Video Transcript for Hidden Hitch Hitch Accessories PC3 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Hidden Hitch Pin and Clip, number PC3. This pin and clip set works with the Class 3, 4, and 5 trailer hitch receivers. It fits a 2-inch receiver and a 2 -inch receiver. It has a 5/8-inch diameter pin. It is 5 1/8-inch in length from here to here as you can see that right there, and it does include this retainer clip that would just, this groove right here you would put that clip on like that. To give you a better idea of how that works we'll bring out our receiver hitch demonstrator, and one of our receiver covers.

You would just put that in like so, and then just slide that through, clip that off and you're good to go. That should just about do it for our Hidden Hitch Pin and Clip set, number PC3.

I installed the hitch plate, it was real easy. Took me longer find a wrench, than it did to install the hitch plate. I'm thrilled with the quality of the plate and how easy it was to deal. 32267

Quality Products & Quality Service This is my second time ordering from etrailer.com. I am so pleased with the selection, pricing, and customer service, that I will look here first before ordering products elsewhere. I have not yet tested the process of adding the Thule ski carrier to my Thule bike rack (our snow melted but is forecasted to return this week); however, I foresee no issues. I love the Thule rack and the ski carrier appears to be of similar quality. The hitch receiver cover was of even greater quality than expected, and a huge hit. As confirmed with etrailer.com customer service before ordering, the pin/clip were exactly what was needed to secure the cover. The order shipped out earlier than expected and because it was close to the holidays, the shipping speed was upgraded at no cost. All in all, a terrific experience with etrailer.com. I should close by saying that I do not regularly submit product/business reviews, but feel compelled to do this one because of the wonderful service and quality products. Happy holidays! J 4137

Extremely poor design. Do NOT purchase this junk! Go to a hardware store and get a real one. This pin has no hole for a cotter pin. The weak spring clip is unreliable at best. I would not take a chance on a clip design like this. 108039

Comments

I do not use this pin. Instead, I use a pin with a cotter pin hole in it.

This is actually the second one of these I've installed. I helped a friend put one on his 06 Outback and it was really easy. So when I needed one for my 05 Outback I knew where to buy one. Super-simple installation and looks good too. 372752

To Whom it May Concern: I highly recommend etrailer.com com. I ordered a trailer hitch and bike rack by phone. The sales agent was professional, competent, helpful and friendly. The prices of the products are fair and the delivery was timely and arrived in good condition. It is rare to have a purchase experience of the level of high quality that I experienced with etrailer.com. I am highly recommending this company to others, based on my first experience with them, and I would not hesitate to purchase from them again. 4 stars out of 4. Thank you. After installing this product to my hitch cover to keep it in place I drove 1 1/2 hours on the highway to visit family. When I got to my destination I checked my new hitch cover to make sure everything was ok and saw that the cotterpin had jostled itself loose and the pin itself almost fell out too. If this had happened I would have lost the hitch cover too. When I insatlled the cotterpin and the pin everything was tightened securley, I don't know how the cotterpin came loose since I was only driving on the highway. This is a very poor product and recommend not purchasing this item. 101936

Got the hitch in 2 days and installed it myself in about 15 minutes. Holes lined up perfectly. I slid a jack stand under each side to hold it up until I could get the bolts in. Everything went better than expected. Wow. Thanks for a great hitch that looks great! 52050

The hitch was the correct one for the car, and the cable harness and receiver was correct also. Delivery was extremely fast: ordered on Wednesday, delivered on Friday. All necessary parts were included, including instructions for torquing down the bolts. I installed the hitch, 'without a hitch' on Saturday. It took about an hour, since I don't have any air tools. All in all, I am very satisfied, and would recommend your company. Thank you. 206208

Purchased Hidden Hitch Class 3, 2" hitch for my 2007 Honda CRV along with wiring harness and ball mount. Not the handiest person in the world but after installing this hitch, my handy-ego has been inflated. The videos on the website are spot on and are a huge resource for installation. Support during the sale and after were much appreciated. This is one of my top five e-commerce experiences. Well done etrailer.com! 94528

When you Google "customer service" etrailer has to be first in line! They care and they want it right! In addition, my new hitch sleeve insert/cover is the highest quality I have seen. etrailer is a very great company to deal with. The video's they supply step by step on how to put the hitch on your own vehicle are very helpful. Plus the video uses your own model vehicle & year model. The price was very fair. I would recommend this company to anyone needing a hitch. 396311

This pin works well. Only downside is the retainer clip just goes over the pin. I would prefer the retainer clip goes through a hole in the middle of the pin but the way this one is made should work. Just seems more secure on the types of pins where the clip goes through the pin. 161650

by: Mike J10/01/2016

One of those gotta have things when you are towing. The reduced retainer spring clip groove diameter makes it much easier to install and remove the spring clip than those with a through hole. Show little/no wear after a couple of cross country trips and misc. local tows. 302212

by: Nate06/25/2012

Did not realize pin did not have hole for cotter pin to go through. Would not have purchased if I had known this, i don't trust this set up at all for a trailer. Might be good only to hold a hitch cover in place. Due to price of shipping and pin its not worth returning, 45631

- PC3

by: Zach R.11/20/2011

This pin is very heavy duty. The only downside about it, and this is a personal preference and has nothing to do with the quality of the pin, was the key just slips into the groove and not through the pin. I pulled a trailer from California to Georgia without a hitch. 27195

by: Paul H.01/24/2012

The hitch cover leaves a gap between the receiver and the cover whic would allow dirt to enter and will rattle. I needed one more foam spacer to correct this problem, or the pin hole needs to be in a different location so the cover will be tight against the receiver. 30240

by: Tony W.02/03/2013

It's a pin, it fits, it works. My only concern is that the clip MIGHT fall off of pin if it was inadvertently bumped....for this reason it might be better if the pin had a hole through which one threaded the clip.....much harder to lose the clip that way..... 64890

Very sturdy product, installed on 2017 John Deere gator 825i. The gator receiver is right at the rear axles. This product allowed me to move point of hookup all the way out to the bumper. Now everything can be hooked up without crawling underneath machine. 353903

Solid pin for heavy, 2" hitch. Buy if you don't have worries about theft. If used for an over-the-road application, get the locking variety. On our farm, we have a need for quick changes and with no theft, this pin is perfect! 58609

  • Will Hitch Extender # HE18 Allow Camper to be Towed with Tailgate Down
  • The Roadmaster High-Low Hitch Adapter, part # RM-048-2, is intended for leveling a tow-bar when flat towing a vehicle behind a motor home. It cannot be used to tow a camper. You might be able to use part # HE18, which is a hitch extender. This item adds 18 inches to the length of the receiver but also cuts in half its tongue weight capacity. • The B&W Tow and Stow ball mount # BWTS10049B will have some great features. You can stow the mounting platform that has the 3 hitch balls (1-7/8, 2, and 2-5/16 inch) underneath your vehicle. This is nice because you will eliminate the possibility of hitting your shins while working around your hitch. The adjustable height will allow you the ability to tow trailers of different heights. The maximum drop is 7-inches and maximum rise is 7-1/2 inches. They are adjusted in 1-inch increments. I...

  • Trailer Hitch Options for a 2012 Honda CR-V Towing a Small Trailer
  • We have had a chance to install the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C13119, on a 2012 Honda CR-V so I attached a link to the installation video for you to check out. I also attached a picture from the installation instructions for you to check out as well. You may also be interested in the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 75742. This hitch will have about the same visibility under the bumper as the Curt hitch, but the crossbar begins to recede under the vehicle beginning at the receiver....

  • Is There A Motorcycle Carrier Available That Will Fit a 1-1/4 Hitch On a 2005 Ford Explorer
  • To use the Rage PowerSport Motorcycle Carrier, part # AMC400, or any motorcycle carrier, you would need to install a Class III 2 inch hitch on your 2005 Ford Explorer. I would recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 75132, which has a tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs. The OEM or factory 1-1/4 inch hitch that is on your Ford Explorer does not have the capacity to support a motorcycle carrier and motorcycle. The Draw-Tite Hitch will install below your factory 1-1/4 hitch and will...

  • Trailer Hitch and Related Items Needed to Tow Pop-Up Camper with 2015 Toyota RAV4 EXL
  • Two sizes and classes of hitch are offered for your 2015 Toyota RAV4, a light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class II and a 2-inch Class III. Since you're going to be towing I strongly recommend the higher-capacity Class III type, such as the Draw-Tite # 75235 that you referenced. This hitch bolts on with no drilling, includes the hardware and fits all RAV4 models. I have linked an installation video showing your same model year RAV4, the written instructions and two helpful articles on hitch installation. Towing...

  • Recommended Hitch and Towing Accessories for 2012 Honda Odyssey
  • Due to the larger selection of available hitch mounted accessories like ball mounts, bike racks and cargo carriers, we always recommend choosing the Class III 2 inch receiver over the 1-1/4 inch Class II receiver whenever the choice is available. Because of this, I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Receiver, part # 75270. To complete your towing system, you will also need: Tow Ready Trailer Wiring Harness, part # 118521 Ball Mount, part # 2753 1-7/8 inch Trailer Ball, part...

  • What Size Hitch Pin Hole is on the Curt Class V Trailer hitch # C15318
  • The Curt Class V trailer hitch, # C15318, has a 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin hole. You can use pin # PC3. Or for a locking hitch pin I recommend # 7683. I have included a link to a video review for you.

  • Surco Cargo Carrier # 52018F vs. CURT Cargo Carrier # C18153
  • The first thing I would do to determine which fold-able cargo carrier would be the best for you would be to measure the distance from the center of the hitch pin on your vehicle out to the furthest point our of the rear bumper. This measurement will tell you which cargo carriers will be able to be folded up once installed on your hitch. The Curt Cargo Carrier # C18153 has a distance of 9 inches from the center of the hitch pin out to the nearest portion of the carrier when folded up....

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendations for 2000 Toyota Sienna
  • I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class III receiver, part # 75120. A Class III hitch uses the 2 inch receiver opening, versus the 1-1/4 inch opening used by the Class II. Having the more common Class III will allow you more flexibility in choosing hitch mounted accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers. According to my research, the 2000 Sienna has a 2000 lb towing capacity, or 3500 lbs if equipped with the tow package. If you do not know if the van has the tow package, you can call...

  • Will Pro Series Bike Rack 63123 Fit a 2016 Hyundai Tucson Eco All Wheel Drive
  • The Pro Series bike rack # 63123 is designed to work with 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" (Class II only) or 2" x 2" trailer hitches. If you do not have a hitch already you can use # 75836. If you do already have a hitch then as long as it is not a Class I hitch you can use the bike rack. It will easily clear the back of your 2016 Hyundai Tucson. I have linked a video review of the bike rack and a video showing an example installation of the hitch. The hitch pin and clip are sold separately. You can...

  • Can Fascia Door of 2011 GMC Terrain Be Reinstalled Once Hitch is Installed
  • All of the Class III receivers available for your 2012 Terrain are similar in the way they would sit in relation to the rear bumper of the vehicle. The primary difference between the Curt # 13591 and the Draw-Tite # 76028 is that the Draw-Tite model uses two additional connection points into the bottom of the frame member. Although both hitches share the same weight rating, having extra connection points to the vehicle frame is desirable. I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class III receiver,...

  • The 24x60 Cargo Carrier for 2 inch Trailer Hitch, item # 52018, is one of our best selling cargo carriers. It is very sturdy and made in the United States. We receive very few phone calls regarding this product. Also, the 24x60 Cargo Carrier has the option to use the Folding Basket Adapter, item # 52015. The pin and clip needed is, item # PC3, however, we always recommend that our customers lock their carriers to the receiver hitch. Anti-rattle locks are very helpful, especially with...

  • The Hidden Hitch Class III 2 Inch Hitch, part # 87438, and the DrawTite Class III 2 Inch Hitch, part # 75531, for the 2012 Mazda CX-9 are the same hitch. The manufacturer of both of these hitches is the same. I am including a link to the installation instructions that will show the part numbers for both of these hitches in the top right corner of the same instructions page. I am including a link to a page of the 5/8 inch hitch pins that I carry. The Class I 1-1/4 inch hitch receivers will use the 1/2 inch hitch pin like the Draw-Tite Pin and Clip, part # PC2. • What is the Purpose of a Trailer Hitch Ball, Trailer Hitch Pin, and a Clip and are All Necessary
  • A hitch ball and a hitch pin and clip each serve a different purpose. A hitch ball, like # 19247, attaches to the ball mount, like # 2923, using a large nut that threads on from the bottom, kind of like a nut and bolt. This ball is what the trailer coupler attaches to. The hitch pin goes through the ball mount and the trailer hitch and the clip keeps it from coming out while traveling. There are also locking hitch pins that use a lock and not a clip like # 7683. Basically, you will...

  • What is the Difference Between Max Carrying Capacity and Weight Distribution Capacity
  • Absolutely, I am here to help! The max carrying weight of a hitch is how much the hitch can pull if you were to just hook your trailer up to the hitch and not use a weight distribution system. The Gross Trailer Weight or GTW of this hitch is 5,000 lbs. and the Tongue Weight or TW of this hitch is 500 lbs. The GTW is how much weight the hitch can pull behind it and the tongue weight is the downward force that the tongue of the trailer applies to the hitch of the tow vehicle. So the hitch...
