Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch Operation

Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Operation

The Curt Double Lock underbed gooseneck trailer hitch provides a sturdy, secure connection for towing your gooseneck trailer and also allows for a clean, unobtrusive look for your truck bed when you aren't towing. To tow, simply pull the included handle out to unlock the hitch. Then insert the chrome-plated hitch ball into the ball hole. You may need to rotate the ball to line it up with the dual locking pins. When the ball drops into place, rotate the handle counterclockwise until the locking pins snap into position. Because there are 2 locking pins instead of 1, you get extra security for your towing setup.

Get full bed access when you're not towing. Just remove the ball, flip it upside down, drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch, and use the handle to lock the ball in place. A rubber cover is included with the Double Lock. When the ball is stowed upside down in the hitch, place this cover over the ball hole to keep out dirt and grime and create a clean look for your vehicle.

I had this installed on my 1997 F350. I was too busy to install myself, so I can't speak to the ease of installation, but functionally this hitch is awesome. One word of warning, make sure you spray everything down before winter. I broke off the little tab on the ball when trying to flip it over when it was frozen.

This hitch is well made and the installation went easily. It mounted exactly to existing frame holes and has worked "without a hitch" pun inteded, since install. I would recommend this for anyone needing a high quality gooseneck hitch!

1995 Ford F-350 Super Duty

I ordered this underbed gooseneck hitch for our newly purchased 1995 Ford F350 dually. It is exactly what I wanted, I had my mechanic install it and the only problem was that since this is an older truck the bed was not quite flat, when the ball is flipped to the down position it hits the sway bar. This is not a problem, we will just carry the ball inside the truck with the cap over the hole unless we are pulling something. I got this to go with an Anderson Ultimate 5th wheel connection - gooseneck mount. We will now be able to pull the 5th wheel travel trailer, the gooseneck stock trailer or the bumper pull 2 horse trailer with 1 vehicle and no problems. Thanks to etrailer for the super service and fast delivery. Sorry no pictures yet. I would definitely recommend this.

Shipping was fast. Excellent customer service. Pleased with the build quality and simplicity of the kit. Instructions were very clear and understandable. The features work great. The other reviews leading to my purchase were accurate. I would purchase this again. I long term store the the ball attachment separately in a plastic container in my truck tool box so that I don't have to re grease it every time.

Hitch showed up sooner than I anticipated. Install was straight forward, everything went together extremely easily. Fit finish, and level of craftsmanship was top quality, install took about 2.5 hours in my driveway, with basic hand tools. Absolutely outstanding American made product, made sold and serviced in the USA. I really believe the top quality finish and engineering of this hitch made it install so easily.

my son helped install on my 97 ford f250hd , everything went well, instructions are awsome. has anyone ever been conserned about the ball in storage contacting the axle differental if axle would go to overloads. looks like it could be close to contacting speed sensor. may just put ball in toolbox for storage to be safe, otherwise i think it is a great product so far

Installed this on my 1997 F250 7.3. Installation was very simple, just bolt into the existing bolt holes in the frame and good to go. I like the simplicity of removing the ball to have a functional bed. Haven't pulled anything yet but so far, I like it!

Review from a similar Double Lock in Gooseneck Hitch

Thank you for reaching out. Definitely love the reliability and durability of this hitch, also the added clearance. I have it mounted on my 40 foot enclosed race car trailer. We towed using it 35 to 40 times to and from race tracks in 2019. Hooking it up and disconnecting it every weekend. Never gave us a single issue.

Review from a similar Double Lock in Gooseneck Hitch

Installed easily on 2015 GMC 2500 HD double cab short bed. Plenty of clearance under the bed when ball is flipped. This system makes for a clean useable bed. When I was purchasing this I was concerned about clearance of a gooseneck hitch and my transfer tank. I have a 40 gal tank that sits back from the cab a bit over 20 inches, there’s plenty of clearance for a gooseneck with a fuel tank on this short bed. The hitch has held up perfectly over the last year. I haul around 12k on steep, washboard, gravel roads.

Review from a similar Double Lock in Gooseneck Hitch

I did the install myself on a 2019 GMC 2500 Short bed. I watched several videos before. I did not remove either mud shield or cut out/remove the heat shield. I chose not to install the chain holders since my Andersen Hitch has it's own tiedown bracket. My bed has a spray liner and therefore the edge covering would not fit the newly cut edges around the hole opening. So be sure to paint the exposed metal. In one of thg he videos a tech use a predrilled board as a guide during the drilling of the bed hole. This was a great idea. Since I chose to keep the heat shield installed I had to lift the main unit into place by sliding it up between the gas tank and rear differential unit. I think it would have been very helpful to have a tools required list before I started. Also, the tip about cleaning out the powdercoated threads was very good idea. Preptime, tapping threads, install and cleanup (tool put away) was over 6hrs....and I skipped a lot of disassembling a n.v d reassemble steps. Everything was straight forward and understandable. A lift would have been great but I used rear ramps which was enough. Make sure you get a step ladder for bed entry now. I expect it to work as expected. Seems very solid!

Review from a similar Double Lock in Gooseneck Hitch

Great product and perfect fit for my 2005 GMC Sierra duramax. I just purchased a Montana fifth wheel and wanted to still be able to use the bed of the truck without taking a heavy hitch in and out and breaking my back. The hitch arrived really fast and the boxes were in pretty good shape and I was only missing one washer from a torn parts bag. I was able to install the hitch that weekend with help of the directions and how to YouTube video. The only issue I had was that the video stated the crossbar with the notch went to the rear while the directions showed it going to the front. It definitely goes to the front and was pretty obvious when installing it. I didn’t have any real issues with the install and it looks great and hides away nicely leaving a clean flat bed. I look forward to hauling my fifth wheel real soon.

Review from a similar Double Lock in Gooseneck Hitch

The product fits well. I didn't care for the packaging, as it came to my place with the box completely wrapped in packing tape to keep the contents from falling out. The box was destroyed. My hardware for the installation was missing one bolt and the bag was ripped open with the hardware floating around in a ripped up box. I wish the instructions were more clear for a gas trucks, not just diesel. I figured it out and installed it in about 4-5hrs in my driveway.

Comments
I apologize for the damaged package and missing hardware. Customer Service will reach out to you.

  • Gooseneck Hitch Recommendation for a 1995 Ford F-350 Long Bed
Draw Tite doesn't have a gooseneck rail kit for your 1995 Ford F-350 so you would have to go with an all new gooseneck hitch for your truck. The Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # C60723 has been confirmed as a fit for your truck and would work well for you. For a 7-way to install in the bed of your truck to make connecting your trailer lights easier you would want the part # 41157. Most 7-ways will be at the rear of the truck near the bumper which doesn't...

Frame widths for determining if a hitch will fit a truck are measured from outside to outside. Most likely you measured inside to inside and got 36 inch but you should still check. Also, 34 inch frames are almost always cab and chassis trucks which it doesn't sound like you have. If you do not have the 34 inch frame the Curt hitch part # C60723 is going to fit and work well.

The issue you are going to run into when towing a 5th wheel trailer with a short bed truck regardless of whether or not you are using a gooseneck adapter is cab clearance. In order to execute a full 90 degree turn you will need to have a certain amount of clearance between the cab of your truck and the loft of the trailer which is simply not sufficient when using a short bed truck without a sliding 5th wheel hitch or rotating pin box in certain cases. In order to recommend the correct...

You can install the Curt Double Lock Underbed Gooseneck Hitch w/ Installation Kit # C60723 in your 1993 Ford F-250 without removing the truck bed. The majority of the installation involves mounting the brackets to the frame and that is done from underneath the truck. No, the Air Lift frame brackets are in the location on the truck frame that the gooseneck hitch frame brackets need. This is going to be the case for any of the gooseneck trailer hitches for your 1995 Ford F-350. You could replace the air bags with a different helper spring system.
