We have been purchasing parts from etrailer for years and have always had nothing short of great customer service and have no plans to do anything different. Keep up the great service

With each order, it was shipped quickly and efficiently! I ordered one part wrong, return was easy and the part I needed was shipped quickly. Highly recommend for all of your needs.

I had to file some weld slug on 2 inch receiver. No big deal, but I had to touch up the paint.

Exactly what I needed! Thanks.

Good product. Would be nice if it came with the 1/2 pin.

Haven't used it yet but assume it will do the job. Need it to install 2" receiver hitch bike rack on my Subaru which only has the 1.25" receiver.

Does the job as advertised. Happy with this purchase.

Works well for my bike rack on a small car. My bike rack is made for the 2" receiver on my RV. This way, I only have to have one bike rack that works for 2 vehicles

Did not fit. Had to return it. Great customer service.

Perfect fit for the car. knows their stuff and never disappoints. They also recommend the associated pins for this converter and both worked exactly as expected. I have purchased every hitch, component, part, converter, etc. from them since about 2005 and used their site as an invaluable reference for installation. They never fail. Love this site.

Ordered a hitch for my mazda3. I already had a hitch mount bike rack I was using on another vehicle but needed an adapter to use in the new rack. Ordered the rack and adapter. Within an hour I get an email and phone call from Michelle saying I ordered an adapter that would not work with the hitch I got. She said she would correct the order and get the correct parts out immediately. Within a few days I had the hitch and correct adapter delivered to my house. Customer service like this is second to none. Can’t believe how in tune they are at going beyond what you would expect from an online company. A++++ all around. Highly recommend

The product is well made and fit was good. The looseness of the fit was good to fit different types of locking pins but not too loose to make a loud rattling noise.

Over the years I have been very happy withmy purchases from etrailer in general. This little adapter is another good purchase. I bought this one over the other offered because the finish is better. I believe the quality welding and smooth finish will help keep the corrosion at bay for a bit longer and it looks nicer. I appreciate putting forth the effort to provide good pictures for comparison and to ensure the overall dimensions are going to work.

What I need to make the conversion to my new Kuat bike rack

We received our hitch very quickly. Unfortunately it didn't fit. We've been going thru trying to get a return sticker since last Tuesday...and this is Saturday. We've called them 6 times. The last 3 were not returned.
We are not happy campers.

Great prices, very thorough, fast shipping helpful customer service to straighten one issue out I'll buy from eTrailer again

Excellent tool for conversion. It also adds clearance between the end of the receiver and my bumper, a requirement for my car and bike rack.

HO HUM part. Nothing exciting to say
about an adapter.Work exactly as advertised. Nice black shiny color. BAM"Black Adapters Matter"!

Good product line.
Bought trailer hitch,
etc. A few years ago.
Traded cars. Bought more stuff recently.
Complete product line.
Good website.
Instant service.

All of the items I ordered were received very quickly and in great shape. Love dealing with eTrailer; thank you folks!

Pleased with quality. Easy website to use and order. Will be back.

Fit perfectly to allow me to carry my bicycle rack.

Product was fairly easy to put on my Honda Civic and works perfectly for what I bought it for which is to haul mountain bikes.

Appeared solid with complete paint coverage and fits the receiver hitch snugly.

I bought this in case I wanted a hitch attachment that needed the 2" receiver. It is a sturdy piece which should be very reliable.

Thank you so much for getting my delivery expedited and the product to me in a quick fashion really appreciate it thank you all

  • How To Tell What Class Hitch I Have on My Toyota Matrix
There are a few ways to tell if you have a Class I hitch. Your hitch should have a sticker with the weight ratings, that indicate if it is a Class I hitch. A Class I hitch will have a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. The other way to tell is, on a Class I hitch, there will be a small dent or punch in the receiver behind the hitch pin hole. If your hitch has this punch, it is a Class I hitch. The reason the punch is there, is to prevent customers...

  • Can a 1-1/4 Inch to 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter be Used on an ATV Hitch for a Winch
Physically, yes, you can use a 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch adapter, like # 80303, in your ATV receiver. But, there are a couple of things you will need to be aware of. First, you will need to check to make sure that the receiver on the ATV has at least 2 inches of space from the center of the hitch pin hole back away from the receiver opening. If it has a closed back or something in the way and the obstruction is less than 2 inches from the hitch pin hole center, this adapter will not fit. Second,...

  • Is Hitch Adapter 80303 Designed For Towing
The Hitch Adapter part # 80303 that you referenced is an adapter designed for hitch accessories like bike racks that happen to have 2 inch shanks but it is not to be used for towing. It really wouldn't be needed for towing either as all you would need is the right size ball mount. People generally don't try to convert hitch sizes for their favorite ball mount like they do bike racks.

  • How Can I Use My 2 Inch Bike Rack with my 1-1/4 Inch Hitch
We offer adapters so you can use the 2 inch bike rack with the 1 1/4 inch receiver hitch. The appropriate adapter for your hitch depends on what class it is. You can use part # HTAD if your hitch is a Class I or Class II and part # 80303 will only fit Class II. Please note, using either of these adapters will reduce your tongue weight capacity by 50 percent. If you have a Class I hitch with a 200 pound tongue weight capacity, using this adapter you will only be able to put 100 pounds of...

  • Use of Any Adapter Does Decrease the Hitch Tongue Weight Capacity by Half
You are experiencing a common dilemma. The use of any adapter does decrease the hitch tongue weight capacity by 50%. If your MKX Class II hitch offers a 350 lbs tongue weight capacity then with an adapter the bikes and rack combined cannot exceed 175 lbs. For most applications this would be sufficient but not knowing your bikes and how much they weight I cannot tell you for certain if this will work.Should you decide to go with an adapter we would recommend an anti rattle lock to secure...

  • Why Class II Items Do Not Fit in Class I Receivers and Extenders Reduce Tongue Weight Capacity
The Hitch Adapter 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver (Class II Only), item # 80303, will not slide into a Class I receiver far enough for the hitch pin hole to line up with the hitch pin hole in the Class I hitch. The Class I hitch is designed with a stop so that Class II accessories, that could potentially overload the hitch or vehicle capacity, cannot be used. An adapter that is designed so that it extends the items added to the receiver farther away from the hitch , like a...

  • Can 2 inch to 1-1/4 inch Hitch Adapter be Used to Carry 4 Bike Rack
The 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch adapter part # 80303 that you referenced could potentially work for you but adapters like this end up cutting the capacity of the hitch they are installed in by 50 percent so you'd have to add up the weight of your bikes and rack and determine if you'd have the needed capacity.

  • Can I Use A Weight Distribution Hitch Or An Adapter With A Class II Trailer Hitch
Class II trailer hitches are not manufactured for weight distribution. Due to this, there are not any weight distribution hitch manufacturers designing systems for Class II trailer hitches. The addition of a hitch adapter does not change this fact. You only have two options in this scenario. If possible, you can replace your Class II trailer hitch with a Class III trailer hitch. The second option is to reduce the tongue weight on your trailer. You can shift the load of your trailer rearward...

  • Can A Class II Hitch be used with an Adapter to Transport a 477 Pound Motorcycle
Using the Hidden Hitch 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch Adapter # 80303 would reduce the tongue weight that you hitch is currently capable of by 50 percent. This would not be recommended. For example if your existing hitch had a tongue weight capacity of up to 350 pounds, then using this adapter would reduce the tongue weight to 175 pounds. It is unlikely that the capacity of your Class II hitch, even using the correct hitch shank, would not have the capacity to support 477 pounds of tongue weight...

The Hitch Adapter 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch Trailer Hitch, item # 80303, has a longer shank on it so that it can not be installed in a lower capacity Class I hitch. Class I hitches have a stop inside the receiver to keep higher capacity Class II accessories from being installed in them, so they are not overloaded. • How to Determine the Hitch Class Size on a 2004 Subaru Forester for use with a Hitch Adapter
The easiest way to determine if you have a Class I or Class II OEM hitch, would be to contact a Subaru dealer or check your owners manual. There are bike rack solutions for your 2003 Toyota Avalon but a bike rack with a 2 inch shank will not fit. In order to use a trailer hitch mounted bike rack with a 2 inch shank, you need a trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver. However, first I must warn you that the use of an adapter reduces the trailer hitch tongue weight by 50 percent.
