Kuat Transfer 1-Bike Rack

The Transfer platform-style bike rack lets you carry 1 bike on the back of your vehicle. The rack holds your bike by the wheel - not the frame - to protect your paint. The low tray height takes the strain out of mounting your bike on the rack, and the pivoting cradle and ratcheting wheel hook make loading your bike quicker and easier when compared with a rack that has a center post and frame hook. A foot pedal lets you tilt the rack with your bike loaded for access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. And the pedal lets you fold the rack up for storage, too.

Perfect Fit Adjustment System

The Transfer has a Perfect Fit adjustment system that lets you carry your bike safely and securely without the fear of damaging the frame. The system includes a ratcheting hook that holds your bike firmly by the front wheel, adjustable front wheel cradle, and pivoting rear cradle that secures your rear wheel to the rack. This hook and adjustable cradle ensure a perfect fit for each of your bikes' body styles.

Ratcheting Hook

The ratcheting hook secures your bikes' front wheel to the rack. Place your bike on the cradle then simply slide the hook down over your wheel until it clicks in place. The hook holds your bike firmly in place without contacting the frame. Press the thumb release button on the hook to slide it up and remove your bike.

Adjustable Front-Wheel Cradle

The front cradle has a bolt locator tab that allows the pitch to be adjusted. In its upright position the cradle sits at the optimal position for holding a normal-size bike. Use the included Allen key to flip the bolt locator tab upside down. This allows the cradle to sit in a position that tilts more toward the center of the rack so that the tire of a children's bike will fit snugly.

Pivoting Rear-Wheel Cradle

The Transfer has a pivoting cradle that adjusts to your bikes' rear wheel on the rack. Rotate the cradle out to accommodate a bike with a wheelbase up to 47" long or rotate it toward the center of the rack to accommodate a smaller bike. A ratcheting strap secures your wheel to the cradle. A strap extender kit (sold separately) is available to convert the cradle for use with a fat bike.

Spring-Loaded Foot Lever

The spring-loaded foot lever is easily accessible even with your bike loaded. No more crawling through your bike or squeezing between the rack and the vehicle to hit the tilt release lever.

The foot lever lets you easily tilt the rack down to allow access to your vehicle's rear cargo area - even with the bike loaded. It leaves both hands free so that you can lower the rack in a controlled manner.

When the rack is unloaded you can fold it up for storage. This makes it easier to park in small lots at the trail head or in cramped parking garages, and it keeps the rack out of the way of other vehicles and riders.

Adapter Sleeve with Threaded Hitch Pin

A removable sleeve on the shank lets you convert the rack for use with 1-1/4" hitches. The rack also comes with an anti-rattle device incorporated into the shank to reduce vibration and noise in the hitch for a smooth, quiet ride. Simply tighten the hitch bolt with the included 3/4" wrench.

There is also an optional cable lock and hitch lock (sold separately) that lets you secure your bike to the rack and the rack to your vehicle.

The carrier was a simple assembly and install. Well written instructions and all tools were included. Operates really simply and fits my 2018 Sentra SV just as it should with the Draw Tite receiver I purchased here. Had a few questions for the etrailer folks and all were answered quickly and courteously. Couldn't be happier with my new carrier! 619136

Great rack except the 1"1/4 is extremely loose in the hitch..It would flop all over if it didn't have the screw hitch pin!!! Seems like Kuat could have done much better with the tolerance. 598795

We do offer anti-rattle devices that will tighten up the space in between the shank of your accessory and the hitch receiver. I recommend roadmaster quiet hitch for 1 1/4 inch hitches part # RM-061-125

Just received product yesterday. etrailer.com is always awesome to deal with and everyone is so friendly. Opened the box and notice the packaging could have been a little better from Kuat. There were some scratched plastic pieces. I know they will get scratched, but at least let me do it. :) Once all the parts were out, it looked well thought out and easy to install. I watched many videos on the assembly and noticed a couple of things not mentioned in the instructions. Nothing big, just a few small things. One of the things I didn't like were how the end caps installed. When you tighten them down so they don't flop around, the caps don't line up with the frame. I ended taking them back out and installing 2 small washers inside to fill the gap when tightening them back down. Installing on the car was very easy. You do need to use some muscle when tightening down the anti-rattle sleeve to the car. Mine is a 1-1/4 hitch. I bought the locking pin (hitch-car). It is pretty loose on the pin. Would have thought it would be a little better. I bought this rack for my wife. It is nice that it is not very heavy and there isn't much adjustment for the bike. Just put the bike on the rack and strap it down. 592130

So glad to have my transfer. I drive a smaller vehicle and wanted something that looked good on my car and held my bike securely without touching the frame. This definitely fits the bill. I have already put in some miles with confidence my bike is safe. I do wish there was a way to secure without cables locks, which can be cut easily. Maybe a place to secure with a d lock or a lock on the rachet arm. . Other than that I love it. Assembly was a breeze and removal/ attaching is easy to take the car thru a car wash. 643068

Another great product from Kuat!!! eTrailer's video reviews were very helpful in making my decision. Reasonable shipping for a large item too. Haven't needs to use their customer service yet, Kuat stuff is that good, but it i needed anything about the product i would contact them directly. They are very good with the customer service as well. It's comfort to do business with a quality retailer that sells quality product from quality manufacturers. Covered all the way around. 588187

Sturdy and adjustable. Exactly as advertised, no surprises or disappointments. Holds our two mountain bikes with no issues, even when we drive gravelly, pot hole filled roads. The rack arrived completely disassembled but included instructions that must be followed, otherwise the rack will not secure the bicycles correctly. 600019

I'm really happy with my new kuat bike carrier. I'm impressed how well it secures the bikes so easily. (Both road & mtb) I also like the three different positions. (Up, middle, down) It has really came in handy transporting more than one bike now. (Use to put inside car) etrailer also shipped asap and followed up with me about my order! 491606

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

This is as nice a two bike, platform hitch rack as I've seen at any price.( Getting it through etrailer made it even less expensive than everywhere else.) Everything about this rack speaks of quality. The only negative review that I saw said if left on the vehicle for a couple of years caused it to rust out. I sprayed WD-40 liquid lithium on the inside of all the steel tubes. (I learned to do this with all my archery tree stands.) I'm hoping that my wife and I are good to go for many years. And the rack sure does look nice on our new VW Tiguan! 485892

it does the job and it very simple to work and i like the option of 1.25 or 2" sleeve. Time will tell on the quality. We have used it regularly since June 2018 long trips 3-9 hours of driving and several local 30 min drives and never has shown signs of loosening up and bikes tumbling down the road. 562794

I ordered a Kuat Transfer 2 for my 2017 Subaru Outback with a 2" DrawTite hitch. Michael H cautioned me that the Transfer 2 would fit my vehicle but might not fold up when not in use due to proximity to the tailgate. I received the rack promptly and assembled it with no problems. It is a bit heavier than I would like but very sturdy. The rack will actually fold up OK on my car but as expected there is not much clearance. I will soon try it all out and report any issues. So far, very good experince with the rack and e-trailer. 295045

This bike rack has been great. Got it originally because I wanted something that my wife was able to use by herself and this fit the bill. Very easy and quick to get bikes on and off. Never had any issues with stability either. We've taken 2 bikes on several cross country trips from PA to UT and back and also PA to FL. Folds conveniently and the full lowered position allows me to load and unload our recumbent trike in the SUV without removing the rack. 571297

Took less than 30min to put together and is simple to operate. Was a little nervous of how stable bike would be with only the front wheel hold down, BUT once i had it locked down I took it for a test drive over some bumpy roads and was extremely impressed with how solid the bike was held. 473089

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

I like the rack as it was affordable. I tend to leave on my car often and where i live it rains often. The other day i folded the rack all the way down and rust colored water poured out of the base supports. While affordable it was still expensive and would think for what it is, this would hold up better. 604684

Comments

The Kuat transfer bike rack is made of steel so it is susceptible to rust and corrosion if left in a moist environment. If the bike rack is left in the rain in the stowed position for extended periods of time the water will get inside of the bike rack and begin to corrode the inside. Which is why is why the rust colored water poured out when you unfolded it. It is a good idea to take the bike rack off of the vehicle sometimes and make sure there is not water inside of it. If you would like to switch to a more corrosive resistant material bike rack, Kuat does offer an aluminum bike rack part # SH22P. The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 is made of mostly aluminum parts, weighs 20 lbs less than the transfer and is considered rust proof. The only real difference between the Kuat Sherpa and Transfer is the Sherpa only allows you to carry 2 bikes.

The Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Platform Rack is a well-designed and functional bike carrying rack. Assembly instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The tilting rack works very well, even loaded with two bikes, and provides ample clearance when opening the rear tailgate. I am very confident that my bikes will travel safe and secure on the Kuat Transfer 2. 579422

Kuat Carrier works fantastic; slick and quick with no required wheel removal; works well for both my 29er and 700c rigs. Kuat may consider a slight redesign relative to the lock anchor/fastener type and placement; as it is now, the lock and cable can be removed with the correct Allen/socket head wrench; a tamperproof fastener would be preferred. Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

We race BMX & use this rack multiple times a week from early spring through late fall. It pretty much stays on the vehicle from March through November. The bike securing part is great. Once you secure your bikes, there's no worrying about them working loose. My only complaint is when the rack is in the upright, stowed position, it rattles a good deal as you drive. I've traced it back to the foot latch you depress to move the rack from upright, to bike hauling, to hatch access positions. In the upright position, there's just not enough tension to hold the rack still. It's fairly annoying if you pay attention to such things. i suppose such thing are to be expected when you buy the "cheap" option from kuat. 353625

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

I assembled this rack pretty easily by myself in about an hour--easy instructions & all the hardware was clearly marked. Heads up: Getting the rack into the hitch was the tricky part--very hard to get it in with just 2 people. Not only is it very heavy & therefore very sturdy (52 lbs.), but the part that attaches to the hitch rotates up & down, so I needed my husband & our neighbor to lift it while I guided it into the hitch. With the 3 of us that part took only a couple of minutes. It folds up great--I thought it would add much more length to the car, but it is very compact when folded. The foot pedal is such a breeze to use. Taking the rack down takes a few seconds; at 1st I could not figure out how to reach the foot pedal when folding it back up. Then I realized I just had to swing the 1st two arms OUT to sides so I could walk in & depress the pedal. After I lifted the rack a few inches, I then could swing the arms all the way inward, & then finish snapping the rack into the folded position. The rack did wiggle a bit when I tested it by shaking it with my hand, but it not make any noise while driving, with or without the bikes on! I am very happy with it! 487012

Instructions were good and it was easy to put together, my wife and I had it put together and installed in about an hour. Excellent quality, heavy duty construction, holds bikes securely, no rattling, sqeaking, or excessive movement during transport either. Folds up nicely out of the way when not in use. This is the second unit I have purchased. I bought one over a year ago and love it. I bought a second one for my son to use while he’s away at college. I really like way this design holds the bikes; very secure and easy to switch between road bikes and mountain bikes. I would strongly recommend the lock kit - just buy it right away. It’s so much better being able to leave the vehicle and never worry about your bikes being stolen. 603165

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

As per prior experiences with etrailer, my Kuat Transfer two bike rack with fat bike kit arrived quickly, completely and in perfect shape! And, I am VERY happy with the rack. It fits perfectly on my faithful old Subaru Baja and accommodates nicely the car (truck?) tailgate operation. Our road bikes, cruiser, 27.5 mtb and fat bikes all ride smoothly and securely - even on our local, horribly rough cobble stone streets. And, by the way, the fat bike has 26 X 4.5 tires. That tire size was a concern since some of the rack specs were contradictory as to whether 4.25 or 4.5 was the widest compatible tire. Whoever Kuat are, they've made a huge impression on me - the rack comes packaged like a Xmas present! The overall quality and design are awesome - even if I didn't own a bicycle, I would want the rack just because it improves the looks of my car so much! And finally, but don't tell anyone - it is compatible with my old screw-on, locking hitch pin! Thank you etrailer and thank you Kuat! 433271

Im glad I went so over the top on my review, because the rack has been absolutely perfect! I keep it installed permanently for biking throughout the year including severe cold and snow. It looks and works as well as when it was new!

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

The 2 bike Kuat Transfer arrived in 3 days, as promised by Noah at Etrailer- great job! Directions were good, and I liked that the different nuts, bolts and hardware were packaged in sections based on their use, and that they provide all the tools, including a box wrench to bolt the carrier on to the hitch. I did have one question and got a service rep from Kuat, who explained what was unclear. The bike rack is really solid and easy to use. It folds up close to the rear of my Murano when not in use, and the foot release also lets the bike rack fold forward to open the hatchback door, even with the 2 bikes on! Etrailer has the best price, also got the hitch from them, same fast delivery- highly recommended! 576253

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

Delivery on time as scheduled; trailer staff was very helpful in answering questions about usability at the time we ordered. Assembly was easy enough; the enclosed would have been sufficient, but the KUAT video online gave nice confirmation. This rack is to replace a Yakima we returned that was just too heavy for my wife to put up and down on her own. This one is much more user-friendly, and the foot pedal to raise and lower the rack is very easy. The only thing bringing it down to a good is that the rack appears to be a bit loose in the hitch (we have the 1.25 inch hitch). I may have to rig something up to keep it a little tighter. It's not horrible, but gives me some concern about taking bikes on a longer trip. 224722

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

Bought the Transfer 2 for more secure transport of a pair of lovely step-through frame bicycles. The assembly process was straightforward and event-free, thanks to unusually clear step-by-step instructions and a well-designed product. All of the necessary tools were included in the package. We've done one 5-hour trip so far and the bikes were stable and very happy on the rack while doing 75+ mph on the highway, also when crossing train tracks. The rack's back-tilt feature makes it easy to put the hatchback up for rear access. Getting the bikes on and off the rack is similarly a snap. Could not be happier so far. BTW, got the locks as well; that did NOT come with instructions although a video walk-through is available on the eTrailer site. 548182

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

I absolutely love this bike rack, and use it every day that the weather permits. While I usually leave it on my car, it is quite easy to remove and put back on. I have no problems lowering it to access the back hatch of my car. As a very petite woman, I was worried it would be too big or heavy to maneuver. But I have no problems getting it off or on. I can put my bike on it and have the bike secured in just seconds. Sometimes I pull up at the trailhead at the same time as other people. I am always the first one done with getting the bike loaded up. I usually ride alone, but when riding with a friend, it has been easy to load two bikes, and they both stay securely in their place, with no rubbing or scratching. I also had no problems putting it together by myself. It is perhaps the first item I’ve ever assembled that had the instructions written in correct and easy to understand English. I also want to say that the company has excellent customer service. I had called them with questions before purchasing, and they got back to me very promptly and answered all my questions. They also followed up with me one year later to check on how I liked their product. I consider them to be a first class company to do business with. 565424

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

Fits all all 9 bikes I own, skinny - fat tire. Bikes held secure on 5000 mile road trip. U-shape frame makes it convenient and ergonomic to load bikes. Tire cradles adjust so no interference of seats and bars between bikes. For additional safety (3 bikes obscure car tail lights a bit) I added red Bike reflectors on ends of frame, red reflective tape to hold-down bars and rigged a hitch receiver brake light to the rack center. I purchased the Kuat cable locks and hitch lock. Cables are 2 - 3” too short to lock frame of some of my bikes. Cable length design is limited by the length of the hold-down bars. Cable locks require key turn to lock, cable ends won’t just push in. Hitch lock came without dust cover so Arizona sand and Wisconsin winter salt get in the lock. Also bought a Swagman cable to lock all bikes to the hitch pin / lock. 483618

Sturdy and secure rack for 3 bikes. Easy to load and unload, but heavy to attach to the truck. Holds 3 bikes but two or three may block tail lights of vehicle so you may need auxiliary lighting like this (https://www.etrailer.com/Tow-Bar-Wiring/Optronics/TL21RK.html). Also I put reflective tape onto the rack itself for increased visibility. 599021

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

I purchased the Kuat transfer 2 bike rack for the ease of loading/unloading for my wife as we wanted a wheel mount rack. I put it together and loaded bikes up and took a test run around the neighborhood. The bikes were very stable and I believe the rack will be good for traveling. We also bought the cable lock and hitch lock kit. I wish the locking cable was long enough to go through the front wheel as well as the frame as it has the length to just go around the frame. Chedi J at etrailer was very helpful with our selection. 555242

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

Got this product within 10 days of ordering, and etrailer was very communicative about when the product would arrive. I assembled it with only a slight amount of trouble. My only issues were 1- putting on the wheel well involves a bolt with an insert that says "up" on it with an arrow; the insert is supposed to fit into a slot on the wheel well, and will only do so if things are lined up correctly, so I had to figure out that the part on the wheel well that surrounds the actual metal rack ROTATES inside the part of the wheel well that actually holds the wheel. This enables the insert with "up" to fit into the slot. Confusing, but pretty simple once I figured it out. 2- My hitch is 1 1/4" and you have to take off the factory installed 2" adapter by unscrewing a bolt. The bolt was harder to take off than I was expecting, but finally got it! The rack comes with all the tools to install - no need to have a complete tool box or anything. Make sure to follow all the instructions carefully - there are a couple details that you could miss that would make installation a little difficult. For example - make sure you're not installing things upside down, make sure everything is facing the same way as in the manual (that's not just for aesthetics!) When putting your rack into the hitch, having two people might make it a little easier. I had a small bit of trouble adjusting it so the hole for the bolt lined up between the two parts (I got it, but another person would have made it a little less frustrating). My 29" small Anthem fits perfectly! I might leave another review in a few months after I've really used this thing, but so far I'm excited 488648

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

This rack works awesome for 2 bikes! It was a bit of a challenge on assembly but my husband stated the pictures in the directions were very helpful. Once assembled it is super easy to use, lightweight, folds for storage and he had 2 bikes loaded in 5 minutes! We would highly recommend this product and feel it’s well worth the price. 499536

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

What do I like about it? - Really easy to mount your bike on it. Much better than scratching your car with hooks and cables like other hitches. - Easy to install. - As long as you keep the screws tight, the rack is really steady (the rack was very steady carrying two 30lb mountain bikes). - Can carry a variety of tire sizes (I have a road bike and a mountain bike) What don't I like about it? - It wasn't easy putting on the lock at the base of the hitch. Whether it's my car or where I installed the hitch, I'm not sure, but it got ugly :) - It's big, and when folded it's visible in my rear view mirror. Again, it's related to where I installed my hitch but I can still see everything and it's not a safety issue. - It doesn't have light deflectors, which I added on my own. I would imagine that anything sticking out from the car profile should have some sort of a alarming signs. One thing, which is probably my fault since I did not read the instructions, when I first removed my mountain bike from the rack instead of releasing the back strap first, I released the front arm which caused the bike to tilt over and hit my back windshield. Big mistake on my part. Nothing serious happened, just a small scratch, but from that moment on I release the back strap FIRST and then the front arm. Sound trivial now, just don't be like me... 296488

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

I bought the Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Platform Rack a year ago and have no complaints. I love the way that it can move down to allow access to my car with the bikes on and how it can be moved up for when there are no bikes on it. It is super simple to use and seems quite durable. 566629

It looks like a very strong and sturdy rack, but it's too heavy. I consider myself pretty strong. But to put this on my car myself is very difficult. I'm considering looking for another one and returning this one. 264355

Easy to put together. Much better directions than Thule. My 600 mile trip is in two weeks so we'll see how secure the rack is on my trip. 555408

Review from a similar Kuat Transfer in Hitch Bike Racks

Very satisfied. Assembly went pretty well, not super smooth or quick, but do theses kinds of things ever? I had to ream out a couple of holes with a drill bit because they weren't aligned properly. If memory serves me correctly, it was were the lock cap at the top of the arms. It won't be major if you have any amount of tool experience. We traveled from central Illinois to the Upper Peninsula, MI, then to central OH, back into Michigan a bit and then home to central IL. At least one road in the UP was back woods rough; it fed the logging areas, to give an idea. Both bikes rode like contented babies the entire trip. Very easy to get them on and off the rack. And I like how the rack pivots down for access to the hatch, and up to get out of the way when bikes aren't on it. 445354

Do you have a question about this Hitch Bike Rack?

  • Is Bike Add On for Kuat Transfer Single Bike Designed for Easy On/Off Application
  • The install of the Kuat Add On for Transfer Bike Rack part # TSAOB on a single bike Kuat Transfer # TS01B isn't difficult at all but since it requires the use of the two included Allen wrenches I wouldn't describe it as something that's designed to be taken on and off all the time. You'd most likely install it and leave it on for while if not permanently.

  • Recommended Single Bike Platform Rack for Bike with Full Fenders
  • The Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack # TS01B will allow you to carry a bike with fenders if they are mounted in a way that will allow the clamping force needed to secure the bike without damage to the fender. With plastic fenders I don't recommend using that bike rack as it could deform your fender. For your RadCity Commuter bike, I recommend the Rola Convoy 1 Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" Hitches # 59307 or if you have a 2 inch hitch receiver # 59308. This will allow you to secure...

  • Recommended Bike Rack for Electra Townie with Step Through Frame and Fenders
  • The Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack # TS01B that you referenced is an excellent carrier but I don't recommend it for your Electra Townie because of the fenders that you mentioned. The Kuat Transfer will need to clamp down right where that front fender is which would likely lead to a unsecure connection or maybe even damage to the fender. All of the 1-bike racks we have available feature a wheel mount design that would run into the same issue so your best option is going to be with...

  • Fat Bike Rack Recommendation that Can Fit Tires that are 4.8 inches Wide
  • We have fat bike racks that will work great for your bike that has tires that are 4.8 inches wide but even with the Phat tire adapter part # APBK the Kuat Transfer part # TS01B can only accommodate up to a 4.5 inch wide tire. For a similar platform bike rack that only touches the bikes at the tires and can fit up to a 5 inch wide tire we have the Thule T2 Pro XTB part # TH9034XT for if you have a 2 inch hitch or the part # TH9035XTS for a 1-1/4 inch hitch.

  • Will Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack Interfere with Backup Camera on a 2014 Ford Escape
  • The Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack # TS01B is one of the possible bike racks that will give you the least amount of interference with the backup camera on your 2014 Ford Escape. The other option is the Inno Tire Hold # INH110. The bottom of the arm on the Transfer sits about 18" from the top of the receiver while the same measurement for the top of the arm is 19-3/4". The tray for the Tire Hold is about 14-1/2" from the top of the receiver while the top of the handle is 18". Since...

  • Will Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Rack Obstruct View of Backup Camera
  • The Kuat Single Transfer part # TS01B would slightly obstruct the view of the backup camera of your 2018 Chevy Volt but for the most part you'd be looking over the top of your bike if it was loaded and through the frame and you'd still be able to see behind you. If the rack wasn't loaded with a bike you'd basically have a totally unobstructed view.

  • Bike Rack Needed to Clear Tailgate on Short Bed Pickup
  • For your situation I believe that the Kuat Transfer 1 # TS01B is going to be your best bet because when I pulled the Thule T1 # TH9041 from the warehouse I found that from the center of the hitch pin hole to the middle of the wheel tray is about 22-1/4" (see attached photo). Since the T1 doesn't have a tilting feature it is more likely that your handlebar may interact with your tailgate but you can test it out on your end by holding your bike in this general area. • The Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack for Fat Bike - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # TS01B-FB is designed to be compatible with fat bike tires up to 4-1/2 inches wide but it will even work with the skinny road bike tires. If you don't have a fat bike, you may want to use the similar # TS01B and then purchase the longer straps at a different time. The only difference between the standard rack and the Fat Bike rack is the length of the strap # APBK, so the cradles and straps will...

  • Will Kuat Transfer 1 Fit on 2012 Toyota RAV4 with Draw Tite Hitch Installed
  • When we installed the Draw Tite hitch part # 75235 on a 2012 Toyota RAV4 just like yours we found that from the center of it's hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out on the rear spare measures 8 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole of the Kuat Transfer part # TS01B to the nearest portion of the bike rack measures 7-1/2 inches, but the center of the wheel cradles is several inches past that which means you'd have plenty of room for the rack and a bike loaded onto it.

  • Kuat Transfer 1 or Sherpa 2.0 For Transporting 1 Bike and Storing in Apartment
  • For your application I really like the Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Rack # TS01B because of its versatility and ease of transport. As you mentioned the Kuat Transfer can be expanded to carry 2 bikes using the 1 Bike Add On # TSAOB down the line if needed but in the meantime the 1 bike design is just going to give you a lighter and smaller rack to carry around and up/down an elevator. • Can the Thule Raceway PRO Be Used for One 40 Lb Bike on a 2016 Audi A6
  • I do have an option for you but all trunk mounted bike racks like the Thule Raceway PRO 2-Bike Platform Rack part # TH9003PRO have a 35 lb per bike weight capacity. The cradles for each bike are only rated for 35 lbs so I cannot recommend you use it with a 40 lb bike. If you cannot get the weight of your bike down to 35 lbs then your best option would be to place it on a hitch mounted bike rack, the Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack part # TS01B with a trailer hitch, the Curt Trailer...

  • How To Lock the Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack
  • In order to add locks to the Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack part # TS01B the best option is to use the Cable Lock and Hitch Lock for Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Rack part # ATSCLK11011 as this gives you both a lock for the bike rack and the bike which uses the same key. • Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Rack Compatibility with Trek Pure Sport
  • The # TS01B Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack is a tire mount rack that fits a variety of bike frame styles. Then compare that to the 47 inch maximum for this rack. We can recommend other options should you find the wheelbase of your Pure Sport is too large for the Kuat Transfer 1. It's worth noting an additional bike add on capability...
