Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. Stable lumens builds off the idea of effective lumens by measuring the amount of light produced after 30 minutes of usage, or once the diodes have reached their average operating temperature. These bulbs have a 3,000 raw lumen capacity per bulb and produce 1,995 effective lumens per bulb. The stable lumen capacity per bulb is 1,550 lumens.

Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a look at the 9004 style LED bulbs, this is the concept series. So these are meant to be used for city driving, or highway use. They're going to be a really great upgrade from your existing factory bulbs. So let's take a closer look at them and see what the features are. One of the main things is that it does have a nice integrated LED design, so this is going to help to throw the light further. It's got a precision optical design, so it helps to make a longer range of visibility and have no glare.
It also has an aluminum housing with an inaudible 00:00:44 cool thermal management system, so it helps prevent any kind of overheating and also helps to extend the life of the bulb so you don't have any premature failures.I'm going to hook this up to power just so you can see what it looks like whenever it's actually in use. Now, whenever you're putting this into your vehicle, you will not have to worry about using these alligator clamps, I'm just mocking this up in my studio here, but the nice thing about this is that it is a plug and play design so it's going to just plug right into your factory wiring in your vehicle so there's no cutting or splicing required, should be a pretty simple install. Really the hardest part is just going to be getting into the housing for your light, that's always kind of tricky depending on the vehicle. And to be sure that this is a fit for you, the easiest way to do that is use our fit guide here at etrailer.com, if you haven't already done so. You'll just put in your year, make, and model, and then go from there to find the vehicle lights that fit yours. Again, if you haven't already done that.
So we'll turn these on, so it is going to be pretty bright. So you can see, got our nice light there, and then it also has a high beam function as well, so it kind of changes the angle of the light. I'll turn the lights out in the studio, might help to show you what I mean there. So that light changes angles. It is a nice, cool white light, so that helps to promote better visibility and helps your eye to see a bit better in the dark.
Turn the lights back on, turn this guy off, and we can talk about some of the specs. So this is IP67 rated, basically that means that it's impervious to dust, and it also is rated for being sprayed with powerful jets of water. So definitely weather proof, should give you a great resistance to any kind of shock, dust, water from getting in there and causing any issues. The light output for these is 3000 lumens for the raw lumen output. The effective lumens is 1,995, and the stable lumens, after about 30 minutes of usage, it drops down to 1,550 lumens. So what do all those numbers mean Basically the raw lumens is the potential for these lights to put out in a perfect world, with no interference from any kind of real world factors, it could have the potential of putting out 3000 lumens.
The effective lumens is going to be more the number to go off of, which is just under 2000 lumens. And again, stable lumens drops down after they've been on for about 30 minutes. But still going to be a nice bright light, should definitely be an improvement over what comes in your vehicle.Again, that color temperature is 6,500 Kelvin, or 6,500 Kelvin, which is that cool white color. The wattage per bulb is 16.5 watts. The power draw at 13 volts is 1.3 amps per bulb, and the operating voltage goes between 7.5 volts up to 16 volts. They are covered by a two year limited warranty, and that's really about all there is to it. One last thing I want to say, if you do have a vehicle that's equipped with a CAN bus, or a PWM vehicle, you will need a harness to go with that, and you can also get it as a kit with the bulbs as well, sometimes that can be a little bit less expensive, so that's an option for you, both of those are available right here at etrailer.com. Well I hope this video has been helpful. Again, I'm Ellen here at etrailer, thanks for watching.

I've had the opportunity to use these LED's for about a month now and I can say they have worked great. They are exceptionally brighter than the OEM halogen bulbs with a slight blueish tint. I have tried other cheap LED's that flickered or pulsed and threw the light out everywhere, blinding oncoming traffic. These LED's have a very define cut-off line and concentrate the light appropriately. These are plug-and-play so it easy to install these in my quad headlights. I have a stock height truck so I didn't need to re-aim my headlights once I was done. I would suggest these as an upgrade from stock lights. Thanks etrailer!
