Ball Displayed

The Hide-A-Goose gooseneck trailer hitch works to meet your heavy-duty towing needs while still allowing you to get full use out of your truck bed. The hitch installs beneath your vehicle to create a low-profile look.

Handle and Storage

This hitch is called the Hide-A-Goose because of the convenient ability to remove the ball when you're not towing. To remove the ball, just pull the handle in the wheel well until it latches in the open position. This will disengage the ball bearings in the shank so that you can easily lift the ball out of the hole.

Magent Cover

Once you've removed the ball, use the magnetic cover to conceal the ball hole. This cover prevents dirt and debris from getting into the ball hole. This will prevent buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.

Video Transcript for Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Toyota Tundra

Today on our 2015 Toyota Tundra we're going to show you how to install the draw-tite hide-a-goose under bed goose neck trailer hitch, with installation kit. This offers a 30,000 pound rating. This is designed for use in the 5 foot, 7 inch, 6 and a half, and 8 foot bed. Part number is 9465-36. All right, here's what the goose necks going to look like installed in the stored position. As you can see we've got pretty nice flush fit here on the head, safety chain connection points here on each side, so we'll be able to get to those and make the connections that are necessary.

Here's our 2 and 5 sixteenths inch ball. This is designed to slide right down in after we remove our magnetic cover into the circular sleeve. Now, you will notice our ball and the gooseneck have a rounded hole, this round to round configuration, it's going to give us a more snug fit, that's going to reduce any movement also any noise that we might experience inside of the cab of the truck. Now, these goose necks are great for maximizing the towing capacity of our vehicles. This is going to give us a connection point here in the bed of the truck, and allows for easier maneuvering. When we're ready to set it up to tow, all we have to do is pull our orange handle located in our wheel well.

Then we can line up the slot that's in the side of the ball, with the tab that sticks off inside of the hole. Simply drop it right down in, and then release our handle, our pin will slide right in and through. Then once we have our pin slid back in, as you can see we got a real nice solid connection point there. Now, this is going to offer a 7,500 pound vertical load limit, so that's the maximum downward force we can put here, and it's going to offer a 30,000 pound gross trailer weight rating, that's going to be the total of out trailer and then anything that we got on it. Of course, we do want to look into the owners manual of our Tundra, we want to see what its tow ratings are, and we'll go off of whichever of those numbers are the lowest. Now, with this nice under bed mount design, with our ball removed, we're going to have full access to our truck bed, be able to use all of it.

Another nice thing is, with the custom fit rails we're not going to have to modify the frame of the truck at all. We're not going to have to drill, we're not going to have to cut, we're not going to have to do anything like that. They're designed to bolt in using factory locations, and then we simply make our holes in the bed for the safety chain connection points, and for our ball itself. Now, the first thing we want to do is, get our spare tire lowered down out of the way. Next thing we're going to do is lower exhaust. To do that we're going to pull the exhaust hanger here, just separate the rubber hanger from the bracket there.

A little lubricant will make it easier to slide off of there. We've got the one we're doing here in the rear and then the one located right up front, just behind the muffler in the middle. What we're going to do is just use a safety strap, come around the underside there. That's just going to give our exhaust a little bit of support, we'll start separating our hangers. Usually you can just pry from the backside and they'll pop off there. That should give us enough room to get up there and take the couple bolts out of our heat shield there, and set it aside. Also, while we're here, on the passenger side there's this passenger side there's this wire moon that runs down, it's connected into the top of the frame right there. We want to go ahead and pull that fastener out, so we're just going to squeeze the 2 tabs together, then we just pull upward on it. Got to get that down out of the way, then we can go over to our driver side. Here we're going to remove the 2 nuts located here and here using a 12mm socket. That holds one of the components of the fuel system on back here, so let's get those out of the way. Now we'll grab one of our rails, the rails are identical, so front and rear is not going to make a difference, we're going to be putting the rear in so this will become the rear. we want to take the large carriage bolts that are going to come with the goose neck head itself. We want to slide those through these oblong mounting slots. We'll then take the opposite side, we want that to face up and down toward the rear of the vehicle. Slide this in at an angle here. We'll get it right up over that frame rail, and we want to bring it all the way to the back. I guess what they call a hat channel here. you will notice right here there's going to be a small kind of a dog ear, it's got a weld nut on it. We need the full bet down and out of the way so it doesn't give us any interference. Now, I'll do the same thing and get our front bar installed, just the other direction. Now we can get our side plates into position, we want our small holes up, as well as our square hole. We want the frame connection cabs to be facing outward. Then we need to slide this right up between the 2 plates. Do the same thing for both sides. Now, in our kit we're going to have 2 different size carriage bolts, the shorter of the carriage bolts, that's for our upper mounting location for our side bracket. The longer, is for the bottom. What we'll do is take our square hole spacer, we'll slide that on and then position it so that it'll go through our frame and bracket. Just like that. We'll put on comical tooth washer. Now the teeth of that washer need to face up towards our bracket, or our side plate. Then we'll thread on one of our hex nuts. We'll do the same thing for the top location using our smaller carriage bolt. Now we're just going to leave these loose for now, we can tighten them up later. Now we'll head over to our passenger side and we can repeat that same process there. Now we can take our half inch by 2 inch hex head bolt, and slide a washer on it. That's going to come through our side plate, through our rail, and then that will add one of our comical tooth washers. Then one of our hex nuts. Do that loosely on our front rail and our rear rail. Now we'll just do that exact same thing over here on the passenger side. Now we're ready to put the hole in the bed. What we're going to do is look at our instructions, we'll get our measurement. Let's get it marked out here. Now, we want to remember since this has a straight in bed liner, we want to account for that thickness as well, whatever that thickness is we want to add on. We'll make our mark here. Then we're going to go side to side, and we want this to be centered exactly between both of our fender wells. Just want to be sure to measure a couple times. There's going to be a 3 and a half inch hole we're putting in the bed, so I know we'd like to have that in the right spot. All right, now we're going to use a 3 and a half inch hole, so I think is the best way to get our most clean cut. You can use your favorite method as well. This seems to do the job really well. Now once you've got your hole drilled out it's going to be a good idea to clean up all these shavings so you're not tracking them around and inside your truck. Now after using a little bit of preventative spray paint here, we just cleaned up our edges make sure we don't any bare steel out. Then we're ready to raise our head up into position. Now, as we do this we need the 4 oblong holes on the outside towards the middle to line up with our 4 carriage bolts. Then onto each one of those we're going to start a comical tooth washer. Again, those teeth need to face up towards our hitch. Also one of our hex nuts. All right, now that we've confirmed that our heads in position lets get our ball locking plate put on. See there's a little bit of pressure there so it's holding our head in position, if yours is loose be sure to hang onto it. Then just take the 4 nuts out, put our blocking plate right up on. Then get all of our hardware put back. Now let's go through and get everything tightened down, we want to do it in the sequence that's outlined in the instructions, that's also where you'll find your exact torque specification for each of our bolt. Now we can bring our handle in form the outside of our fender well, we'll pass it right over, then we can slide it right into our center section. Then once we have our holes lined up, it's just a matter of sliding it into our clip. All right, nice and secure. Now we're going to of ahead and drill up through the bottom of our hitch and our safety chain connection points, through the bed of our truck. We need to create a nine sixteenths hole. We use our nine sixteenths inch drill bit to mark our holes, drill a pilot hole, and then we can finish them off with the larger bit. Now that we've got those drilled out we'll take our U bolts, we're going to place those right down through the holes that we've created. Then we can head to the underside and get them fastened into place. Now, we'll take one of our springs, one of our flat washers, and one of our locking nuts and we're going to place it up on each of the U bolt threads where they come down and through. Now we'll tighten each of our nuts down, having a minimum of 3 threads showing below it. All right, now we just want to check and be sure we can pull up and down on them freely without them getting jammed up. That's good. All right now let's get our exhaust put back into position here. Remember we had the one here behind the muffler and then also one closer to the end of the tailpipe. We'll pull our strap off there. Now, we're also going to take those 2 nuts that we pulled off our fuel pump control here, get those threaded back on and we'll tighten them down. All right, nice and secure. Now the only thing you should have left will be your heat shield and the 2 bolts used to hold that in place. We won't be re-using that. Now when we're ready to release our ball we're going to pull our on our engagement handle and just tip it to the side. Once we've got our ball in place we'll just simply come out here and allow it to return to it's original position. Now with our spare tire back where it belongs, that's going to complete today's installation of the draw-tite hide-a-goose under bed goose neck trailer hitch with installation kit. Part number 9465-36, on our 2015 Toyota Tundra.

Decent hitch, not the first Draw-Tite product I've used. Designed well, plenty of room for adjustment built into the slots and holes of the parts. It's built heavier than I will ever be able to tow with my '07 Tundra. We're buying a 25 foot fifth wheel camper with a gooseneck adapter. Gooseneck hitches are supposed to be better for driving off road, which is a big plus for me. I have over 1000 feet of rutted gravel road and driveway to get the camper to our little retreat in the woods! I haven't towed the camper yet, but I will add comments when I do! It would have been easier to install with a lift versus working from a creeper, but it still only took four hours! I'm sure it would have been easier on a new truck as well, not as much rust! The drawing and instructions were good, but could have explained which bolts went where a bit better. I did figure it out after a bit. Worst part was fixing all the other stuff that I found when I rolled under the truck! Only negative is the magnetic "cap" to keep the dirt out. Ridiculous! It's a refrigerator magnet! Why put that cheap thing in with such a heavy duty piece of equipment? I will figure something out to cover the hitch and plug the hole in the bed. 391215

Had to remove the hitch when I had the frame replaced on my Tundra, so I had to install the hitch again! The hitch is in great shape after about 2500 miles of pulling a 6000 pound trailer. It works as advertised, was a good price, and got shipped fairly quick. If youre even slightly mechanically adept, you should have no problems with the install. Even if youre not that handy, watch videos online to figure it out! As far as the cheap magnetic cap, I found a large freeze plug and painted it black to match the bed lining! Works great!

Ordered the hitch and brake controller on Friday morning and received them Tuesday afternoon. I purchased a hole saw during the weekend before the hitch arrived. I began installing late that night and finished the following morning. Installation was a breeze and went just as depicted in the videos provided on the website. Great product and great service! Most places were going to charge me $800-1000.00 for a goose-neck hitch, brake controller and installation. etrailer.com saved me several hundreds of dollars! Thanks! 556627

The product is really of good quality and easy to assemble. However, I would like to dedicate these 5 stars not only to the product, but mainly to the quality of personal customer service I received from etrailer. Not only did I receive good advice, the products on time and the instructional videos are fantastic! I was so satisfied that I immediately placed an additional order for parts for my horse trailer this time. Thanks y’all! 481394

Pretty good hitch, I’ve had and installed several gooseneck hitches and this one wasn’t bad to install. It’s well built and appears to exceed my trucks towing capacity, I advise to go ahead and lift the back of the bed up at least 2” to make it easier to install and align the hitch. I installed this on a 2018 GMC 2500 HD. 575037

While initially I was frustrated with what was potentially going to be super slow shipping, the customer service at etrailer was fantastic. We ended up getting the hitch we ordered in a timely fashion and it came with easy to use instructions. The worst part was trying to cut the hole in the bed of the truck, but ended up working out fine. thank you etrailer! Excellent customer service. 553194

The box for the installation brackets was busted up (I blame the shipping company for that), but all parts were there. The hitch and brackets are very well made and went easy, but it did take a little longer than I expected. I am planning on putting another gooseneck hitch on another truck I have and will definantely use etrailer again. etrailer had the best price, it came quickly, and they handle quality products. 390721

Product is a great fit for my 2016 Ram 2500. The installation videos are dead on which allowed me to install the hitch myself. DIY savings was approx. $125. Tip: In addition to bending the wire on the nut plates, use plastic zip ties to secure the wires. This will absolutely prevent any rattling noise. 400447

The only reason this product got 1 star is because I had to give it one star to rate it! Stupid system. The product I bought was the (Cequent) Draw-Tite 9460-48 gooseneck hitch. This is the worse product I ever bought. It is rated on everyone's website as having a 30,000 lb capacity. When you get the hitch you see all of these stickers on it saying DO NOT EXCEED 22,000 LBS. Initially the manufacturer said it was a mistake: they put the wrong stickers on it. When asked for new 30,000 lb stickers they admitted it was only rated for 22,000 lbs. I won't buy any Cequent Products ever. Or any of the Brand Names they sell. Draw_Tite is one of their brands. 315874

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose in Gooseneck

Hitch performs well. Nice heavy duty steel. I have 4 star bc the measurement for the hitch wasn't quite right on my truck. From end of bed to center was about an 1/8" off. I had to cut out some extra on the cab side of the bed. Once that was done it was perfect. The magnet Drawtite supplies is just pathetic. I threw it away and made my own cover. As far as performance and ease of use I would recommend. There is a YouTube video etrailer has that is also very helpful. I referred to it a couple of times the instructions didn't make sense or I just wanted to check direction and that I was using the proper bolts. In one part the instructions say to use a washer but in the video they do not. I chose to go without. If you just want a good reliable gooseneck hitch for a few $$ less this is the one. 433787

Fast shipping. Everything fit perfect. Hardest thing is fishing bolts up through box frame. Need to use two screwdrivers to keep up off of bottom of frame. I installed by myself in 3-4 hours. 2 people could do it in 2. Second gooseneck hitch I have gotten from Etrailer. Will get next one frim them. I highly recommend. 166295

Easy install once you get past the kinda confusing drawings. The safety hooks are pretty short, I just have the nuts flush with threads but can't get the hooks under them. I will have to look for longer ones. Took 3 hrs to install with having to remove hard tonneau cover and bed liner and reinstalling and clean up. Thought it would be worse!! The isolation tape they send with the hitch is kind of cheesy, hopefully it works. Was a great price! 435890

Hitch works great, no problems with the ball or linkages freezing up. Everything seems good. Have used it to pull a cattle trailer 12+ times this year.

My son and I bought the Hide-a-Goose set up for his 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab. The shipping of the 111 lbs. packages (came in 2 boxes) was fast! Upon arrival, the instructions were right-on and easy to follow. We took our time and the installation went off without a hitch(pun intended!). We purchased the "no drilling required" kit and the only holes needed were through the truck bed. George kept us updated and we really appreciate the guys at etrailer. I highly recommend their products and would most definitely buy from etrailer again! Thanks guys! Leon W. 246677

The customer service was spectacular which is great to find nowadays. The hitch I had a couple issues with however. Issue 1 was the the u-bolts for the safety chains are to short. I hooked up my trailer jumped in the back and couldn't get the chains in the loops without taking the nuts off the bolts putting on the chains and having my girlfriend push them down while i put the nuts on (I have a plastic bedliner which might have been the main issue here). Issue 2 is that online it says that I can tow 30,000lbs with this hitch. However when this hitch came in it said in multiple places in the mounting kit not to exceed 17,000lbs which makes me kind of nervous since I have to pull some heavy loads On the bright side though the hitch installed easier then i thought it would and I found etrailers YouTube video very helpful for it. I used it to pull a 13,000lb trailer this weekend and had no issues with it I'd probably buy this hitch again just because it's significantly cheaper then the blue ox and b&w hitches but I'd like them fix the above mentioned issues 386546

This hitch is exactly what we needed to pull our camper. Worked great, but not the easiest to install, especially using the instructions that come with the hitch. After watching a YouTube video, which gave a much better understanding, I was able to install the hitch with a better idea of what I was doing. Do to the lack of written instructions I am giving this a 4 star instead of a 5 star. 418586

Good hitch. Love the drop and lock ball way more than my old hide-a-goose turnover ball. Installed it myself and only had to unbolt the brake like bracket. Left spare tire and exhaust in place. Put the ball in the center piece and slid it up and had my neighbor hold it by the ball while I put the conicals and nuts on. 519709

Great product, I watched etrailers videos on installation of the hitch before it arrived and began disassembley of the truck, the video is very helpful in understanding the instructions with the hitch, the hitch arrived early in the day on the arrival date etrailer gave me, so I was able to finish installation that day. Thanks etrailer, Jason 463727

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose in Gooseneck

I have bought from etrailer for many years now. Many hitches from a 2005 Toyota highlander hitch and wiring, to a 2012 Chrysler town and country hitch and wiring, brake controller to my most recent one a 2008 dodge ram mega cab gooseneck hitch. Every part I have bought have fit without any modification. The YouTube videos are specially helpful. I've recieved my shipment a few days ago which was way faster then I expected. Today i woke up ready to install it, I read the instructions and watched the YouTube video went under my truck bed and started working on it. I did mess up on the hole for the ball but that was my oops. Very satisfied. 501465

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose in Gooseneck

Ordered the hide a ball gooseneck hitch I had it in 4 business days with the free shipping, and if that wasn't good enough I found a cheaper priced hitch on another site after I bought it, and etrailer refunded me the difference plus 5% and lowered the price online so that the customers are getting the best bang for the buck with hands down the best customer service I have encountered yet. As far as the hitch goes it comes with plenty of instructions and all the hardware and took a buddy and I 2 hours from start to finish to complete. Great product, great service 168992

Excellent product, easy to follow directions. Videos was great help. Installers in videos make it seem a simple install. I would say if you haven't installed one before it will most likely take more time than expected. Take your time and follow directions step by step. Some unexpected encounters with my truck was a plastic channel than ran along bottom of wheel wheels on both sides that had wiring running thur them. Had to lower to install fasteners. The cross members have threaded studs on end that are painted. Take a wire brush and remove paint from the studs so nuts will go on easy. 57665

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose in Gooseneck

The product itself seems to be ok, my main problem was with the installation instructions, namely the measurement as to where to drill the hole in the bed of a 2008 Ford F250 crew cab diesel short bed. I first watched and used etrailer.com's video instructions where they installed this same hitch on a 2008 Ford F250 diesel just like mine so I thought it would be pretty accurate. Well it was except for the most important part, the measurement as to where to drill the hole in the bed. On the video it said drill at 47 7/8". I should have double checked the instructions from draw-tite but felt etrailer's video would be correct. It wasn't though. After drilling the hole and realizing it was off I looked at draw-tite's instructions which said drill hole at 46 3/16" so luckily I was able to use the hole saw again to very carefully drill a hole at 46 3/16" only to find out on my truck this was wrong also as it was too short! I was able to make it work by trimming the edges where the two holes met and so now I have an oval hole instead of a circle. I measured the center of the hole after installing it and I should have drilled the hole at around 46 5/8". If I was to do it again I would have installed the plate under the bed and tightened it up and marked on the underside of the bed the center of the hole. Then removed the hitch plate and used a punch or small drill bit to drill up from bottom of bed to mark center of hole. Just make sure you know where the center is before you drill and don't just rely on the measurement given in the instructions. Luckily this was not a new truck with a nice bed and I had a plastic bedliner that covered up my mistake! Probably should have went with the B&W my buddy installed in his truck with no problems! 160419

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose in Gooseneck

Very please with the customer service and the hitch! I called etrailer.com to verify the hitch would fit my 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 dually, as I wasn't entirely sure the application was the same for a standard bed and a dually. Lindy was extremely helpful, and I was able to place my order with her right over the phone. The hitch arrived on time, and I was able to install it with no significant problems. I say 'significant problems', as the custom exhaust installed by the previous owner was in the way, but that's a problem with my truck, not the hitch. A recommendation: get a computer, or tablet, or phone, and use the video for installation. The video was (by far!) the best explanation on how to install the hitch. I used both the video and the written instructions, and occasionally the written instructions made me scratch my head. The video immediately cleared up any confusion. A word of caution, though, don't throw out the written instructions. They have the measuring distance for drilling the holes in the bed and the torque specs for the bolts. The whole installation took about four hours, from pulling the truck into the garage to putting everything away after installing the hitch. Most of that time was trying to maneuver around the non-standard exhaust, though. If my truck had the factory exhaust, I figure it would have been about two to two and a half hours for installation. The only tool I had to get was the correct size hole saw for drilling out the bed to install the ball. Everything else in the installation just requires basic hand tools and a decent socket set. Overall, it was an easy installation, and a great product. I would highly recommend this hitch, and will purchase it again if, or when, I get another truck. 504530

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose in Gooseneck

Very pleased with the simple design. I Choose this hitch based on the cross bar and frame plate design. It looked easier to install than some other brands, and it was, a simple painless install. The cross bars easily slipped over the frame rails and under the pickup bed without a fus. The cross bars have threaded ends built in (like bolts welded in the corners of the angle steel) that allow you to loosely hang the side brackets off the cross rails while getting everything fitted. (so you don't need 3 hands) The U-Bolts for the frame rail helps avoid having to drill holes in the frame for additional bolts. The ball design has good clearances to the pocket so this ball should not be getting rusted in place. The simple spring loaded pin lock for the ball also has good clearances and just pulls straight in and out of the ball to lock and unlock from the wheel well handle. Flipping the ball over to "hide away" means the bed can still be free and clear for loading materials. Cutting the 3.5" hole in the bed was made simple by accurate easy measurement instructions and a readily available hole saw from the hardware store. The carriage bolt hardware means you don't need a wrench on the backside of the bolt when tightening the nuts. Great Product, excellent design, easy to install and use. 431243

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose in Gooseneck

Great product at a great price! I measured out the 3.5" hole location as the directions said for a 8 ft bed on my 2010 Ram 3500 4X4 quad cab. I drilled the hole and deburred, Removed the rear fender well panels and proceded to slide the rails over the chasis. I had to bend the steel flange where the bed is put together during fabrication to have enough room to fit the rail between the bed and the chasis. This was only done on one side in one location. The rails slid right in and I continued on with the install. It was a little hard by myself but I managed. I did not have a lift and was lying on my back under the truck half the time. I did not have to remove my rear tires, raise the bed or remove exhaust to install. I did notice that I could have drilled the 3.5" hole about 3/8" to 1/4" less than the specified distance for perfect alignment on the chasis but all worked out well and it tows great! I'm very satisfied with my hitch and the experience with Etrailer, Thanks Etrailer! 182288

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose in Gooseneck

Hitch seems to be built fairly well as far as the head and rail kit. The side plates for the frame are not even as thick as my frame rail. Didn't like that. Also a major turn off to this hitch, on my truck, a 2001 dodge 2500 short bed, the carriage bolts that hold the head to the rails, the heads hit the bed floor, enough to where the bed does not sit flush on the frame. 4 1 inch holes had to be drilled in the bed to let the bolt heads through. Also used a hare bigger hole saw than 3.5 to give some wiggle room. But the bolts hitting the floor needs to be addressed by draw tite. Wouldn't recommend for a dodge pickup 191838

The product arrived in about 2 days. When my husband opened it and went through the parts with the diagram he noticed that 2 carriage bolts were missing and had to go to Menard's to purchase them to complete the assembly. I sent an email about this matter to customer service. Other than that I was very pleased with the Draw-Tite hitch and ease of ordering and of course the free shipping! 638647

  • While there is a gooseneck hitch that will fit the 5-1/2' bed on your 2013 Toyota Tundra the Curt Double Lock # C60751 is not a fit.
