks firmly grip your bikes by the top tubes, and they are cushioned to protect your bike frames from scratches and scuffs. Once you slide the hooks into position, just lock them in place.

Adjustable Wheel Hoops

Curt platform bike rack cradles

Sturdy, adjustable wheel hoops let you carry bikes of different lengths. Use the built-in knobs to loosen the hoops. Then slide the hoops to the desired position along the platform base and tighten them into place.

Tilting and Folding Design

Curt platform bike rack in tilted position

The entire rack can be tilted down - away from your vehicle - so that you can easily access your rear cargo area, even when your bikes are loaded. Just pull the pin at the base of the rack to tilt it down.

Curt platform bike rack storage options

There are 2 ways that you can fold up the rack to store it on your vehicle when it's not in use. Option 1 lets you fold the cradle arms up towards the upright mast. Simply remove the pins and fold up the arms. Then replace the pins to secure the arms in the upright position. Option 2 lets you fold the rack up against the rear of your vehicle. First, lower the center mast by removing its pin and clip at the base and then fold the mast down forward. Then remove the pins from the base of the rack and fold up the carrier.

Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin and Adapter Sleeve

Curt platform bike rack anti-rattle hitch pin

This rack comes with an anti-rattle hitch pin. The threaded pin holds the bike rack in your hitch, and it reduces noise and movement of the rack inside your hitch. An adapter sleeve is included as well, which allows the rack to fit either a 1-1/4" or a 2" hitch receiver. Because this bike rack has a threaded shank, it is not compatible with standard hitch locks.

  • Bike Rack Needed to Clear Rear Doors of a 2016 Ram ProMaster
When the center mast on the Curt # C18085 is folded down it measures about 10-1/2". This is from the bottom of the shank that goes into the receiver on your 2016 Ram ProMaster and was taken with the 2" adapter on. So if you have a 2" receiver just measure 10-1/2" from the bottom of your receiver opening but if you have a 1-1/4" receiver you will need to subtract about 3/4" which means you will measure 9-3/4" from the bottom of your receiver.

  • Recommendation for Transporting Bikes While Flat Towing Vehicle
The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-4 referenced in your question is designed specifically to allow you to use a bike rack while towing your vehicle behind an RV. The center of the hitch pin hole on the adapter that will be used for the bike rack extends 9-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole on your hitch receiver. I have attached an image to clarify this dimension. The issue though with using your Thule Doubletrack Bike Rack # TH990XT is that it is not actually...

  • Am I Safe to Use the Malone Runway HM2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes with My 39 Pound Bikes?
Hell Tyler, Not silly at all, an I am glad you wrote in. The Malone Runway HM2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # MPG2149 has a weight capacity of 33 pounds per bike, so it will not work for you. Instead you will want the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # C18085 as it has a weight capacity of 45 pounds per bike. What kind of bikes will you be using the rack for?

  • Compatibility of Curt Trailer Hitch with Swagman XTC-2 for Electric Bike Rack for 2007 Honda Accord
For your application I recommend going with the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # C18085 because it is compatible with a Class I hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch # C11290 for your 2007 Honda Accord, and it has a weight capacity of 45 lbs per bike. Since the Swagman XTC-2 # S64670 that you referenced is only compatible with up to 35 lb bikes and you have a 50 lb bike then you cannot safely use this combination. When you remove the battery on your...

  • Hitch Needed to Use Curt Bike Rack with 2014 BMW X6
As long as you had a hitch installed on your 2014 BMX X6 like the Curt part # 13077 which is a confirmed fit the Curt bike rack part # C18085 would fit and work well. For a tilting bike rack, it's really hard to beat this rack for the money. If you were looking for something entry-level that will still get the job done this would be a really great option!

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2009 Honda Accord Sedan and a Bike Rack
For your 2009 Honda Accord sedan I recommend Curt trailer hitch # C11496. With the other hitch options there is an additional part you would need to be able to use a bike rack but not with this hitch. This and all of the hitches for your Accord are Class I hitches with 1-1/4 inch receivers. Class I trailer hitches are rated for a maximum of 2 bikes because it cannot handle additional weight that is further away from the receiver. I have linked the Class I compatible 2-bike racks for you....

I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C77FR for carrying 2 bikes with your 2020 Chevy Equinox. We have actually been able to install this on a 2020 Equinox so I have attached that installation video as well as a photo of the finished project for you to check out. Since bike racks don't use lights you won't need to install wiring. If...

  • Will the Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack Platform Style Part # S64650 Fit a 2005 GMC Envoy
As you can see in the attached review video, the Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack Platform Style part # S64650 will fit perfectly into the trailer hitch receiver on your 2005 GMC Envoy. There will be no clearance issues with the rear bumper and the hatch will be able to be opened when the bikes are off and the upright is folded down. The only thing you need to do to fold the upright bar down is pull a pin which you can also see in the attached review video. This process will not require any tools.

  • Fit of Swagman Semi 2.0 Bike Rack on 2005 Volvo V70
To determine how well or even if a given bike rack will work with a specific vehicle, you will need to take a measurement from the hitch pin hole in the receiver rearward to the furthest point of the rear bumper, as shown in the article I have linked you to. You would then compare that measurement to the hitch pin hole to closest portion of the bike rack dimension shown on the product description page for each bike rack. The Swagman Semi 2.0 you referred to needs at least 12 inches of...

  • Can The Curt 2-Bike Platform Rack Hold A 60lb E-Bike And 45lb Mountain Bike
Hi Lynne, The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack # C18085 would not be able to handle the weight of your 60lb e-bike. If you don't have fenders then you could switch to a wheel mount design. If you do have fenders then you'll just need to pick up a bar adapter # HRBA-PRO since you have a step-thru frame. Hitch classes will tell you the receiver tube opening size and typical capacity range. When it comes to certain bike racks, especially ones hauling heavy e-bikes, certain class requirements are...

Since the Trail Rider attaches at your bike's frame, it will bypass any potential cracking or damage to the bike's fenders. The Trail Rider only weighs 36.25 pounds. • Will the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver and Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack Work On a 2016 Nissan Murano
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13205 is an excellent option for a 2016 Nissan Murano and it will work well with the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack part # C18085. The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack weighs 46 lbs so a bit on the heavy side but still possible for one person to remove and install themselves.
