Today we're gonna take a look at this Reese Max Duty Removable Above Bed Gooseneck Hitch with the Custom Installation Kit for the Chevrolet and GMC half-ton trucks. This has a 14,000 pound weight capacity. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2020 and newer Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks.

Now, we mentioned this is an easy to mount, easy to remove above bed gooseneck trailer hitch. It latches onto the pucks, you can see here on the included custom fit under bed mounting system to let you tow your light duty gooseneck trailer. The ball size is the standard gooseneck ball size of two and five sixteenths inches. And as we mentioned, by opening these latches, this can also be easily removed when you're not towing to give you a nice, clean truck bed.

The wide platform design ensures a nice, stable mount, and the under bed mounting system allows for easy removal of the hitch and leaves your truck bed free for hauling. Now, I did want to zoom in and show you how this installs and removes. Basically, I'm gonna show you one side, but you'll do this on both sides. So what you'll do to go to install it, you'll take out your linchpin right here, open your latches, and when you open those a quarter of a turn just like that, they'll unlatch from the under bed mounting system. And as I said, you'll do the same over here on this side, and then you'll be able to pull it right out of here and all the remaining parts under here is gonna be under the bed.

And then when you go to install it, you'll open these up, again, a quarter of a turn to open up the tabs, drop it into the pucks in the under bed system, and then just rotate your latches back like that. Take your linchpin, put it in, clip it close, and it keeps the handles in there. And then you're locked into place ready to tow. Now, these pucks on this under bed system here will also accept the Reese M5 fifth wheel hitch. If you decide you need to tow a fifth wheel instead of a gooseneck, this will allow the Reese M5 fifth wheel hitch to install into these pucks.

That hitch we do sell separately. It's part number RP72VR. And I just wanna pop up an insert to show you what that hitch looks like, the fifth wheel hitch. Now, this does also have, if you notice on the sides here, these are built-in safety chain brackets, which will also double as handles for simple positioning and removal of the hitch when you unlatch it. Now, this is a simple custom installation. There's no welding and minimal drilling required. It comes with a full set of instructions. These parts have a sturdy powder-coated steel construction. Gross towing capacity, again, is 14,000 pounds. Vertical load limit is 2,800 pounds.
