Ball Displayed

The Hide-A-Goose gooseneck trailer hitch works to meet your heavy-duty towing needs while still allowing you to get full use out of your truck bed. The hitch installs beneath your vehicle to create a low-profile look.

Handle and Storage

This hitch is called the Hide-A-Goose because of the convenient ability to remove the ball when you're not towing. To remove the ball, just pull the handle in the wheel well until it latches in the open position. This will disengage the ball bearings in the shank so that you can easily lift the ball out of the hole.

Magent Cover

Once you've removed the ball, use the magnetic cover to conceal the ball hole. This cover prevents dirt and debris from getting into the ball hole. This will prevent buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.

Video Transcript for Draw-Tite Gooseneck - Below the Bed - 9465-36 Review

Today were going to review part number 9465-36. This is the Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose under bed gooseneck trailer hitch with the installation kit. This gooseneck trailer hitch is perfect foryour heavy duty towing needs. This specific application will fit the Toyota Tundra, both six and a half foot bed and eight foot bed. As far as the year-end models it will fit, you would needto go to the product page for this part number. At the bottom of the page, it will list the years and models.

This is a under bed design which will ensure full access to your truck bed. Only the ball and the safety chain loops here, theyre spring-loaded, are visible in the truck bed when the hitch isset up to tow. On the very side here, you can see it has a nice, durable handle that is accessible in the rear well on the drivers side so you can easily engage and disengage the ball.Basically, what you would do is you just pull this handle out. It has a notch on it that would lock it into place. It allows you to pull out the hitch ball.

If you'll notice, this hitch ball hasa round sleeve that it fits in and a round shank on the ball. This is a 2 5/16 inch hitch ball size. Because it has the round sleeve and a round shank, it will provide a much tighter fit thanany square-designed goosenecks. It will help reduce the rattle and boost the durability of the hitch. Basically, when you put this back in, if youll notice on one side, there is an alignment groove right here.

On this, theres a pin on this side that sticks out. Make sure to align this upthis way. If you pull it out, actually, I will turn it, try to put it in this way. You can see it wont go down. You need to lign up this long groove with the pin on that side and then slideright in.

Release the handle and it will gauge it and lock it into place. Now, these safety chains attachment parts Im showing you, they are spring loaded. When theyre not being used, they are pulled flush with the truck bed. When you use them, you just pull up on them, hook your safety chains to it and theyll hold it into place. Now, this part we are showing it with the custom rail kit and mounting brackets that are designed specifically for your vehicle. In this case, it was for the Toyota Tundra. Basically, all this would be under the bed and this would be on the side of the truck bed rails underneath the vehicle. On this application, most of these units, theyre called the Hide-A-Goose becausenormally, what you could do is remove the ball. You could remove the ball and theyre made to slip right back in place and then you could put the magnetic cover, which is right here, overthe ball. On this one application, the Toyota Tundra, because it is so close to the break lines underneath the vehicle by the rear end there, they actually put this plate. Theres aplate right here, its a little hard to see, but it mounts up under here. That will keep you from dropping the ball. It hits the plate. It doesnt allow you to actually hide the ball, like in the other applications. The reason they do that because they dont want it if it does. If they did allow that ball to try to be hidden, it would hit underneath here on the break linesfor this particular application. On the Toyota Tundra, you just have to remove the hitch ball, wouldnt be able to store it in there, and then just put your magnetic cover on. Then youll have full truck bed access, everything would be flush in the truck bed. The installation of this rail kit and brackets, theres usually no drilling, welding or bed removal required. All the parts are a black powdercoat finish. It is steel construction, which is sturdy and corrosion resistant. The towing capacity on this, we do recommend to see your vehicles owners manual because the rails and mounting brackets are rated to match the manufacturers tow rating. The head unititself right here is rated at 30,000 pounds gross towing weight capacity, with 7,500 pounds vertical load limit. Im just going to install this back in. There we go. Now, this head unit right here does install to the rails using this four 5/8 inch diameter grade A carriage bolts.Basically when you install this, you will need to drill a three and a half inch diameter hole in the truck bed for the hitch ball to stick through and then four holes, four 9/16 diameterholes for the safety chain U-bolts to fit through. Thats about all youd have to drill in the truck bed. This part does come with a limited lifetime warranty. That should do it for review on part number 9465-36, the Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose under bed gooseneck trailer hitch with the installation kit.

Decent hitch, not the first Draw-Tite product I've used. Designed well, plenty of room for adjustment built into the slots and holes of the parts. It's built heavier than I will ever be able to tow with my '07 Tundra. We're buying a 25 foot fifth wheel camper with a gooseneck adapter. Gooseneck hitches are supposed to be better for driving off road, which is a big plus for me. I have over 1000 feet of rutted gravel road and driveway to get the camper to our little retreat in the woods! I haven't towed the camper yet, but I will add comments when I do! It would have been easier to install with a lift versus working from a creeper, but it still only took four hours! I'm sure it would have been easier on a new truck as well, not as much rust! The drawing and instructions were good, but could have explained which bolts went where a bit better. I did figure it out after a bit. Worst part was fixing all the other stuff that I found when I rolled under the truck! Only negative is the magnetic "cap" to keep the dirt out. Ridiculous! It's a refrigerator magnet! Why put that cheap thing in with such a heavy duty piece of equipment? I will figure something out to cover the hitch and plug the hole in the bed. 391215

Comments

Had to remove the hitch when I had the frame replaced on my Tundra, so I had to install the hitch again! The hitch is in great shape after about 2500 miles of pulling a 6000 pound trailer. It works as advertised, was a good price, and got shipped fairly quick. If youre even slightly mechanically adept, you should have no problems with the install. Even if youre not that handy, watch videos online to figure it out! As far as the cheap magnetic cap, I found a large freeze plug and painted it black to match the bed lining! Works great!

Ordered the hitch and brake controller on Friday morning and received them Tuesday afternoon. I purchased a hole saw during the weekend before the hitch arrived. I began installing late that night and finished the following morning. Installation was a breeze and went just as depicted in the videos provided on the website. Great product and great service! Most places were going to charge me $800-1000.00 for a goose-neck hitch, brake controller and installation. etrailer.com saved me several hundreds of dollars! Thanks! 556627

The product is really of good quality and easy to assemble. However, I would like to dedicate these 5 stars not only to the product, but mainly to the quality of personal customer service I received from etrailer. Not only did I receive good advice, the products on time and the instructional videos are fantastic! I was so satisfied that I immediately placed an additional order for parts for my horse trailer this time. Thanks y’all! 481394

The box for the installation brackets was busted up (I blame the shipping company for that), but all parts were there. The hitch and brackets are very well made and went easy, but it did take a little longer than I expected. I am planning on putting another gooseneck hitch on another truck I have and will definantely use etrailer again. etrailer had the best price, it came quickly, and they handle quality products. 390721

While initially I was frustrated with what was potentially going to be super slow shipping, the customer service at etrailer was fantastic. We ended up getting the hitch we ordered in a timely fashion and it came with easy to use instructions. The worst part was trying to cut the hole in the bed of the truck, but ended up working out fine. thank you etrailer! Excellent customer service. 553194

Product is a great fit for my 2016 Ram 2500. The installation videos are dead on which allowed me to install the hitch myself. DIY savings was approx. $125. Tip: In addition to bending the wire on the nut plates, use plastic zip ties to secure the wires. This will absolutely prevent any rattling noise. 400447

My son and I bought the Hide-a-Goose set up for his 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab. The shipping of the 111 lbs. packages (came in 2 boxes) was fast! Upon arrival, the instructions were right-on and easy to follow. We took our time and the installation went off without a hitch(pun intended!). We purchased the "no drilling required" kit and the only holes needed were through the truck bed. George kept us updated and we really appreciate the guys at etrailer. I highly recommend their products and would most definitely buy from etrailer again! Thanks guys! Leon W. 246677

Pretty good hitch, I’ve had and installed several gooseneck hitches and this one wasn’t bad to install. It’s well built and appears to exceed my trucks towing capacity, I advise to go ahead and lift the back of the bed up at least 2” to make it easier to install and align the hitch. I installed this on a 2018 GMC 2500 HD. 575037

Fast shipping. Everything fit perfect. Hardest thing is fishing bolts up through box frame. Need to use two screwdrivers to keep up off of bottom of frame. I installed by myself in 3-4 hours. 2 people could do it in 2. Second gooseneck hitch I have gotten from Etrailer. Will get next one frim them. I highly recommend. 166295

This hitch is exactly what we needed to pull our camper. Worked great, but not the easiest to install, especially using the instructions that come with the hitch. After watching a YouTube video, which gave a much better understanding, I was able to install the hitch with a better idea of what I was doing. Do to the lack of written instructions I am giving this a 4 star instead of a 5 star. 418586

Easy install once you get past the kinda confusing drawings. The safety hooks are pretty short, I just have the nuts flush with threads but can't get the hooks under them. I will have to look for longer ones. Took 3 hrs to install with having to remove hard tonneau cover and bed liner and reinstalling and clean up. Thought it would be worse!! The isolation tape they send with the hitch is kind of cheesy, hopefully it works. Was a great price! 435890

Hitch works great, no problems with the ball or linkages freezing up. Everything seems good. Have used it to pull a cattle trailer 12+ times this year.

Good hitch. Love the drop and lock ball way more than my old hide-a-goose turnover ball. Installed it myself and only had to unbolt the brake like bracket. Left spare tire and exhaust in place. Put the ball in the center piece and slid it up and had my neighbor hold it by the ball while I put the conicals and nuts on. 519709

Hitch performs well. Nice heavy duty steel. I have 4 star bc the measurement for the hitch wasn't quite right on my truck. From end of bed to center was about an 1/8" off. I had to cut out some extra on the cab side of the bed. Once that was done it was perfect. The magnet Drawtite supplies is just pathetic. I threw it away and made my own cover. As far as performance and ease of use I would recommend. There is a YouTube video etrailer has that is also very helpful. I referred to it a couple of times the instructions didn't make sense or I just wanted to check direction and that I was using the proper bolts. In one part the instructions say to use a washer but in the video they do not. I chose to go without. If you just want a good reliable gooseneck hitch for a few $$ less this is the one. 433787

The only reason this product got 1 star is because I had to give it one star to rate it! Stupid system. The product I bought was the (Cequent) Draw-Tite 9460-48 gooseneck hitch. This is the worse product I ever bought. It is rated on everyone's website as having a 30,000 lb capacity. When you get the hitch you see all of these stickers on it saying DO NOT EXCEED 22,000 LBS. Initially the manufacturer said it was a mistake: they put the wrong stickers on it. When asked for new 30,000 lb stickers they admitted it was only rated for 22,000 lbs. I won't buy any Cequent Products ever. Or any of the Brand Names they sell. Draw_Tite is one of their brands. 315874

I have bought from etrailer for many years now. Many hitches from a 2005 Toyota highlander hitch and wiring, to a 2012 Chrysler town and country hitch and wiring, brake controller to my most recent one a 2008 dodge ram mega cab gooseneck hitch. Every part I have bought have fit without any modification. The YouTube videos are specially helpful. I've recieved my shipment a few days ago which was way faster then I expected. Today i woke up ready to install it, I read the instructions and watched the YouTube video went under my truck bed and started working on it. I did mess up on the hole for the ball but that was my oops. Very satisfied. 501465

Fairly easy to install. I had to drop the spare tire and remove the heat shield, but once I did that I had plenty of room to work. You have to install the frame rails from in between the truck frame over top of the rear differential. You cannot slide them in from the side of the truck. Cutting the hole through the truck bed correctly is tricky. Mine was off about a 1/4 inch. Use a bi-metal hole saw and you'll pop right through. The rest installs pretty straight forward. 368453

Ordered the hide a ball gooseneck hitch I had it in 4 business days with the free shipping, and if that wasn't good enough I found a cheaper priced hitch on another site after I bought it, and etrailer refunded me the difference plus 5% and lowered the price online so that the customers are getting the best bang for the buck with hands down the best customer service I have encountered yet. As far as the hitch goes it comes with plenty of instructions and all the hardware and took a buddy and I 2 hours from start to finish to complete. Great product, great service 168992

Very please with the customer service and the hitch! I called etrailer.com to verify the hitch would fit my 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 dually, as I wasn't entirely sure the application was the same for a standard bed and a dually. Lindy was extremely helpful, and I was able to place my order with her right over the phone. The hitch arrived on time, and I was able to install it with no significant problems. I say 'significant problems', as the custom exhaust installed by the previous owner was in the way, but that's a problem with my truck, not the hitch. A recommendation: get a computer, or tablet, or phone, and use the video for installation. The video was (by far!) the best explanation on how to install the hitch. I used both the video and the written instructions, and occasionally the written instructions made me scratch my head. The video immediately cleared up any confusion. A word of caution, though, don't throw out the written instructions. They have the measuring distance for drilling the holes in the bed and the torque specs for the bolts. The whole installation took about four hours, from pulling the truck into the garage to putting everything away after installing the hitch. Most of that time was trying to maneuver around the non-standard exhaust, though. If my truck had the factory exhaust, I figure it would have been about two to two and a half hours for installation. The only tool I had to get was the correct size hole saw for drilling out the bed to install the ball. Everything else in the installation just requires basic hand tools and a decent socket set. Overall, it was an easy installation, and a great product. I would highly recommend this hitch, and will purchase it again if, or when, I get another truck. 504530

Great product at a great price! I measured out the 3.5" hole location as the directions said for a 8 ft bed on my 2010 Ram 3500 4X4 quad cab. I drilled the hole and deburred, Removed the rear fender well panels and proceded to slide the rails over the chasis. I had to bend the steel flange where the bed is put together during fabrication to have enough room to fit the rail between the bed and the chasis. This was only done on one side in one location. The rails slid right in and I continued on with the install. It was a little hard by myself but I managed. I did not have a lift and was lying on my back under the truck half the time. I did not have to remove my rear tires, raise the bed or remove exhaust to install. I did notice that I could have drilled the 3.5" hole about 3/8" to 1/4" less than the specified distance for perfect alignment on the chasis but all worked out well and it tows great! I'm very satisfied with my hitch and the experience with Etrailer, Thanks Etrailer! 182288

Very pleased with the simple design. I Choose this hitch based on the cross bar and frame plate design. It looked easier to install than some other brands, and it was, a simple painless install. The cross bars easily slipped over the frame rails and under the pickup bed without a fus. The cross bars have threaded ends built in (like bolts welded in the corners of the angle steel) that allow you to loosely hang the side brackets off the cross rails while getting everything fitted. (so you don't need 3 hands) The U-Bolts for the frame rail helps avoid having to drill holes in the frame for additional bolts. The ball design has good clearances to the pocket so this ball should not be getting rusted in place. The simple spring loaded pin lock for the ball also has good clearances and just pulls straight in and out of the ball to lock and unlock from the wheel well handle. Flipping the ball over to "hide away" means the bed can still be free and clear for loading materials. Cutting the 3.5" hole in the bed was made simple by accurate easy measurement instructions and a readily available hole saw from the hardware store. The carriage bolt hardware means you don't need a wrench on the backside of the bolt when tightening the nuts. Great Product, excellent design, easy to install and use. 431243

The product itself seems to be ok, my main problem was with the installation instructions, namely the measurement as to where to drill the hole in the bed of a 2008 Ford F250 crew cab diesel short bed. I first watched and used etrailer.com's video instructions where they installed this same hitch on a 2008 Ford F250 diesel just like mine so I thought it would be pretty accurate. Well it was except for the most important part, the measurement as to where to drill the hole in the bed. On the video it said drill at 47 7/8". I should have double checked the instructions from draw-tite but felt etrailer's video would be correct. It wasn't though. After drilling the hole and realizing it was off I looked at draw-tite's instructions which said drill hole at 46 3/16" so luckily I was able to use the hole saw again to very carefully drill a hole at 46 3/16" only to find out on my truck this was wrong also as it was too short! I was able to make it work by trimming the edges where the two holes met and so now I have an oval hole instead of a circle. I measured the center of the hole after installing it and I should have drilled the hole at around 46 5/8". If I was to do it again I would have installed the plate under the bed and tightened it up and marked on the underside of the bed the center of the hole. Then removed the hitch plate and used a punch or small drill bit to drill up from bottom of bed to mark center of hole. Just make sure you know where the center is before you drill and don't just rely on the measurement given in the instructions. Luckily this was not a new truck with a nice bed and I had a plastic bedliner that covered up my mistake! Probably should have went with the B&W my buddy installed in his truck with no problems! 160419

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose in Gooseneck

Excellent product, easy to follow directions. Videos was great help. Installers in videos make it seem a simple install. I would say if you haven't installed one before it will most likely take more time than expected. Take your time and follow directions step by step. Some unexpected encounters with my truck was a plastic channel than ran along bottom of wheel wheels on both sides that had wiring running thur them. Had to lower to install fasteners. The cross members have threaded studs on end that are painted. Take a wire brush and remove paint from the studs so nuts will go on easy. 57665

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose in Gooseneck

The customer service was spectacular which is great to find nowadays. The hitch I had a couple issues with however. Issue 1 was the the u-bolts for the safety chains are to short. I hooked up my trailer jumped in the back and couldn't get the chains in the loops without taking the nuts off the bolts putting on the chains and having my girlfriend push them down while i put the nuts on (I have a plastic bedliner which might have been the main issue here). Issue 2 is that online it says that I can tow 30,000lbs with this hitch. However when this hitch came in it said in multiple places in the mounting kit not to exceed 17,000lbs which makes me kind of nervous since I have to pull some heavy loads On the bright side though the hitch installed easier then i thought it would and I found etrailers YouTube video very helpful for it. I used it to pull a 13,000lb trailer this weekend and had no issues with it I'd probably buy this hitch again just because it's significantly cheaper then the blue ox and b&w hitches but I'd like them fix the above mentioned issues 386546

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose in Gooseneck

Hitch seems to be built fairly well as far as the head and rail kit. The side plates for the frame are not even as thick as my frame rail. Didn't like that. Also a major turn off to this hitch, on my truck, a 2001 dodge 2500 short bed, the carriage bolts that hold the head to the rails, the heads hit the bed floor, enough to where the bed does not sit flush on the frame. 4 1 inch holes had to be drilled in the bed to let the bolt heads through. Also used a hare bigger hole saw than 3.5 to give some wiggle room. But the bolts hitting the floor needs to be addressed by draw tite. Wouldn't recommend for a dodge pickup 191838

  • 5th Wheel or Gooseneck Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Toyota Tundra Short Bed
  • You can install a fifth wheel or gooseneck hitch in your 2012 Toyota Tundra, however, there are a few things that we will need to take into consideration before selecting the appropriate hitch for your truck. I assume by Maxcab, you are referring to the CrewMax cab. The CrewMax cab models have a 5-1/2 ft bed. If your truck bed length is 5-1/2 ft, then, to tow a fifth wheel trailer, you will need a few different items such as the Reese Semi-Custom Install Kit, # RP30035-309, a fixed...

  • I called my contact at Draw-Tite and they informed me that the distance from the center of the hitch ball on the Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with Custom Installation Kit part # 9465-36 to the front of the bed on your 2017 Toyota Tundra with the 6-1/2' bed is 36". Therefore, as long as the folding portion of either the Extang Trifecta 2.0 Soft Tonneau Cover part # EX92465 or the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Tonneau Cover part # EX83465 closest to the cab does not extend...

  • The Draw-Tite gooseneck hitch # 9465-36 includes the hitch itself and the custom fit installation kit for a 2011 Toyota Tundra. The install kit fits the 6-1/2 and 8 foot bed models. The only other things you will need for installation are the proper tools. If you need a hole saw, use # 58381.

  • Gooseneck Hitch Ball Location When Installing Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose # 9465-36 in 2007 Tundra
  • The hole for the gooseneck hitch ball in your 2007 Toyota Tundra truck bed is to be located 41-1/2inches forward of the rear edge of the bed and should be centered between the wheel wells. It is recommended to start a 1/4-inch pilot hole to establish your position before using a hole saw to cut the 3-1/2-inch hole. I have linked the page for a 3-1/2-inch hole saw in case you need this item, part # 58381. There are two sets of installation instructions for this hitch. The alternate instructions...

  • Gooseneck Hitch for 2013 Toyota Tundra With 5-1/2 Bed
  • While there is a gooseneck hitch that will fit the 5-1/2' bed on your 2013 Toyota Tundra the Curt Double Lock # C60751 is not a fit. Instead, I recommend the Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with Custom Installation Kit # 9465-36. • The Draw Tite Gooseneck hitch part # 9465-36 that you referenced has been confirmed as a fit for your 2013 Toyota Tundra with a 6-1/2 foot bed. The offset adapter designed for this hitch is the part # 19308 which would also work. I have a suspension enhancement recommendation I can make, but the air bag systems do not work with the rail kits of gooseneck/fifth wheel hitches. The Timbren kit part # TTORTUN4 would fit your truck and would work well as suspension enhancement. This is...

  • Auto manufacturers get to have the final word on what their vehicles can and cannot do. Your owner's manual will indicate the towing capacity for your particular truck exactly as it is configured or your local dealership can confirm this for you if you provide your truck's VIN number. I was able to find in my research reference to a 10,000 tow rating for versions of the SR5 but I cannot be sure this is accurate for your truck; your owner's manual (or dealership) is the final authority on...

  • Gooseneck Hitch and Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a 2012 Toyota Tundra
  • I have a solution for you that will give you both a gooseneck hitch for the bed of your 2012 Toyota Tundra and will give you suspension enhancement. But there isn't an air spring kit I can recommend for your truck to go with a gooseneck hitch since the install brackets would interfere. For suspension enhancement you would want the Timbren part # TTORTUN4 and then for a gooseneck hitch the # 9465-36 would work well. Timbrens are great since they don't require any routing of air lines...

The bottom connects to a standard 2-5/16 inch ball and the top connects to a 5th wheel trailer pin box. The 8 inch offset allows for more clearance on short bed trucks like the 6-1/2 foot bed on your 2007 Toyota Tundra. • Could 2014 Toyota Tundra with 5-1/2 ft Bed Tow Gooseneck Trailer
  • You do have a challenging setup for towing a gooseneck trailer, but if the trailer has a tapered nose like what you see on stock trailers and not a wider nose like what you see on horse trailers with living quarters you should be fine. Installing the Draw Tite Gooseneck Hitch part # 9465-36 is a fit for your 2014 Toyota Tundra 5-1/2 foot bed but since your bed is so short in length you'll want the offset ball extension # 19308 too. With this extension your toolbox would not be an issue either.

  • You are correct, the Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # 9465-36 for your 2015 Toyota Tundra will not allow the hitch ball to be stored inside the hitch upside down due to the chance of interference with the differential housing and/or brake lines. This fit error will be the same for all of the gooseneck hitches we have for your Tundra. Unfortunately, there is not way around the issue due to the design of the truck.
