Hitch Pin Hole Depth

Note: For proper installation, this rack requires your hitch receiver to have a minimum distance of 1-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the face of the receiver.

Thule DoubleTrack Pro 2 Bike Rack

The Thule DoubleTrack Pro platform-style bike rack lets you carry 2 bikes using your vehicle's hitch. Adjustable, padded clamps hold your bikes firmly by the frames. Large, sliding wheel cradles accommodate bikes of different lengths, and they're designed to hold fat bike tires up to 5" wide. The integrated HitchSwitch lever allows the rack to fold up against the vehicle for storage, and the included One-Key System lock cylinders secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle.

Adjustable, Padded Clamps and Sliding Wheel Cradles

Thule DoubleTrack Pro Frame Clamps

The DoubleTrack Pro's adjustable frame clamps allow you to easily load 2 bikes of almost any size or shape. The 2 clamps move up and down the central mast independently, and they rotate as needed to grab any part of the bike's frame you need them to. The versatile clamps can secure your bike by the top tube, the downtube, or even the seat post, so you'll never have to worry about finding a contact point. The inner jaws of the clamps have a padded TPE lining. This padding helps absorb road shock and vibration and protects your bike frames from scratches and scuffs.

Thule DoubleTrack Pro Sliding Wheel Cradles

The sliding wheel cradles allow the rack to accommodate bikes with wheelbases up to 50" long. To adjust the cradles simply open the cam levers, slide the cradles to the desired location, and then close the cam levers. The large, deep cradles can hold fat tires up to 5" wide, and they include extra-long, ratcheting wheel straps to secure your bikes to the tray. The grooves running through the center of the cradles securely hold road bikes.

HitchSwitch Lever Folds Rack Up for Storage

Thule DoubleTrack Pro Folds for Storage

An integrated HitchSwitch lever at the base lets you fold the rack up against your vehicle when not in use.

Thule DoubleTrack Pro Folding Mast

To fold the rack up for storage you must first lower the central mast. Simply press the button on the front of the rack to fold the mast down.

Thule DoubleTrack Pro HitchSwitch Lever

Then just pull up on the HitchSwitch lever located at the end of the stinger, and lift the rack up. It will lock into place with an audible click.

Easy Installation with Threaded Hitch Pin

Thule DoubleTrack Pro Anti-Wobble Threaded Hitch Pin

The DoubleTrack Pro easily installs in your hitch with the included threaded hitch pin. Just slide the shank into your receiver, insert the hitch pin, and then tighten it down with the included tool. The pin also works as an anti-wobble device to eliminate sway and rattle in the receiver.

Thule DoubleTrack Pro Removable Adapter

A removable adapter sleeve is included so the rack can be converted for use with 1-1/4" hitch receivers. The sleeve attaches to the shank with a single screw and can be installed or removed quickly.

Complete Security

The rack comes with One-Key System lock cylinders to secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle with a single key.

Thule DoubleTrack Pro Locking Hand Knobs

The hand knob on each clamp includes a lock cylinder to secure your bikes to the rack. Once locked, the hand knobs spin free. This prevents would-be thieves from breaking the lock by over-tightening the clamps.

Thule DoubleTrack Pro Hitch Pin One-Key System Lock

The hitch pin also houses a lock cylinder to keep the rack from being removed from your hitch. One-Key System cylinders can be swapped out to make all of your Thule gear keyed alike.

Video Transcript for Thule DoubleTrack Pro 2 Bike Platform Rack Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule DoubleTrack Pro Platform Style 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. Part number TH9054. The Thule DoubleTrack Pro holds up to two bikes of almost any size or style including fat bikes. It secures our bikes in three locations. We've got a wheel strap for our front and rear cradles and then we have a large clamp holding our frame. The wheel cradles themselves are adjustable along the platform to accommodate wheel bases up to 50". The cradles will accommodate a road bike tire, a standard mountain bike tire, and fat tires up to 5" wide.

The strap itself features a rubber pad to protect our wheels. The center mast clamps are rubber coated to protect our bike's finish. They're going to work with a tube diameter of up to 3-3/16". They're very versatile in that they rotate and pivot to accommodate our top top tube, down tube or seat post tube reducing the need for a bike adaptor bar. Once you tighten down your ergonomic hand knob, they lock to prevent anyone from moving your bike from your bike rack. With both bikes removed, the center mast has the ability to fold down allowing us easy access to our rear hatch.

Simply press in the gray button, fold it down til it snaps in, and as you can see, we've got plenty of room to remove any cargo, gear, groceries, anything we might have with us on our trip. With the bike rack not in use, we can also fold it up against our vehicle for compact storage. We'll simply come down to the gray lever here and rotate it up until it snaps in. Now this would be ideal for pulling into your garage or in a close quarter parking spot. The inside rattle bolt reduces all the play and rattle within our receiver and our bike rack to make a nice solid ride for our bikes and bike rack. The lock on our anti-rattle bolt is inaudible 00:01:58 to the locks on our clamps and two keys are included. The whole bike rack is made out of a sturdy steel construction with a black powder coat finish so it's going to resist rust and corrosion.

It has a weight capacity of 37.5 pounds per bike and it features a limited lifetime warranty. On our test course let's first go into our slalom; this is going to show side to side action such as going round corners or evasive maneuvering. Then onto our solid speed bumps; this is going to show an up and down action such as pulling in and out of a driveway or out of a parking lot. And then finally onto our alternating speed bumps; this is going to show a twisting action such as driving over potholes or uneven pavement. Customers on our site are comparing this to the Kuat Transfer Platform Style 2 Bike Rack. Both can carry two bikes and they're both also going to fit your 1-1/4" and 2" receiver. Both bike racks also have the capability of carrying fat bikes.

The Kuat, however, the fat bike strap is sold separately whereas the Thule strap is included. Kuat does hold our bikes with zero frame contact and has the ability to tilt away - with bikes loaded - to gain access to our rear hatch; whereas the Thule does not tilt away, it does lock our clamps to our bike's frame. Kuat does have locks available but they're sold separately. Now that we know all the features I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. The vehicle we're going to be working with today has a 2" receiver. I've already got my included 2" sleeve installed on my shank, let's go ahead and put it into our receiver. Then we'll just line up our pinholes. Once we've got those lined up, we'll take our included anti-rattle bolt and lock . you can thread that through on either side. Once I get that hand tightened, I'll take my included tool and tighten that down the rest of the way. With the anti-rattle bolt tightened down we can go ahead and take our lock, put that on the end and lock it up. Now let's load up some bikes. We'll need to lower down the platform position and then raise up our center mast. To lower down the platform position, we've got a gray lever here in the center . lower it down until it snaps into place. Our center mast comes up by pushing in on the gray button here, then we raise that up until it snaps in. Since we're going to be loading up a fat bike first, we'll need to reconfigure our straps for fat tires. So I'm going to take it out, remove the rubber pad, then I'll guide the strap back down through. Once we see it coming out, like so, we can just pull it the rest of the way out. Then instead of going through the slot that we just came out of, we're just going to go through the open spot here alongside of our cradle. As you can see, by doing just that, we've got more strap to work with. Then we can replace our rubber pad. Then we'll just repeat the same process for our other cradle. Now it's recommended that we load the heaviest bike first, in this cases it's going to be our fat bike. I'm going to bring it round, I'll set my front tire in the cradle first and then my rear tire. As you can see with the rear cradle, we need to make some adjustments. No problem, we're just going to lift up on our gray lever, slide it back until it's where we want, and then lock it back down in place. With our bike in position, let's attach our clamp to our frame. I'm just going to adjust it upward on the center mast here by pushing in on the gray button, want to raise it up, then I'm going to rotate it in and then raise it up like this. With it there, I can now tighten up my knob. Now there's no reason to over tighten, just get it nice and snug and then you're all set. With our bike being held in place by our clamp, we can now run our straps. We want to be sure to go between our spokes . I'll be sure to adjust my rubber pad so it sits right on my wheel, then I'll connect it into the ratchet on the side and then pull it down nice and tight. With my first bike loaded up, I'm going to go ahead and load up my second bike but I'm going to load it up the opposite direction. That way, my handle bars do not make contact with one another. I'm going to set it in my front and rear cradles. With both of our bikes secure, let's go ahead and lock up our knobs. We'll take our two included keys and by doing so, as you can see, the knob free spins and no one can remove our bikes. That's going to complete our look at the Thule DoubleTrack Pro Platform Style 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. Part number TH9054.

At the time, I was a little hesitant to purchase a newer model bike rack without many reviews, but thanks to the video tutorial on this site explaining how to hook it all up, I felt more at ease with the purchase. I have been very happy with the rack for the past year, and have used it many many times, all without issue. I definitely recommend it. 525611

A little tricky putting it together, all sketches and no printed words for instructions. But, once together and set Up for your bikes, a very sturdy and secure carrier! Locks on the bikes and the hitch also. 656923

First I'll start with a tip if the hat to customer service! Excellent assistance when my intial order was discontinued and the newer model was shipped to me at same cost! The rack itself is made well and easy to put together. Thule evens Supply's the correct wrench and Allen key. The only concerns is the Movement of the bracket into the hitch. The plastic bushing, will become Worn sooner than later. I hope They sell replacements. Totally satisfied customer!! 432598

This Thule bike rack does have its own built in anti rattle lock. If you are still experiencing movement, the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch part # RM-061
Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches
$28.65
for 2 inch hitches or the RM-061-125 for 1-1/4 inch hitches are effective options to tighten up the space.

Like it, I love, love, love it. I am a widow, living alone, who loves to path bike alone and with friends. My first rack as not a hitch mount and was very difficult to put on with straps and then when I used my car 5th door, I could not. I was very unhappy. I called your store and told the salesperson my situation and that I was buying anew car and could get it with a hitch. I explained my situation and together we chose this model for its ease of use, locking ability for the mount and bikes, and MY ability to put it on and take it off without another person. I did have my nephew make a small dolly for me put move it in and out of the garage and to store the rack on during the winter. I can easily get anything in and out of the back of my car. AND it goes through he car wash too. I love this thing. And I really like etrailer sales assistance, service and follow up. Great company. 502484

I had recently received a Thule bicycle rack from etrailer. Unfortunately the weather had taken a sharp turn and we are now in the midst of a series of snowstorms. As such, I will await better weather before taking a closer look at this item. However, I was extremely pleased with the service regarding the purchase. etrailer had responded to my questions and the corresponding videos were extremely informative. The item shipped fast and this organization gave one the feeling that they were there every step of the way. I anticipate using etrailer again, for future purchases and would recommend etrailer for others. 484775

Just received the product, unboxed and put together. Very nice packaging, all arrived promptly and in good shape. Before you start, I would recommend you assemble by placing the receiver in your trailer hitch, or use a 6 ft plastic table, keep all the parts close by and organized. Thule instructions are slightly challenging, no words with the drawings to help out but anyone with a tiny bit of mechanical ability can handle it easily. Took me about an hour start to finish and I was in no rush. If you simply review one or two of the eTrailer videos, you will see how things are supposed to work so again, it's no big deal to put together. Couple recommendations, all minor IMHO, but may help make your installation a tad easier: - get a ratchet socket and dedicate it to your bike gear. The Thule multi tool included will endure both some frustration and sore knuckles otherwise. Plus adding it to your hitch and removing it from time to time will be so much easier with the socket readily available and keep your knuckles in good shape also. - take the end wrench they supply and fit into the end of each of the 5 screws before working with them. The fit is a tad bit off and its much easier if you seat the wrench before trying to screw them in. - when you bolt the two main sections together, tighten the bolts from the bottom, that way the plastic cover will stay out of your way and you won't risk scratching your new carrier - the lock lugs are a bit confusing to work with at first but easy enough, just test all your keys to make sure they work easily. There will be an extra key, different code number, that is used to remove the lugs if need be. Don't toss it, just mark and keep The hitch quality seems very solid in person, very pleased with that, and the price for the features is very nice. I can not say enough about the awesome, amazing customer service at eTrailer though, they have been responsive, helpful, totally professional and have all sorts of tools and answers to anything you may need help with. I highly recommend eTrailer.com, their staff and the value you will receive. More to come as I use the hitch this summer and fall! 672034

The rack is awesome. The customer service has been tremendous - I have received prompt, efficient help regarding a missing piece. I couldn't believe how quickly my rack arrived from etrailer. Only downer (NOT etrailer's fault): Thule's "wordless" (pictures only) instructions are pretty useless. 686483

I love the TH9054 bike rack. The bike wheels sit inside cups then the bike frame is clamped in with theft resistant clamping device. Two bikes can fit on the rack. Also the rack fits into either type hitch for easy mounting as well as theft resistant locking device. The rack is built very well and for the price I am very satisfied. I would recommend this rack to anyone. Great product. Sincerely, Tom Golden, Ocean View Delaware. 662640

Do you have a question about this Hitch Bike Rack?

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver to Fit a 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "direct fit" because all three of the Class III trailer hitch receivers we carry for your 2014 Subaru Outback are custom made and designed for your vehicle. The hitch that has the most factory-like look is the Ecohitch, part # 306-X7162. Once installed all you see is the open receiver tube under the rear bumper of your Subaru. Take a look at the picture I attached. The downside to this hitch is the install requries the bumper to be temporarily...

  • Will a Thule T2 Pro Bike Rack Fit an EcoHitch on a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek
  • The Thule T2 Pro bike rack # TH9034XT will fit EcoHitch # 306-X7203 for your 2017 Subaru Crosstrek. However, it requires a receiver depth of 2-1/2 inches so if you only have 2-3/8 inches it would fit the muffler if that is what is directly behind the hitch receiver. The auto-pin would not be an issue if there was room for the bike rack shank. What I recommend is the Thule DoubleTrack Pro # TH9054. It requires just 1-1/2 inches of receiver depth. No auto-pin to worry about with this rack....

  • If you don't already have a trailer hitch for your 2017 Chevy Volt, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class I # 24947 which is a custom fit. This hitch will have a measurement of 5-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper. That same measurement is 5-1/4 inches when using the Curt # C11436 which is also a fit for your vehicle. That hitch however requires stabilization strap # 18050 for a bike rack. The Draw-Tite hitch that you also mentioned is indeed designed for the BMW X5, but it will not fit the M model. You are correct that Curt does require that a stabilizing strap # 18050 be used with any non-trailer load like a bike rack. This isn't an indication of the strength of the hitch when compared to...

The Schwinn Suburban will work as is with the bike carrier if you connect the stabilizer to the seat support tube of the frame. You may also choose to use a bike adapter bar like # 64005. For your Forester there are Class II and Class III hitches available. The difference is the size of the receiver opening, capacity, and what accessories will fit each one. You'd instead need a bike rack that can grab the alternative style of frame your bike has and is compatible with fat tires. • Bike Rack Recommendation for 2017 Cadillac XT5 with Class II Hitch and 2 Trek Navigator 200 Bikes
  • For your 2017 Cadillac XT5 with Class II trailer hitch I recommend the new Thule DoubleTrack Pro # TH9054. This rack is more versatile that its predecessor since Thule did away with the frame hooks and went to frame clamps instead which have more adjustability. This rack weighs 35 pounds. I have linked a video review of this rack for you. For this rack to fit make sure that the distance from the center of your hitch pin hole to the rear edge of the bumper is less than 6-1/2 inches. If...

  • Using the Thule Doubletrack Pro with the Specialized Roll Low Entry
  • The Thule Doubletrack Pro, part # TH9054 is a great choice for the Specialized Roll Low Entry series. The frame clamp actually rotates around its mounting point on this bike rack to better fit to the bikes loaded onto the rack, and the adjustable wheel cradles can move forward and backwards, or be oriented on the same side for better adjustability for her bike to put whatever part of the frame that you want to latch to in line with the frame clamp. The real fitting concern that I have...

  • Bike Rack Solutions for Bike with Fender, Rear Rack and Stop Through Frame
  • We have bike rack solutions that work great with your cruiser bike that has fenders, rear rack, and a deep step through frame but none of the wheel attachment style racks like the Rola Convoy can be used. The arm has to grab the tire right near the forks to secure properly. Instead you'd want the Thule DoubleTrack Pro part # TH9054 if your bikes weigh less than 35 lbs which has a clamp design that works great with step through frames like what you have and it makes no difference if...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for Cruiser Bikes with Fenders and Step Through Frames
  • The best bike rack for bikes that have fenders and step through frames is the Thule Doubletrack Pro part # TH9054 as this platform bike rack has the most flexible style of frame clamps to fit bikes with step through frames like what you have. I attached a picture that shows this rack holding a bike with a step through frame like yours as well as a review video link for you to check out.

  • Weight Of Swagman XTC-2 Compared To Thule Doubletrack Bike Carrier
  • The Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Trailer Hitches # S64670 weighs about 30 lbs. The Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Hitch Mount # TH9054 weighs about 35 lbs. These are the weights without bikes loaded so if you are looking at tongue weight for your trailer hitch receiver, you will need to add this weight and up to 35 lbs per bike. Loaded with bikes to capacity, the Thule Doubletrack will weigh 105 lbs and the Swagman...

  • Best Bike Rack to Use with a Class C Motorhome and a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe
  • The Thule Doubletrack, part # TH9054 is not rated for RV use. Most racks that are folding, tilting or are rated for a Class 1 hitch aren't sturdy enough to take the increased forces that occur on the back of an RV. Instead, I recommend the Swagman Escapee, part # S64693 or Dispatch, part # S64684. Both are platform racks rated for use with an RV, and have a few differences that may matter to you depending on the type of bikes you have. The Escapee is a newer rack with a 60lb...

  • Using Curt # 18050 Reinforcement Strap on Thule Doubletrack Bike Rack Installed on 2005 Acura RL
  • The Curt # C11336 should accommodate your Thule Double Track Pro # TH9054 with no problem, but it's possible that you won't be able to take advantage of the rack's folding feature. We haven't had the opportunity to install this hitch on an Acura RL, so we don't know exactly how far under the vehicle the receiver opening will be once the hitch is installed. The rack will install as long as the distance between the hitch pin hole in the receiver and the furthest rearward portion of the back...

  • Recommended Bike Rack for a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek with EcoHitch InvisiHitch Installed
  • I went out to our warehouse and measured both the RockyMounts Backstage, part # RKY10002 and the SplitRail, part # RKY1140, and they both have shanks that extend 2.5 inches past the hitch pin hole, which in the case of the EcoHitch, part # 306-X7203, and its open styled shank, is enough to contact or damage your vehicle behind the hitch receiver when installed. Instead, I recommend the Thule Doubletrack Pro, part # TH9054 , which only has a shank that requires 1-1/2 inches of depth,...

  • Lightweight Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for 1-1/4 inch Hitch
  • Platform bike racks are pretty heavy for the most part. The Thule DoubleTrack part # TH9054 weighs in around 35 lbs. I think your best option would be the Saris Freedom Superclamp EX part # SA4025F. This is a high-quality, US-made platform bike rack that only weighs 30 lbs. An additional feature of this bike rack that sets it apart is that it will only touch the tires of your bikes when they are installed on it. I attached a review video for this bike rack as well.

  • Recommended Hitch Mounted Bike Rack With Rear Bumper Clearance on a 2017 Chevy Cruze LT
  • With the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24943, you have 5 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest part of the bumper. The Thule DoubleTrack Pro 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # TH9054 has a measurement of 6-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of rack when folded down, so that wouldn't be an issue, however when folded up, the closest part is 5 inches so it would touch your bumper and rub. For a rack better...

  • Installation of the Draw-Tite Hitch 75578 on a 2012 Jeep Liberty Sport
  • Good news, I can help you figure out how the Draw-Tite Hitch # 75578 will mount on your 2012 Jeep Liberty Sport. You are correct, if the hitch has to protrude then the more economically priced Curt hitch # 13245 will be a good solution for your Liberty. I've attached some image of the Draw-Tite Hitch mounted on the 2012 Jeep Liberty for you to take a look at. The hitch does stick out from underneath the vehicle quite a bit, unlike the one on your Grand Cherokee. While it isn't very...

  • We carry two Class I Curt trailer hitches, # C11701 and # 11820, for your 2006 Mercedes-Benz E350 Wagon. I would recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11701, because it has the highest towing and tongue weight capacity between the two hitches and it is the most cost effective. I have attached product links and installation instructions to both hitches for you to check out. Please note that Curt requires the use of a support strap, # 18050, with all hitch mounted accessories. We have...

I attached a video of this rack being reviewed for you to check out. If you do not have a hitch installed on your vehicle already I would recommend you get a Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24787.
