With the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch you get the best of both worlds. When you go to tow, the Turnoverball creates a sturdy, dependable connection with your gooseneck trailer. And when you're done towing, you can stow the ball upside down in the hitch to get full bed access and a clean appearance.

Easy-to-Remove, Simple-to-Store Hitch Ball

The durable steel hitch ball included with the Turnoverball system secures in the hitch with a sturdy, 5/8" thick steel pin that is incorporated into the end of the operating handle. To lock the ball in place, drop it into the hitch hole in the bed of your truck. Then rotate the handle in your driver's-side wheel well counterclockwise until the latch engages. When the latch is engaged, the spring-loaded pin on the end of the handle will be inserted all the way through the base of the hitch ball, forming a strong, solid connection and ensuring absolute security when you're towing.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Operation

When you're done towing, remove the hitch ball by simply pulling the handle out as far as it will go and then rotating it clockwise until it unlatches. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then reengage the latch to secure the stowed ball in place.

Unlike typical gooseneck balls - which have round bases - the Turnoverball hitch ball is designed with a square base. This makes latching the ball in the hitch easier because the base won't rotate inside of the hitch like a round base might, so lining the pin up is a snap. The base of the ball also fits tightly within the ball hole during storage. Because only the corners of the base contact the sides of the socket, any dirt or grime that gets into the hitch will fall through the socket, thus helping to prevent any buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.

Simple, Custom Installation

This hitch is custom designed for your vehicle. The included mounting brackets bolt to existing holes in your truck's frame. While some modification is required - you will need to cut a 4" diameter hole in your bed for the hitch ball and drill holes for the built-in safety chain loops - there is no need to weld onto or to drill into your frame.

Once you have the hitch brackets and body installed, set up the operating handle. This handle is designed to be accessed from the rear driver's-side wheel well. On the end of the handle is the heavy-duty steel pin that secures the hitch ball.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Accessories

B&W makes it easy to tow just about anything. With the many adapters and accessories available, the Turnoverball can be made to work with almost any gooseneck trailer. Hitch balls are available that have a built-in rise, an offset, and even a different connection type. Add on the Companion fifth-wheel hitch - which attaches directly to the Turnoverball with no other parts required - and you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer. Even a truck bed utility rack is available so that you can easily haul ladders and lumber with the load placed on the hitch (and therefore your truck's frame) instead of your bed rails.

Video Transcript for Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Ram 2500

Today on our 2012 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 Series, we're going to be installing the B and W Turnover Ball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer hitch, part number BWGNRK1308. Now before we begin our install, we'll go ahead and go over the operation of the hitch. Now, to use your gooseneck hitch, you simply slide the ball in and you release the handle so that it will locks in place. When you're done using the ball, you can pull the handle and release the locking mechanism, slide the ball out, flip it upside down, and you can lock the handle back into position, and the ball can stay in the stored position. You'll also notice here is our safety loops that we've put in, U bolts. Springs underneath allow it to come up, but yet, it keeps held 00:00:54 tight to the bed when not in use.

Now, we'll go ahead and begin our install. Now, we're going to first go ahead and remove both of the rear wheels as well as lower the spare tire down and get it out of the way. This will make things just a little bit easier on the installation. Next, we're going to need to go ahead and remove the plastic fender liner from each side of the vehicle. There are several screws that you'll need to remove, a couple in here in the middle as well as several around the wheel well itself. We'll go ahead over here on our passenger side and repeat the same process.

Next, we're going to go ahead over here on the passenger side wheel well, we'll need to make a triangular notch. We'll use this hole here that's part of it. We'll need just kind of mark out the area. We'll need to go ahead and remove this area right here and then we'll take either tin snips or cutoff wheel. Now in our case, we're just going to be using our rotary tool with a cutoff wheel. Now, we'll go ahead and measure out per the instructions from the rear of the bed, go ahead then and put a mark.

We'll then go ahead and find the center location between the wheel wells. Go ahead then and put a mark. We'll go ahead and first start with our pilot hole and then we'll use our hole saw to put the larger hole in the bed. Next, we're going to go ahead and we're going to remove this spare tire heat shield. We're going to make this a little bit easier.

Next, we're going to need to remove this ground here that's in the driver side wheel well from the frame. We'll be reattaching it later and there's a little plastic catcher inaudible 00:02:58 that holds it in the frame. You can either user trim panel removal tool or a large flat head screwdriver. We're going to go ahead and install the front 00:03:06 cross member first. It's the solid bar with the threaded holes and we're going to go ahead and you want to make sure that the end holes and the holes on the outside when rotated up into position will be like this, so that they're higher up on the bar or closest to the bed. We'll go ahead and take our cross member and we'll slide it across. Go ahead and rotate it up into position and making sure that this hole closest to the bed slide it up against our bed cross member. Next, we'll go ahead and put the rear cross member in. Now, when this one is tilted up into position, you want it to look like this so that the holes facing are on the front side towards the cab. Go ahead and use the notch that we cut in our edge of our bed here on the passenger side. Slide it back into position. Next, we'll go ahead inaudible 00:04:13 our cross members in. We'll go ahead and rotate it up into position. Now, it's a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you raise the center section up into position. As you raise it up into position, you'll go ahead and slide it over the exhaust and then slide it off in between the two rails. Now, let's go ahead and go over the hardware that we'll be using to attach the center section to the front rail. We'll be using a half-inch bolt, half-inch lock washer, and a half-inch flat washer that we'll thread in like this. Now, when installing hardware for the center section, we'll just get off hand-tight for now, so if we need to make any adjustments, we can. Once we have our hardware installed, we'll just go ahead and snug it up, but we won't completely tighten it down. The hardware for the three rear-mounting locations to attach the cross member to the center section, we'll be using this hardware: half-inch bolt, half-inch flat washer, go through the rear cross member. Into the center section, we'll then install a half-inch lock washer and a half-inch hex nut. Go ahead and repeat that same procedure for the other two mounting locations. Now before we can attach our side plate over here on the driver side, we'll need to remove this emergency brake cable bracket. Go ahead and take the screw out here and we can lower it down temporarily. Next, we're going to go ahead and take one of the pole wires that come with the kit. We'll take the coiled end of it to feed it through our hole right here. Feed it towards the rear of the vehicle, pull it out right here. First, go ahead and put our locking strap inaudible 00:06:20 coiled end. Go ahead and push that on up in there. We're going to feed our half-inch carriage bolt onto it, then go ahead and feed the carriage bolt into place. We pull on the pull wire and looks like that. Now, you want to leave this pull wire onto this carriage bolt for now. Go ahead and repeat the same process over on the passenger side. Now, we're ready to go ahead and install the side plates. We're going to being over here on the driver side. Take the end of our fish wire and feed it through this front bolt hole here, pull it on into place. Now with our side plate is up, we can go ahead and remove our bolt leader here. We'll then install a lock washer followed by a hex nut. Now for this location here connecting to the front cross rail: take a half-inch bolt, half-inch lock washer, and a half-inch flat washer. Go ahead and just snug them down for now. We will not tighten them. For the rear cross member, we'll be using our half-inch bolt. We'll then put a half-inch flat washer on followed by a half-inch lock washer and a half-inch hex nut. Go ahead and repeat the same process over on the passenger side. Next, we're going to need to remove this wiring bundle right here from the frame to allow our U bolt to slide in underneath it. We'll go ahead and just take our trim panel removal took or a large flat head screwdriver works as well. Work out the two little tabs that hold it in place. Now, we have enough room to slide our U bolt in. We can go ahead and take our U bolts here, slide it under. Once we have our U bolt into position, we make sure it slides through both of the holes on the side plate. Go ahead and put at least one tab back in. You can see they can't really reach the front tab, but we want to make sure that the wire is still nice and secure. Now for the hardware in each of our U bolts, we'll be using a half-inch lock washer and a half-inch nut. Go ahead and install on the other half of the U bolt and then we'll repeat the same process over on the passenger side. Now when installing your side plate, you may need to loosen up this ground wire here to move it around so that there's plenty of clearance so that it's not pinched by the side plate to the frame. Next, we're going to go ahead and reinstall the emergency brake cable bracket. Now, we'll go ahead and tighten down our center section bolts. The bolts that hold the center section to the front-rear cross member. Now once you have your center section bolts tightened down, before you do anything with the side plate bolts, we want to make sure that the hitch is square to the vehicle. We'll go ahead and take a couple of measurements with our tape measure just kind of make sure that we have the same distance on both side. If you don't, you may need to make some adjustments. We'll go ahead and check the other side to make sure that we're good. Next, we'll go ahead and tighten down our side plate bolts. When tightening the side plate bolts, you want to make sure that you tighten down the side plate to the frame first and then you'll tighten down the bolts from the side plate to each of the cross members. Next, we'll go ahead and torque all the hardware down to the manufacturer's specification, following the same order that we tighten them down. Next, we'll need to go ahead and install the handles, so we take the plastic end. We'll go ahead and slide it in place. We'll go 00:10:31 through the hole here on the center section. You want to make sure that the center pin is in this upright position here. And then the handle will slide to the back side of it, so that it's lined up like that. If it's not in that position, the latch mechanism may not work properly. We'll then take this supplied bolt go through the handle, back to the tab on the pin, and then you'll put the locking nut in place. With that done, you can go ahead and tighten things down. Now that our handle installed and there's the lock position, pull it out and rotate it up is the unlock position or unlatched position. Next, we're going to go ahead and drill out our U bolt, our safety cable U bolt hole. We'll be using this hole here and here on the passenger side and this one here and here on the driver side. We're going to drill a small pilot hole from the underside up into the bed. Then, we'll go into the bed and drill a half in hole back down through. We'll go ahead and take our U bolts here, drop them down in place, do that for both sides. We're going to go ahead and take a board here to set it on top of them, so that it gives it some weight so that when we put our spring and nut on underneath, it doesn't push them up out of the way. We'll go ahead and take one of our springs, slide it up into position. We'll take a half-inch lock nut, thread it on. Do that for the other half of the U bolt. We'll then go ahead and tighten it down, so that the bottom of the nut is flush right there. We'll go ahead and repeat the same process for the other U bolt. Now, we'll go ahead and reinstall our spare tire heat shield. Now, we're going to go ahead and mark our driver side fender well as we're going to need to make some clearance for the handle. Go ahead and mark our area that we're going to need to trim out and then we're going to use a rotary tool or you could use some pair of tin snips or even a razor knife to trim this out since it's just plastic. We're going to go ahead and use our rotary tool to trim out the area. Now, once we got out fender liner back up into position, we notice that when you pull the handle out, it was going to hit the edges. So we went ahead and trimmed a little bit more out here so that now there's plenty of room to operate the handle and not hit your hand. Now, we'll go ahead and reinstall each of the wheels. That will do it for our installation of the B and W Turnover Ball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, part number BWGNRK1308 on our 2012 Dodge Ram pickup 2500 Series. .

Install this heavy-duty hitch on your vehicle so that you can securely tow your gooseneck trailer. Store the removable ball upside down in the hitch when you aren't towing to get complete bed access. Square ball base won't turn in hitch.

Was a fairly easy install in both a Ram Mega Cab 3500 and a Ford F-350. Cutting the hole in the bed was the most intimidating part, but as long as you measure just as the directions tell you, it turns out seamless. This is the only way to go if you need a gooseneck hitch! 598954

B&W and Etrailer are a great combo. I just ordered this hitch after having a similar one in my 06 Ram. I really like the hitch. I also like that the companion fifth wheel and other B&W accessories can be used on both trucks. I just installed last night and by myself it took about 5 hours. Watch the video and read the instructions. Take your time and do the prep work to get ready for install. I didn’t remove the rear muffler portion and still had plenty of room. I did have a ceiling lift that helps center and lift the hitch portion through the hole. If you don’t have that make sure you have help. Fit as expected with minimal issue. I did not trim the wheel well plastic but may so the handle isn’t hidden. I installed hitch then replaced plastic bedliner and drilled hole through hitch opening from underneath. I also drilled the u-bolt holes with bedliner in and they fit perfectly between the rises. 498168

Purchased for my 2006 Ram MegaCab. I already owned a Companion sliding 5th wheel plate, so I only needed the plate to make it work on this truck. Great product, install was simple and required very little modification to the truck, only the bed floor needs to be cut. 699929

B&W is the best in the business.. this is my second B&W turnover and both were easy to install (took about an hour and half) and fit perfectly. Do yourself a favor and spray the ball socket with Fluid-Film or similar. Does two things... inhibits rust and also prevents ball from freezing in socket during snowy winter months. 606509

Excellent Product, all parts arrived on time, install went very easy with two people. Only thing I would recommend anyone buying this hitch for a Dodge Ram Mega Cab would be to go ahead and order either the 4-inch extender ball or the Extend-A-Goose Coupler. I order my new Coupler today from etrailer should be here Friday. 540186

Called customer service, actually spoke with a real person, Karen, and she verified the B&W hitch kit I needed. She gave email updates on my order. It arrived fast and in good condition. Installed B&W gooseneck hitch, holes did not line up as B&W states. I had to drill holes in the frame myself to continue installation. All else went well. Etrailer/Karen 5 stars and B/W 4 stars. 492495

Received turnover gooseneck hitch and tow & stow receiver hitch very timely. Installed turnover ball without any problems. The adjustable tow & stow works well on the various height trailers and farm implements that I use. This is the second turnover gooseneck I have purchased. One on Ford F-250 the other on Dodge 2500, instructions are great and parts are accurate. Well satisfied with B&W Products and your service at etrailer. Thanks 241992

Install was easy. Set aside a few hours for the install. Only one issue. Directions state crossmember must sit flush with the forward brace of the bed mounts. Found during the final tightening of the bolts, it is impossible to maintain the crossmember against the brace. This caused delay trying to maintain "no gap". The bolt holes in the frame make this "no gap" impossible. 220063

  • Will the Gooseneck Hitch from a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Crew Cab Fit a Mega Cab Model
  • I do have the correct gooseneck hitch for your 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Cab but the gooseneck hitch for a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Crew Cab will not work. If the exhaust portion that curves up to go over the axle of your truck does not come up higher than the frame members of your truck the Gooseneck Hitch part # BWGNRK1308 should fit and work just fine on your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab with 6 foot bed.

  • Will Demco Above Bed Rails Install with B&W Gooseneck Hitch on a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500
  • Since the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1308 uses the same mounting points for the brackets as any of the Demco above rail kits, like part # DM8552016-71, you would need to remove the B&W hitch to install the Demco rails. I do have an alternate solution for you though. Instead of removing your B&W gooseneck hitch I recommend going with the B&W Companion because it mounts directly into the gooseneck receiver that you currently have on your 2010 Dodge Ram 3500....

  • B and W Gooseneck Hitch Recommendation for a 2013 Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi Long Bed
  • If you have a 2013 Ram 2500 with a gas engine you would want the part # BWGNRK1308, if you instead had a diesel engine you would want the part # BWGNRK1313. I can't recommend you try to install the wrong hitch on the either vehicle style. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

  • Best Option for B&W Gooseneck Hitch on 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab
  • I'd be happy to help you with that. The B&W Gooseneck Hitch you referenced, part # BWGNRK1313 does fit a 2010 Ram 2500, but it is NOT compatible with the Mega Cab model. You'll want to use the # BWGNRK1308 which IS compatible with Mega Cab models, regardless whether they have Gas or Diesel engines. If you don't have a trailer connector installed in your truck bed, you can install one using part # 41157. I've linked you to some installation videos that you might find helpful.

  • How to Install the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch on a 2013 Dodge Ram 2500
  • To use the B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3500 in the bed of your 2013 Dodge Ram 2500 you will first need to have a B&W Gooseneck Hitch, like part # BWGNRK1313 or part # BWGNRK1308, installed on your truck. The Companion will simply drop into the gooseneck hitch ball receiver in whichever gooseneck hitch you have. This will put your 5th wheel hitch at the proper place of directly above or slightly forward (towards the cab) of your rear axle. The part...

  • How to Tow a Gooseneck Trailer with a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel
  • We cannot recommend towing a gooseneck trailer with a Class IV trailer hitch and an adjustable ball mount because rear mounted trailer hitches are not designed to work with gooseneck trailers. Instead, you will have to install a gooseneck trailer hitch in the bed of your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 and use a gooseneck hitch ball. For your truck, as long as it is not a Mega Cab, I recommend the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1313 because it is a quality hitch and it is made here in...

  • Will B&W Gooseneck Fit 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab with Firestone Ride-Rite Airbags
  • The B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1308 will fit your 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 with Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2299. Since the Ride-Rite # F2299 install on the inside of the frame and where the bump stop was located and the Turnoverball # BWGNRK1308 installs on the outside of the frame, they will not interfere with each other. I have attached an installation video of the B&W Turnoverball # BWGNRK1308 on a 2012 Ram 2500 for you.

  • Will the B&W Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1108 Fit a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 6 ft Bed
  • I do have a B&W Gooseneck hitch that will fit your 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 6 ft bed, but unfortunately the part # BWGNRK1108 for your 2000 Ford F-250 will not fit. Due to frame design you will need to go with part # BWGNRK1313 if your Ram 2500 does not have the Mega Cab, or part # BWGNRK1308 if it does have the Mega Cab. I recommend selling your current B&W Gooseneck hitch as a package with the F-250 or separately to help offset the cost of a new one. If you do not already have...

  • Will B&W Gooseneck Hitch from 2004 Ram 3500 Fit a 2010 Ram 2500
  • If the 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 has a diesel motor then both it and a 2004 Ram 3500 use the same B&W Turnover Ball Gooseneck trailer hitch, # BWGNRK1313. But if the 2010 has a gas motor then you would need # BWGNRK1308. I have linked videos showing example installations for both hitches for you.

  • You won't be able to install both a fifth wheel rail kit and a gooseneck hitch at the same time in your 2012 Dodge Ram 3500. But there are options for you. One is to use an adapter like the Andersen Rapid Hitch # AM3100 which installs on the fifth wheel trailer's king pin to make it connect to a gooseneck ball. Although, you should know depending on your pin box and trailer this style could void its warranty. If your gooseneck hitch happens to a be a B&W Turnoverball # BWGNRK1308...
