Swapping out your hitch ball has never been easier with the Reese Elite Series Pop-In Ball Kit. Designed for GM trucks, the pop-in mechanism ensures the ball fits securely, yet is hassle-free to insert and remove. Its built-in ball bearing locking system simplifies the process further, so you can focus more on your journey and less on the setup.
When you're towing big, trust in the Reese Elite Series. Rated for a massive 30,000 lbs gross towing weight, this hitch ball is built to handle the heaviest loads. Whether you're hauling a large camper or hefty equipment, feel confident knowing your setup is up to the challenge.
This isn't just any hitch ball—it's specifically crafted for the factory-installed underbed gooseneck hitches in GM trucks. It snugly integrates with the OEM rail system, ensuring a perfect fit that reduces hassle and simplifies your towing experience.
Say goodbye to debris-filled hitch holes with the included rubber ball cover. When the ball is not in use, this cover protects the opening from dirt and grime. Plus, the storage bag keeps your hitch ball in mint condition, ready for the next adventure whenever you are.
Safety should never be an afterthought. That's why this kit comes equipped with two integrated safety chain hooks. They attach directly to the underbed rails, providing an extra layer of security when towing, so you can hit the road with peace of mind.
Not towing? No problem. The hitch ball is removable and designed to store conveniently in your truck. This thoughtful feature helps maintain a clean truck bed when the hitch isn't needed, all while ensuring the ball is ready for action whenever required.

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Reese Pop-In Ball Kit for factory-prep packages here on a 2020 Chevrolet, Silverado, 2,500. So here's everything we're gonna get with our kit, starting with the most important part, which is the hitch ball. This is a 2 and 5/16th inch hitch ball. This is the most common size and more than likely the one you're gonna need. Now, in addition to this we're gonna get our safety chain anchors here. So this is gonna allow us to hook up our safety chains coming from our trailer which are a legal requirement.
Provides a nice connection point for that. We're gonna get a nice little rubber plug here, for the gooseneck, hitch ball opening while we're not towing and we don't have the hitch ball in. And this is gonna help protect that area in there. That way we don't get any water in there letting rust form, possibly giving issues, getting our ball in or out. And then finally we're gonna get a nice handy storage bag here.
So this is a padded case with a handle. So we're gonna be able to put everything in here when we're not using it, so we can keep track of it, and then just throw it under the back seat of your vehicle or somewhere inside the cab for when you need it. So in regards to the weight capacity here, our hitch ball is gonna be rated at 30,000 pounds. So you shouldn't ever have to worry about maxing this out because your truck obviously isn't even rated that high. So no matter what, you're not gonna have any issues here with weight capacity with this hitch ball.
So in regards to durability, our safety chain anchors here, these are gonna be a nice powder coated steel. So they're definitely gonna hold up well, they're gonna protect that metal underneath from rust and corrosion. And the same thing goes with our hitch ball here. We have a nice plated surface here, a nice durable coating that's gonna protect that metal underneath. Now I do recommend using some grease on your hitch ball here just to help.
It's really more for the coupler than it actually is for the hitch ball but just to keep everything nice and smooth. And also a big thing with these kits, I really recommend taking your hitch ball out when you're not using it unless you have a toggle cover. No matter how good or how quality the hitch ball is, if you leave these things in the truck bed due to the elements and everything, the rain gets in there, the dirt gets in there, sand gets in there, it really makes these things very hard to remove. I can't tell you how many times I've seen these stuck and it has nothing to do with the quality of the hitch ball. It's all about the elements. So when you're not using it, take the hitch ball out, put it in your storage case and save yourself a headache. So like our hitch ball, our safety chain anchors are also very easy to use and install and remove. We just simply pull up on the center section here and rotate over and out. So we can do that in either direction. In order to install it, it's actually just gonna open that for us, rotate it, and then it'll drop down, lock back into place. So this isn't the only drop in ball kit for this truck. There are some other options out there from Curt and B&W. And although I do like those, the B&W one has a bulky handle that could get in the way of some accessories. It adds a little bit more weight and clunk to your overall setup. The Curt one is good too, but the latching mechanism is only a half latch there. It's just kind of one that you just flip up with your fingertip there, and that does still work but I like the positive engagement of both sides from this Reese one. So no matter which one you guys go with, I'm sure you're gonna be happy. I like the Reese one here just a little bit more, though. And that's pretty much gonna do it today for our installation of the Reese Pop-In Ball Kit for factory-prep packages here on a 2020 Chevrolet, Silverado 2,500..
easy to order and fast on the delivery.
