With the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch you get the best of both worlds. When you go to tow, the Turnoverball creates a sturdy, dependable connection with your gooseneck trailer. And when you're done towing, you can stow the ball upside down in the hitch to get full bed access and a clean appearance.

Easy-to-Remove, Simple-to-Store Hitch Ball

The durable steel hitch ball included with the Turnoverball system secures in the hitch with a sturdy, 5/8" thick steel pin that is incorporated into the end of the operating handle. To lock the ball in place, drop it into the hitch hole in the bed of your truck. Then rotate the handle in your driver's-side wheel well counterclockwise until the latch engages. When the latch is engaged, the spring-loaded pin on the end of the handle will be inserted all the way through the base of the hitch ball, forming a strong, solid connection and ensuring absolute security when you're towing.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Operation

When you're done towing, remove the hitch ball by simply pulling the handle out as far as it will go and then rotating it clockwise until it unlatches. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then reengage the latch to secure the stowed ball in place.

Unlike typical gooseneck balls - which have round bases - the Turnoverball hitch ball is designed with a square base. This makes latching the ball in the hitch easier because the base won't rotate inside of the hitch like a round base might, so lining the pin up is a snap. The base of the ball also fits tightly within the ball hole during storage. Because only the corners of the base contact the sides of the socket, any dirt or grime that gets into the hitch will fall through the socket, thus helping to prevent any buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.

Simple, Custom Installation

This hitch is custom designed for your vehicle. The included mounting brackets bolt to existing holes in your truck's frame. While some modification is required - you will need to cut a 4" diameter hole in your bed for the hitch ball and drill holes for the built-in safety chain loops - there is no need to weld onto or to drill into your frame.

Once you have the hitch brackets and body installed, set up the operating handle. This handle is designed to be accessed from the rear driver's-side wheel well. On the end of the handle is the heavy-duty steel pin that secures the hitch ball.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Accessories

B&W makes it easy to tow just about anything. With the many adapters and accessories available, the Turnoverball can be made to work with almost any gooseneck trailer. Hitch balls are available that have a built-in rise, an offset, and even a different connection type. Add on the Companion fifth-wheel hitch - which attaches directly to the Turnoverball with no other parts required - and you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer. Even a truck bed utility rack is available so that you can easily haul ladders and lumber with the load placed on the hitch (and therefore your truck's frame) instead of your bed rails.

Video Transcript for B and W Gooseneck - Below the Bed - BWGNRK1059 Review

Today we're going to review part number BWGNRK1059. This is the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with the Custom Installation Kit. This has a 30,000 pound weight capacity. For demonstration purposes, I do have the underbed Gooseneck hitch attached to the custom installation brackets. This is how it would appear under your vehicle. Being custom installation, it is designed to fit the 1999-2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, the heavy duty and the light duty, and the 2500 light duty trucks, either the short or the long bed. This heavy duty underbed hitch will let you tow your Gooseneck trailer.

If you pull the ball out, it will give you complete truck bed access when you're not towing. You can store the ball just by turning it over and dropping it back into the hole. Then you'll still have the full truck bed access. There is a locking pin that will lock this into place using this handle. This handle right here is accessible on the rear driver's side wheel well.

At the end of this handle, right in here, there is a 5/8-inch diameter spring-loaded steel locking pin that, when you twist this handle, it will release that pin and lock the ball into place. It goes all the way through there and secures it into place. To remove it, pull out on the handle, twist it, and it will lock it open and you can pull the ball out. If you'll notice, this is a single-piece machined ball socket. Provides rugged durability. Has a square ball base to prevent the ball from turning in the hitch during hook-up.

When you drop it in, being square, it will not rotate in the hitch. If you'll also notice, the corners are actually chamfered on this square piece. What that would allow is when you do put the ball in, either upright or stowing it, it will leave openings at the corners that a lot of the dirt or grime that builds up in it to fall out so it doesn't build up and prevent the ball from being stuck in there. The B&W Underbed Gooseneck Hitch is specifically designed for B&W accessories that we sell separately that will make it very easy to customize this hitch to fit your needs. One of the most popular accessories used on this is sometimes a person towing a Gooseneck might need a situation where they need to tow a fifth-wheel trailer. They do make a B&W companion fifth-wheel hitch adapter, which is basically a fifth-wheel hitch that would drop into your truck bed and it would install as a post that comes down the middle of the fifth-wheel hitch adapter.

Inserts into this, you lock it into place, and that way you'd have a fifth-wheel hitch on the back of your truck. If there's a situation where you need to tow a fifth-wheel trailer, that fifth-wheel hitch adapter works really good for that situation. If you notice, it has a the spring-loaded safety chain hookups that are built in right here. If you pull up on it, you can hook the safety chain. If you let it go, it will hold it into place. This is a very simple installation, comes with the included custom installation kit shown here and the hardware to install it. There is no welding required. The truck bed does not have to be removed for installation. You would have to cut a 4-inch diameter hole in your truck bed so you have access to this opening. You could drill four holes to have your spring-loaded safety chain hook-ups stick through also. This is all powder-coated steel, which is sturdy and corrosion resistant. The part is made in the USA. The gross towing weight capacity on this is 30,000 pounds. The vertical load limit, or pin weight capacity, is 7500 pounds. If you notice the Gooseneck ball on this Turnoverball is 2 5/16 in diameter. It does come with a limited lifetime warranty. If you're going to tow a Gooseneck trailer, you just drop the ball into place. If you notice, it has holes on all sides, so it doesn't matter any specific way, you just drop it in any way you want. Twist the handle and it will release the pin and that pin will lock it into place. You're ready to tow. When you're done and you want to store it, just pull this open, turn it to lock it open, take this--there's a little pin handle right here that you can hold on to drop it down, turn it over, drop it down into place. Release that pin to lock it into place. You're all ready to go. Very simple installation. That should do it for the review of part number BWGNRK1059, the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with the Custom Installation Kit. .

3 stars... Well the install was a bear!! There is a bolt no one tells you about right behind the locking pin you can not get to with a torque wrench. Also taking off the rear tires will make it easier to torque the outside plates to the frame. Other then that the directions were spot on and it looks great. Im just using this set up to use the B&W Companion sliding 5th wheel hitch. 672593

The hitch works great and installing the hitch wasn't bad at all even for just one person. The instructions were clear and the pictures they included were helpful. The only thing I had a problem with was one of the boxes were damaged and one of the small brackets were slightly bent, but I didn't need it anyways b/c it was for the diesel models and mine is a gas. I don't blame etrailer or B&W for that. Maybe B&W could use heavier boxes. All in all I had a good experience. etrailer.com was easy and great to buy from and B&W has a great product. 454700

So far I have been very happy with the B&W gooseneck ball hitch. I haven’t put a whole lot of milesuse on it but every time I use it with my gooseneck it preforms like it should. If I have any other needs trailer related I plan on giving your website a look first. Thanks and happy holidays!

B&W and Etrailer are a great combo. I just ordered this hitch after having a similar one in my 06 Ram. I really like the hitch. I also like that the companion fifth wheel and other B&W accessories can be used on both trucks. I just installed last night and by myself it took about 5 hours. Watch the video and read the instructions. Take your time and do the prep work to get ready for install. I didn’t remove the rear muffler portion and still had plenty of room. I did have a ceiling lift that helps center and lift the hitch portion through the hole. If you don’t have that make sure you have help. Fit as expected with minimal issue. I did not trim the wheel well plastic but may so the handle isn’t hidden. I installed hitch then replaced plastic bedliner and drilled hole through hitch opening from underneath. I also drilled the u-bolt holes with bedliner in and they fit perfectly between the rises. 498168

This was my Second Hitch to order from etrailer. The first was on my 2012 Ford Transit Connect. This time was on my newly purchased 2008 Ford F250 Super Duty Diesel truck. It did not have the Goosneck Hitch and I have Horses and use a Trailer to transport them. Instead of paying Much More to have the hitch put in, I elected to do it myself. I looked at the Video and read the instructions Twice before starting. Since I am almost 75, I need the help of my son. While he was at work, I did most of the work myself. When he got off work, we finished the job. I will continue to purchase from etrailer. The items fit Perfectly and instructions are Great. In the picture, is Sophie, my dog which watched as we worked. 405070

Great product and instructions were easy to follow. Prompt shipping and hitch delivered in secure boxes with no issues. Clean install in my Ford F-350 dually. It took about 6 hours (taking my time) doing it myself with a floor jack and the necessary tools. Could be done a lot faster with two people. Also, just cut the notch (you'll see what I'm talking about in the instructions), but not according to the measurements given. Use the cross member as a cutting guide. It will make the install a lot easier. etrailer is awesome! 403541

I purchased the B & W turnover ball hitch from E Trailer for my 2006 Ford F250 SuperDuty. Jan in customer service was very helpful. I received the hitch within 2 days. My wife and I installed it according to the instructions and installation video on their website. E trailer really did their homework on the installation of their hitches. We got the hitch insatlled with minimal problems. All you have to do is follow the video/instuctions. I am very pleased with the hitch and would recommend ETrailer and the B&W hitch to anyone who tows. I tow a 5th wheel with a Ranch Hitch Gooseneck adapter. Now I dont have to deal with the 5th wheel hitch in the bed of my truck. I will continue to purchase other towing accessories from ETrailer. A wonderful experience. 163592

Was a fairly easy install in both a Ram Mega Cab 3500 and a Ford F-350. Cutting the hole in the bed was the most intimidating part, but as long as you measure just as the directions tell you, it turns out seamless. This is the only way to go if you need a gooseneck hitch! 598954

It took me a while to get this hitch installed because there were after market airbag suspension supports that were in the way. After I removed them the installation went a bit smoother. The B&W instructions were so light, I was glad to had the opportunity to view the etrailer.com resource video and other helpful informaiton in determining the rear airbag support could be removed without causing a structural issue to the truck. So if you got these airbags install, know that they can be removed so you can take advantage of this high quality hitching system. I used impact wrenches to loosen the old and install the new bolts... made life a lot easier than with the standard wrenches, so worth the price i invested in the right tools for the job. 405136

The hitch and controller was installed on a 2002 Chevy 2500HD. It took roughly 15 min to install the Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller, plug it in and program it. As far as the B&W Turnover Ball Hitch, I cut the hole in the bed and cut the heat shield out the day before while I was waiting for the hitch to arrive. The next day my parts arrived, I laid out all the parts to make sure everything was there and then started the install. I didn't want to cut the 1"x1/2" notch out of my fender well to get the angle iron in so I spent about 15 min. trying to get it up on top the frame from underneath the truck. A waste of time. Do like the instructions say, cut the notch and slide it straight across the top of the frame. It will save time and aggravation. After getting both braces in place I ran a piece of rope down thru the hole and pulled the hitch plate up into place and tied it off. I installed all the bolts finger tight, put the side plates on and tightened everything up. It looks nice and I saved myself a $435.00 installation fee. With out a lift and without taking my rear tires off it took about 3 1/2 hrs. to install by myself. The only thing I want to say to B&W is don't place the heavy metal hitch parts on the booklet with the packets of Lithium Grease in it, they bust as the picture shows. Last but not least, thank you Sherry for all your help with my order and getting it to me quick in such short notice. I really appreciated it. 358380

How good is free shipping, our Order was placed about 8pm est on Thursday Jan 19th, and arrived Jan 25th before I returned from work at 4pm. Just sold the F-150 I installed the previous B&W fifth wheel hide a ball hitch in. Love this hitch set up, after arriving at a campground and unhooking the camper I have FULL use of the truck bed. Install of round two begins in the morning, directions are simple and easy to understand. George J from E-trailer has been keeping me updated with information about my delivery status and made himself available had I had any questions. Wife and I have been camping for about four years, on our second RV and now our third truck and have been totally satisfied ordering everything we needed from E-trailer over that time, (about 18-20 orders to date) adding to the great products E-trailer provides is the HOW TO DIY videos on many products. 335458

Quality product. Install is relatively easy with the exception of the safety chain holes. It's pretty impossible to maneuver a drill from underneath with the exhaust pipe in the way. Before installing, I made a plywood template of the 4 inch hole and safety chain holes. I was then able to drill the holes from the bed. It made it easy. 364613

Review from a similar B and W Turnoverball in Gooseneck

The E-trailer videos and instuctions are great! I would suggest going ahead and removing the spare tire heat shield to make life easier with the torque wrench and when drilling the safety chain holes. The other item I am glad I caught before installing my hitch is the size of the hole they want you to use. B&W suggest a 3-1/2" hole and provide a plastic spacer to kinda hide the gap, I didn't like the idea of how this was going to look. I still installed the plastic spacer to support the bed around the hole, but I used a 3-1/4" hole saw and very lightly filed the edges for a much better fit. (Just make sure you hit your pilot hole location.) Test fit the hitch from the top side when checking the hole size. When installing, tighten the bolts to where the hitch just starts to make contact with the frame and then go top side and check hitch/hole alignment. Tap the hitch around with a mallet if you need to line it up with the hole. (Once the hitch was tight it didn't protrude through the bed anyways, so the hole could have been small and still worked). After removing the exhaust hanger, I used a ratchet strap to pull the tail pipe towards the spring to allow access to drill the passenger side safety hook holes. Another tip, I used a piece of rope tied to the ball retaining pin and fed it up through the hole in the bed. My 11 year old son was able to hold it in place this way while I started the bolts. I am happy with the end results and it looks great! The one thing I feel could be better is how far the ball retaining pin protrudes into the second side of the hitch housing, on mine I only have about 1/4" into the second side. I would feel better with 3/8"-1/2" engagement. 302603

Great hitch and like it. Until I used the drop in fifth wheel plate by B&W (RVK3500). There is a bolt u have tighten up to secure the hitch down. When I tightened it to 60 foot pounds it bent the main pin in the hitch. After fighting the pin to release now the pin is bent. And i cant use the gooseneck ball. And I can't remove the pin to replace it unless I remove the hitch. So long story short the gooseneck plate is good and works great as a gooseneck. But don't buy it planning to use the fifth wheel plate. Won't buy that again. 491492

Comments

After speaking with one of our contacts in the Tech Services department at B and W and was told that really the only way the ball retention pin can get bent is if its not slid fully into place when that draw-down bolt is torqued down. Please call us if you have further questions.

Installation was done by myself in 3/4 of a day. It works as it should and is nice having a true hideaway, YOU DO NOT have to lift the bed for this installation. Doing so would be much more difficult. Follow the instructional videos and directions for install and you will have zero issues. 515509

Had similar hitch in my Dodge 2500 for towing a 3-horse horse trailer. I liked it so when I decided to put a gooseneck hitch in my 2002 Ford F250 Super Duty 4WD I went with B&W again. I have used etrailer before; liked their support and could't find a better deal. Installation instructions were clear and an online video of installation on a 2003 Ford was much like mine. Gave me all the confidence I needed for a DIY install. I my case I didn't have a rack which would have made life easier. I had all the tools and did the job without needing to cut the bed ridge and without removing the rear tires or dropping the spare (couldn't find the $#@! jack handle that fits the mechanism). It took about 3 hours. With a rack and no tires it'd get done in under 2 hours for sure. 544034

This is a high quality, basically bolt in product that fits well and has all ample hardware. The video is priceless and must be watched since it answers many questions otherwise. Spare tire removal is basically mandatory but we did leave rear wheels on. Only a problem when torqueing the side frame bolts. Exhaust is problematic at least for the Duramax. We did loosen some rubber hangers and with 2 people, were able to pull down on the exhaust to slip the center section in. The answer to the drilling for passenger side safety chain hooks is correct. Due to the exhaust pipe, you either punch a small drill hole at an angle from the bottom and enlarge it from the top or measure from the top only (less accurate). We drilled from bottom and enlarged it, which was perfect. Drilling a 4" hole in the bed of a brand new truck is scariest part! Measure twice, cut once, be accurate and with a spray in bed liner, its almost the exact same rear measurement (mine was tight getting the center section through the bed after allowing for the spray in product about 1/8"). Otherwise drill a 4 1/8" or 4 1/4" hole. On GM, the center (width about 25 1/2") is centered on the middle bed high slot, not the lower one. Also, shipping, emails, communications etc. were all outstanding. 330727

Review from a similar B and W Turnoverball in Gooseneck

I installed this yesterday, along with the Companion 5th Wheel Hitch. Very good instructions, well written, great illustrations. Everything fit perfectly, no struggles with alignment. Very good hardware. Looks to be very sturdily built, the welds looks great. One thing to look out for - on my 2016 Chev 3500 anyway, the exhaust is in the way of drilling the passenger side retractable chain hook holes. You will need an angle drill or drill with a flexible extension cable. Or get your steel rule out and do some serious measuring like I did and drill the holes from the top down. I drilled the accessible driver's side, then transposed those measurements to the passenger side and drilled from the top using a small drill. After hitting the hole, I used progressively larger drills until I found the edge of the 1/2" hole in the center plate, then hogged out the hole the rest of the way with a Dremel grinder. Not a big deal, just had to get a little creative. Over all, excellent experience, from the purchase, the help from customer service (fantastic people!), fast delivery and easy install. Highly recommended! 293451

The customer service from eTrailer is top notch. I ordered my B&W 1067 the day before New Year's Eve. I had it within 5 days including the holiday and weekend. The B&W 1067 installed pretty easy. I did it myself in about 3 hours. I was lucky that my truck previously had a B&W 1067 installed so I didn't have to drill any holes. The only complaint that I have is I was short 2 bolts in the hardware bag. I didn't worry with calling eTrailer; I just went and bought new ones. 167940

Easy to follow assembly instructions. Had a harder time getting the Ford/Reese gooseneck out. In my case it was a new 2017 F350 and I wanted to use my new companion fifth wheel hitch system. Product cost was more than the BW gooseneck I put on my F450. 420782

I ordered this hitch a year ago, customer service called me to verify the model of my truck and installed my self on a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500hd classic the hitch by far has been the best hitch I’ve owned. I have a 32 foot gosseneck I pull and it’s easy to hook up and holds the weight. The springs on the safety chains still work like it’s new and the best part is if I just need the bed I can pull the pin and filp the ball and have the whole bed 546170

B&W goose neck hitch is wonderful, need to people to make installation easier. Mine is in a short WB Q cab ram with tool box. no problems pulling equipment or hay trailers. Not the first one I had installed so I cut a small notch to slide the bracket through, makes it much easier. Hope photo shows where I cut, does not wreaking bed structure. Don't settle for cheaper go with QUALITY, best price I found was etrailer. 516470

Review from a similar B and W Turnoverball in Gooseneck

etrailer not only have a great procedure for online trading or online store, but also a great website....people on similar business can appreciate that as per other this feature can be transparent for them...it takes a great effort of team work to accomplish what this level of a,b,c,d online process to be done the way of etrailer has done. The products are simply well described, well packed, fast shipping. Whether is in stock or direct ship from manufacture, they make it look like is nothing..to me another great team effort and well though software architecture. As often we find instructions from manufacture to be some confusing, etrailer back it up which bunch of literature and videos to easy the process. Device recommendations: I strongly recommend that anyone purchasing this item to purchase also the harness kit, installation is plug and play and it looks part of another factory install. Cons: The part where every instruction or videos said "remove the clamp of the exhaust pipe to move exhaust pipe over" I found that is extremely difficult to accomplish that procedure on a 2014 3500 Ram with a Diesel Engine which it has the extra exhaust regeneration device or so call DPF...where fuel exhaust particles are burn, etc. that makes my vehicle exhaust to be solid almost one foot before reaching my rear end axle, meaning location where I need to be working installing my under bed gooseneck hitch. I did not removed any exhaust clamps and I simply got me a short 22 mm and tight my bolts with a wrench and a hammer. NOTE: ABS harness bracket it looks like is going to be rubbing against the hitch and it is extremely close, but it does not once bolts are tight you will have about 1/2 clearance (will not rub). Last comments, everything fits and everything goes where is says instructions, do not remove your bed of cut your truck in half..jejejejej Good luck, hope I help someone God Bless 174729

I ordered the turnover ball hitch for a 07 dodge and a couple of items online and received it in a couple of days which was great . The b&w hitch is fairly easy to install and took 2.5 hrs or so .the only problem I had was the inside frame bolts hanging up in the frame . After removing the bolts that hold the rubber travel stops to the frame they slid right thru . 184161

  • Your 2000 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed was a year of transition in body style and strength, so I confirmed with the manufacturer you will want the # BWGNRK1059 if you have the tube frame changing to C-channel before the axle or the # BWGNRK1050 if you have the full C-channel frame. A quick look underneath will give you a clear understanding of what frame style you have and which of these two options will fit your truck.
