Excellent quality product, but will not fit my 2016 Subaru Forester OEM trailer hitch. Insufficient room between hitch and receiver for the collar. 592527

Comments

There needs to be at least 1-1/4 inches of depth before the pin hole inside the hitch receiver for the anti-rattle to properly fit.

It doesn’t really work. Not sure if the issue with my my hitch or my bike rack. It still sways a lot. But slightly better than before. 718065

I pull a small trailer with long tongue so little tongue weight to hold the hitch ball down. Even with fairly close fit the ball/carrier has room to move vertically in the receiver. On all but the smoothest roads more or less continuously several time per seconds. Metal on metal sound comes right through the car frame. Product jams the carrier and receiver tight for zero rattle, Set screws are adequately large. Has the advantage of not requiring a lip on the receiver tube. Color and size make it inconspicuous compared to some other options. Note the wedges do not fit all the way into the gap. In fact it does not go in very far at all, as the installed pictures show. Doesn't matter since the forces on the wedges are compression only. no tension, shear, bending. There are no instructions provided on the etrailer web site, other than video. The etrailer video does not show installation, not even loose, as the etrailer videos usually do. Thus one point is omitted that some other reviews may have missed. You have to drive it in with a hammer. This is a wedge to force a tight fit. Wedges by definition have to be driven. It was indeed tight to get the edges into the gap to start, but get them in at all, then you can drive it in further. Hit on the corner between the two sides of the wedge. 714454

Our installer Colin walks through the three sizes of the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp and covers installation in the video I have attached. Installation begins around the 3:06 mark. He is able to install the wedge sufficiently without the use of a hammer or mallet. If installing the wedge by hand doesnt take out the wobble, using a hammer or mallet to help seat the anti-rattle wedge is a great idea.

Awesome product works very well. No more rattling. 706448

The tapered section that is supposed to fit between the ball mount and inside the hitch is to large and will not go in at all. Unless your hitch and ball mount have a huge amount of slack it doesn't work. I wanted it to work so I tried to grind down the metal but it still didn't work. Also, the taper tends to serve as a ramp to move the clamp out rendering it useless. If the gap on your hitch is 1/8 to 1/4 inch in width it might work. 700335

As with any correction product, the variables are numerous. The product is well made, and probably works for applications with greater slop in the hitch/receiver contact. My situation was fairly snug, but any wiggle becomes greater the further away from the axis you get. So all in all, it’s a good product, and works under certain conditions. So 3 stars for my experience, 5 in general. 663934

Do you have a question about this Hitch Anti-Rattle?

  • Anti-rattle Device for 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch Recessed Inside of Bumper
  • You could use Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061-125 upside down but I don't think it is going to fit based on your pictures. What I recommend is the Gen-Y anti-rattle device # 325-GH-013. This device will actually stay on the accessory and is held there with 2 set screws. And an added benefit is that because it stays on the accessory shank the pin holes will line up every time you insert the accessory into the hitch!

  • Recommended Bike Rack Stabilizer for Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Rack in Hitch of 2017 Hyundai Elantra
  • I was able to look up your order number and it sounds like you are seeing more movement than you like in the vertical movement of the Kuat Transfer 2 # TS02B in your Draw Tite # 24939 hitch receiver. Because the pin is securing it to the sides, you may simply need to tighten that bolt a little more to also stabilize the vertical movement. If you have already tried that and are still left desiring more stability then I recommend adding an anti-wobble like the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp for...

  • How To Help Further Stabilize the Inno Tire Hold 1 Bike Platform Rack During Transport
  • Yes, in order to make the Inno Tire Hold 1 Bike Platform Rack part # INH110 more secure during transport with your 2005 Subaru Impreza you have two options. The first option is a wedge, the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp for 1-1/4" Hitch Receivers part # 325-GH-013 which helps take up the extra space inside the receiver tube opening thereby reducing movement. This device is also nice in that it helps you align the hitch pin hole each time. The other option you have is a support strap, the Curt...

  • Replacement Aluminum Hitch Adapter Sleeve # SA3032 is not a confirmed fit for any Thule racks but there are other options. First, if you know which Thule bike rack model you have I can check to see if there is an alternate shank for it to replace the 1-1/4 inch one that is on the rack. If you are not sure which Thule bike rack you have or if there isn't a 2 inch shank for it then I recommend using a reducer sleeve, # HT02. This will only slightly increase the distance the bike rack...

  • How To Reduce Wobble On the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack
  • I do have an option for you but I cannot confirm the SilentACT Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Accessories Lock part # SHP2082 will work with the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack like part # Y02443. That said, even if it were to fit it would likely not reduce wobble any more than the threaded hitch pin included with the bike rack. Instead, I recommend the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp part # 325-GH-033 for 2" or part # 325-GH-013 for 1-1/4" as these will reduce wobble (inside the shank) and they also make...

  • The Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack part # S64670 comes with a threaded hitch pin which will help to reduce rattle/wobble but if you need even further reduction then you will want to consider using a sleeve type anti-rattle device like the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp part # 325-GH-013 for 1-1/4" receivers or part # 325-GH-033 for 2" receivers. • How To Reduce Rattle When Using a 2 Inch to 1-1/4 Inch Reducer with Bike Rack
  • I do have an option for you but all of the reducer sleeves like the Brophy Hitch Reducer part # HT02 are going to be problematic in regards to excess slop at the connection point. However, what you can do to avoid this is use an anti-rattle device. The best anti-rattle device we have is the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp which provides pressure on all side of the stinger for a secure fit and it even acts as a way to help line up the hitch pin hole each time. For the sleeve you can use part # 325-GH-033...
