Video Transcript for Gen-Y Hitch Hitch Anti-Rattle - Standard Anti-Rattle - 325-GH-033 Review

Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at the Gey Y Anti-Rattle Clamp for 2" Hitch Receivers. Now, this anti-rattle device keeps a hitch mounted accessory from making noise when it's installed in your hitch. It deters rattle and sway from within the hitch receiver. It is designed to work with ball mounts, tow bars, and hitch mount accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers. It's a really fast and easy installation. All you have to do is slip the clamp over the shank of the access, and then insert it into the hitch on your vehicle. As you insert it, you wanna make sure this wedge piece goes into the hitch.

That's gonna take out that slack between your accessory and the actual hitch itself.Once you have it installed, you take the included tool and you tighten the corners of the clamp, which are just these little hex set screws. And as you tighten the corners of the clamp, it prohibits movement from within the receiver. It's made from a durable steel construction. It has a nice powder-coated finish on it to resist rust and corrosion. And it is designed for 2"x2" trailer hitch receivers, and the product is made in the USA.That's gonna do it for today's look at the Gen Y Anti-Rattle Clamp for 2" Hitches.

This product was useful to eliminate clunking between the hitch shank and the receiver. It is essentially an adjustable wedge between the shank and receiver, but I did find that it was not sufficient to simply slip it on and tighten the set screws. A few gentle whacks with a rubber hammer to coax it into the gap before tightening the screws and it worked perfectly. There was a confusing array of products to accomplish this and some were quite pricey. I chose this one because it was simple and inexpensive. It does the job. Finally, kudos on etrailer's prices, selection, delivery time and customer support. A great company to deal with. 651061

Have approached several RV an Tow experts for a solution to a car/motorcycle tow combination for months. Came across Etrailer on the Internet, and “asked their expert” for a suggestion. They suggested a heavy duty dual receiver that was substantial enough to accommodate any tow combination requirements. Their advice was “dead-on” right, and I ordered the parts and they were delivered a few days later. Their expertise is excellent, as is the ease of doing business with them. I can enthusiastically recommend this organization, and the professionals working with them! 782275

Product was very effective at eliminating "clunking" due to slop between my receiver and hitch. One hint I found effective was to firmly seat the clamp with a hammer and drift. My only knock against this product was the finishing was a bit rough (sharp/rough edges on some corners), but this did not effect function in any way. 682116

This little item solved a big problem. This has stopped the rattle in my hitch. it does fit extremely tight and because my hitch is short it barely fits between the gap of the ball holder and the hitch. It does stay on permanently which is nice but I do have to carry a rubber hammer to get it in and out of the receiver to allow the locking pin to go in and out. Its totally worth it. I now have the multi pro lift gate so the hitch must come out when I finish pulling my boat. the trailer is silent now when I start and stop, instead of the jarring rattle that was the norm. 662846

This inexpensive accessory is the greatest thing for SUV's that doesn't have a solid frame like a pickup, the noise reduction from ball mount chatter in the reciever is reduced to zero 825267

Tried this out to stop the rattle of the hitch over bumps. Did not really fit well with the hitch/receiver, had to hammer it in with rubber mallet and it still stuck out from the reciever about 75%. Worked ok to stop the rattle, but looked ridiculous. Then if you towed anything it would always come loose making the hitch rattle even more as it spun on the hitch. Took it off and tried to return it but was unable to because 'it had been used'. I would not recommend this product. 817830

  • Recommendation to Take Out Play in Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System
We do have a variety of anti-rattle devices that you can use with the Blue Ox SwayPro weight distribution. I recommend using the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp # 325-GH-033 because it uses a wedge to take up the slack as opposed to clamping the shank against the receiver. I reached out to my contact at Gen-Y who said that this is an excellent option for weight distribution systems. For a hitch pin that is an upgrade to the pin and clip that comes with the SwayPro I recommend the Locking Hitch...

  • Does Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp Work With 2 Inch Trailer Hitch on Ford F-150
The Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp for 2" Hitch Receivers # 325-GH-033 is actually designed to fit over the shank of a ball mount or accessory that fits into a 2 inch trailer hitch like the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch # E98871 that fits certain model year Ford F-150's and F-150 Raptors. So the short answer is yes, the clamp will absolutely work with the hitch but it does not go around the lip, it will actually go into the receiver and then you'll tighten it. If you take a look at the linked...

  • Can a Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin Be Used with a Ball Mount
An anti rattle hitch pin will work for both hitch mounted accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers in addition to a ball mount with a hollow shank. However, most ball mounts have a solid shank and most anti rattle hitch pins used for bike racks are specific to that rack which is also the case for the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Bolt part 25056 which only works with Softride hitch-mounted bike racks and cargo carriers. A better option for a ball mount with a solid shank is a sleeve...

  • How to Prevent Hitch Pin Hole Deformity
It is not extremely uncommon for the hitch pin hole on a trailer hitch receiver to become oblong after frequent usage. This is usually attributed to frequent back and forth movement of the shank inside the receiver tube opening that in time will deform the hitch pin hole. A good way to prevent or reduce this would be to use an anti-rattle device like part # 325-GH-033. Since the hitch pin hole on your existing trailer hitch has become deformed then I do recommend replacement as the problem...

For that kind of stabilization you are seeking, I recommend the Blue Ox Hitch Receiver Immobilizer II - 2" Hitches # BX88224 which will give you stability and support both vertically and horizontally. This is what I'd want to use for my motorcycle. If you want something a little more subtle that will also help stabilize...

That said, even if it were to fit it would likely not reduce wobble any more than the threaded hitch pin included with the bike rack. Instead, I recommend the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp part # 325-GH-033 for 2" or part # 325-GH-013 for 1-1/4" as these will reduce wobble (inside the shank) and they also make...

  • Is it Okay for Ball Mount to Move in Trailer Hitch Receiver Some
What you are describing is actually pretty normal for a ball mount. There is almost always some tolerance between the trailer hitch receiver and the ball mount (or accessory) being installed which is why there are a variety of anti-rattle devices out there. Some accessories and ball mounts come with them built-in but if you have a standard ball mount there are aftermarket anti-rattle devices you can use.
