With the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch you get the best of both worlds. When you go to tow, the Turnoverball creates a sturdy, dependable connection with your gooseneck trailer. And when you're done towing, you can stow the ball upside down in the hitch to get full bed access and a clean appearance.

Easy-to-Remove, Simple-to-Store Hitch Ball

The durable steel hitch ball included with the Turnoverball system secures in the hitch with a sturdy, 5/8" thick steel pin that is incorporated into the end of the operating handle. To lock the ball in place, drop it into the hitch hole in the bed of your truck. Then rotate the handle in your driver's-side wheel well counterclockwise until the latch engages. When the latch is engaged, the spring-loaded pin on the end of the handle will be inserted all the way through the base of the hitch ball, forming a strong, solid connection and ensuring absolute security when you're towing.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Operation

When you're done towing, remove the hitch ball by simply pulling the handle out as far as it will go and then rotating it clockwise until it unlatches. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then reengage the latch to secure the stowed ball in place.

Unlike typical gooseneck balls - which have round bases - the Turnoverball hitch ball is designed with a square base. This makes latching the ball in the hitch easier because the base won't rotate inside of the hitch like a round base might, so lining the pin up is a snap. The base of the ball also fits tightly within the ball hole during storage. Because only the corners of the base contact the sides of the socket, any dirt or grime that gets into the hitch will fall through the socket, thus helping to prevent any buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.

Simple, Custom Installation

This hitch is custom designed for your vehicle. The included mounting brackets bolt to existing holes in your truck's frame. While some modification is required - you will need to cut a 4" diameter hole in your bed for the hitch ball and drill holes for the built-in safety chain loops - there is no need to weld onto or to drill into your frame.

Once you have the hitch brackets and body installed, set up the operating handle. This handle is designed to be accessed from the rear driver's-side wheel well. On the end of the handle is the heavy-duty steel pin that secures the hitch ball.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Accessories

B&W makes it easy to tow just about anything. With the many adapters and accessories available, the Turnoverball can be made to work with almost any gooseneck trailer. Hitch balls are available that have a built-in rise, an offset, and even a different connection type. Add on the Companion fifth-wheel hitch - which attaches directly to the Turnoverball with no other parts required - and you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer. Even a truck bed utility rack is available so that you can easily haul ladders and lumber with the load placed on the hitch (and therefore your truck's frame) instead of your bed rails.

Video Transcript for Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Installation - 2011 Dodge Ram Pickup

Speaker: Today on this 2011 Dodge Ram pickup we'll be installing the B & W Gooseneck Hitch, part number BWGNRK1313. Before we get into our install, we'll show you how the gooseneck assembly works. The balls in the lock position, so go ahead and pull it and twist it towards the front. We're going to go ahead and install our ball. Now we can also take your ball and store it upside down. Now when we lock it, pull back, twist it back down and let it slide back in.

When you store the hitch ball this way, if you ever load up your truck to the maximum you may want to remove this first. You don't want this hitting your differential, that's directly underneath. This gooseneck hitch can also be used for a BMW Companion Fifth Wheel hitch. Now I'll show you how the hitch is installed. The first thing we need to do, is get the truck ready to install our hitch. To make things easier, we'll get the spare tire out of the way.

We're going to remove the tires and wheels from the back axle. It makes getting access to the fasteners for the hitch a lot easily. Over here, we'll remove the internal panels in the fender liner. There are two fasteners holding them in on both the driver and passenger sides. We'll be using a screw driver to remove the fasteners.

We're done with our passenger side, let's go ahead and do the same thing on the driver's side. Now we'll remove the heat shield for the spare tire. Now we'll remove these three fasteners. To do that you have to get from the other side of the heat shield with an extension. The next thing we're going to do is lower the exhaust. This will make installing the gooseneck hitch easier.

First remove this rubber hanger here. We'll spray it down with some lubricant and pry it loose. To give us a little bit more leverage we'll use a block of wood to work against. Now we'll loosen this fastener going to the exhaust. At this point we'll move our exhaust out of our way. Next we're going to create some extra access to put our cross bars in. To do that, we're going to enlarge this hole. Basically we're just going to cut out the sheet metal just like that, we'll eye ball a triangle, and we should be good to go. Our next step is to and locate a hole to be drilled in the bed. We've got a bed liner to contend with. Before we do any cutting, we'll find our center line. We'll do this on the edge of the bed by the tailgate. Then we'll measure here back as described in the instructions. To make sure, we'll measure from the edge of the bed towards the front. Before we make the initial cut in the bed liner, we'll use a piece of wood to prop up the bed liner. That way we don't have to mark up the bed any more than we have to. We'll make a quarter inch pilot hole first, and then through our bed liner we'll do a three inch hole for starters. We'll take the timber out of the way. Now we'll double check our measurements. You can lay it on top, or possibly sneak it underneath. We'll make a mark for our length. Now we'll simply measure inside the edge of our ribs. We'll divide that in half. We're going to use a small one eighth drill bit for our starter hole. We're going to leave the drill bit sticking through for now. What I like to do next, is take one of the side plates, find it's correct location and just double check to get a good idea where the hole's going to be in relation to our plate, just to verify that it's in the right spot. We'll take our bracket and put it into place. According to instructions, it looks like it lines up with this hole here and if we lower it a little bit, we know our cross members will be on each side of the brackets. We take a look at our drill bit, it's all set towards the front. It looks like everything will match up. Let's go ahead and take our pilot hole and run it out to a quarter inch. Now we'll drill out to our final hole size, which will be four inches. We're just about ready to install our head assembly. First I like to clean the threads of the cross members by threading in the bolts a few times. This cleans out anything that may be in the threads of the cross members. Easier to do it now than when it's up in the truck. One thing to note, these bars have to go in a certain way. We want to make sure we have a threaded hole at the end of the bar faces up towards the head of the truck. We'll take our front cross member and put it into place first. We'll lay it in flat and then rotate it. Now we can work with our second cross member. We want this edge to be going towards the back of the truck. Pull that all the way to the other side, and we'll scoot it back a little bit. Eventually this bar will sit up like that when the hitch is installed. Pretty soon we're going to install the center section of our hitch. Before we do that, we'll show you how the hardware goes together, so it will be easier to see it now than underneath the truck. We're going to use our one and a half inch long bolt, flat washer. This side will actually go through the angle on the cross member, lock washer and nut. This will be the same across all three holes. On our front cross member, we'll use the same bolt, then a lock washer and a flat washer. Then it will thread into cross member. At this point it's good idea to get an extra set of hands to help hold up the center section of the hitch and put it into place, at least until we install our hardware. Let's work with our front cross member first, line up the hole and then thread in our hardware. Just enough to get it started and hold it's shape. It's a good idea to leave it some what loose so you can move it around. Rotate the cross member up. We'll line up our holes and install our hardware. Before we get too much farther, it's a good idea to make sure any wires or lines are out of the way and make sure we're not getting crushed. Let's start working on the side plates. On the driver's side, we have to do some modification, we need to remove this bolt. While we're here, we'll loosen up our bolt for our ground strap, just enough to move it around. The side plate has a cut out for the ground strap. Now we'll install some hardware to the inside of the frame. We're going to install some hardware to the inside of the frame. We're going to install our hardware through this hole right here. We're going to take our nice long bolt leader, comes with the kit. we'll run it through the hole and then down through the frame. Now we'll take our plate here, our block and we'll thread it on. Basically just thread it through and into the frame. Then we'll take our carriage bolt and thread into the bolt leader, pushing through the frame and pull through and out the hole. There will be some interference on the inside of the tube, but just rock it back and forth to get it to come through. Take your bolt leader and run it through the side plate, and then up to our bolt. We'll use that to help keep it in place. Then we'll move the plate around so it fits over our ground strap, then we'll hook up to our cross members. The hardware will be the same as we did on the cross members with the hitch head. Bolt, flat washer, lock washer and nut. Going towards the front bolt, flat washer, lock washer. We'll remove our bolt leader and install a lock washer and nut. Just enough to keep the shank where we can still move it around. Next we'll install our U bolt. This will go from the inside of the frame towards the outside. When we do this we want to make sure that any lines or wiring is out of the way before we install this, we don't want to crush it. We're just going to use a simple trim panel tool to pull these plastic rivets out of the way. We'll then put our clamp into place, then fasten into place with a lock washer and nut. At this point, we can reinstall our brake cable bracket. We'll line existing holes and we'll thread it back into place. Again, we're just going to leave this loose for now. Now we're done with our driver's side, let's repeat the same process over on our passenger side. That side will be a little bit less complicated. At this point, all of our hardware is installed for the hitch. We'll tighten down the center section and work our way out. It's also a good idea if you can, hold this up against the bottom of the bed to make sure it doesn't move around. To run this bolt, we're going to use a ratchet wrench. Now before we tighten down our fasteners for our frame bracket going to the frame, it's a good idea to measure out from the hat channel to this edge right here of the cross member. You can adjust the side brackets if necessary with a pry bar. Next we'll tighten down the fasteners for our side bracket that goes to the front. So our side plate's going nowhere, we'll tighten down our cross members to our frame brackets. At this point, we can torque down all our bolts and we'll use the same pattern as before. To tighten this bolt, we're going to take our pin, pull it out and pull it towards the back. This will keep it in place and we have just enough room in this case to get our torque bar into place. Now our U bolts will also need tightening one at a time. We'll hand tighten this bolt. Now we'll torque our cross members to our frame bracket. Now we'll tighten down our bolt for our ground. At this point, we'll take our wires underneath around our U bolt, we'll push them back into place. Now we'll install our handle. You want to take your handle, and run it through the opening here and you have to work our way to the outside. Then our loop will fit behind this tab right here. We'll take a bolt which comes with the kit, run it through the handle and onto the pin here, then we'll secure it with a lock nut. With our handle connected we'll try it out for operation. Go ahead and pull it out and twist it toward the front, and it should latch open. It looks like it does, rotate it back and it falls into place. Our handle's installed, let's go ahead and work on the U bolts. We'll use a half inch drill bit to mark our holes from underneath and then we'll use a quarter inch drill bit to drill from the bottom to the top. The holes we're going to use will be these two here. When we drill the holes out, we'll make sure that the bottom of the corrugation is sitting towards the hitch. That way we have our U bolt sitting as low as possible. Mark it with a half inch bit, now let's go back at it with our quarter inch bit. Now we also have a bed liner to go through too, so we'll slowly go through that. Then we'll drill out to our final hole size from the top down. We'll also cut out the bed liner as necessary to make room for the U bolts. We're actually going to use one size over and go with a nine sixteenth drill bit. We'll sneak this small piece of wood underneath the bed liner, and then we'll use a rotary tool to cut out the bed liner to make room for our U bolts. We'll take the U bolts and put them into place. Once we have them in place, we'll go underneath the truck and install the rest of our hardware. To install our hardware, we'll install a spring and a lock nut. Now we'll tighten down these nuts to our flusher threads or maybe one or two past. Go ahead and check for operation. At this point, our hitch is fully installed in our truck so basically we'll put our truck back together in reverse order. We'll put our exhaust up and our heat shield. We'll reinstall our side panels in the wheel wells. On our driver's side, we'll need to make sure we have access to our lever. If there isn't, we'll have to modify. In this case, we'll be using a utility knife. It's a good idea to start off small and then work your way up as needed to accommodate the lever. We'll reinstall our wheels and tires onto our axle and then the spare tire. For us, our tires and wheels back on, we're finished with our install of our gooseneck hitch, part number BWGNRK1313 on our 2011 Dodge Ram pickup, 3500 series crew cab. .

I ordered the turnover ball hitch for a 07 dodge and a couple of items online and received it in a couple of days which was great . The b&w hitch is fairly easy to install and took 2.5 hrs or so .the only problem I had was the inside frame bolts hanging up in the frame . After removing the bolts that hold the rubber travel stops to the frame they slid right thru . 184161

Ordered this 1313 for my 2004 Dodge 3500, converting from 5th wheel to gooseneck, but the trailer I ordered had a "reservation deadline" i.e. don't pick it up by this date and we sell it someone else...) so I needed the hitch right away, it arrived two days before expected and now I am ahead of schedule. Your online installation pictures and videos are excellent and helped me make my buying decision. Why buy from [other online retailer] when you can get it all here at etrailer with great support and fast service? Not to mention etrailer has everything I needed to make this gooseneck conversion happen. And ... The MOST important thing is everything I bought today is made in the USA! 494692

This is the second B&W hitch I have purchased and installed. You cant beat the quality and ease of installation. One person can do it, I have done it twice by tying a rope on the receiver and pulling it up through the hole in the bed and tying it off, holds it while you attach bolts. As good as a second pair of hands. As far as etrailer goes a flawless sale and great customer service like always. 185792

Good quality product, easy to install, and arrived on time. I installed the hitch Sunday afternoon and headed out Monday morning on a 500 mile round trip to pick up a skid steer and grader blade. The trailer and equipment weighed in at close to 20,000#. The hitch performed as it should and the ball didn't bind when I removed it after unloading like other brands I have seen. Overall great product and great service from e trailer. 136808

I used a 2 X 4 across the bed and a ratchet strap to hold the center piece in position until it could be bolted to the underbed supports. Fit and finish on the hitch is excellent. 510983

Product showed up on-time, in good shape and with all the parts necessary. Instructions were simple to follow and I'm really glad I tackled the project myself instead of having a truck shop install it-- Very easy to install. Only took about 3 hours, by myself, taking my time to measure twice and do it all correctly. 230497

The hitch was pretty straightforward on the install took about 3 hours with no lift. This is my second B&W hitch and I wouldnt trade it for another. My shipment was missing pieces due to UPS damaging the box but etrailer sent me another kit by the next day. I will continue to use etrailer, they have excellent customer service. 190298

Ask the Experts about this B and W Gooseneck
Do you have a question about this Gooseneck?

  • Availability of Just the Brackets of the B and W Turnoverball Hitch BWGNRK1313
  • For just the rails of the kit you referenced part # BWGNRK1313 you would want the part # BWGNRM1313 which comes with everything except the center section.

  • Solution for Removing a Frozen Ball in a B and W Turnover Gooseneck Hitch
  • I spoke to my contact at B and W and he said that when their hitch balls get frozen up in the hitches like the part # BWGNRK1313 the best solution is to let it soak for along time with penetrating oil like WD40 or PB blaster. He said the more penetrating oil the better, and letting it soak up to a week is your best option. In extreme cases he said that some people have removed the center section of the hitch and taken it to a machine shop to have them press it out.

  • Will the Gooseneck Hitch from a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Crew Cab Fit a Mega Cab Model
  • I do have the correct gooseneck hitch for your 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Cab but the gooseneck hitch for a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Crew Cab will not work. The hitch you have now is the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # BWGNRK1313 and the hitch you need is the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # BWGNRK1308 which is designed specifically for Mega Cab models but will also work on the other cabs as well. I have attached an install video of the correct...

  • Will Firestone Air Bags Interfere if I Install a B&W Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for a 2004 Dodge 2500
  • The side plates of the B&W gooseneck trailer hitch # BWGNRK1313 will mount on the outside of each frame rail of your 2004 Dodge 2500 8-foot bed. See the B&W video I included at the 7 min and 30 second mark. If your Firestone air bags like # F2299 (2WD or 4WD), are on the inside of the frame, then you won't have any interference. I added a couple pictures and helpful articles for you to look at too.

  • The B&W Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3500 is designed for an will only install into the B&W Turnoverball hitches. The Turnoverball hitch for your 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 with an 8 foot bed is # BWGNRK1313.

  • Is There Any Difference Between B&W BWGNRK1313-5W, and the BWGNRK1313 Installation Kits
  • There is no difference between the B&W Underbed Trailer Hitch part # BWGNRK1313 and part # BWGNRK1313-5W. The reason they are listed separately is because we want to make them easy to find for both gooseneck and fifth wheel searches. These are both capable of being used as a gooseneck hitch and also can be used with the Companion fifth wheel hitches. With your 2007 Ram 2500 and an 8 ft bed I recommend going with the B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter, part #...

  • Gooseneck Hitch Recommendation for a 2013 Ram 2500
  • Both the Draw Tite Hitch # 9464-57 and the B and W hitch # BWGNRK1313 that are confirmed for your 2013 Ram 2500 would be an excellent choice. The U-bolt install of the # 9464-57 would make the install simpler than having to fishwire installation bolts like the B and W. The U-bolts will be very secure as well. Since you mentioned twice that you did not like the idea of cutting a bigger hole in the bed I believe the # 9464-57 would be the better choice for you as well.

  • Recommended Gooseneck Hitch For 2005 Dodge Ram 2500
  • For your 2005 Ram 2500, I recommend the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs, # BWGNRK1313. This is a custom fit for your truck that will give you a gooseneck hitch that will keep your truck bed clean when not in use. If you want 5th wheel rails, I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50140-58. This is a custom fit system for your truck. • How to Tow a Gooseneck Trailer with a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel
  • We cannot recommend towing a gooseneck trailer with a Class IV trailer hitch and an adjustable ball mount because rear mounted trailer hitches are not designed to work with gooseneck trailers. Instead, you will have to install a gooseneck trailer hitch in the bed of your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 and use a gooseneck hitch ball. For your truck, as long as it is not a Mega Cab, I recommend the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1313 because it is a quality hitch and it is made here in...

  • If you have a 2013 Ram 2500 with a gas engine you would want the part # BWGNRK1308, if you instead had a diesel engine you would want the part # BWGNRK1313. • Comparison Of Gooseneck Hitches For 2012 Ram 2500 With 6 Ft Bed
  • I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite about the Hide-A-Goose hitches you asked about. Part # 9464-35 is actually rated higher in Towing capacity at 30,000 lbs than the # 9464-57. The head on the 9464-57 is rated at 30,000 lbs but the lower capacity is due to the construction of the installation rails included. My contact said the 9464-35 is constructed of stronger steel. The B and W Gooseneck, part # BWGNRK1313 is a great hitch as well. One note about the B and W is the shank on the...

  • It looks like the brackets on the B and W gooseneck trailer hitch # BWGNRK1313 fit on the outboard side of the frame rails on your 2013 Ram 2500. The brackets for the Firestone air bags, # F2299, install on the bottoms and inboard sides of the frame rails. This means there should be no interference and you can use both products. • Installation of a Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch on a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Quad Cab
  • The side plates of the gooseneck trailer hitch # BWGNRK1313 will mount on the outside of each frame rail. See diagram to the right and video (start it at 7 minutes and 30 seconds). You could choose to spring for a new suspension kit for your 2004 Dodge Ram pickup to avoid any issues. I recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 # AL57295 because they will mount underneath your frame rails. They will provide your Dodge Ram with up to 5,000 pounds of load-leveling support. Also, the brackets...

  • Best Option for B&W Gooseneck Hitch on 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab
  • I'd be happy to help you with that. The B&W Gooseneck Hitch you referenced, part # BWGNRK1313 does fit a 2010 Ram 2500, but it is NOT compatible with the Mega Cab model. You'll want to use the # BWGNRK1308 which IS compatible with Mega Cab models, regardless whether they have Gas or Diesel engines. If you don't have a trailer connector installed in your truck bed, you can install one using part # 41157. I've linked you to some installation videos that you might find helpful.

  • Goose Neck Hitch for 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Short Bed That Sits Closest to Rear Axle
  • We offer quite a few goose neck hitches for your 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 short bed and all can be seen on the link provided. I reviewed the installation instructions for most of these items and the hitch ball location stays within a fairly tight range of 44-inches to 46-inches from the rear edge of the truck's bed. The B and W # BWGNRK1313 that you referenced has its ball 45-1/2-inches from the rear edge. Among those with the smallest (44-inch) distance for ball placement are Reese # 8339-4435,...
