The Swagman Titan stands tall among hitch-mounted bike racks on the market, combining affordability and versatility into one sleek package. The Titan offers ultimate stability with a dual-arm design that provides your bikes with maximum ride support.

Swagman Titan hitch-mounted bike rack folding arms

The dual arms conveniently fold down for storage when you pull a T-handle release at the top of the mast.

Swagman Titan hitch-mounted bike rack tilting mast

The bike rack can also be tilted away from your vehicle for access to your rear cargo area - just pull the T-handle release at the rack base.

Swagman Titan hitch-mounted bike rack cable lockSwagman Titan hitch-mounted bike rack cable lock installed

For your peace of mind, the Titan includes a cable lock built into the upright mast. This cable lock attaches to a post at the end of the left-hand arm to lock your bikes to the rack. The 8-mm steel cable retracts into the mast for storage when not in use.

Swagman Titan hitch-mounted bike rack anti-sway cradles

The Titan has anti-sway cradles that rotate and slide along the dual arms to perfectly position your bikes, reducing the need for a bike adapter bar. The cradles include durable rubber straps to hold your bikes firmly in place on the rack. The cradles secure each bike at three places (twice along the top tube and once at the seat post or downtube), keeping your bikes from rocking back and forth and preventing bike-to-bike contact.

Swagman Titan hitch-mounted bike rack shank adapter

This rack includes a two-piece adapter that attaches around the shank to convert your rack for use on 2-inch hitch receivers. For use with 1-1/4 inch receivers, use the rack without the adapter.

Swagman Titan hitch-mounted bike rack anti-rattle hitch pin

An anti-rattle, threaded hitch pin and clip are included to secure the rack to your trailer hitch receiver and eliminate rattle during transport. To lock your rack to the hitch, replace the pin and clip with Swagman's anti-rattle lock (S64029; sold separately).

Video Transcript for Swagman Titan Hitch Bike Rack Review

Today well be reviewing the Swagman Titan four-bike carrier part number S63410. This bike rack features a carrying capacity of four bikes with a dual arm design, which promotes bike stability. This rack does have the ability to fit both an inch and a quarter to a two-inch hitch with the aide of an adapter. It comes with an anti-rattle bolt and clip to secure your rack to the hitch firmly. Titan rack also tilts down to allow for easier access to vehicles trunk or hatch. The arms of the rack also fold down for storage purposes.

The anti-sway cradles on the rack can rotate left, or right, or move front or back to accommodate different styles of frames in womens bikes. To secure the bike there are thick rubber straps, which keep the bike,s firmly in place on the top of the frame as well as the sit post to prevent bike-to-bike contact. Finally, theres the integrated steel cable lock located in the mast of the rack. Now well show these features off in more detail. First, well show you how to switch from a two-inch to an inch and quarter shank.

You simply remove this Allen bolt here and the adaptor will come off. Now we are ready to install our rack. Well line up our holes and install the anti-rattle bolt where we can then tighten it down. With that down, well now show you how it tilts. You pull on this lever here gently let down.

Now you have better access to your trunk. Well go ahead and push it back into the upright position where well now pull this lever and fold the arms up and out. You can see here how the cradles can move and adjust as needed. Well undo the straps of the cradles and now we are ready to load our bike. A special note here is when using the Titan four-bike carrier on a class one hitch you are limited to two bikes.

For review purposes, we are loading the bike on the furthest cradle out. Normally it is recommended to load from the inner most cradle out. Well strap it down into position, and finally well use our integrated lock to completely secure it and there you have it for part number S63410, the Swagman Titan four-bike rack.

Very good product. Happy to find a bike rack that fits my 2005Rav4 that has a spare tire at the back of the car. Very easy to install. Instructions for use of the key that was with the rack was missing, but I was able to find on etrailer's website. Top of the rack was around one inch above the highest point of the spare tire. Touched a bit of the tire cover when I started loading the bikes, but requires a minor positioning, moving to one side by less than an inch to make sure it doesn't touch the spare tire cover. Minimal sway on movement, but stable all the way from Massachusetts to Maine, and back. Unfortunately still unable to open the car's back door even when tilted, but this should not be a problem with newer cars that have move clearance at the back. Just have to move the car seat forward to have access to the back of the car, but at least I can travel with all bikes (3). Needs a "tube" for kids bikes. Also needs a tool to tighten/ remove the screw into the hitch, but should not be a problem if one can access the back of the car by tilting the rack, and doesn't have to remove the rack all the time. Not a perfect rack for my current car, but best match I could find, given the minimal clearance at the back because of the spare tire. Should be able to use with a future car. 289268

We had 2 adult bikes and 2 kids bikes loaded on the carrier. We took a trip to northern Wisconsin, over 800 miles total, and the rack worked perfectly. No damage to bikes or to car. Great product and very sturdy. 216317

Easy to assemble the 3 screws that require installing. Don't really like the bolt instead of the pin securing the rack to the trailer hitch. Very satisfied other wise. Thank you for a well made product. 147032

After getting some amazing help from etrailer (thanks, Mike!), I decided on the Swagman Titan 4. I bought it to replace a Yakima Doubledown that I returned because I was very unhappy with it. The Titan is equal to or better than the Doubledown in just about every way (The Yak gets the nod for their trick anti-wobble mechanism). The tilt and fold mechanisms are easy to use and smooth. The rise in the shank is absolutely essential for a low sedan like mine (Subaru Legacy). The cradles can rotate to fit a wide variety of bike geometries. The anti-wobble screw is fine, but I'm considering sacrificing some of that stability for the ease of mounting and removal of a standard pin (so I don't need a wrench to take the rack off the car). The only thing that makes me just a little bit nervous is that the attachment points for the rubber straps flex a bit more than I'm used to. They work fine, the straps attach easily, and maybe they're designed to flex like that. But I do wonder how they'll hold up over time. Overall, I could hardly be happier. Thanks Swagman for a great product and etrailer for outstanding customer service! 107637

This thing is nice! A little heavy, but, it's very roomy. I'm using it on a Toyota Tundra. This truck has a Class IV hitch, so the pin that is included wouldn't fit all the way through. I had to modify the hole in the rack a little to be able to use my regular locking hitch pin. Very nice rack indeed! Ohh!! I LOVE the straps. They are very secure. 59027

Just installed on my Subaru outback. Fit is great. I haves put any bikes on it yet but I am sure it will work fine. Only negative that I can think of is that it weighs a lot. I was thinking of attaching it only while using it; but decided to lock it to the hitch and leave it in the car as it will save time when going biking. 39240

Its a great product. Very sturdy and well made. Has the nice tilt back feature. The only negative is that it sticks out far enough that I don't even have to use the tilt feature when i open up my hatchback on my 2014 prius. I may see if I can cut it down about 6in. 207557

One of the few racks that will clear my Jeep's large rear mounted spare tire without using an extender. The other is the Allen which doesn't have the nice features the Swagman Titan has. Tips enough to allow partial opening of Jeep rear door, but enough to open the soft top rear window. The vertical portion of rack tips slightly toward vehicle (at least it does on mine). Would be better if the horizontal "S" shaped piece could be turned around to dip down, moving it further from the spare tire, but there are only holes drilled to mount it as shown. Can't attest to the durability yet, but it doesn't wobble even a tiny bit. Have to compliment everyone I spoke with at etrailer. very nice and extremely helpful. 56751

Overall nice product, but I wish the locking cable was longer to weave through both wheels and frame. Since wheels have quick attach skewers theives can easily take your wheels. 55724

The Titan model bike rack by Swagman is a bit heavy, but that's easily accepted because of its beefy construction. It requires very little time and effort to assemble. It slides into a two inch trailer hitch and after tightening the locking bolt, I found it very rigid, which would result in no rattling, when underway at 60 miles per hour transporting two adult bicycles. The fold down feature for trunk access is a snap to operate and likewise the fold down feature of the rack bar. The video produced on etrailer.com's web site was most helpful in making my decision over many competitive products and the rack performs exactly as shown. 409998

eTrailer.com had my new Swagman Titan bike rack delivered super fast. I received the right amout of email communication informing me of the status of my order, plus I could track my delivery directly from the eTrailer website. Awesome! As for the hitch, I am so happy with it. I was tired of taking the front wheel off my bike and cramming it into the back of my small Corolla, it never really fit right, was always a struggle, and then I had no room for anything else in my car. Now, I just hang my bike onto the rack and strap it in, takes less than 60 seconds and I have all the extra room in my car and don't have to fold down the back seats. The other feature I really like is that this bike rack has an integrated locking cable, once your bike is on the rack, you attach the locking cable so now your bike is locked onto the rack. Someone can't take your bike off the rack and walk away with it when you aren't looking. I also got the Swagman bike rack locking pin, that attaches the bike rack to the car hitch. I've used the bike rack twice so far and it makes my life so much easier. Solidly built bike rack that is well worth it. Thank you eTrailer, you rock! 41009

relatively easy to attach especially to a Mustangit is a little heavy but its it's in a position that allows the trunk to be open without any modificationsI always thought of bike it was ridiculous on a Mustangbut I have to say it looks pretty goodit's relatively easy to get the bike on 2 is a little crowdedbut most the time I just carry one bikeit was also very helpful to have the experts tell me if this would fit beforehand 148889

Well, I just received my swagman s63400. When I put it on the car, well thats were the problem is. At the bottom were the tilt out lock is, I have a lot of play. When I put the 2 bikes on they wiggle a lot. I am talking to the dealer to see if he can help me with that problem. Other than that it seems to be well built except for the wiggle problem. Hope we can solve that. I did tighten the single bolt, as instructed but no luck their. Frank K. 213386

Review from a similar Swagman Titan in Hitch Bike Racks

While Cathy did a fantastic job supporting my purchase, it is shame they did not have my first choice available for purchase. As matter of fact, my first choice was shown as available, but the shipping department shipped me the incorrect unit. The unit they shipped was not for a class I hitch. It was quite easy to return, excluding the fact that I had to drive 35 miles round trip to go to a USPS shipping station. My vacation schedule precluded my waiting for the manufacturer to build and forward a unit for shipping to me. My second choice was also shown in stock, but they could not find it in the shipping department. Cathy stayed on top of this purchase and contacted me and we eventually found a third car bike rack that I could live with. The two (2) bike rack that I did get (S63400) is very well built and worth the $$, but it is heavier (a bit over 30 #) than my originally preferred unit. The bolt assembly needed to install the unit in the class one hitch will preclude my wife from installing the bike rack on her car with out my help. Cathy gets a 10 and the shipping department get a 1 in my book. 208976

Thanks to e-trailer's recommendation, I actually upgraded my choice to the Titan. Easy to use, bulit very well, and with the ability to use a 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitch, I am now using it on both my car and truck. I really like the ease and design on how you can tilt both the whole carrier or just the top arms. 40325

Great bike rack.. No more worrying about the bikes in tow. Simple to install and love the built in locking cable to protect the bikes when left alone. First test drive with bikes in tow showed no sway or bouncing around. Don't even know they are back their. Highly recommend this rack. 39512

Since there are only Class I and Class III hitches available for your 2008 Honda CR-V I would recommend you get a Class III hitch like the Draw Tite Hitch # 75547. This hitch will allow you to have greater flexibility for picking future hitch accessories like cargo carriers due to the larger amount of products made to work on 2 inch hitches. I attached installation instructions and an installation video for this product...

  • Trailer Hitch and Ground Clearance for a 2006 Toyota Matrix XRS and Curt Trailer Hitch # C12013
  • The Curt trailer hitch # C12013 will have the receiver just below the rear fascia on your 2006 Toyota Matrix. Take a look at the review with pictures on the product page to get an idea of where it will be. Curt does say that you need to use a stabilization strap, # 18050, for any non-trailer loads such as a bike rack. It will be close to the ground and steep inclines like driveways could cause the hitch to scrape on the ground. The Saris Glide EX, # SA774, will only fit in a Class...

  • Recommended Bike Rack to Use While Towing a Camper on a 2013 Ford F-150
  • I have a solution for a bike rack that you can use with your Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount # D210 on your 2013 Ford F-150. We do have a few different bike rack that have a rise in the shank that you are looking for. I test fit 2 different bike racks with the same setup that you would have on a trailer that has a latch that, when in the upright or unlock position, was 4-1/2 inches in high. The Swagman Titan # S63410 that you referenced did not have enough clearance to allow the 4-1/2...

  • Recommended Hitch Mounted 4-Bike Rack for a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban
  • The Reese Eclipse 4 bike rack you mentioned is good choice for the occasional rider who will be transporting their bikes for short distances. The lack of anti rattle cradles and the hook and loop fasteners that secure the bikes into the cradles would make me a little leery of recommending it for frequent use or for long trips. The Thule Hitching Post Pro, part # TH934XTR is an excellent rack with all the necessary features at a reasonable price. The rack features anti-rattle cradles...

  • Recommendation for Carrying 4 Bikes on BMW 535i
  • The 2015 BMW 5 Series will use a Class I trailer hitch like the Curt trailer hitch # C11381. Due to their limited tongue weight capacity Class 1 trailer hitches are limited to carrying 2 bikes so you won't be able to carry four bikes with the Swagman Titan Bike Rack # S63410. The limited tongue weight capacity (maximum amount of downward force that can be safely applied to the hitch) is one reason, but additional bikes after the first two move the load further rearward away from the receiver...
