Ball Displayed

The Hide-A-Goose gooseneck trailer hitch works to meet your heavy-duty towing needs while still allowing you to get full use out of your truck bed. The hitch installs beneath your vehicle to create a low-profile look. Even the safety-chain holders sit flush against your truck bed to take up as little room as possible. The ball easily secures in the hitch with a reinforced locking pin that is operated by a handle that installs in your truck's rear wheel well.

Handle and Storage

This hitch is called the Hide-A-Goose because of its convenient ability to hide the ball when you're not towing. To remove the ball, just pull the handle in the wheel well until it latches in the open position. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then pull the handle again to release it from the open position and reengage the locking pin to secure the ball in the stowed position.

Magent Cover

Once you secure the ball in the stowed position inside the hitch, use the magnetic cover to conceal the ball hole. This cover prevents dirt and debris from getting into the ball hole. This will prevent buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.

Video Transcript for Draw-Tite Gooseneck - Below the Bed - 9465-37 Review

Today were going to review part number 9465-37. This is the Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose under the Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with the installation kit. This part is designed to fit the Ford F150 with the 6-1/2 ft or 8-ft bed. Now we would recommend to determine the years and models that they would fit is to go to the product page for this part number and at the bottom of the page we will list the years and model of the Ford F150 that these will work on. This Gooseneck Trailer Hitch will include the center gooseneck head you see here that we installed to the rail and the mounting brackets. All those pieces are included and the hardware.

This is perfect for your heavy duty towing needs. This under bed design, this would all be under the bed, will ensure full access to your truck bed, only the hitch ball and the spring loaded safety chain loops will be visible in the truck bed when the hitch is set up to tow. Now you will have convenient access right here to the handle. It has a nice durable handle thats easy to grip. This will be in the drivers side fender well.

This will easily engage and disengage the hitch ball. Right now its engaged, so as you can see, the hitch ball wont go anywhere. If you pull out on the handle theres a little notch here that you just hook it to, it will allow you to slide out the hitch ball. As you can see, the hitch head will have a nice round sleeve and the hitch ball itself will have a round shank. That will provide a tighter fit than some of the square design goosenecks and it helps reduce the rattle and will boost the durability of the hitch.

This is a 2-5/16 size hitch ball. Also, another thing to notice is there is an alignment slot right here along the hole. On the other side they do not have one, so what youll need to do is make sure, if you look down in the sleeve on this side, theres a little pin that protrudes and you just line that with the pin and allows you to drop it in completely. Or if you flip it over to store it, same way, there you go, same way. You just need to match that alignment slot up with the pin.

Now this hitch ball will store upside down when the bed is not used. As you can see, just like that when youre not using it. Engage it and you wont be able to pull it out. They include this magnetic cover which you just lay over there. What that basically does is protect any dirt or grime from getting into that round sleeve and causing a problem with it getting stuck or anything. Basically if you just disengage it, pull it up, drop the alignment slot in, engage it and youre ready to go. The safety chain attachment points will sit flush in the truck bed. They are spring loaded so when you go to use that for safety change you can just hook it on and it will stay up. When you remove the safety chains they will pull back and be flushed with the truck bed. Now this part we are demonstrating on a custom rail kit which is designed specifically for your vehicle. We do always recommend the vehicle specific kits because they are easier to install than some of the universal units out there. So no drilling, welding or bed removal is required when installing this. The parts on this part is powder coated. Its a black powder coating which is sturdy and corrosion resistant. A few specs on this, the towing capacity we recommend is to see the vehicles owners manual because these rails and the brackets are rated to match the manufacturers tow rating. The actual gooseneck head itself is rated at 30,000 lbs gross towing weight capacity with a 7500 lb vertical load limit, our pin weight. This head does install to these rails, as you can see with the four large bolts. These are four 5/8-inch grade A carriage bolts. A few installation tips, you do need to drill a 3-1/2 inch diameter hole in your truck bed for the hitch ball to go through and you will need to drill four 9/16 holes for the safety chain U bolts to fit through also, but thats pretty much about it in the truck bed. Again, just to show you the operation of it, you pull out the handle which will disengage the hitch ball. You pull it up. If you want to store it just take that alignment slot, line it up with the pin, drop it in, its flush, engage it, its hooked in. Put your cover on. You can see you pretty much will have full access to the truck bed. This part does come with a limited lifetime warranty. That should do it for the review on part number 9465-37 the Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose Under Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with the rails and mounting brackets all included.

This hitch was surprisingly easy to install on my 2013 F150 Crew Cab though I did have to buy a large holesaw for the job. I was able to use the 5,000lb Air Lift bags with the internal jounce bumpers but I don't think that the 2,000lb bags would work. Without the internal jounce bumpers that have to be put in a different place. I would have preferred to use the 2,000lb bags because I believe that they give a smoother ride. I also use a ball with a 5" setback for cab clearance on my horse trailer and 5.5ft bed combination with good results. It would have been nice if they made a hitch with a setback for shorter beds but other than that it is great. 582219

Shipping was very quick. It only took about an hour and a half to install the hitch. Also ordered a 5” extension which worked well with a featherlite 3 horse slant gooseneck hooked to my Ford F-150 with a 5 1/2 foot bed. Great job guys, keep up the good work! 499930

This has been the fastest and most simple install of a hitch I've ever done. The staff ensured that I had the right parts for the right truck. A simple thought, right, well -many other companies just guess. This set up was a perfect fit and finish. I can't give a high enough congratulatory review. And they set up an answer page, optional equipment, and linked install and other videos to the page. Well done! Thank you. 482677

Easy install. It took about 2.5 hours for me and a friend with a lift in his shop to install the hitch. Its kind a scary drilling a 3.5" hole in the bed of a truck. 455878

It was easy to install in my 04 f-150, we have pulled our 20ft 3 horse slant trailer all over the state of Arkansas. The hitch is still easy to open and close, I haven't done anything to it since install. When I buy a new truck, I'll get a new e-trailer hitch for it. Thanks all. 295264

I traded in the truck the hitch was mounted in, for a newer one several months ago but the hitch worked great from day one of install to the day I traded in the truck, the hitch worked great every week when I used it to pull my horse trailer around.

Service from etrailer was great. The part went together relatively smoothly and all items were included (no missing bolts, washers, etc.). 4 of 5 stars only because the directions were somewhat confusing which caused installation to be more of a trail and error ordeal than anything else. 247519

Came with the wrong back cross member or one that had the bolts welded in the wrong place. It took a while to figure this out, after we had the two cross members bolted to the hitch. The bolts then wouldn't fit to the plates that bolt to the frame. Sent pictures to etrailer and they had a replacement sent the next day. Just inconvenient since I had to wait for my free help to come back home. Seems to work fine now that it is installed. 234812

I installed the hitch on a 2011 F-150 crew cab with 5 1/2 ft bed. Works perfect with no clearance issues between the truck cab and a platform style gooseneck trailer. Well engineered product. I would recommend using a lift and removing both rear tires and the spare for more working room. I also marked and drilled the hole for the ball from underneath the bed for a perfect fit. 203602

The box for the installation brackets was busted up (I blame the shipping company for that), but all parts were there. The hitch and brackets are very well made and went easy, but it did take a little longer than I expected. I am planning on putting another gooseneck hitch on another truck I have and will definantely use etrailer again. etrailer had the best price, it came quickly, and they handle quality products. 390721

While initially I was frustrated with what was potentially going to be super slow shipping, the customer service at etrailer was fantastic. We ended up getting the hitch we ordered in a timely fashion and it came with easy to use instructions. The worst part was trying to cut the hole in the bed of the truck, but ended up working out fine. thank you etrailer! Excellent customer service. 553194

Product is a great fit for my 2016 Ram 2500. The installation videos are dead on which allowed me to install the hitch myself. DIY savings was approx. $125. Tip: In addition to bending the wire on the nut plates, use plastic zip ties to secure the wires. This will absolutely prevent any rattling noise. 400447

My son and I bought the Hide-a-Goose set up for his 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab. The shipping of the 111 lbs. packages (came in 2 boxes) was fast! Upon arrival, the instructions were right-on and easy to follow. We took our time and the installation went off without a hitch(pun intended!). We purchased the "no drilling required" kit and the only holes needed were through the truck bed. George kept us updated and we really appreciate the guys at etrailer. I highly recommend their products and would most definitely buy from etrailer again! Thanks guys! Leon W. 246677

Pretty good hitch, I’ve had and installed several gooseneck hitches and this one wasn’t bad to install. It’s well built and appears to exceed my trucks towing capacity, I advise to go ahead and lift the back of the bed up at least 2” to make it easier to install and align the hitch. I installed this on a 2018 GMC 2500 HD. 575037

Fast shipping. Everything fit perfect. Hardest thing is fishing bolts up through box frame. Need to use two screwdrivers to keep up off of bottom of frame. I installed by myself in 3-4 hours. 2 people could do it in 2. Second gooseneck hitch I have gotten from Etrailer. Will get next one frim them. I highly recommend. 166295

This hitch is exactly what we needed to pull our camper. Worked great, but not the easiest to install, especially using the instructions that come with the hitch. After watching a YouTube video, which gave a much better understanding, I was able to install the hitch with a better idea of what I was doing. Do to the lack of written instructions I am giving this a 4 star instead of a 5 star. 418586

Easy install once you get past the kinda confusing drawings. The safety hooks are pretty short, I just have the nuts flush with threads but can't get the hooks under them. I will have to look for longer ones. Took 3 hrs to install with having to remove hard tonneau cover and bed liner and reinstalling and clean up. Thought it would be worse!! The isolation tape they send with the hitch is kind of cheesy, hopefully it works. Was a great price! 435890

Hitch works great, no problems with the ball or linkages freezing up. Everything seems good. Have used it to pull a cattle trailer 12+ times this year.

Good hitch. Love the drop and lock ball way more than my old hide-a-goose turnover ball. Installed it myself and only had to unbolt the brake like bracket. Left spare tire and exhaust in place. Put the ball in the center piece and slid it up and had my neighbor hold it by the ball while I put the conicals and nuts on. 519709

Hitch performs well. Nice heavy duty steel. I have 4 star bc the measurement for the hitch wasn't quite right on my truck. From end of bed to center was about an 1/8" off. I had to cut out some extra on the cab side of the bed. Once that was done it was perfect. The magnet Drawtite supplies is just pathetic. I threw it away and made my own cover. As far as performance and ease of use I would recommend. There is a YouTube video etrailer has that is also very helpful. I referred to it a couple of times the instructions didn't make sense or I just wanted to check direction and that I was using the proper bolts. In one part the instructions say to use a washer but in the video they do not. I chose to go without. If you just want a good reliable gooseneck hitch for a few $$ less this is the one. 433787

The only reason this product got 1 star is because I had to give it one star to rate it! Stupid system. The product I bought was the (Cequent) Draw-Tite 9460-48 gooseneck hitch. This is the worse product I ever bought. It is rated on everyone's website as having a 30,000 lb capacity. When you get the hitch you see all of these stickers on it saying DO NOT EXCEED 22,000 LBS. Initially the manufacturer said it was a mistake: they put the wrong stickers on it. When asked for new 30,000 lb stickers they admitted it was only rated for 22,000 lbs. I won't buy any Cequent Products ever. Or any of the Brand Names they sell. Draw_Tite is one of their brands. 315874

I have bought from etrailer for many years now. Many hitches from a 2005 Toyota highlander hitch and wiring, to a 2012 Chrysler town and country hitch and wiring, brake controller to my most recent one a 2008 dodge ram mega cab gooseneck hitch. Every part I have bought have fit without any modification. The YouTube videos are specially helpful. I've recieved my shipment a few days ago which was way faster then I expected. Today i woke up ready to install it, I read the instructions and watched the YouTube video went under my truck bed and started working on it. I did mess up on the hole for the ball but that was my oops. Very satisfied. 501465

Fairly easy to install. I had to drop the spare tire and remove the heat shield, but once I did that I had plenty of room to work. You have to install the frame rails from in between the truck frame over top of the rear differential. You cannot slide them in from the side of the truck. Cutting the hole through the truck bed correctly is tricky. Mine was off about a 1/4 inch. Use a bi-metal hole saw and you'll pop right through. The rest installs pretty straight forward. 368453

Ordered the hide a ball gooseneck hitch I had it in 4 business days with the free shipping, and if that wasn't good enough I found a cheaper priced hitch on another site after I bought it, and etrailer refunded me the difference plus 5% and lowered the price online so that the customers are getting the best bang for the buck with hands down the best customer service I have encountered yet. As far as the hitch goes it comes with plenty of instructions and all the hardware and took a buddy and I 2 hours from start to finish to complete. Great product, great service 168992

Very please with the customer service and the hitch! I called etrailer.com to verify the hitch would fit my 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 dually, as I wasn't entirely sure the application was the same for a standard bed and a dually. Lindy was extremely helpful, and I was able to place my order with her right over the phone. The hitch arrived on time, and I was able to install it with no significant problems. I say 'significant problems', as the custom exhaust installed by the previous owner was in the way, but that's a problem with my truck, not the hitch. A recommendation: get a computer, or tablet, or phone, and use the video for installation. The video was (by far!) the best explanation on how to install the hitch. I used both the video and the written instructions, and occasionally the written instructions made me scratch my head. The video immediately cleared up any confusion. A word of caution, though, don't throw out the written instructions. They have the measuring distance for drilling the holes in the bed and the torque specs for the bolts. The whole installation took about four hours, from pulling the truck into the garage to putting everything away after installing the hitch. Most of that time was trying to maneuver around the non-standard exhaust, though. If my truck had the factory exhaust, I figure it would have been about two to two and a half hours for installation. The only tool I had to get was the correct size hole saw for drilling out the bed to install the ball. Everything else in the installation just requires basic hand tools and a decent socket set. Overall, it was an easy installation, and a great product. I would highly recommend this hitch, and will purchase it again if, or when, I get another truck. 504530

  • Gooseneck Hitch Recommendation for a 2011 Ford F-150 with a 5-1/2 foot Bed
  • The Draw Tite Gooseneck Hitch part # 9465-37 that you referenced is confirmed to work on your 2011 Ford F150 with a 5-1/2 foot bed. The review you read about the bed being raised 1.5 inches meant that he raised the bed a little bit to install the hitch. This hitch does not permanently raise the bed of your truck at all. For additional clearance for turning you may also be interested in the offset gooseneck ball part # 19308.

  • Will Curt Gooseneck Hitch # C60721 Fit 2013 Ford F150 with Shortbed
  • The Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # C60721 is not a fit for your 2013 Ford F-150 with a 5-1/2 foot bed. For a similar gooseneck hitch that is a confirmed fit, I recommend the Draw-Tite Gooseneck hitch # 9465-37. On a bed that short I also recommend adding the 5 inch offset ball # 19308.

  • Pilot Hole Location for Placing Gooseneck Hitch Ball in Bed of 2012 Ford F150
  • For the 5-1/2 and 6-1/2 foot bed of the 2012 Ford F150, you'd drill the pilot hole for the gooseneck ball to pass through the truck bed at 45-3/4 inches forward of the rear of the truck bed (not the end of the tailgate.) This holds true for the 5-1/2 and the 6-1/2 foot bed. If you don't already have a 3-1/2 inch hole saw, you'll need part # 58381 and the # 1937 arbor. If you don't already have a 7-way trailer connector installed in the truck bed, you can install one using part # 41157. If...

  • Recommended 5th Wheel To Gooseneck Adapter For 2013 Ford F-150 With 6-1/2 Ft Bed
  • If you decide to change over to a gooseneck system on your 2013 Ford F-150, there may be a couple of issues. With a 6-1/2 ft bed on your truck, if you use a gooseneck adapter like the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter, part # CAB-C5G, you run the risk of hitting your cab when executing turns. You will also want to check with the trailer manufacturer to see if there are any warranty issues when installing adapters on the trailer. Using an adapter would then require...

  • Gooseneck Trailer Hitch and Installation Kit Recommendation for a 2004 Ford F-150 Super Cab
  • The Curt Folding Gooseneck Ball, # C-52, goes with Curt Universal Installation Kit, # C61502. Since the install kit is Universal, it is designed to fit many different vehicles but an exact application guide is not available for it. But, there are numerous custom kits that will fit your 2004 Ford F-150 Super Cab. I have included a link to the available options for you to view. A popular option for a gooseneck hitch is B&W hitch # BWGNRK1104. Since you have a 6-1/2 foot bed I recommend...

  • Gooseneck and Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a 2014 Ford F-150
  • It really depends on the air bag system you go with and the gooseneck hitch you choose. A lot of the time the mounting brackets for both systems will occupy the same area of the trailer frame so there will be interference. Looking at the air bag systems for your 2014 Ford F-150 like the part # F2525 it would seem pretty hard to fit a hitch in that area. A better solution would be a Timbren system # TFR1504D that will give you the same support as an air bag kit and then a gooseneck hitch...

  • Recommended Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for 2008 Ford F-150 4x4 with 5.5 Foot Bed
  • For your 2008 Ford F-150 4x4 with 5.5 Foot Bed, I recommend the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit # BWGNRK1104 along with the offset ball # BWGNXA4085 to give you 4 more inches of clearance. These are made in the USA. Another great option is the Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with Custom Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs # 9465-37. This hitch has a 5 inch off-set ball # 19308 available for even more turning clearance. You may...

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2014 Ford F-150 with Draw Tite Goosneck Hitch
  • I have a recommendation for you, but we do not have an air spring suspension enhancement system that we can guarantee will work with your Draw-Tite Gooseneck Hitch # 9465-37. All of the air spring suspension enhancement systems we have for your 2014 Ford F-150 either mount on the outside of the frame or have a part of the mounting bracket that will come in contact with the outside of the frame. The Draw-Tite Gooseneck Hitch # 9465-37 mounts to the outside of the truck frame, so it is possible...

  • Location of Gooseneck Ball for Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose # 9465-37 on 2013 Ford F-150 Short Bed
  • The 1/4 inch hole for the gooseneck ball will be drilled 45-3/4 inches from the rear of the bed on your 2013 Ford F-150 with the 5-1/2 foot bed when installing the Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose # 9465-37. You can take a quick measurement from this point on your bed up to the back of the cab to see how close this will be to the cab. On a short bed like yours I do recommend adding an offset ball like the Draw-Tite # 19308 that will give you 5 inches of additional cab clearance.

  • Can I Install a Gooseneck Hitch on a 2013 Ford F-150 with Airbags
  • Which airbags do you have on your 2013 Ford F-150? If you have the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2525 then no, the Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # 9465-37 will not work as they both install on the outside of the frame rail. If you have the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL57200 then yes, the Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # 9465-37 will work for you as the airbags install under the frame and the gooseneck brackets...

  • 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Hitches for a 2010 Ford F-150 Supercrew with a 5-1/2 Foot Bed
  • Are you wanting to pull a 5th wheel hitch or a gooseneck hitch or both? The best way to pull any type of trailer is with a hitch designed for that type of trailer. For example you would not install a gooseneck hitch if you want to tow a 5th wheel trailer because you would have to add in an adapter of some kind. Adapters mean more expense, more stress on the trailer, and not as secure of a connection. For a 5th wheel trailer I recommend a fixed 5th wheel trailer hitch and a Sidewinder....

  • Could a 2005 Ford F-150 Use a Gooseneck Hitch to Tow a Fifth Wheel Trailer
  • The big issue is going to be the length of the bed on your truck. If you have a long bed truck then sticking with the gooseneck would be just fine. If you have a short bed you would need to go with a fifth wheel hitch setup since there are slider hitches available that will allow you to make tight turns without cab interference. For a gooseneck hitch for if you have a long bed you would want the part # 9465-37. This would be all that you need. If you have a short bed you would instead...

  • Where will the Ball of the Gooseneck Hitch part # 9465-37 Be In the Bed of a 2011 Ford F-150
  • When you install the Gooseneck hitch part # 9465-37 in the bed of your 2011 Ford F-150 the ball will end up right at 45-3/4 inches from the rear of the bed edge centered between the two wheel wells. You would need to find that spot in the bed of your truck and then measure to the front of the bed to see where it will be in relation to the cab.

For beds shorter than 6 foot, an offset ball, part # 19308 would most likely be needed to increase the distance between the rear bumper corners and the front of the trailer.
