With the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch you get the best of both worlds. When you go to tow, the Turnoverball creates a sturdy, dependable connection with your gooseneck trailer. And when you're done towing, you can stow the ball upside down in the hitch to get full bed access and a clean appearance.

Easy-to-Remove, Simple-to-Store Hitch Ball

The durable steel hitch ball included with the Turnoverball system secures in the hitch with a sturdy, 5/8" thick steel pin that is incorporated into the end of the operating handle. To lock the ball in place, drop it into the hitch hole in the bed of your truck. Then rotate the handle in your driver's-side wheel well counterclockwise until the latch engages. When the latch is engaged, the spring-loaded pin on the end of the handle will be inserted all the way through the base of the hitch ball, forming a strong, solid connection and ensuring absolute security when you're towing.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Operation

When you're done towing, remove the hitch ball by simply pulling the handle out as far as it will go and then rotating it clockwise until it unlatches. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then reengage the latch to secure the stowed ball in place.

Unlike typical gooseneck balls - which have round bases - the Turnoverball hitch ball is designed with a square base. This makes latching the ball in the hitch easier because the base won't rotate inside of the hitch like a round base might, so lining the pin up is a snap. The base of the ball also fits tightly within the ball hole during storage. Because only the corners of the base contact the sides of the socket, any dirt or grime that gets into the hitch will fall through the socket, thus helping to prevent any buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.

Simple, Custom Installation

This hitch is custom designed for your vehicle. The included mounting brackets bolt to existing holes in your truck's frame. While some modification is required - you will need to cut a 4" diameter hole in your bed for the hitch ball and drill holes for the built-in safety chain loops - there is no need to weld onto or to drill into your frame.

Operation Handle

Once you have the hitch brackets and body installed, set up the operating handle. This handle is designed to be accessed from the rear driver's-side wheel well. On the end of the handle is the heavy-duty steel pin that secures the hitch ball.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Accessories

B&W makes it easy to tow just about anything. With the many adapters and accessories available, the Turnoverball can be made to work with almost any gooseneck trailer. Hitch balls are available that have a built-in rise, an offset, and even a different connection type. Add on the Companion fifth-wheel hitch - which attaches directly to the Turnoverball with no other parts required - and you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer.

Easy enough to install. Directions are clear and the video online helped a lot. The little ring on top I made to give it a more finished look around the cutout. It would be nice if B & W included a piece like this with the kit, even if made of plastic. But, very happy with it.

Excellent product. Has been used extensively without failure.

We use a lot with a dump trailer and a horse trailer. No issues, smooth!

4.9 out of 5 stars Etrailer provides an installation video from 2017 which, given my “new” F350 in 2024 is, in fact, a 2017 year, one would presume to be appropriate - but, in fact, B&W has tweaked its product just a bit so there were a few, small headscratchers. Most important of these were drop-in (well, hammer in) threaded busing inserts in place of the previous threading in some of the brackets.
But overall, the surprises all were positive ones. Most importantly, against my dread, I did NOT have to drop my DEF tank, even though my truck has the very long 48-gallon diesel tank. Nor did I have to extract any heat shield…or even lower the exhaust. This is my second B&W Turnover install - the prior was in 2008 - and this went even more smoothly than the prior time.

Lastly, a point of uniqueness: Etrailer’s free shipping applies only for the lower 48. Shipping this ~150-lb product to Alaska would have set me back another $243. But, in that we needed to fly to Seattle, I had the hitch sent to WA and - to the eye-raises of the AK Air employees - managed to check four small but mighty heavy boxes of just under 50 lbs. each and pay no surcharges other than Washington State sales tax. A win!

Excellent product for my application. Iam Using a Anderson Hitch to pull a 5th wheel. Leave it in or take it out if you need more bed room
I did have a trailer place install it.

Works as it should

by:

Great sturdy product. My used 2012 F-250 came with one and now have one on my 2020 F-250, I think it's a better product than the Ford factor hitch. The installation video is VERY helpful.
Torquing the bolts requires a lot strength and flexibility due to the awkward positions you have to get in but it can be done with patience and prayer. Just plan on dropping the exhaust as shown in the video. As is consistently the case e-Trailer's customer service is second to none. We've already used it several times to pull at 16' gooseneck dump trailer and it works very well.

Great hitch, Ive purchased a second gooseneck trailer and have confidence when towing with this hitch.

The high quality is apparent with this hitch. It is made well and thoroughly thought out for easiest possible install. The value is very high!

However the instructions were incorrect for the distance to drill the hole in the bed. It said 45 1/2” from end of bed. But It should have been 45 7/8” - 46”. Caused a slight issue for our install. I had to ream out the hole on the cab side to get it to fit. Which left a large 1/4” gap on the side closest to the rear of the bed. Most of these new truck have a circle area cast in them where the hidden hitch hole should go. I recommend centering your drill bit in that and drilling instead of using the measurements in the instructions. I considered doing that, but depended on the instructions instead. Bad choice! Not pleased with that! Further, the instructions don’t give torque specs.

I have contacted one of our installers and have confirmed that when it comes to the measurements, they recommend following the measurements that are on the installation instructions. The factory dimple is not always centered, so its better to measure according to the instruction manual. As for the torquing specifications, on page 4 of the instructions it states that once the hitch is tight, torque 0.625 inch hardware to 150 ft. lbs. and all 0.5 inch hardware to 110 ft. lbs.

This product is top notch! I love how clean it looks after its installed and the only holes I had to drill were the ones in the bed, You use existing holes in the frame which made installation super smooth!

by:

Works as described. Installed it myself in the driveway. Installation cost in my area was around $1,200. Instructions are pretty good and the parts fit well together. Overall very happy with the product and each trailer service

by:
2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Received in terrible condition. One box was completely open at all borders and finish on hitch was chipped in multiple places. Product was shown as in stock when order was placed but wasn't shipped until the day AFTER it was supposed to be delivered. Two calls to etrailer told me it would be shipped prior to that date but obviously just trying to smooth over the situation. Installation was completed per instructions and watching etrailer [online] videos without issue. Only difficulty is torquing the bolts to final specs in tight spaces.

I give the unit 4 stars as it is heavy duty and went together fairly well. However, I would deduct stars for the release mechanism. This was just one step above unacceptable. For example, I have air springs and the release handle interferes with the bags. I had to slightly modify it so it would work. I'll be going to the nearest welding shop and asking for a better version to be fabricated. I would also deduct points for the instructions. Very basic and in some cases, worse than figuring it out myself.

I though the video from trailer was helpful. Albeit, the vehicle they show is not a diesel truck. I had to drop my DEF tank to get at the bolts.

Overall, the fifth wheel did what was expected of it. I removed the fifth wheel from my trucks and will caution that the base unit is fairly heavy. Either use a hoist or have others to help.

by:

this was a challenge to install by myself. Read the instructions and watch the video.
A couple of times. A few problems finding ways to get parts in place. Once you do it, it would not be a problem second time around. The parts are heavy and will wear you out without someone to help out. but it can be done. Took me several days doing a little bit at a time. You have to remove the spare tire. Get a clamp light or two so you can see what the #%^ you are doing. but it went in place, got torqued and works fine. Not rocket science. Just hard labor.

Fine. Difficult to get the ball release handle slid between the bed and the frame rail.

2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Pretty simple installation on our 2017 F350.

by:

Installation was very easy. Everything lined up perfectly. I did not need the inner brackets. I have a 2019 Ford f250 platinum. Absolutely amazing. Another great B and W hitch!!

by:

Only feedback I have is that one of the frame brackets where we had to press fit the bolt grommet was oversized and didn't retain the grommet. We worked around it to hold it in place until we could engage the bolt. Other than that we love the fit and finish and are very pleased.

One year later and we remain very pleased with our purchase. We now use our hitch with the B&W fifth wheel slider and are impressed with the quality of this combination. Very happy we chose a great Kansas company for our hitch.

2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty

It was a simple install with a pair of ramps in my garage. I would recommend the etrailer install video. That was more informative than the manual that came with the Hitch. It took me around 2.5 hours to perform complete install.

by:

Installation was pretty straight forward. Heavy duty steel. Turnover ball is quite convenient.

by:
2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Installed on my 2019 F250 4x4. Very heavy and well made product. Design and engineered well for installation.
As a DIY person I've decided to save $300 and installed this myself and the fact it was during the Corona quarantine.
Somewhere I saw 2 hours labor for novice. Let me tell you that is completely inaccurate for your typical DIY person.
etrailer has a great install video for a 2109 F250, but don't use that alone. Minor differences in their project truck makes major headaches for the novice installer. Follow the video, but also follow printed instructions.
Watching video indicated it was a good idea to loosen exhaust. It made it look easy to do that. Video showed removing 4 bolts which was easy, but that does not loosen exhaust enough to matter. You have to remove another bracket further towards the front of the truck which is MUCH more difficult, if you can even figure out how. I spent an hour wasting time with exhaust and gave up on that part. Lot of brake lines and emissions type stuff under there to deal with also. In the end, exhaust isn't worth loosening.
I did the install by myself in about 6 hours. I'm 55 yoa and 6' tall so going back and forth under the truck a 100 times wasn't much fun. A lift would have cut that install time in half.
Better figure out how you are going to lift the actual receiver into place and hold it there while you get the bolts in. I used a jack with a board along with a strap thru the top tied off.
Again, without a lift this is a tough job but doable. In the end happy with the install.

by:
2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of work that went into designing and manufacturing. I don't know about all of the installations available, but mine went great! There may have been an occasional doubt, but it was only backed up with relief and amazement. This looks and functions great, with not one clearance issue.

by:

Great aftermarket product. Installation straightforward but getting torque on nut/bolt is space limited depending on truck. Works as advertised and capable as advertised.

by:

When I dropped off at the shop to install I was called back to be shown that the package was missing 3 brackets to attach the hitch to the truck.
