Note: This dual-arm rack reduces the need for a bike frame adapter bar (sold separately) to mount a children's, women's, or alternative frame bicycle. However, to mount certain bikes or to keep your bike level on the rack, a bike adapter bar may be required. Most step-through bikes, dual-suspension bikes, and small children's bikes will require a bike adapter bar.

The versatile Rola TX-103 hitch-mounted bike carrier allows you to safely and securely carry three bicycles of almost any frame size on the back of your vehicle.

Rola TX-103 bike rack anti-sway cradles

The bike rack has large, soft anti-sway cradles that hold your bikes securely in place during travel with rubber straps and that accommodate bike-frame tube sizes up to 2" wide and 3" tall. The anti-sway devices touch your bike frame at three points to keep the bikes from moving back and forth, eliminating bike-to-bike contact during travel and protecting your bikes's painted surfaces. The cradles can be repositioned along the rack arms to ensure that your bikes remain properly spaced.

Rola TX-103 bike rack arm folding leverRola TX-103 bike rack arms folded down

The TX-103 has dual arms that provide your bikes with excellent support. You can fold down the arms for convenient storage when the rack is not in use by removing the handle mounted on the top of the upright support arm. When the arms are lowered replace the handle to lock the arms in place in the down position.

Rola TX-103 bike rack integrated cable lock

The bike carrier includes an integrated cable lock that stores inside the upright support arm when you are not using the rack. The cable lock secures to a post at the end of one of the rack arms to lock your bikes to the carrier. The cable lock comes with two keys.

Rola TX-103 tilting bike rackRola TX-103 bike rack tilted

The TX-103 offers easy access to the rear cargo area without your having to remove the bikes from the rack. You can tilt the bike carrier away from your vehicle by removing a pin and clip at the foot of the rack. Pull the upright arm of the rack up and forward until it rests on the stops that keep it from hitting the ground. To restore the rack to the upright position, push the rack back into place and insert the pin and clip.

Rola flip shank

The bike carrier features Rola's patented flip shank, which has both a 1-1/4" square end and a 2" square end for use with either size hitch receiver. The shank rotates around a clevis pin and locks into your desired position with a simple pin and clip. This eliminates the need for a hitch adapter and makes moving the rack between vehicles very quick and easy.

The traps that hold the bike are rubber, the first one broke after the 2nd use. Its stable but the straps are not strong at all. 609837

This is the best bike rack. Very sturdy, easily assembled and easy to use. The tilting feature is fantastic because there is enough room for my dog to get in and out the back without taking the bikes off. 645045

I would rate this higher if it was only for light use, around town short trips type and only 2bikes. I took it on a road trip with 3 regular bikes. It was quite a puzzle to get them all on. As we travelled the arms drooped lower and lower and the bikes moved against each other so much that we had some damage. I replaced it during our trip fro fear the arms would break or the bikes would drag because they were so low. 442587

Excellent product. Got it for a fifth wheel application and it works great. Straps are versatile to accommodate different frames and secure well. Security cable is a plus. Just moved it over to a 2018 Chevy Tahoe and the tilt back feature is perfect for allowing the rear door to raise. Would buy again. Thanks to etrailer. No one has faster shipping! 577864

Curt trailer hitch & Rolo 3 bike rack for 2017 Toyota Rav4 SE 477670

This rack is sweet. It looks great putting it together was a bit confusing at first but didn't take too long at all to figure out. I have it on my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder and fits well it the bolt that is attached to the 2 inch hitch is extremely tight. There is no give in the attachment between the two only a little give where the silver bar attaches to the hitch pieces. It fits my bike just perfect and it rocks! Overall it has a smooth ride the frame no shake attachment is a great touch. A bang for the buck. 142160

It has been a year now and it still holds up I had three bikes on it for a 6 hour trip going over 5 mountain passes and all the bikes were still on. The hitch attachment is sturdy, however, the rack shakes alot from other attachments. It is fine to hold bikes I just wish it didnt bounce around as much when not being used.

Thanks for your follow up and reply. Depending on your vehicle configuration you may want to consider using an item like the Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap # 18050. Using a strap like this can help eliminate some of the bounce you mentioned.

The bike rack performs well. The only problem I experienced is that the cable lock sometimes catches on something when I try to extend it from its stowed position; thus making it difficult to use. 804037

Just received and mounted on vehicle. Looking forward to first use. Great value and no issues mounting. The only very small issue was two very small scratches in protective coating due to parts hitting during shipping. Overall very well satisfy. Once I mount bikes and use I will have complete review. 803887

Assembly was simple because the instructions were understandable and complete. Once it was fully assembled, we were pleasantly surprised as to how solid the rack feels. We attached to our car and set one bike in place. Getting the bike in place and secured by the straps was a bit difficult the first time, but once I we understood which straps went where, it was clear for the future. In driving to our favorite bike path, it was comforting knowing that we now have a solid, secure and easy rack to use for a long time. 795094

Received my order 2 days earlier than estimated time of delivery. Went together quite easily with only one “reinstall” dudes don’t read instructions unless something doesn’t look right. Installed on back of Nissan Frontier and happy to see it clears tailgate when tilted out. Have not loaded bikes on yet but I can see no problems and rack fills sturdy. Great price and look forward to using the rack. Two thumbs up!! 645121

This bike rack is sturdy and easy to use. I didn't even need an adapter for the womans bike. I've been searching and I ended up with this Rola 3 bike rack. I liked the style and features you get for the price compared to the higher end bike racks. Thanks Rola for providing great quality for a nice price. 553271

Lots of good useful features. Good quality. I have a normal hard tail mens mountain bike and I have to use an adapter bar with it. I expected to need one for my wife's bike but needing it for both really increased the overall price. Seems like it would be hard to fit a third bike on it. The lock can be removed with one Phillips head screw. Not very secure. 553039

  • Bike Rack Options For Downhill Mountain Bike With Slanted Frame
I can see how the frame of your sons bike has a slanted cross tube which may make it difficult to properly hang it on a hanging bike rack because there is not a horizontal surface to hang the bike from. That would be the same issue you will have with the Rola TX-103 3-Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches part # 59403 because it's a hanging bike rack. We haven't had the chance to test fit the Rola TX-103 # 59403 on a 2007 Toyota RAV4 but you can take a measurement to determine if it will fit. Measure from the center of the trailer hitch pin hole out to the furthest point on the spare tire. For the Rola to fit you need more 10 inches of clearance if you have a 2 inch trailer receiver or 10-3/4 inches if it's a 1-1/4 inch receiver. The rack weighs a little over 30 pounds.

  • How to Carry a Women's Bike on a Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Carrier
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.

First, Velcro or hook and loop as they are called if not the Velcro brand, are considered less superior to other types of straps including rubber. They are not as durable as rubber. The thing with rubber straps though is that they can get over-stretched. That happens because people think the straps have to be as tight as possible but they don't. They just have to be snug. Rubber is also better at protecting the bike frames. Hook and loop straps will still work fine in the rain. They...
